So whatever you dream up about being there, it probably is there. Personality wise, you guys really complete each other. There is fantastic physical attraction, emotional connection, serotonin, comfort, intensity, overall romantic compatibility and sense of safety. Loving the mars trine jupiter double whammy. Lmao I can’t believe I looked over saturn conjunct asc. Orange can sometimes feel wronged by blue and be a bit delusional at times, what can create distance. But that blue mars over there LMAO solves everything. Insensitive, but it solves it. Blue will do the ‘pursuing’, most probably by always being there as a support for orange, but the real ‘moves’ are going to be made or will need to be made by orange. hello there!! genuine question about the last point on your essay about ableism in this fandom (which i read the whole way through and i thought it was very good, explains a lot of stuff i hadn't realized i was doing so ty for that!)
i use the term 'brainrot' quite a bit to mean that im hyperfixating on something, it's a term a lot of my friends use as well, and im wondering if its offensive in that context? i have adhd + ocd (double whammy for hyperfixation) and it's an easy term to communicate to people who dont hyperfixate on stuff what it feels like when i am (cause it does feel like my brain is, well, rotting).
just curious about your take on this/gen
I do see it as still really iffy yeah. That's mostly a personal thing tho, and mostly comes from seeing a large amount of NT ppl using it, which felt super uncomfy bc of the implications. However, I won't police people's language & I don't wanna be seen as some kind of moral centre for this! If you want to reclaim terms like brainrot, I'm not going to stop you!
But for other people who may be curious as well: I suggested a few other more meme-like terms to use in the replies bc someone asked but I'll put the alternatives here too.
- "(blank) has decided my brain is free real estate"
- "(blank) lives rent-free in my head"
- "(blank) makes serotonin go brr/makes brain go brr"
- "(blank) sparks joy"

17. Who is your favorite character to draw on Good Girls overall?
I haven’t drawn everyone yet but I have a couple of Ruby/Retta WIPs that have been a lot of fun. She’s the first character I drew when I started to pick up fan art last Fall. I generally love Retta’s makeup both on and off camera -- especially Season 1 Ruby. 
18. Who do you prefer to draw: Beth or Rio? What’s your favorite thing about them to draw? Least favorite?
Lol at me putting this question on the list and not having an answer. 
UM... 
Rio? I guess? I spend a lot of time admiring his face and fan art seems like the natural progression of that. 
Favorite thing: Oh god, how do I answer this without sounding ridiculous? Um, something I’ve noticed lately is how naturally pink Rio’s lips are and I’m kind of obsessed. It’s a detail that brings me joy along with those thick eyelashes and brows. It’s a double whammy, Rio is pretty and he’s so expressive!  Drawing him is fun. 
Least favorite: Definitely, the facial hair. 
That being said, I also love drawing Beth happy. Beth/happiness is my true OTP. 
19. Of your GG fan art, which is your favorite?
I had a lot of fun with the portrait of Rio I posted earlier. But, I also love this Get To Be Mine thing. It was my first finished fan art and it’s kind of terrible and difficult to look at now. But! They’re so cute in this and one day I want to draw more of these dummies being happy and cute. 
20. Who/what would you like to draw more of in the future?
Ugh, I have this whole idea around drawing throwback pictures of the various characters. But, it’s SO ambitious. I want to do:
Mall photos of teenage Beth and Ruby
Pictures of Beth and Ruby at each other's weddings
BABY Mae Whitman and young Christina as like the cutest pair of siblings
Ruby/Stan in their early 20s
and highschool aged OT3: Rhea + Rio + Mick (I’m wildly excited about this one and it actually might be the one I try first)
Thinking about the project is immediate serotonin but I don’t quite have the digital skill to do this yet without making it an ugly mess. 
I realized I needed to start simple. I’m redrawing some of the scenes/still of the show -- taking it step by step. I’m hoping I can end up at my #tbt photostream eventually. 
21. Do you have strong feelings about the Eagle/Hawk/Owl/Phoenix bird of prey tattoo? 
I was really nervous to draw the bird tattoo for the first time but it honestly wasn’t that bad. 
That being said, it’s like a bogus extra challenge right when I’ve finished rendering everything else. Oh, you’re basically done? Yeah, well now you have to go shade in that shadow you smeared on Rio’s neck. Here’s another half-hour to an hour to render this last obnoxious and unfortunately necessary detail.

This is a combo of thoughts on music, lyrics and sometimes just funny things I found while I was hurriedly typing at 11pm listening to these songs. Not every song will be featured in these, sorry
At times I directly quote translations and when I do I’ll specify who I’m quoting, but just so you know first they are all either Defective Tragedy, Heresiarchy or Trauma Radio
Also, I’m planning on writing some longer essay-type things with these notes so there might be some things I skip over (such as a recurring theme in their songs) bc I want to use them elsewhere

This is A LOT. This is A LOT for anyone. It is a song about GROWTH – how he wants to grow yet is terrified of change, but even so is going to do it with the help of his support system. This is EVERYTHING. It’s raw and brave and so very beautiful. It has Wakaremichi and BEST FRIENDS energy. These three songs are best friends. I adore the guitars too I think there’s such a good balance between them.”
(Shichigatsu no Youka) “I love how the lyrics are between sections too – the most emotional parts are in the big, emotional chorus, and the verses are more mellow when the narrator is sort of…more detached and Not Crying… The guitar melodies are really pretty and the solo is just GORGEOUS. It’s such a bittersweet song as well (god GazettE just do bittersweet EXTREMELY WELL) like bruh…already being sad over a breakup and OH DOUBLE WHAMMY THEY’VE MOVED ON like. Ruki sweetie I’m so sorry.”

Of course, anon! I’d love to share some of the gold I’ve gotten lmaooo (this is kind of long so for the sake of mobile users- there is a read more)
First of all I have to say that there is a massive lack of house representation within people who took the quiz! Almost everyone is a Hufflepuff, which seems crazy to me. I wonder if anyone knows that Hufflepuff is canonically the house those who don’t truly fit in anywhere get put because Helga (founder of the house) opposed the idea of the sorting hat! Don’t take that the wrong way I just thought it was interesting! So far I’ve only gotten a few Ravenclaws and one Gryffindor. And I’m the only Slytherin around, it seems.
As far as my favorite responses go-I’ll add my favorites of the ones I’ve gotten so far. There are all in response to the question “what is your favorite thing about the HP universe?”
Of course I already posted about the “I hate Harry Potter” responses, but here’s some new ones.
This one is iconic to me because 1) I also love Emma Watson and the fact that out all HP things you went right for an actor...respect. 2) I am also a massive simp for the twins and anyone who mildly resembles their attitudes. Whoever this was...we share brainwaves.

And here we have a double whammy. First of all, whoever used an actual quote- come get your kisses. I read it in a British accent immediately and it boosted my serotonin to know that someone is just as obsessed as I am. Second of all, “idk I can’t read” made me laugh almost as hard as “i hate harry potter” did. I chose to believe that you have selective reading and only want to read what I write, which does inflate my writer’s ego a lot, so thanks.

  Life naturally slows down In the Winter. Short days, and freezing temperatures easily become an excuse to plop ourselves in front of the TV for hours on end. While I love binge watching Netflix as much as the next girl, it might not be the healthiest winter habit. In fact, over-watching TV, feeling low energy and mood, and social withdraw can all be signs that you are feeling SAD.
 Seasonal Affective Disorder, also known as seasonal depression, primarily impacts people who live in cold, grey, cloudy winter climates. (Welcome to Montana!)
  According to Mental Health America:
  ·      Around 5% of Americans experience seasonal depression. (This number is a national average and thought to be higher in MT.)
 ·      4/5 people who have seasonal depression are woman.  
   If you have been feeling down in the dumps this winter, how do you know if your seasonal slump is something you should be concerned about?
  And more importantly, what can you do to fix it?
  According to Cathy Joy, Licensed Counselor at Curry Health Center, seasonal depression usually starts in the fall and continues through winter.
   Symptoms you should look for are:
 Feeling low energy and low mood
Loss of interest in activities you normally enjoy
Sleep problems (too much or too little)
Changes in appetite and weight
Social withdraw
Difficulty concentrating
Thoughts of death or suicide
  Joy also notes that there is a lot of overlap between SAD and “regular” depression.
 “For some people with depression, they experience worsening symptoms in the winter months,” said Joy. “So (they) have a double whammy of regular and seasonal depression.”
  “Like any chronic disease, you should not think of “curing” seasonal depression, but rather, managing the symptoms.” said joy.
  If you are feeling seasonally depressed, here are some things you can do to try to overcome your symptoms:
 Light therapy
Spending time outside (20-30 min/day)
Lifestyle changes (sleep, exercise, diet, etc.)
Avoiding drugs and alcohol
Medication
Counseling

  To simplify the science of light therapy, lack of sunlight in the winter months has been thought to alter our biological clocks. Getting a blast of artificial lighting in the morning can trick your body into thinking it’s a beautiful summer day, and normalize your hormones and sleep schedule.
 Check out this article from Mayo Clinic for more info about light therapy.  
Another common treatment is vitamin D which helps regulate serotonin levels in your body. Serotonin is believed to regulate mood, social behavior, appetite, sleep, and sexual desire, (basically all of the good stuff).  During the summer, our body soaks up all of the vitamin D that we need though the sun. However, during a grey winter your body might not absorb enough vitamin D from the sun alone, leaving you feeling like you are missing out on the good things in life.
    If you are unsure if you have seasonal depression you can make an appointment with a medical provider or licensed counselor.

Filipinos is known to be a happy people but behind of this happiness there is some side that has been part of the culture and in the society. Filipinos is known also for being a judgmental, some “pinoy” prone to be easily believer they believe easily by the story of other people without confirmation, credibility and validity. One of these situations is the Filipinos remembered only the mistakes and bad doings that has been done by a person, one of the best example is the presidents of our country, if you already watch this episode in TV5 you will able to understand and watch that the host only featured the negative side of the administration and it’s so sad to see this but after I watched the episode I able to understand the reason why the host try to imply this kind of feature. It is because most of the Filipinos only remembered the negative sides. I think that people forget the good but remember the bad because it is in their own DNA and it is the human nature to do this. The best example of this is you showing your your marks to your parents. They will only see the marks you lost and not those which you gained and keep you telling this days after that day. Let's say you got 56 out of 80 so they will say that there is a difference of 24 marks but they don't see how much you studied for those 56. People never see what they have,they will remember that they have to buy when they are going to some x or y place and it is also good to be bad because this way the people will remember that you were the one who took all of their things and left them with nothing. The best example of this is the story_ My lost dollar_. You can do as many good things to someone but one bad thing will get into his mind and it will take you years to erase it and get forgiveness. 
What I trying to imply is that people tends to remembered Bad things and actually it is due to psychological issues. It is known as Negativity bias. It’s safe to say that Filipinos are biologically and naturally made to exude jubilance. Some ask: Are they high? On some sort of a happiness potion? Maybe not.  Our happiness is a deeply-rooted trait more like a genetic characteristic than a passing one that fades over time. The Philippine brand of happiness has developed into a cultural trademark that has become commonplace or an expected norm. Happiness is so common in the Filipino culture that we have grown fond of names that are euphoric in nature. At some point in our week, we will meet or speak with several fellow Pinoys with names such as Joy, Happy, Jolly, Ligaya (Filipino for happy), Bliss or even the double-whammy, Merry Joy. We live in joy too, literally, as there are streets named Masaya, Maligaya, Galak—all pertaining to happiness in vernacular. Behaviorally or culturally speaking, Filipinos do well in living up to the happiness trademark. It’s no wonder that the Philippines fares well in World Happiness Report, a survey that assesses how happy citizens gauge to social progress.  Meanwhile, the first four determinants are intangible things that Filipinos may possess. Not that other people aren’t as caring, free, generous or honest but Filipinos possess culturally developed qualities that make them easily caring and generous. Aside from being happy people, Filipinos are known for their resiliency and for having closely-knit family ties. Filipinos’ spirit of resiliency The idea of resilience was first explored in 1989 by an American developmental psychologist, Emmy Werner. She described it as an “internal locus of control” or the ability to perceive that actions are what mold their lives and not the circumstances. In a less-riddled explanation, resiliency is the capability of bouncing back after an adversity. As per her study composed of nearly 700 children, Werner noticed that a portion of them with “risk backgrounds”— those who faced with poverty and family issues — shared the same “bounce back” trait that drove them to move on despite their struggles. The trait resulted in various positive outcomes like success, as proven by Werner after she followed the children for thirty years. Are ‘food comas’ real or a figment of your digestion?
(CNN)You’ve just finished a big meal, and you’re stuffed. You’re thinking of taking a walk or even a stretch before clearing the table, but the thought of just getting out of your chair seems like a challenge.
The idea of taking a snooze on the couch seems more and more appealing.
Sounds familiar? There’s a name for it: It’s called postprandial somnolence — commonly referred to as “food coma.” The phenomenon refers to the tired, sleepy feeling that many of us experience after eating a big meal. And the causes are based on different theories, some more plausible than others.
Blood flow shifts
According to David Levitsky, professor of nutrition and psychology at Cornell University, the most likely explanation for food comas has to do with changes in circulation. When food enters your stomach and activates the gastrointestinal tract, “blood flow shifts from the muscles and brain into the stomach and intestines,” he explained. “And when blood volume goes down in the brain, we get woozy and tired. It’s why I have to make my lectures extremely exciting: They’re right after lunch.”
A similar case can be made for serotonin, a neurotransmitter that is produced from the amino acid tryptophan and is responsible for feelings of relaxation and sleepiness. It’s true that after we eat, the amount of tryptophan in the blood increases, especially if we eat a lot of carbohydrates — and this would theoretically lead to greater production of serotonin in the brain. However, the amount of tryptophan that increases after we eat is not great enough to raise brain serotonin levels.
“If you infuse serotonin directly into the brain, it will make you go to sleep, but like CCK, the concentration necessary to produce this effect is supraphysiological,” Levitsky said. “The direction of the theory is correct, but the quantification is not.”
Protein, fat and circadian rhythms
Protein delays gastric dumping, which means food, and its surrounding supply of blood, tends to stay in the stomach longer.
“It is theoretically possible that after eating a large (protein-rich) meal, you may feel more tired,” Levitsky said. Indeed, a recent study involving fruit flies found that the more protein the flies consumed, the longer they slept. A similar case can be made for fat, which also takes longer to digest — though when eaten with carbs, small amounts of protein or fat can help stave off sleepiness by slowing the rise in blood sugar after a meal, which can help prevent blood sugar spikes and crashes.
Circadian rhythms contribute to food comas, too. In our bodies, there is a normal decrease in arousal that occurs in the early to mid-afternoon, a biological phenomenon that contributes to sleepiness and is compounded by eating a meal.

“Around 1 or 1:30 p.m. is right about when that dip occurs, where we are a little more drowsy,” Orr explained, though that time can vary based on when you wake up. “Even if you don’t eat lunch, you would still get sleepy due to the circadian rhythm. But when we eat at this time, it’s a double whammy.”
There’s also a dip in the evening — due largely to the normal circadian decrease in body temperature that occurs at this time –and a large dinner would compound the food coma effect. But for most, feeling sleepy when it’s closer to bedtime serves us better than becoming drowsy earlier in the day. “In the mid-afternoon, you’re occupied with the tasks of daily living, and getting very sleepy does not help!” Orr said.
Preventing a food coma
Though a food coma may seem inevitable at times, there are some things you can do that may help:
Eat small meals. The bigger the meal, the greater the chance you’ll be drowsy. “We have to consciously put small amounts of food on our plates,” says Levitsky. At lunchtime, small portions are especially important, because the lunchtime dip in arousal compounds the effects. “If I want to avoid postprandial sleepiness, I will have a light lunch, because I know no matter what, at 1 or 2 p.m., I will be sleepy, even if I don’t eat anything,” Orr said.
Have an early lunch. “If you eat at 1 p.m., that’s right at the time of the endogenous circadian dip,” Orr said. It’s better to eat an earlier lunch about 11:45 a.m. rather than a later lunch at, say, 1 or 1:30, right when that dip occurs.
Choose liquids over solids. That doesn’t mean lunch has to be limited to smoothies, though occasionally they’re fine as a mini meal. “If you have a salad or a bowl of soup as opposed to a hamburger — something with more of a liquid consistency, with a higher water content — that’s better,” Orr said.
Opt for carbs that are low on the glycemic index over ones that are high. Low-GI carbs include whole wheat bread, oatmeal, beans, peas, most fruits and non-starchy vegetables. Limit white bread, white rice, bagels, pretzels and crackers.
Grab a cup of coffee. “You can counter the effects of sleepiness after a meal by consuming caffeine,” Levitsky said. A cup of coffee or cappuccino should suffice. Though caffeine can serve as a helpful stimulant, too much can lead to restlessness and can interfere with sleep later on.
Skip the wine and martinis. “Alcohol is a sedative, so this just adds to the drowsiness,” Orr explained. If you enjoy a drink with a meal, choose dinnertime over lunch, and limit yourself to one beverage.
