NEON Carnival Q&A Pamphlet Translation

disclaimer: apparently Taiwanese Mandarin is different from what I speak, so some of these may need to be taken with a grain of salt! my credentials are that my native language is Cantonese and I know - but am rusty on - Mainland Mandarin.

Q: Do the characters have set dick sizes? A: The team has a "super⭐secret measure", every time they draw the characters they'll reference it.

Q: Between Quincy and Olivine, who has the bigger breasts? A: The team fought over this and couldn't decide, so there's no answer.

Q: I want to know the ages of the long lived ones, the yokai, and the familiars! Who's the oldest? A: From oldest to youngest are: Kuya > Quincy > Rei > Aster > Morvay > Yakumo > Garu. The specifics of their ages will be revealed in the game.

Q: Who's older between Father and Topper? A: Father is older than Topper!

Q: The game has a lot of retro stuff, super curious about the producer's age! A: Retro has nothing to do with the producer's age!!!

Q: How are the kinks of each room thought up? A: The devs think of them in the small dark room, the artbook sketches include clues. [t/n: I consulted two other Chinese speakers and I'm still not really sure what the answer actually means, so this is a best guess translation.]

Q: What's inside the small dark room? A: Tired and busy devs......

Q: When designing event outfits, how do you decide where to open holes? A: Different people will think of the parts they want to highlight, later on we'll also test different levels of nakedness. (it's not like we haven't thought of throwing darts to decide) [t/n: little unsure about this one too. it's possible it means they think of which part of the characters they want to highlight, but they used 眷屬 rather than 角色.] EDIT: @milkeumilkeou has informed me that in the specific context of nuca, 眷屬 means clan members. that's what I get for not playing the game in Chinese... in this case, the better translation is: A: Depending on the clan member the devs will open the holes at the places they want to highlight, later on they'll also test different levels of nakedness. (it's not like they haven't thought of throwing darts to decide)

Q: How were the voice actors chosen? A: The producer chose them according to the characters' personalities and the desired voice. Many thanks to the voice actors!

Q: How far in advance do future events begin production? A: Usually the topic is decided on about 4 - 6 months in advance, and then production begins.

Q: I want to know which character the devs think would be the best coworker! A: Everyone agrees the best coworkers would be Eiden, Edmond and Olivine; Dante's work ability is also very strong, but he's more like a head that scares people. [t/n: 'head' may also translate to director or manager.]

Q: Do the characters have body hair? A: The devs actually really wanted to draw it, but considered various realistic reasons, so the players can't see body hair, but you're free to imagine it! (let Quincy have some stubble... how would that be?) [t/n: I would guess that the 'realistic reasons' they considered are probably that BL typically doesn't feature body hair, so it might've made the game less marketable.]

Q: Who has the most sexual experience? A: Morvay! (super fast answer) [t/n: the question is literally "who has the most experience♂️?" lol]

Q: Does the Klein Continent have a habit of wearing underwear? A: Klein has underwear. Just like hats, gloves, and scarves, when considering factors like decoration and functionality, to wear or not to wear underwear, and what type of underwear to wear, all depend on each person's preferences.

Q: Is Eiden's light brown hair dyed? A: Yes, and he'll regularly re-dye it.

Q: Does Eiden prefer briefs or boxers? A: It's okay as long as it's snug and covers him, and he has some special styles.

Q: I want to know how Eiden gets to work! A: Eiden rides a motorcycle, and on rainy days he'll switch to public transportation.

Q: What opportunity led to Eiden's interest in design? Did his designing always have to do with sex toys? A: Eiden has had artistic talent from a young age, and hoped to turn his passion into a job. His first job was being a sex toy designer at Peak of Pleasure, and this job happened to combine his two interests of design and sex. Aside from the overtime, for Eiden, this was an ideal job. [t/n: in case you don't remember, Peak of Pleasure is the name of Eiden's old workplace as mentioned in Journey to a NU World.]

Q: I want to know Eiden's relationship history! Did he have boyfriends before? A: Eiden knew he liked men from a young age. When he was fifteen he had a bitter first love, and afterwards his partners were all short term. Towards relationships he carries a generous attitude of easy-come-easy-go, and thinks that being happy in the moment is more important.

Q: Does Topper have others of his kind? A: He used to, but when he met Quincy, among those of his kind only Topper was left. [t/n: 手足 may also translate to 'siblings' or 'close friends', as opposed to 'others of his kind'.]

Q: Who makes Topper's outfits? A: Sometimes they're prepared by Quincy, sometimes they're made by Eiden.

Q: Does the food Topper hide in Quincy's hair affect Quincy washing his hair? A: No, Quincy will wash his hair when it needs to be washed. But not long after Quincy washes his hair, the food stores in his hair will be quickly refilled by Topper.

Q: I want to know Topper and Father's weights! A: Little animals' weights will fluctuate, but there's no direct link to fur amount. Topper weighs about a third of a pampo, Father only weighs about half a music box. [t/n: pampo as in the pumpkins from Eerie Escapade.]

Q: What's Yakumo's signature dish? A: He's good at everything, especially savory food. Because of his grandparents' influence he rarely eats sweets, and he can't quite grasp the seasoning amount, but after meeting Eiden he's begun to research sweets recipes.

Q: How is Edmond's knights' uniform worn? A: The uniform has a top piece and a bottom piece, the jumpsuit has a zipper on the back for convenience.

Q: If Edmond came to Taiwan, how sweet would he order his boba tea? A: After ordering full sweetness, Edmond would feel that it could be twice as sweet.

Q: How many nipple chains does Olivine have? A: Olivine makes all of his own nipple chains. He'll change them based on style and mood. The number continues to increase.

Q: Will Quincy help brush Topper's fur? A: Quincy will sometimes help brush Topper, but most of the time Topper will groom himself.

Q: Quincy, Olivine, and Kuya, who would win an arm wrestling match? A: Olivine would win, because Quincy wouldn't take it seriously and Kuya wouldn't compete.

Q: Please reveal Kuya's real height! A: It's 178cm ^^.

Q: I want to know Kuya's experiences before and after becoming a yokai! A: Kuya's journey of becoming a yokai will be revealed in future scenes. What can be revealed now is that, after Kuya became a yokai, he was a lawbreaker for some time...

Q: When Kuya addresses Quincy, why did it change from "boring associate" to "old friend"? A: When Kuya says "old friend" he doesn't mean true friends, he just likes addressing people in ways that make them uncomfortable, like "Master Rei". [t/n: Kuya probably didn't call Quincy "boring associate", but I have no idea where to begin looking for what he actually called Quincy.] EDIT: Kuya used to call Quincy "boring clan member" rather than "boring associate". credit to @milkeumilkeou once again!

Q: Does Garu sleep nude? A: He doesn't like pajamas that are restrictive or impede movement, but if it's cold Eiden will wrap him up in clothes or a blanket!

Q: When Dante first adopted Sooley, how did they get along? A: At first Dante got bitten terribly, because he tried to train Sooley to do various tricks. As they spent more time together, the two eventually developed some mutual understanding of wildness.

Q: Can Dante swim? A: Dante thinks that with something as small as swimming, you just need to learn! [t/n: Dante dodges the question here and neither confirms nor denies whether he can swim, just says that anyone can learn. knowing how he is, he's probably being ambiguous because he doesn't want to admit he can't.]

Q: How many darlings has Blade made? A: Because Blade's favorite is cute things, it's infinitely increasing...... [t/n: 'darlings' as in the goofy little statue guys]

Q: Has Rei always been in the Water Territory? Has he moved before? A: Rei doesn't have a fixed home, he moves regularly. The room in the Water Territory is just one of his hiding places, it used to be an abandoned house.

Q: Does Rei eat when he's experimenting? A: He'll eat if he remembers, if Father's there he'll also remind Rei.

Q: If Fluff Balls think Fluff Balls are cute, will they eat their own kind? A: They won't eat each other. If there aren't cute things around, the Fluff Balls will journey in search of them. [t/n: since when was eating cute things part of Fluff Ball lore...?]

Q: Where is everyone's erogenous zones? A: Aside from the gemstones, everyone's erogenous zones are as follows: Eiden: lower abdomen Yakumo: tongue Edmond: nipples Olivine: entire chest Quincy: dick, palms Kuya: ears Garu: tail Blade: darling♡ Dante: tattoos, especially the Adam's apple and fingers [t/n: might be throat instead of specifically Adam's apple] Rei: moles

Q: Do the characters have personal clothes? A: Eiden: in his rebellious phase he liked dressing up, now he prefers simple, comfortable clothes. He has a changing room at Aster's house, and every event he'll absorb the local trends and design outfits that fit Klein aesthetics and seasons. Yakumo: aside from traditional snake yokai attire, Yakumo's clothes are almost entirely bought by his grandparents. Edmond: because he's nobility, he has a lot of clothes. Olivine: because he dedicated his life to the priesthood, Olivine doesn't have many personal clothes. Quincy: he has few clothes. Most of them are made by him, so they're rare. Kuya: he likes trendy and new stuff, so he has a lot of accessories. Garu: it was only after he started living with Aster that he started getting more clothes (Aster and Eiden buy a lot of clothes for him). Blade: he'll wear whatever people give him, and he looks good in everything. Dante: he doesn't like wasting money, but as the Sun Lord, he has special outfits for important occasions. Rei: it's fine as long as it's wearable, he prioritizes ease of movement. Aster: prefers pretty, fancy designs, and especially likes clothes with cute accessories. Morvay: likes practical (easy to take off) clothes.

Elmsworth House, July 4th, 1818

After the proposal was made and the friends and family wished their congratulations to the new couple, the party migrated to the drawing room for some entertainment before the evening was concluded. Helena asked Aurelia to enchant their guests with her refined singing and musical talents. She was reluctant at first, mainly because she hadn't sung in front of Frederick in almost two years, but she did it anyway. As Aurelia's fingers gracefully danced on the harpsichord keys, the notes that escaped her lips left Frederick enchanted by the beauty of her angelic voice. It was like a melody had echoed through the chambers of his heart. All he could do was think of was their last summer spent together, as he tried to hold back tears from the bittersweet memories they shared.

Elizabeth: You have other talents to make up for that my dear, do not fret. I'm sure your harp skills will have you married off by the end of May!

William: You should delight us next with your singing, my sweet Martha.

Martha: But I want to sit here and gaze at you and imagine our future together.

William: We'll have a nice little townhouse in the heart of Willowfax. But during the Summer, we shall move to a country house in Henford where our children can go and visit their grandparents every day.

Martha: Oh, how grand!

Patience: Grand indeed! *finishes wine glass in one gulp*

Ashley: My dear, that is your fifth glass! Shouldn't you retire the wine-

Patience: Only after I play my song!

Peregrine: Patience I'm not sure that is a good idea considering the state you're in. You can barely stand up straight.

Helena: Oh dear, please do listen to Mr. Ramsbury and your husband!

Patience: Oh but ma'am, my song will ease my nerves.

Ashley: Oh dear!

*Frederick starts rising from his seat*

Ashley: Oh dear cousin, please, take my seat. I believe I need to be up waiting for my poor wife in case she needs my assistance!

Frederick: *whispering* You sounded lovely.

Aurelia: *whispering* T-thank you.

Frederick: May I speak with you later tonight?

Aurelia: Yes, yes certainly.

Frederick: Meet me in the woods, behind the house once everyone is asleep. Bring Sarah, just in case someone sees us.

Aurelia: Alright.

This made Aurelia more anxious than usual as recurring memories came to her head once more. She and Frederick used to sneak out late during the Summer of 1816 when he was staying with their family at their summer home in Brindleton. They used to enjoy each other's company and stroll along the beach whilst holding hands. They of course could never be intimate or physical in public, as it was considered scandalous, so when they had time to themselves they would hold, and hug each other as long as they could. She had been craving his touch and embrace for the past two years, and truth be told, she still loved him. She never stopped loving him, and now that he was in her presence again she felt her love for him grow stronger than it had been once he was away.

OC || Introductions

hello my darlings!! I've really been wanting to introduce a few of my main characters to you all!! I was thinking of possibly doing headcanons/oneshots/drabbles in the future! (May be purely self-indulgent but we'll see) That being said, This is basically a very brief intro and info dump about each character. So let's get started!!

All characters and art belong to me!! Like I've said before I'm an artist and draw scenes and characters. I have a shit ton of art of all these guys that I'd love to share if anyone's ever interested!

cw: death, murder, cannibalism? minor sexual themes (one of my ocs is an incubus), minor violence.

Night

I've had her the longest, I made her several years ago. She's literally just a self-insert for EVERYTHING I enjoy sshejwka. But on another note! This is Night, she's a humanoid griffin hybrid (griffins being the mythological beast, half eagle half lion). She's very sweet and friendly. She's so mom-coded omg. Like she'll bake you little treats, makes sure your dressed for the weather, and reminds you of things you need to get done.

She has this locket around her neck that she keeps close to her. This is because it contains her "soul" or "spirit" inside of it. Every griffon has one, and it's what helps her to transform. Which btw shapeshifterrrr. Her true form being that of an actual griffin. She's a gentle giant though don't worry.

Tom

I know what you're thinking and no, he's not related to Bill Cipher. Tom is a 25-year-old art college student. He's a no-nonsense kind of guy, and very easily irritated. He's a fine arts major and does a lot of painting. He HATES his roommate (there's literally nothing wrong with him he's so nice and friendly, tom is just a dick). He's got a pet snake!! He's a hognose named Poncho! He's a total stonerrrrrrr, it's the only time he'll be chill honestly.

He and his roommate live in a city style apartment, on the first floor, complete with a basement. Unbeknownst to his roommate, Tom has a secret black market business selling organs to dealers. The basement is where he does all the harvesting, it strictly prohibited for anyone to go down there. It makes hella money though, which he uses to help pay his tuition (art college is expensive!)

Orphan btw. His mom is Night actually (an adoptive relationship) She loves and cares about him very much, the same goes for him. He usually acts more behaved if she's around.

Roman

Roman is, well he's a--thing?? creature?? I haven't decided in all honesty but he's dangerous. He travels all across the country, making sure to be well hidden. He's a serial killer oop. His signature weapon being a bowie knife. Bros got some major sadistic and animalistic tendencies. Eats his victims btw. He can't rly show his face in public, and the mans gotta eat right??

He likes to hunt. His victims are essentially "prey" to him, and he does so enjoy the thrill of a chase. He's got a looooooong tongue (as you can see) he's accidently bitten it once or twice with those sharp teeth of his. Has a tail as well, yk what espeons tail looks like? yea it's like that. His ears are sensitive btw he doesn't like them being touched.

Can never stay in one spot for too long, constantly on the move, he's got great stamina and can run for quite a long time.

Damien

WOOO. RUFFmEOW. BIG STRONG MAN LETS GO RAGHHH. ya so this is Damien. As you can tell I love him very much and I'm so very normal about him. He's an incubussss (sex demon basically). Literal definition of a Himbo. He's a big beefy guy who's wholesome and sweet, despite his line of work.

Super flirty, and also hypersexual. It's what he feeds off of, and how he regenerates and gets his magic. which btw, he can be summoned!

He's got a looot of body hair, happy trail for dayysss! Also has a bunch of peircings, snake bites on his face, and nipple peircings on his pecks. He's got numerous scars littered all over his body too. He's really sweet an attentive, as well as respectful! What more could you want in a man??

Alecto

BIG WOMAN. she's literally just my "villain" version of Night, however she's not a self-insert. I gave her, her own story and lore. She's the main antagonist in an animated series I'm creating. Her name is based of the Mythological woman "Alecto" Who was a fury of the underworld, she symbolizes rage and spreads it across the world.

She's very quick to anger. "hot-headed" (Pun-intended). The back of her hair is literally fire, and it can grow and change depending on her mood. Those gauntlets on her arms are strong AF and razor sharp, you do not want to get on her bad side. Ngl, she kinda feral at times, yk how Miguel O'Hara literally ran on all fours to chase after Miles Morales??? Yea she does that.

She's evil muehahshegsh, but also classy. She's also really tall!!! like about 8'6'' DAYUM. she'll crush you.

annnndd thats a wrap!! These are the main Oc's that I adore and use on a regular basis, they each hold a special place in my heart. I rly would love to do occasional drabbles or head canons with my babies at some point, but I'm not sure anyone would read/enjoy them 😭

Nevertheless, I do hope you enjoyed my small ramble about these guys, as you can see, I'm totally normal about them.

"Oh it's nothin' s-serious! Y'know, it's been a while since you've come to live with us. Around erhhh... a year, y-yeah?"

"A year, yes."

"Right! Jiro has taken quite a liking to you and we've been t-thinkinnnn' that maybe you'd like to join us for our yearly visit to L-Lourielle? It's in a month, and we've rescheduled your work so someone will take over your duties on the days we're away."

"What? Wait wait wait- Are... Are you serious?"

"Of course I-I am! Whattt, you think I'd be l-lying to you?"

"N-No I just- Wow."

"Take time to process it, Odin! M-Maybe we'll even get to finally find that Chester of yours, hmm?"

"Yeah.. yeah! I'm- I'm sure we will. Thank you I'm just.. so surprised! Me? Out of EVERYONE here?"

"Mmmmhm! As I said, Jiro has t-taken quite a liking to you!"

"Right... thank you again, Jomei. Thank so so much-"

"Ah no need to thank me! ..Now now, you can go ask Jiro more questions about this, they're the first in charge with the trip, afterall! I got to g-get ready to see someone so you're free to do anything you'd like for this evening."

"Alright, alright. Good evening to you then!"

RAGHHH RAHHH I WORKED 12 HOURS ON THIS??? HELPPP LMFAOOOO

This is definetly one of my proudest works, i wanted to be extra detailed with this so i kinda went silly with this, wonder if anyone will catch some of the details as theyre important for the lore of the world and the characters themselves! I know this may not be to everyones tastes but im happy with it <|:3

And as I PROMISED! Jomei in lore art will be wearing those outfit suggestions you guys gave me, so I added one here!!!

I know the dialouges kinda clanky and weirdly worded but as long as it can clearly tell something about what theyre doing im happy with it! Oh and as a note, yes Jomei stutters from time to time, I imagine its pretty difficult to speak when you got a marionette mouth for well... a mouth LMFAO

This is much more in the future than the other drawings i did before, Odin's apperances tends to change a lot through the story as you can see, idk feels more natrual than him having the same iconic outfit forever, as the outfits important aswell! If someone catched who it originally belonged to of course winks

about this blog

hello... I'm Katarina (she/her) aka AbbyStanAccount.

I'm 26, and I made my stan accounts on the various platforms in early August 2020 after the emotional turmoil of playing The Last of Us Part II. I'm most active on Twitter where I have nearly 11k followers, and I also have Instagram where I post my art and on stories daily, normally sharing Abby pics I see.

I make 3D art with the game models, mostly of Abby. Also I've made some dancing animations you might have seen around.

A lot of my art and photomodes I've taken gets shared on pinterest, I prefer if you're gonna repost my photomodes or art like in a thirst tweet/post you @ me underneath or something like that! At the very least don't crop at my watermark.

My Tumblr I tend to use a bit less, I'll post my art and queue my photomodes and sometimes write some analyses and speculation! I'm addicted to Twitter but it's going downhill and when I'm annoyed with it I come back here more often.

Below are some character opinions etc

Obviously Abby is my #1. We stan. I like everything about her character, her story, etc. We'll support her in the TV series no matter who plays her, even though she'll be a different interpretation of the game character who we have come to know and love. (At least you should love her 🤨)

Jackson crew characters are all fine, sometimes they feel like a separate fandom to me because I focus mostly on Abby's friends. Everyone in the Salt Lake Crew are like my kids, I love them all. Yes, including Owen. Owen is one of my favorite characters and unfortunately it feels like we're back in an era where I see nothing but hate for him 🙃 It's annoying to see constantly on my timeline but I'll just scroll by it, I've seen it all at this point. You can still follow me and hate Owen and Abby's friends and I may follow back you too, but I draw the line at being rude on my positive posts/art about them. If you're an Owen fan dm me though lol.

I have written some fanfic but it's likely not up your alley if the previous paragraph doesn't sound like you, but it's here. I've also made some spicier Abby pics some of which I've shared on Tumblr, but I've been hesitant to do that again after a bad experience with reposting. But I may in the future share more with the Mature label if people really want that, so enable that if you're interested, lol.

Hiatus is drawing to a close. We'll get back on a new release schedule soon. Hope y'all had fun. Frieren and Dragon Quest really made this break easy. Likewise with some solid Jojo's/Skip & Loafer chapters. Between the dub batch and new anime releases we're seeing a lot of Gear 5 again and now...I can't unsee that little moment of hesitation. This question is worth its own musing. If Gear 5 has this element of taking over, Luffy losing himself to the Awakening...does he realize that's happening?

Seeing it again with the dub I'm sure we're playing in this territory. It's actually a pretty big departure from how he's talking with Kaido after he gets back up. We've gone from that to summoning paint for your baseball bat. G5 is getting more unhinged as we meander on. Which kind of makes sense. He really just needed it to polish off Kaido at the end of a long fight he was likely just a little short on. I still have to wonder if there is a Butterfly Effect thing going on with these time elements and Yamato kept Luffy from just succeeding outright if he could properly stand-in as the Akazaya's heavy. But that needed to happen or no Gear 5.

Egghead? Luffy's got a much taller task in front of him. Think about how the same concept worked with Sanji's Raid Suit and a few masked alter egos I could mention. The more you rely on it the more it takes over. Not like this has ever been a concept with Awakened Zoans or anything:

This is one of those panels, those scenes I keep coming back to. Three future emperors cross paths in the depths of hell. I've mentioned this before, but you have a great example of Jinbei being about 80% of someone who's good at reining Luffy in while Crocodile smoothly takes over the tense talks. Augur dropping the no coincidence, only fate line. Croc mentions Awakening for the first time shortly after this in the same chapter by the way. It's a crossroads setting up so much for the future of the story. Even have Blackbeard dangling haki in the scene. Kind of a cool half whiteout panel. Also just so happens to have the cover page where Sanji's happily frolicking along with the Kamabakka that many like to ignore.

Feels really important though our first impression of awakening was mindless Zoans fully given into the transformation. A theme reinforced with SMILE fruits heavily by the time we got there. More importantly though...Luffy is here for that. He knows Crocodile and may not like him but likely would respect his knowledge on the subject. Crocodile already had an element of being very skilled and knowledgeable about devil fruits. So has he put two and two together? Does he realize this fifth gear is running the risk of ending up like those jailer beasts?

Feels like that would change the tone of this arc in a big way if we come back and lean on it more.

just a little visualisation of my Arcana Twilight MC — Yona~

close up + full image + some random info about her mostly for myself yk but maybe someone will be interested too... (=╹x╹=)

small reminder that English is not my first language, so the following text can be a little wacky just like AT's official translation ahah...haha...ha- I'm sorry (º _ º l|l)

✩ Yona looks much younger than her age and frankly she's a little bit too old for all this school crap and whatsoever but oh well. Nevertheless she's pretty chill about the necessity of attending lessons. When asked how old she is, Yona always gives one of the two following answers: "Never ask a lady her age" or "People usually don't live that long". The last one confusing the shit out of Sorcerers, considering their average life expectancy.

✩ Yona is overall ok about the fact she gets stuck in Bound Arlyn, adapting is her strong suit anyway. What she isn't ok with is that "Summoning magic" of hers. It remains the power beyond Yona's full control and those random summonings when she feels a slightest threat are getting on her nerves. She once slipped in the shower and ended up summoning Sirius... He still can't shut tf up about it.

✩ Yona is a hot-headed person, but tries not to be led by emotions. So it's almost certain she won't be the one to start a fight… But sure as hell will be the one who'll stop it. Usually just by knocking the opponent out. (silly headcanon: this "Fever Time" game mechanic? yep, just Yona, kicking some asses to help the boys; tap on the star = punch)

✩ She's claiming to have a "magic weapon" of her own. When Pollux got interested and asked her about it, Yona showed him a pair of brass knuckles. Somehow nobody really doubts that she does know how to use them well.

✩ Speaking about Pollux, he actually reminds Yona of one of her brothers, so it's no wonder she became quite overprotective about him in no time. Same goes for Spica, tho obviously he reminds her of another brother, and while she sincerely likes and respects him, most of the times she's just trying to stay out of his sight to not to hear any naggins.

✩ Yona hates commotions and large crowds, she's always in search for quiet place where she could be alone with her thoughts. Unfortunately, almost all nice hiding spots at Neb Aula are usually already occupied by Alpheratz... So these two spend quite a lot of time with each other, napping together or chilling here or there equally enjoying both some chatter or comfortable silence.

I may or may not expand it in the future... ooor mb I'll just draw her more, we'll see~

Devlog #1

Hi hi! ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ I don't really post often, but I told myself that starting in 2024, I wanted to share what I've been working on! I'm a solo game dev who has been developing a game called Visionaries. It's a romance visual novel that explores grief and loss.

༺✧ STORY ✧༻

"Visionaries": Special individuals with the ability to look into the past. There are a select handful of Visionaries who can also see into the future.

"What happens after we die?" The age-old question with no definitive answer. Many have constructed their own complex theories and stories to try and explain this mystery.

Explore the world of Visionaries as you wake up in an unfamiliar room, unable to speak and move. You're faced with unusual people (who tend to bicker any opportunity they get) only to later discover that they are your assigned Visionaries. These Visionaries have only one task; they intend on looking into your memories.

What is the purpose of Visionaries existing, and why do they insist on looking into your mind?

Most of my time has been spent working on the art! (I can't feel my hand) My main focus is to finish drawing all of the character sprites as well as finish rendering the backgrounds. I've already come up with all the designs and expressions for the characters, they just need to be rendered :,)

I still need to create their little character info sheets (I have no idea what the word is, haha), where you'll learn their names, ages, and all of that fun stuff ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ

Below are some of the sprites :-)

The first two are fully rendered, while the other three need to be finished :,)

As for backgrounds, I have 1 that is fully rendered and 3 that still need to be finished! I'll only be sharing 3/4 today since I'm unsure if I'll be including the one background in the demo.

To be honest, I struggled quite a bit when drawing the backgrounds D: There were a lot of things I envisioned, but unfortunately, I didn't know how to fully portray them. I had some trial and error while coming up with the original designs. That being said, I'm glad I was able to come up with something I felt satisfied with! I'm planning for the rest of the backgrounds to follow the red/brown colored theme as seen in the first photo ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ

Of course, there will be more backgrounds than the ones I'm currently showing! I already have some ideas/drafts for those, but they might change depending on the way the story plays out.

༺✧ WRITING ✧༻

So far, I've planned for the demo to have a little less than 9k words. I'm unsure if I'll keep it at 9k words, or if I'll expand it some more so that there will be more content in the demo :-) We'll see!

As for the overall game, there will be at least 2 routes. There will also be 2 romanceable options (one being he/him, the other being she/they). I'm still figuring out how I want to script all of this, so these aspects may change in the future!

The game will also have options where you can choose your pronouns and name!

༺✧ OTHER ✧༻

Besides writing and coding, I've been coming up with some ideas for the GUI! I don't have any current drafts of that to share, but I'll hopefully include them in a future devlog ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ I also have plans on creating the cover art for the game, cgs, more backgrounds, and possibly some promotional art (rip my hand, there's so much I need to draw (╥_╥))

I was thinking about composing the music for the game, but I realized I know absolutely nothing about music and wouldn't even know where to start if I had tried :,) So instead, I've compiled a list of some soundtracks and sound effects I might use! Hopefully, I can share that in the future once I've narrowed down which soundtracks I know I'll be using.

༺✧ CONCLUSION ✧༻

My overall goal is to release the demo sometime during this year! Because I'm doing everything myself (art, script, writing, etc.), it might take me a bit longer to get everything done. My apologies for that! (╥_╥)

Besides that, I really just want to start creating and sharing more of my art. Getting over the mental hurdle of being afraid to show my work is honestly pretty terrifying for me. I normally only share the things I create with close friends, but I think it's time to get over this fear of mine! ᕦ(ò_ó)ᕤ

I was able to make significant progress within these past few weeks since I'm currently on my winter break. Classes start back up soon, though, and I'm going to be internship-hunting as well as planning on a big move. I'm still going to try my best to juggle everything so that I can make even more progress on the game! ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ

At the end of the day, all of this is a fun little project I've always wanted to do. As a little kid, I absolutely loved playing VNs (and I still do!). Creating my own game felt like an unreachable goal, but with enough effort, I think it's something obtainable ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ I really just want to create something that others can enjoy!

As a side note, I have some plans to create a little blog (not even sure if it's considered a blog, haha) about the games I've played/want to play! That will be coming very soon!

Getting Acquainted With Santa / Wessa (+ little Lucie and James)

Will dresses as Santa Claus to surprise little James and Lucie, but someone may be scared of Santa ;) Set around Christmas 1888. I just love writing about Wessa when their kids are little.

I may have one more idea involving some of the characters in this fic set on Christmas but in the future, but we'll see if I can write it. Also, if you have requests, please send them to me.

Will bought the costume in a shop downtown without thinking, and he first showed it to his wife.

“You’re not thinking about –” Tessa said, looking at the red and white cloth with a frown. “For the Christmas party?”

He nodded. “The children will love it,” he replied giddily. “Or would you rather I dress as Mari Lwyd? You don’t seem too sure, Tess.”

She just shrugged and managed a tight smile. “I don’t want them to be scared so young.”

“By Santa Claus?” Will frowned, and put a hand on his wife’s shoulder. “Is there something I should know?”

Tessa sighed, and covered her face with her hands for a moment. “When I was six or seven,” she began, “I was deeply frightened by Kris Kringle. I was with my aunt, and it was one of those rare occasions she allowed me to go out with her. I had never seen Santa, and you can imagine my shock when he appeared out of nowhere and asked me which gift I wanted for Christmas.”

“I’m sorry, Tess,” he caressed her shoulder. “I should’ve asked you first. Maybe I should really dress as Mari Lwyd, then. They also know about her.”

“Please, no,” she laughed. “I can get acquainted with Santa. Perhaps if you wear that costume in front of me, my fear could subside. I could associate you with it, and thus face my fear.”

“Do you think it could work? I don’t want to startle you, my dear,” he squeezed her hand.

“Let’s try it now,” she tilted her head to the side. “While the children are still asleep.”

Will smirked. “I’ve got the feeling you will want to remove the costume real quick.”

“Well,” she teased. “Let’s see if you are right.”

In the end, they were right. Seeing her husband dressing – and undressing – as Santa reframed Tessa’s childhood memory after a while. He didn’t frighten her anymore. If any, he looked –

“Amazing,” she commented, fixing his jacket. “You’re all set, Will.”

“Santa Claus is coming to town!” he exclaimed, and Tessa couldn’t help but laugh.

She went to the nursery to get Lucie and James, who were one and two respectively, and took them to the drawing room. They agreed that it was better to dress as Santa in front of them first. Tessa thought they should ask their friends if it was okay for Will to surprise the other children, since one of them could be scared like she used to be.

Tessa sat on the rug. Lucie sat on her lap, while James sat beside her. When Will entered the room and chanted, they both looked up.

“Hello, James and Lucie,” Will chirped, and sat on the rug. “How are you?” Tessa frowned at her husband. “What? It’s friendly,” he muttered. “I am Santa Claus, an old friend of your papa’s.”

James glanced at his mother. He was a little shy, and Tessa smiled to encourage him.

“Good,” he said quietly.

“Do you want to sit here with Santa, James? You can tell me what you want for Christmas,” Will wondered, and opened his welcoming arms.

James hesitated at first, and looked at his mother again. “Go,” she told him, and that seemed to put him at ease. “It is fine.”

Will and Tessa’s first born son sat on his leg. “Yes, Jamie, you are safe with me. I’ve known your papa for a long time, and granted a lot of his wishes,” he explained. “Let’s hear what you wish for Christmas. I can make it come true.” James bit his lip but then he whispered something into his father’s ear. Will smiled when he was done, and looked at his wife. She also seemed pleased. “Only that? Okay, let’s see what Santa can do,” he kissed his boy’s hair, and he ran back into his mother’s arms. “Lucie’s turn.”

“Do you want to sit on Santa’s leg too, Lucie?” Tessa asked her youngest child, who observed the intruder curiously. She stretched her arms out and her father picked her up without a fuss. “This was easy,” she told Will with a knowing grin.

Lucie was less wary about the world compared to her older brother. Will often said she reminded me of him when he was little, while Tessa agreed that James was more like her. Their children seemed the perfect blending of their attitudes, even though they were still too young so this could likely change someday.

Lucie grabbed his fake beard, which she found fluffy. “Do you like this?” he inquired softly, and she bobbed her head, and it looked like a nod to him. “Later, cariad. Later,” he said, but his daughter tugged at the white wool too much that it fell off his face. “Oops,” Will muttered, and Tessa covered her mouth with her hand to hide a laugh.

“Pa,” Lucie touched her father’s face with her tiny hand, and their eyes met. “Pa!”

“What did you say, little one?”

“Pa,” she repeated. It was the first time she had uttered that word. Will and Tessa melt just like they did when James said it a few months before.

“Papa,” James echoed from Tessa’s lap, and he ran to Will’s other side. “Papa!”

Will and Tessa exchanged a quick glance and smiled at each other. “Yes, that’s your papa Claus here,” he hugged his children. “Can papa get a kiss from you?” he offered his cheek, and James kissed him first. He put a finger on his face and Lucie also gave him a kiss.

“Can I also kiss papa Claus?” Tessa wondered.

“I’d be offended if you didn’t,” Will said. “Considering how fond of him you’ve become.”

Tessa rolled her eyes and kissed him, and sat down next to him on the rug, basking in the happiness of her beloved family.

I feel like I never told anybody how much I loved the season 1984 from American Horror Story. Or Xavier. This whole yen to write for him rose earlier - around July tbh, and Idk, this might be a thing and it might not be a thing. We shall see. I do know I at least wanna attempt to squeeze some filth out of this before I call it quits but who knows where this one is going bc spoiler alert, it's not me. I do not know. This just came a while back and I found it in my drafts, thought I'd share.

I guess, what i'm saying here, if you wanna see more, you know what to do? Or not? Idek, man. Legit do not know how to feel about this one. On the one hand I love it, on the other hand me is scaredt.. Me is scaredt that this could turn real fuckin dark, real fuckin quick.

“Tell me they’re not… No, no. They better not be reopening this hellhole.” Montana’s mumbled words draw Xavier’s attention away from where you stand, leaned against the side of a lifted SUV that was driven by some asshole in a muscle shirt with a backwards facing baseball cap. You’re upset and he’s not sure how he knows, he just knows. The asshole in the muscle shirt says something about you being in a bitchy mood and he yells out loud, making his way over to a similar lifted vehicle.

Xavier knew it was coming, that fucking real estate agent blew through the week before and there was lots of whispering and talk about rewriting the narrative, making Camp Redwood a happy place and when he’d heard it, he wanted to laugh until he cried because the fucking place is evil. Tainted.

“Are you even listening to me, Plympton?” Montana asks, nudging him in the side. But then she spots him staring in the distance and her gaze settles where his is fixed so intently. “You know what’ll happen, you fucking idiot.”

Xavier finally pulls his gaze off you and drags a hand over the back of his neck. “I wasn’t even thinking about it, okay? I’m not fucking stupid.”

Montana scoffs because somehow, she doesn’t believe him one bit. Of everyone trapped and doomed to spend their afterlife in Camp Redwood, Xavier has struggled the hardest.

She places a hand against his bicep. “Come on, doofus. Lets just get you away from temptation, yeah? Before you wind up mopey and heartbroken and shit.”

But then, just as he’s walking away, you catch sight of him. And you rub your eyes as if you’re seeing things. And you shake your head. Before Xavier can come to you, Montana’s grabbed hold of him and blipped him up into the cabin farthest up in the grounds. Away from the cabins below.

Lavinia Richter knits her brows in concern. “Oh dear. What’s wrong, sweet boy?��

Her son looks up at Xavier and shakes his head. “I heard ‘em too. Stay the hell out of sight, kid. I mean it. It’s for your own good and their safety. We’ll work harder t’ make sure that bastard Ramirez stays trapped and can’t roam as much as usual.”

“It’s only a week.” Ray speaks up from the doorway and Chet nods solemnly. “Lot can happen in a week, man. Didn’t take this shit we’re stuck in more than a day or two, remember?”

“Yeah, well.”

Down below, you’re wandering around. Trying to find the guy you thought you saw earlier. Trying to blow off steam because once again, Seth is being a complete prick. You spot the dock and the sunlight glinting off the water and it’s so hot that you can’t resist taking a dip.

You make your way down and shed your cutoffs and the tank top you’d been wearing and you dive into the cool water of the lake. When you resurface, you happen to catch sight of a rundown cabin off in the distance on a high slope. And you’re almost certain you’ve seen someone standing in the window. A woman with bright platinum hair.

From the dock, Seth yells out to you and you ignore him because you’re just not ready to deal with him yet, continuing to splash around in the lake instead. Seth strips down and dives in with you, popping up while your back is turned and you scream when he covers your eyes.

You’ve heard all the stories about this place. You’re not sure why you agreed to come out and rebuild it after hearing everything that went down. But here you are.

“Jesus Christ, Seth.”

He laughs and teases you. “Such a little baby.”

“Asshole.”

“Aw c’mon. Don’t tell me you believe that haunted camp bullshit like Colin and Phoebe.”

You don’t answer because you’re too busy scanning the shore because you’re almost positive you’ve seen the same guy you saw minutes after your arrival and you’re almost sure you saw him sitting on the shore. Staring at you intently. Like he’s watching you.

Seth is starting to get handsy, his usual trick of sex to make you forget whatever shitty thing he’s gone and done and you swat his hands away, giving him an irritated look. “Stop it, Seth. No.”

“Aw, c’mon, darlin. Nobody will ever know,” he mumbles as his finger trails over your panties just below the dark surface of the water and you try to squirm away, “All I have to do is pull your bottoms to the side.” he’s trying to kiss your neck and you finally shove him off.

“You didn’t just forget a date this time, asshole. You fucked our roommate. In our bed. Fuck off, Seth. We’re done.”

He throws up his hands and calls out calmly, “You say that until Captain Morgan gets involved, babe. You’ll be back. I’m the best you’ll ever have. You even said it yourself.”

“Fucking six seconds lasting motherfucker, I hate you.” you grumble under your breath as you hurry to re-dress and get as far away from Seth as you can manage.

In your annoyed huff you find yourself body to body with him.

The guy you’ve been catching glimpses of all day long. And he’s all sweet smiles and baby blues dancing over your body. Biting his lip.

“Can I help you, sir?” you ask, stepping away a little because he’s migrated closer to you.

Xavier sighs. “You shouldn’t be here.”

“Yeah, kind of figured that one out for myself. Now I’m stuck and when I do leave, if I can’t get an Uber, I’m spending four hours trapped in that piece of shit over there,” you point to the jacked up SUV and continue as you rub your forehead, “With that piece of shit out in the water.”

Xavier shakes his head and it’s almost sad in a way because he’s just got a really, really weird feeling about the group of you showing up here. Now.

“None of you should be here.”

Your brow raises. “What the hell does that mean?”

“You can’t tell me you don’t know what the fuck you’ve walked into, kitten.” Xavier responds. Seth has caught sight of you both and he’s angry, heading straight for you.

“The fuck is this shit, huh?”

You grumble. You’re also clinging a little closer to his body and Xavier can’t help the way it overwhelms him. He’s been so long without some kind of physical touch. It’s driving him fucking insane. And you seem scared of the guy barrelling towards you both. Maybe more angry than afraid, but that fear is there and it’s got your eyes a little wild, a little bigger.

Xavier slips his arm around you and plasters on his best smirk.

“Gonna stop you now, meathead.” he speaks up, voice smooth and calm as silk and you can’t help but notice that somehow, it’s got you both a little wet and slightly afraid at the same time. Because there’s something dangerous in that voice and the way he’s smirking. “I’m taking your girl.”

Seth chuckles. “Mhm, right. You’re not even her type.”

You speak up before you can stop yourself. One wrong word and the asshole will abandon you out here in the middle of fuckin nowhere and you know it. He’s done it before.

And in that moment, you realize that you’re pathetic. You keep letting Seth sweet talk you and love bomb you until you’re back to the same vicious cycle and it’s been this way since at least junior year of high school. But you’re finally ready to call it quits. For good. Because he might’ve been an asshole up to this point but up to this point he hadn’t cheated on you. And then been callous enough that he didn’t bother hiding it after the fact.

And you weren’t going to take anymore of it.

“Actually, dipshit..” you speak up and Seth’s gaze settles on you. “Go on then, have your fun. Fuck this out of your system, get even with me.”

“We’re over this time, Seth. I’m being serious.” you respond. And it’s so calm that Seth looks just a little panicked. After he walks away to sulk, you take a few ragged breaths and collapse onto the bank. A hand thrown over your forehead. On the one hand, it feels as if you’ve lost his exact body weight in bullshit and baggage. On the other hand, you’ve managed to fuck yourself out of a way home at the end of the week.

Xavier stands there, arms folded. Gazing down at you.

“Are you okay, darlin?” he sinks down to sit beside you.

“I will be.. I think. I mean as soon as I fucking hitchhike four hours home at the end of the week.”

,, If you live til then.” Xavier thinks to himself solemnly.

You prop on your elbow and turn to the side, raising up to look at him. “Are you with Habitat?”

Xavier wants to tell you the truth but he knows that’ll do him no good just yet. Maybe in a day or two. After the usual weird shit happens and you all notice it and begin to panic and react accordingly. Then maybe you’ll at least listen to reason if he gets a little closer.

And he can tell himself this is his only plan, to keep you safe, but deep down, he knows it’s because he wants you. Not forever.

For now.

So when you repeat your question and he’s finally not distracted enough by your pillowy lips to answer, he flashes you his best charmers smirk. “Yeah.” he laughs. “I uh.. Signed up for it late.”

You smile and nod. “Awesome.” but in the back of your mind something feels off. Between the cryptic statement he made earlier and the dangerous vibe you're kind of picking up from him, something just feels off.

“My name is Xavier, by the way, darlin.” he introduces himself, chuckling because he’s been out of humanity for so long it’s as if he’s forgotten all the manners beaten into him at a young age. He stands and holds out a hand to help you up and warily, you take it.

Something about his name sounds familiar but you don’t say anything.

Awakening

That's right! guess who's finally back into the swing of things! your favorite pink haired fox thing, things have finally settled down. and i'm somewhat caught up with my collage work, but now i feel safe and mentally secure enough to start working on my blog and my boys again; if you all have noticed or not the blog has gotten some visual upgrades, mainly it is lore and that lore will be unlocked going further down the line. i want the lore to be like a fun puzzle, i will be sprinkling hints as i go. now that states this blog will still be goofy silly haha 2p hot men, but lore is still fun to have and i like making it now some more updates below

For Starters, it's been a while since i've shared about my precious cats. We'll start with my older son, Thomas (tried to be Tomato but Thomas stuck) he is a big fat boy, love him a lots and his Brother Catalina (we thought he was a girl until he grew nuts)

so those are how the cats are and of course if you guys ever want i'll happily show some more pictues of my sweet baby boys. but now to the actual star of the blog and what you really wanna see. . . . . .

Now the 2ps, so i have made a realization that on this blog i currently have 41 2p characters for the blog and 164 characters in total for the blog. so to make it so i don't end up fucking dying from trying to ya know trying to draw and keep track of every character. i will be separating main 2ps from side 2ps, you can of course still talk and ask the side cast stuff but i will mainly be focusing on the main cast. speaking off the main cast they will be getting some outfit changes/new looks just because i wanna give them some nicer outfits, the main cast will also be getting some more Indepth information that i will be posting on the blog so you can learn more about some of the lore i have for them

Klaus and Azrail are in grey cube jail because they are so ungodly pale that they disappear on the white background so i needed a different color to help them pop out but looking at it they are still kinda pale, at least they're a little bit more visible.

of course i also have a good few asks that i need to answer from last i left the blog off, although i won't be answering all of them as i will mainly be cleaning out my inbox and answering the ones that i feel like i can answer in a way that won't be disappointing. that includes a joke one my boyfriend gave because he is silly (i love him despite his silliness) so rest assure that there will be some asks finally answered but i hope i will get some new ones seeing as i will be more active (the art will be simpilar to help me do this easier)

i will also be doing more artist adventures with my 2ps, one of those things i want to do is animation and animatics. so expect to see some of those in the future, but if you would like to see early wips and other stuff i may do i do have a youtube channel although so far it's only character playlists for some random 2ps but i will still give the link if you guys are interested

um i'm not sure what else i should mention in this update, uhhhhhhhh oh! right you might be wondering why i'm orange simple reason is that it's autumn so ya'know orange. yeah seeing as my Sona Jam is an animal like creature i made it so she changes during the seasons. mainly to reflect how i like to change during the seasons (close and hair wise) funny enough in the species i made for Jam the they only change for winter but Jam is special as she changes seasonally.

each are different flavored too, Spring: Strawberry Lemonade, Summer: Cherry lemonade, Autumn: Orange Lemonade, Winter: Blackberry Lemonade

Who the heck are my muses anyway:

He's a little shit that causes problems and pisses people off for the heck of it. A bit of an edgelord (is that an understatement?), rude, vulgar, and extremely tough to crack if you want him in friendlier stages. Good luck. He's not going to make it easy for you.

Points of interest:

He has various verses, some things may change depending on what verse things are in. Details in his design are important and have stories behind them. In his main verses, he has extra strengthened abilities and a little extra chaotic surprise, sometimes. He has a lot of anger issues and is really shit at dealing with other emotions, often turning them into anger, too, because he doesn't know how else to handle things. He likes to think of himself as a villain, but really he's more like an anti-hero. And he's got a whole revenge case he's trying to deal out. He's got some emotional issues that he refuses to talk about, and others he will just spill because he likes to talk about himself. And he's got trust issues.

What they’ve been up to recently:

Well, this varies for people and verses. Things won't be following the same paths for everyone he interacts with. In in his main f.c5 verse, he somehow got himself in a position where he's gotta help protect the Seeds, because of the relationship he ended up in with Jacob. Everything in the B.L verses kinda got put on hold, but these days its after his Arena fell. A vampire verse, in the f.c5 land, has been distressing him. Bloody City (original) verse is getting more developments lately (yeehaw). Depends on what version you wanna deal with, really.

Where to find them:

In general modern times, usually Chicago. In the borderlands, usually Pandora. In F.C3, on Rook Islands, hanging with the pirates. In F.C5, Hope County, usually in Jacob's region. Frontier, the pirate is in Montreal in the company of Mr. Grant and Mr. Pond.

Current plans:

Plans? What are plans? We'll have to see what unfolds. Anything could happen.

Desired interactions:

Enemies to awkward found family member, enemies/rivals, slow burns of any kind of relationship (because its almost always a slow burn with him), helping him learn to cook maybe? (his whole fear of stoves and fire issue man), dad bird dad bird dad bird dad bird (has an accidentally adopted daughter in some verses btw), etc.

Offered interactions:

Uh, do you like problematic little shits? Do you like conflict? Stories are boring without conflict, after all. And it makes the good times so much more worth it, you know? If you for some reason want him to work with you, however, the price is gonna be a little different. Because he doesn't care about money.

Keep an eye out for random IC posts, they happen a lot, and are generally open to anyone if they don't have a tag. (I don't always tag ic posts but I do always tag any trigger warnings when I think they need it.) Since tumblr is going to be a jerk and not let me post my cosplay, I'll go ahead and write down my review for the movie.

I'm writing this a couple days out, so sorry (and correct me, i love discussing this movie :3)if something's not correct. I was also writing this in-between breaks at work lol.

There will be spoilers, so you know the deal. I will tag it as such but you have been warned. :3

I'm also putting a read more divider cause it is looooong lol.

My fiancée and I went to go see the dub. He hasn't seen the series since s1 and I made him watch the recap but I felt the recap didn't explain everything to really get a full understanding of the importance of this movie and the characters, but I do appreciate having it. (I think I'll use it in the future for explaining to those I talk to that haven't seen the series, cause have you ever had to explain the series to someone that has never watched it before? Lol)

So we'll start with The Dub

I was favor of the dub in the beginning. I don't mind either sub or dub, but dub is easier for me sometimes when I'm drawing or doing a craft and don't have my eyes always on the screen. I was happy to see that all the original cast came back for this, as I know through their dvd commentaries that they have a real passion for the series. The start of the movie felt a little awkward to me, almost like the VAs were trying to find their way back into their voices. Frederica's voice I think was a little off, a little quieter and softer than I would have imagined hers to be. I know a few people don't like Kate Oxley's voice for Akane but I think she did an excellent job at Akane's break down in the end. It felt very raw and believable.

Plot

Overall I was very pleased with the plot of the movie. After getting context for everything in the movie after reading spoilers from Japanese only showings with no subtitles, I felt that the movie went way deeper than my first impressions. It was a nice surprise to have what feels like a less all over plot that we have gotten in recent years. My fiancée throughly enjoyed it even though he didn't know most of the backstory and I had to fill him in on a few things. His comment for Shindo after the wedding was "nooooo, he kills himself?" Which I replied "yep". There was foreshadowing for both Saiga's and Shindo's deaths but I felt that it was done right. Not too obvious, but enough that it wasn't overdone and you could pick up on it. One piece of context that was filled in for me that I found interesting is that Shindo was an upperclassmen to Saiga, and Saiga warns I think Akane? About Shindo and how he uses people and in sometimes dangerous ways, and that Saiga wonders if one day he'll end up getting hurt from it. And then guess what happens!! I know Saiga warns Akane about Shindo because of his shady methods to get what he wants, and I can't remember when in the timeline, but she asks Mika to do a background check on him.

As for Shindo's foreshadowing, he has a conversation with Akane and invites her to Kei's and Mai's wedding, where he gives that weird speech lol. Sadly I can't remember too many details but I know the way he has his last talk with Akane made me pick up that his suicide was soon, a product of sibyl supplying him with a gun and making him accept responsibility for all he tried to do. You couldn't wait until maybe a day or two after the wedding?? Lol.

I liked that Saiga and Kogami got to talk again. One of the only remnants of shinkane in this film (yeah there wasn't a lot sadly :() comes from Saiga telling Kogami that he shoukd apologize to Akane (which leads to that awkward phone call where it seems like he kinda? tries and fails as they made him a stoic and manly pride type of personality. I don't really like how cold he is at the start of the film either but I almost see a little bit of it as maybe he's been away and around so much violence for so long that this is the only, in his weird Kogami way for him to act. I do think it's no excuse tho for erasing any trace of the shinkane we have, as that relationship is special to many of us and not always for romantic reasons.) I did have a laugh at later when Saiga asks him if he did apologize to which he replies "I don't know what you are talking about". Come on Kogami! You know he can tell you are lying!

I did like that our bad guys had a more religious and cult like approach this time. I feel that's a topic that hadn't been touched in the series yet and finally the movie's title Providence made sense. These guys are dangerous enough to pose a threat, and our heroes get hurt several times. Plus they were a special group for SAD that went rouge, which is so interesting to me. Tonami is the leader of this group and aims to get the Stonskaya documents that can predict wars before they happen or can escalate them to one's favor. He also either helped develop or came across an ai (can't remember details) that he found could pose as a God and he controls his soldiers with a chip(?) in their heads that he can turn on and off at will. Kei's brother Akira is part of this group but is revealed later that he was a double agent( I was surprised at that!) And that he burned his face so he would not be recognized. Shindo sadly kills him later as he fights control for his body from Tonami.

(Trying to finish up here, god this review is long, thank to those that are still with me lol)

I'm gonna try to jump ahead to the end. The scene of Akane's unspeakable deed (lol) was very well done. You have Sibyl forcing her to take Shindo's position, which I got the impression that she didn't want it. And yet it was another Sibyl covering up something bad, sweeping it under the rug and trying to silence Akane more. Akane's whole thing through this movie is that there still needs to be laws, cause Sibyl will and has failed to protect people. So she realizes that she has to do the unthinkable and show that Sibyl is not as invincible as people are pushing for it. Her letter to Kogami was a great scene, with him realizing at the last minute what she was going to do and that he couldn't do anything to stop it as he was locked up. My fiancée was so surprised and it was great to hear his reaction, as he hadn't seen s3 and didn't have the context clues that we all have had lol.

Overall, I thought it was a very good film and great tie in to some pieces missing. I'm still not sure why Sugo and Gino joined SAD tho? That part might have gotten lost on me.

Shinkane

Sadly there wasn't much. I could say that was my only disappointment, along with Kogami's character towards Akane. As other's have said, it seems that he realizes too late. Like maybe he was trying to keep his distance so he can continue to think that she's the same pure inspector he's always known. I love Saiga's quote to him that "she's not God or Budda" so hopefully moving forward there will be something (despite what the writers say!!) as he greats her so warmly at the end of s3. As he swears to get her out and then he's not the one who does it! He might have some competition lol.

I also want to point out that I loved the soundtrack! I was happy to see Ling Tosite Sigure and Egoist back, cause I feel like it's not fully Psycho Pass without them. But! I was listening to the Providence soundtrack before I saw the movie and it's soooo beautiful, so give it a listen if you have always loved the soundtrack like me. :3

So those are some of my thoughts. I will gladly discuss them with anyone if they want. Also to correct anything I got wrong lol.

(Hey, so I'll very much be posting the end of the event soon and then it'll be back to the story. I've definitely had fun during the event and it's given me a chance to have a bit of a break from the story so I can consider certain things and plan certain things for it. Sorry if I didn't get the chance to answer your ask or respond to any responses to asks I sent. I definitely had a lot going on these past two months and tried to squeeze every possible moment with drawing so I could answer as many as I could.

Was Destino 100% in character for this? Maybe not 100% but it was just a bit of fun. I know some people don't care for the whole human version of characters but it was a nice change of pace for me. Will this event affect the story or Destino and Felix? That will depend entirely on what you all decide in a post that will come up.

It does mean I've had the chance to find a new way of drawing Destino and the crew which you'll definitely see in the next part. It may take me a bit longer for drawing updates from now, considering I'll have a whole new set of backgrounds I'll need to draw. It's like I've made an entire world or something. It'll also take a bit more time because there's certain things I'm gonna add into the backgrounds that hint to future things and the general lore of the world.

I'm certainly looking forward to the next section of the story. We'll get to see Hope's home turf as well as meet some different characters. Hope's friends, family and other Pokémon that she knows. And, ultimately, I'm looking forward to the start of Destino's journey on the surface. It'll be interesting for them to see how the world that has existed above them has been affected by the removal of dark, ghost and poison types. All exciting stuff.

Thank you to everyone for sticking around for these past couple of months while I've been doing this event. Hit 360 followers which is nice. I'm hoping I'll be able to send my characters out for asks when I'm fully back into the story. I'll create a post soon for asks.

I have got another side blog for Singularity and his family and that will provide some context for this blog and it's world. There will be some things on there which will reference the events on here as well as provide some history for events that have happened. It won't update as much as this blog because my priority will always be this one but I'll still try to update once a week or couple of weeks on there. They will also be there for legendary Pokémon interactions. Heck, Singularity has definitely started some relationships with other Pokémon during the event so I'd be keen for him to interact more with those Pokémon.

Where would I put Chris Pratt in the DCU?

It's no secret director and now head of the DCU James Gunn loves himself certain actors.

He continues to add additions to his DCU from past work, including Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner and brother Sean Gunn as billionaire Maxwell Lord.

While these castings are both fun and exciting for the future of the DCU, since both of these castings, a realization came upon me. Jame Gunn will likely cast many of his friends into this universe. And while most are talented, accomplished actors, there is one man who has been looming over my soul...

Chris Pratt.

No do not get me wrong, he is a talented actor. From The Lego Movie to Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt has a way of impressing me. Granted every now and then he is a Mario or an Owen Grady, but he continues to be a big star and be a draw for financial success. Which is kind of the problem.

I worry if Chris Pratt does join this universe, due to his stardom he likely will be given a major role. Granted I don't think Gunn would make him Batman, but could Peter Safran? Could larger execs?

He's a big white guy and a big draw. By that logic, he could play The Flash, Booster Gold, Green Lantern, or really anyone he chooses.

So in order to save those for actors who I can more properly see as those characters, I put together a few roles I think Chris Pratt can play in the DCU, some more fun, some more serious, some more longterm, and some for a fun one off, ending with the one I like most.

Let's start by going over a couple of things like:

What is Chris Pratt good at?

A lot actually.

Chris is very good at playing characters who are losers. From Star-Lord, Barley Lightfoot and Emmett, Chris voices or plays lovable underdogs really well.

Chris also loves playing army guys. It's clear from the Terminal List and Tomorrow War, he likes to be a soldier. Perhaps we find something military for the guy to do

The man can do funny, but has range. Particularly in James Gunn flicks, Star-Lord has some really emotional scenes that resonate every viewing. We don't have to go silly.

Other Stipulations

No matter who we pick, Chris Pratt will be compared to Star-Lord. It may be wise to stay away from characters like Star-Lord (so you won't be seeing Adam Strange, or Booster on this list).

Chris is also a draw right now, and a busy one at that. If he is entering the DCU, it may be smart to give him a vital role, but not one that needs to be in every movie. So we're probably not looking at Hal Jordan, but Kilowog isn't off the table.

Finally Star-Lord didn't wear his helmet at all last movie. So I'm guessing we'll want to pick a character where Chris can show his face.

5. Kite Man

We're starting off our list with a bit of a joke turned icon much like Pratt himself.

Kite Man is a C list villain who is often the butt of a joke and never taken extremely seriously. Chuck Brown uses Kites to commit crimes, and while he is an excellent glider, he's rarely ever a threat. He appeared in Batman the Brave and the Bold but is mostly known as a background character in the Harley Quinn Series.

While the character is usually around Gotham City, he could absolutely be put in any city in the DCU and make just as much sense. He could be fun as a one and done Batman villain, but even more fun as a recurring villain, kind of like Turk Barrett in the Netflix Marvel shows.

He's silly, pathetic, but likable, and leaves a lot of room for Pratt to make it his own. It feels like going back to his Andy Dwyer days, which could be fresh at this point.

While this is fun and I would love it, I don't know how overall useful this is of Pratts skills, or if him being so big takes away from the fun of Kite Man. It may be too small or too frequent for the mans schedule as well, but I thought it was worth a mention.

4. The Ventriloquist

If we wanted to tap Pratt's voice work and serious acting, The Ventriloquist is a character I've been hoping to see for quite awhile.

Arnold Wesker is a crime is a meek meager man who has a psychotic break and uses a puppet, nicknamed Scarface, to execute crimes and become a mob boss.

This is a a great duel role I think a comedian can strive in, and one that can push Pratt into another level as far as acting goes. It could put him in talks with actors like Paul Dano or Heath Ledger for the greatest Batman villain.

It also wouldn't be a role Pratt would have to do for long or frequently. He could be the start of the Batman trilogy and die in the first film.

My main concern is if he can pull off the meager nature of Arnold. I think an actor like Charlie Day, Ty Burrell or even Will Ferrell might put in a performance that get people talking about it much more.

Again I wouldn't be mad at it, it would definitely be a different and weird pick. But not my first choice for the character or Pratt.

3. Jor-El

I kind of love this one.

Jor-El is a role with big potential for a star. Being played by both Marlon Brando and Russell Crowe, it may require a modern day mega star. Is Pratt that mega star?

Utilizing Pratt here would be extremely different then how we've seen him before. He would be militaristic and more dramatic than we've seen him before. Plus he's big enough to believable be Superman's dad.

It may be smart to put Pratt in an older mentor role. But will he be too distracting as Jor-El? And is his voice as iconic as Brando or Crowe?

I think it's still a role I'd be happy to give to Pratt. But I have two more I think would be more fun for his set of skills.

2. Jay Garrick

He'd look pretty good in the tin hat.

Jay Garrick is the original Flash, a speedster who is often over 100 years old and a major mentor to Barry and Wally.

Now he may be very old but is often much more spry due to the speed force. And we can age up Pratt using VFX or just give him a little gray in the temples. Depends on how old you want to make him.

Having Pratt as the original Flash Jay Garrick would hint at a larger DC Universe, one with a Justice Society, and him play a role much different than Star-Lord.

As Jay, Pratt would be crucial to the universe but not as needed in the big team ups as Wally or Barry. If he did want a prequel, we can set one in WWII similar to the Justice Society movie.

As The Flash, Pratt can be funny, charming, but now wise and mentoring, which would be a good change of pace for Pratt. This would be a lock for me, if there wasn't a role I think he may nail even better.

1. Pat Dugan - STRIPE

A sidekick. A has been. A loser. Connected to a wider DC Universe. A Mentor. An inherently silly character. Very midwest.

Chris Pratt is Pat Dugan.

Originally the driver and sidekick for the Star-Spangled Kid who eventually became Star Man, Stripesy finds himself mentoring the younger new Justice Society after his step-daughter Courtney discovers Star Mans staff and becomes Stargirl.

Due to being useless in the past, he creates a make shift Mech suit known as STRIPE and uses it to fight evil with his step-daughter, who both form a special bond.

Pratt would be hitting many of the keynotes he's great at while playing a character extremely different from Star-Lord. Unlike Peter, Pat is very human, and relatable. He was not accepted as a hero during the Justice Society days, so he has something to prove, and feels tremendous guilt for what happed to his old team.

This would be a great role for Pratt. As secondary lead, he could appear in big team up movies, or stay out of the fight and be a mentor character only. He'd have a huge impact on the universe, be a window into the past, and play a role that is dramatic, funny, and gives us something new and different from what we've ever seen from Pratt.

I don't know if he should be, but if Chris Pratt is joining the DCU, he should be our STRIPE.
