au where the umbra staff doesn't exist, so when Cyrus kills her, Lup goes looking for her family, but by the time she finds them, Lucretia's already erased their memories
she doesn't know that Barry asked Taako to kill him before he forgot everything, so when it comes time to decide what to do, the obvious choice is to go find her brother.
because they've been together their whole lives, so she knows how to convince him she's telling the truth about who she is and what’s going on. (and because no matter how much she adores Barry, her brother will always be her other half).
it isn't that hard to find him, what with the new life Lucretia has set him up in, and it’s even easier to convince him about who she is.
(taako isn’t usually the kind to take strangers at their word. but he knows, without a shadow of a doubt, that this girl is his sister. there’s a million and one ways to change your appearance with magic, but it’s impossible to fake the way she fills up all the empty parts of his life, the way he can feel her movements like an extension of himself, the way they finish each other’s sentences without thinking about it.)
together, the two of them decide what they’re going to do. lup explains to taako why she thinks Lucretia is doing what she is, and they come up with a plan of action for how to find the missing members of their family.
barry is the first to come, and he’s the one that actually finds them. he’s just bought the machine to grow himself a new body, and he wanted to check on taako once before he forgot about him.
after his tearful reunion with the twins, things get a lot easier. there’s time before his new body will be ready, so the two liches leave taako with a stone of farspeech, and split up to find the other three members of their party.
everyone knew that merle had wanted to live on the beach, so lup heads straight for the beach dwarf communities, and after a few months, she finds him.
barry doesn’t have as much luck in his search for davenport. they end up searching high and low for him for years, but never get even a hint of where he might be. they trust lucretia to not put him in danger, so they give up on finding him until after they confront her.
taako’s the one that finds magnus, by pure coincidence. his show ends up in the quiet little town of raven’s roost, and when he sees the big, hulking fighter in his audience. there’s something familiar about him, and it takes a moment of thinking for him to realize that he fits lups descriptions of magnus to a T.
once the show wraps up, taako goes up to talk to him, and the two of them go out for drinks that night, along with magnus’ wife julia. when they invite him to stay with them for the night before he moves on to the next town, taako accepts, and when they finally have privacy, he breaks the news to them. it takes an hour or two, but finally they come to an understanding.
by the time the five of them have all reunited, about seven years have passed.
they know lucretia will probably be keeping an eye on all of them, so they stay where she put them, but they keep in contact with each other with their stones of farspeech.
they know she’ll be trying to find the grand relics, so they set out to do the same. that’s a bit hard to do, though, when three of them can’t even remember what they’re looking for.
in the end, they don’t end up having any luck until one day, they realize that slowly, the thb are subtly being manipulated closer and closer to each other, until one night they end up at the same bar, and are hired by gundrun for a quest. lup and barry, in their lich forms, are pretty sure that this is lucretia’s doing, and they’re curious where she’s going with this, so they urge the boys to go along with it.
it’s a bit weird, because even though they’ve been in close contact all these years through their stones, they haven’t actually met each other in person, save for that one meeting between taako and magnus years and years ago. but the more time they spend with each other, the more taako feels the same way he did when he had met lup - like some part of himself that he hadn’t known was missing had suddenly returned to him.
they complete their quest, stumble upon lup’s corpse at one point, and meet an orc whose words get all staticky in their heads.
lup and barry can understand her though, and they’re excited when they realize how close they are to the phoenix fire gauntlet.
the boys end up retrieving it...successfully (you know, aside from the whole destroying phandalin thing).
killian takes them to the moon then, to join their organization which is headed by none other than Lucretia.
there’s mixed feelings all around - they miss her, this woman they don’t remember, because they can feel she’s a part of them, but they’re also so bitter about what she’s done to them. taako has learned to love his sister over the past decade he’s come to know her, but he wants to know her the same way she knows him. he wants to remember their childhood together, wants to love her the same way she loves him (because no matter how precious she is to him, it never feels enough. there’s no way he can make up for a century’s worth of feelings in ten years).
they agree to help her though, because they want just as desperately as she does for the relics they unleashed on the world to be retrieved. but even as they help her gather them, they continue to prepare their plan to stop her from erecting the barrier spell.

Not drawing stuff today so have a Davenport-centric AU I’ve been thinking of for funsies!
[Haven’t decided on a fun name yet tho - “Lucretia gets Yeeted AU”, “Edward and Lydia Joyride AU” or “Johann is harassed by a Giant Invisible Jellyfish AU” are probably the best ones I got so far for levity’s sake. Or just “Animus AU” for brevity’s sake?? Anyway - there’s the Animus Bell, Lucretia has Bad Luck and Davenport gets a job.]
Set up
Basically, Lucretia fails in Wonderland. She spins slightly different on the wheel and instead of giving up time, she has to give up some memories - that she refuses. Since the Animus Bell lets the Wonderland Liches see contestants’ memories, they see something interesting and decide, “Oh let’s not let this one go”, and don’t offer the Escape Game.
Lucretia eventually lands on Bad Luck and ends up experiencing an “Arms Outstretched” moment without someone stretching out.
The twins saw Lucretia has some things they very much want: a cool plane-jumping ship, a jellyfish that eats memories, and a potentially powerful vessel who can’t currently fight them (i.e. a voided Davenport).
Lydia possesses Lucretia’s body and Lu-Lydia and Edward make their way to the ship.
Davenport, even in his Voided state, can tell something is Very Wrong and somehow ends up breaking Fisher’s tank and accidentally drinks some of the ichor.
He’s too dazed but recognizes, whoever this not-Lucretia is, they can’t have access to whatever Fisher’s power is and manages to distract the twins and make Fisher undetectable - Fisher escapes but Davenport also gets soul-yeeted.
Edward possesses Davenport (they use illusion magic, I’m sure they’re pumped about having a vessel who can do high level ill. spells).
Meanwhile, Kravitz is having a field day cause super-death-criminal Lucretia just showed up in the Astral Sea out of the blue in utter anguish. Then a second one shows up and Lucretia is not having a great time.
Plot things happen and Lucretia and Davenport manage to strike a deal with the Raven Queen - for one year* they help Kravitz and try collecting the Relics and save this Plane from the Hunger. If their term of service runs out and it turns out they’re lying about the Hunger, they go to the Eternal Stockade forever. (*a period of time subject to change)
Fun Stuff to Consider
LUCRETIA AND DAVENPORT.
Davenport is mad as hell but he has to work together with Lucretia (and chaperone Kravitz) while their goals are different.
Lucretia feels awful but still believes her actions just and vows to not fail again.
Lucretia still wants to find all the relics and enact her Barrier Plan. Davenport does not necessarily want to find all the relics - just the Animus Bell because they’ll find the Starblaster too - and initially wants to leave this plane to its fate and try again.
Davenport “lives” in this plane and grows attachments and is conflicted about just leaving. He would still chose to leave for the Greater Good I think but that’s interesting to think about (he deffo has a moment with Hurley and Sloane natch).
Kravitz having to work with these two powder kegs.
Davenport and Lucretia working together on a dime to casually sabotage Kravitz’ efforts to catch Barry but also trying to use their new powers to search for Lup.
BARRY. Does he see possessed Lucretia and Davenport?? Does he know they’re possessed?? If he does, how does he react knowing they might be dead?? Or does he see Reaper Luc and Dav?? Barry this was your Relic’s fault!!
Edward and Lydia’s bonds can make the Bond Engine run Very Well
Fisher still finds Johann cause it hears his music and proceeds to hang out around him cause it likes his songs. Johann is distressed cause invisible force is eating his music and suddenly he can’t remember his songs but also he realizes it likes his songs so he gives it concerts.
Johann and Possible Eldritch Creature Friendship ™
Then Fisher splashes Johann and suddenly HOLY SHIT JELLYFISH cause he ended up drinking some ichor. but he’s the only one who can see them??
Key Plot Points
Edward and Lydia try using the Animus Bell to bass-boost the Bond Engine to summon Keats. (I also like the idea of Edward-Davenport studying manuals trying to figure out extra-planar physics and being like, “HAVING THE KNOWLEDGE DOESN’T MAKE ME UNDERSTAND IT”)
Either they tear a gigantic hole between planes or Magic Cycle it and drag the Astral Plane into the Prime Material Plane.
The baby Voidfish! Johann co-raising Junior. Possibly Johann writing a song so good, the Voidfish ends up broadcasting the song and EVERYTHING LUCRETIA VOIDED. There is some chaos.
All of Faerun know the Birds and that a terrible horror is coming. I admit I haven’t thought of how the general populace reacts to this knowledge as much but Lu-Lydia and Daven-ward take advantage of their bods’ sudden celebrity status.
This is earlier so Governor Kalen hasn’t gotten his revenge on Raven’s Roost yet. Magnus remembers and Julia lives dang it. They team up to go and find the Relics and the other birds.
Merle had already left home and parleys, trying to reunite the birds (he can’t summon the undead - or else would he summoned Lup right? - so he fears the worst when he can’t contact Barry, Lucretia or Davenport.)
I can’t decide when Taako is at this point but he’s on a war path LUCRETIA. (He might deflect from the THB and go off with Barry to search for Lup later on??)
Tres Horny Boys and Julia are back together and go relic hunting (they probably head for the Chalice first since that’s the one they know where is)
Lucretia and Davenport probably try steering Kravitz away from the THB in case they suffer divine retribution.
The THB+1 run into Lu-Lydia and Daven-ward without knowing about the possession.
That’s all I have so far (I can’t figure out how Lup fits in ;; !) - I’m not planning on doing anything with this but I’m having fun with it

taz au: taako in raven’s roost
-Taako’s on the run, and has been for the better part of a week now. Glamour Springs is far in the distance, Sazed is gone, and so is his show. He has no idea what he’s going to do with his life now. Cooking was the one thing he was good at, the one chance he had at making a name for himself in the world, and now he’s fucked it up beyond any hope of recovering. Who would want him around now?
-He knows it’s still not safe to stop driving, and there are probably still people after him, but he doesn’t know where to go, and he’s just... so... tired...
-You could head to Raven’s Roost, he realizes all of a sudden, and in his exhaustion, he doesn’t realize that the thought is not his own, but rather a Suggestion spell.
-It makes sense, though: his show in the Roost a few months ago was received especially well, and there’s no way that news of the Glamour Springs incident has traveled that far yet. He surely won’t be able to stay there forever, but it’ll be a good place to hide out for a few days while he gathers his thoughts and plans his next moves, so he checks his map and plots a course.
-Barry watches with relief as Taako abruptly takes his stagecoach off in a different direction, towards Raven’s Roost. His family may not remember him or each other, but that’s not going to stop him from reuniting them.
-Meanwhile, not nearly as far away as Taako would have expected, Sazed stumbles across a job opening under the employment of a governor named Kalen.
-Magnus is the first person in Raven’s Roost who recognizes Taako, and immediately asks if he’s here to do another show. He specifically requests the thirty garlic clove chicken, to which Taako naturally doesn’t respond well.
-(Unbeknownst to Taako, Magnus broke down in genuine tears the last time he ate Taako’s chicken at the Raven Roost show. When Julia asked why it had such an effect on him, he replied: “It’s familiar... but not too familiar. But not too not familiar...”)
-Taako explains he doesn’t cook anymore, which prompts a lot of questions from Magnus, but Taako refuses to elaborate other than admitting he’s in a tight spot financially at the moment and asking if there’s any cheap lodging around. Magnus, being the rustically hospitable man that he is, offers Taako the spare room in the Waxman household, and Taako accepts because hey, a free room is a free room. (Even if you’re pretty sure the guy offering it to you is only in it because he’s still holding out for the chance of free food.)
-So Taako settles in to life at Raven’s Roost, doing odd non-food related magical tasks every so often to earn a little extra money. He tries to teach some of the local craftsmen basic transmutation spells, to help with certain tasks that are hard to do by hand, but Julia is the only one who shows any sort of proficiency for it.
-He’s bracing himself for news of Glamour Springs to reach the town, but it never does. He still doesn’t cook for anyone but himself, though.
-He does call out a lot of advice from the sidelines when Magnus and Julia are cooking. (”Don’t stir the cream in, fold it in! The texture you get from folding is the best part of the whole dish!” or “Try a little more rosemary! Everyone underestimates how much rosemary makes a good roast.”)
-Eventually, Taako and Magnus have a heart-to-heart, where one day Taako accidentally blurts out the truth about why he stopped cooking, and Magnus reacts with a lot more sympathy than Taako expected.
-“Maybe you could come up with a magical way to check whether any dish is safe to eat,” Magnus suggests gently. “You know me, I’m no good at magic, but aren’t there, like, divination spells that could do something like that? Would having a spell like that in your arsenal help you get over that fear?”
-Even Taako has to admit that Magnus has a surprisingly good idea for someone who’s allegedly never dealt with divination magic in his life, and he takes the advice to heart. Taako spends the next few weeks searching for all the divination-related texts he can get his hands on, trying to develop an absolutely foolproof spell that will always catch any deadly transmutation mistakes he’s made...
-Except he’s distracted more and more often now, because conflicts with a certain Governor Kalen are heating up. More unjust laws and unfair taxes are being imposed upon Raven’s Roost, and whispers of a rebellion fill the Craftsmen’s Corridor, especially the Hammer and Tongs.
-And Taako’s normally not the type to stick his neck out on other people’s behalf, but the Burnsides-Waxman family has been doing nothing but sticking their necks out for him lately, so...
-He lends his magical talents to the rebellion, and they demolish Kalen’s forces battle after battle. Kalen only has a few loyal magic users on his side, and none of them hold a candle to Taako. (He’s been casting much more potent spells ever since meeting reuniting with Magnus, just as Magnus as been fighting better ever since meeting him.)
-It’s frankly humiliating how quick and decisive the uprising is, and Kalen grows furious. He’s ready to muster all his remaining forces for one final decisive attack, more focused on revenge and racking up a body count than on victory, when his personal chef proposes an alternate idea.
-Kalen makes a very polite public announcement where he agrees to relinquish his control over Raven’s Roost, and encourages them to democratically elect a few representatives who can negotiate a peace treaty with him. He’s tired of conflict, he claims, and wants to remain on good terms with the inhabitants of Raven’s Roost if they’ll forgive him. Unsurprisingly, the town elects Magnus and Julia.
-Kalen has a mansion in Raven’s Roost that nearly the whole town is invited to on the night of the peace treaty signing, and he provides a grand feast at no expense to any members of the rebellion. But as the food is being laid out on the table, Taako recognizes not one, not two, but three of the dishes as recipes he developed specifically for his cooking show, and subtly casts his new divination spell on the thirty garlic clove chicken...
-The results are immediate and unambiguous. It’s full of arsenic.
-Taako invites Governor Kalen to sample the chicken first, since he was so generous to provide it in the first place. Kalen awkwardly refuses. Taako shouts that no one should eat the food, and rushes off to the kitchen.
-Sazed is caught off guard when Taako barges in, and freezes him in a block of ice that leaves only his head exposed while Taako rummages through the cabinet and finds several opened bottles of a variety of different poisons. Magnus drags Sazed back out to the dining room, where he confesses both to the attempted poisoning of Raven’s Roost and the recent poisoning of Glamour Springs. Kalen tries to flee, but he’s vastly outnumbered and quickly overwhelmed, and he and Sazed are both thrown in prison.
-With the threat dispatched, life in Raven’s Roost returns to normal — no, better than normal. The Roost is peaceful and prosperous in a way it hasn’t been in years.
-Taako is both the best man and the chef at Magnus and Julia’s wedding.
-He opens a restaurant soon after, in an old building that Magnus and Julia help him renovate. It’s not world famous or anything, but in Raven’s Roost and the surrounding settlements, it’s widely loved.
-Eventually this weird old dwarf wanders into town, gets a taste of Taako’s food, and breaks down in inexplicable tears of nostalgia much like Magnus once did. Merle decides he wants to stick around for a while, sets up a little stand in town where he serves as medic/lie detector for hire, and for some reason Taako and Magnus can’t help but emotionally adopt him.
-(Barry watches as Merle arrives and as he chats with Magnus and Taako for the first time in years. Even without participating in the conversation himself, he feels the bonds holding him together grow stronger with the knowledge that at least part of his family is together and happy.)
-Life is good for a few years, but everyone is growing restless. Merle wants to spread the word of Pan, Magnus and Julia want to learn new techniques from other carpenters from around the world, and Taako wants to build his brand outside of Raven’s Roost to attract new customers to his restaurant. So the four of them decide to spend a year or so traveling together, and set off in the general direction of Neverwinter.
-They run into a distant cousin of Merle’s, who offers them “the last job they’ll ever need to take,” and figure the more money to fund their travels, the better, so they take the job. As in canon, they meet Barry Bluejeans, find the Umbra Staff, and are lead to the Bureau of Balance, where all of them are inoculated.
-Julia has to exert a lot more effort than the Tres Horny Bois to resist the thrall of the relics so she doesn’t become a Reclaimer, but she makes a kick-ass Regulator alongside Team Sweet Flips, and accompanies the boys on some of their more dangerous missions, like the Miller Lab and Wonderland. She’s a transmutation wizard like Taako, but also boasts a lot of physical strength and a battle-axe proficiency that many of her opponents don’t see coming until it’s too late.
-After Refuge, she’s the only person that Magnus shows the contents of the scroll to, and she helps him piece together the existence of a second Voidfish. On the day of Story and Song, she fights alongside the Bureau of Balance and the seven birds.
-Julia and Magnus move back to Raven’s Roost after the Hunger’s defeat, and run the dog training school together. Barry and Lup are usually pretty busy with their reaper duties, but they get a house there too, where they spend a lot of their vacation time. And Taako has his school of magic to oversee, but in the summer when fewer classes are offered, he heads up to Raven’s Roost too on most weekends.

Are you still accepting AUs? Here’s one: Lucretia fails an important wisdom saving throw and falls under the thrall of the Bulwark Staff
- After erasing the memories of her friends, Lucretia certainly isn’t in the best state of mind. She has her plan, which is the only thing that keeps her going, but for the first time in a hundred years she is really and truly alone. She will open her mouth to make a joke, and realize that Taako isn’t in the kitchen, cooking to deal with however his day has been going. More than once she got a small injury and started to call for Merle before remembering, and then she went to get herself a bandage. Sometimes she finds herself heading to Davenport’s room to ask for advice, and it takes far too long before she remembers that, wait, he isn’t actually who he used to be. Needless to say it all stacks up, and so when she goes and reclaims her staff the whispers of you can protect them all sound really, really good.
- Lucretia doesn’t form the B.o.B. because she doesn’t want to put anyone in danger. She is strong, and people don’t need to be hurt in her quest. She can do it all herself, can’t she? Because really, when you are the shield that defends the world from the ever approaching Hunger, you don’t need anyone else. You just need to be a bulwark, strong and alone, and you can find all those other relics by yourself. She keeps Davenport with her as best she can, because even with what she has lost she knows that a wandering gnome with nothing but his name wouldn’t survive well out in the world, but for the most part she goes it alone. No secret organization, no Moon Base, nobody there to patch up the wounds that she gets in Wonderland, but it’s fine. She has a shield, and she is a shield, so that hurt is all negligible.
- Getting the Animus Bell is difficult and Lucretia does still lose so much, but she has much more experience with the Light of Creation than the Vogue Elves do. She keeps her staff with her, and keeps up her shield, and separates the twins because she knows how twins are. She sat and observed for a century, and now comes the time for that knowledge to be put to good use. After a fight full of light and glowing white barriers going up against crackling electricity, Lucretia emerges victorious with one more grand relic, and her campaign to save the world is well on its way. The world doesn’t know what she is looking for, thanks to the voidfish – now being tended to by Davenport – but she is still able to ask leading questions, and the next relic that she makes her way to is the philosopher’s stone.
- She hears wonders of magnificent feats of transmutation magic, and even though the rumors bubble up and disappear just as soon as they arrived, it does not take her long to find Taako’s relic. She has been alive longer than most any human, after all, and she knows how to do her research. The collection is surprisingly easy, with the two pieces of the light that she has already collected calling out to the third, and someone else might call it anti-climatic. Instead, she just fuses the relics and calls it a day. Not out loud, though. By this point she has forced herself strong and silent and alone, and though no one would get close enough to discover this, her skin was beginning to grow hard, strengthening into armor as she prepared to stand as a shield around the world.
- Lucretia continues working her way through the relics, growing in power and conviction with each one. The craveability diminishes any other goals that she may have had, and while no other relic captures her with their thrall the way the staff did, she finds herself sinking into a haze of power and searching and drive to protect. Davenport is left to tend to Fisher, and it is easy enough to do even in the state that he is in. Lucretia left pages and pages to be fed to the voidfish, and Davenport isn’t so far gone that he can’t do simple tasks like taking care of himself or putting paper in a fish tank. After a while, though, stuck on a ship that makes his head hurt, running out of journals that he can’t read, alone other than a strange creature, Fisher decides to take matters into its own tendrils. It splashes the gnome with water until he sputters, fog clearing from his eyes, and says first, Lucretia? and then, ever the succinct captain, well, shit.
- It becomes a race against the clock: Lucretia must find the rest of the relics, and Davenport has to find the rest of his crew. The tough thing is, is that some of those papers that he fed to Fisher? Yeah, they were about where Lucretia had placed the rest of the birds. Not the best organization on her part, but hey, she was possessed by a magical item that she had made, it wasn’t totally her fault. Finding Taako was easy enough, as Glamour Springs hadn’t happened yet and Sizzle it Up! was still going strong. Davenport snuck into Taako’s stage coach and waited in the shadows until a show was over which, hey, wasn’t the greatest plan, but it was a power move and he knew that Taako could respect those. He hoped, anyway, but when Taako refused to drink out of a weird vial that a stranger foisted upon him, a command spell might have had to come into play.
- Together they found Merle, because where else would a beach dwarf be but the beach, and it wasn’t very difficult to inoculate him. Davenport just had to say I dare you to drink this- and before the sentence was through, Merle already had his memories back. As a century returned and the faces before him swam into new relief, the stars in the sky above all opened their eyes and the night became filled with the Hunger’s scouts. Elsewhere on Faerun, a Lucretia with hard skin and a glowing staff dropped an empty piece of fabric to the ground and looked up at the sky, and those eyes were reflected in the pure blank whiteness of her own. She was more than halfway through, and she was so close to saving the world. She was going to protect everyone, and even if that “everyone” had become something of an ephemeral goal, it was one that she would stand by.
- Finding Barry and Magnus was difficult, but at least Barry knew who he was, so they decided to go there next. Finding as many necromancy magazines as they could, they published a small ad saying something along the lines of Barry Bluejeans, we’ve remembered, come back to the Starblaster. - Your Captain, Your Brother-in-law, and Merle. They reunite, and Taako jokingly apologizes for killing Barry, and lich Barry shrugs as best as he can, and things feel like it’s just another cycle. A timer was ticking, after all, and the past year and a bit feels more like a fever dream than anything. Merle abandoned an infant kid and Taako dropped off the face of the earth after rocking his show, and now they just have to stop the apocalypse. Their usual plan has a wrench thrown into it, however, when they find Magnus.
- Reports of a revolution led by Julia Waxmen and Magnus Burnsides filter their way up to the crew, and when they journey down to Raven’s Roost they find a wedding taking place. Magnus looks happier than they ever saw him over the past century, standing in a gazebo that has carvings with ducks on the trim as he watches a woman approach down the aisle. Without thinking Barry puts an arm around Taako’s shoulders because he knows that Taako is always ready to crash a wedding, but this isn’t going to go down that easy. Magnus has made a life, and he looks happy in it, and he probably won’t be willing to just up and leave this time around. Merle spikes Magnus’ drink with the ichor, but in a shuffle of glasses Julia is the one to drink from it. Maggie? she asks, in an awestruck but nevertheless confused voice, before her eyes land on where Davenport, Barry, Taako, and Merle are standing. The dwarf shrugs as she starts walking over and the other three just stare at him as he says oops.
- Shenanigans aside Magnus gets inoculated, and in all of their plans to avert the apocalypse Julia is there too. Suddenly, any plans that they had of just up and leaving at the end of the year were out of the question, because Magnus wasn’t going to run away and lose Julia. They ran for a century, after all, they had to stop running at some point, and this was just the impetus needed to make it happen. Reports of a glowing woman start showing up on their radar and at first it gets glossed over because the woman is described as being in her fifties and Luce, the little sister of the Starblaster, would have no reason to be that old. Things started getting more and more funky, though, and when they realized that she was looking for relics of tremendous power, there’s a dawning sense of horror. Davenport hadn’t known what Lucretia was trying to do, not when he was in that fog of lost thoughts, but looking back on it something had seemed off about her, and this new information doesn’t bode well.
- Now, their goal shifts from finding where Lup might have gone (although Barry and Taako don’t give up, and barely get any sleep between the two of them) to finding Lucretia and dealing with that situation. The one time that Davenport suggested that they might have to stop her and that it might go poorly he was shut down, Magnus’ that’s Lucretia overlapping with Taako’s Nuh-uh, Cap’n’port, not gonna happen. Even as the rumors of the glowing woman got more and more worrisome, with stories of her putting folks in impenetrable spheres and the like, the remnants of the IPRE crew decide that they won’t fight against her. For one thing, with her having the Light it would likely be something of a losing battle, but more importantly, she’s a part of their family. Even if she was corrupted by the craveability of the relics, the Lucretia who wrote their stories and lived those stories for a hundred years still has to be in there somewhere.
- Lucretia finds Wave Echo Cave, as well as the Gauntlet and umbrella that it contains. From within the Umbrastaff Lup instantly knows that something is wrong as her old friend approaches; it would be impossible not to. Lucretia glows from practically every pore, and her eyes are a blank white that stare with the intensity that Lup always was used to, but something about it is wrong in a bone-deep way. Her grip around the handle of the umbrella feels like steel and she is silent in her movements, but there is always the slightest of smiles on her face. It’s a serene smile, one that says I’m so close to fixing things and I can make everything okay. When Lup watches Lucretia absorb the power of the Phoenix Fire Gauntlet after tearing apart the vault doors with nothing more than her gaze, she tries to summon everything at her disposal to escape. It’s taken her this long just to come to her senses, though, and all she can do is emit a few sparks from the tip of the umbrella. They go unnoticed in the bright blue-white light that Lucretia is giving off, and there is nothing that Lup can do but watch as her friend sets off again, footsteps measured and echoing in the empty cavern.
- Davenport remembers the approximate area where he left the oculus, and the squad heads there next, arriving at the same time that Lucretia does. Davenport gets it first and goes on the defensive, free of the thrall but unwilling to attack her. Even with how she stands so firmly on the ground, shoulders back and eyes blank, he can still see the mousy ghost writer that he picked to go on a journey to the stars, and even as she easily cancels out every illusion that he creates he is unwilling to hurt her. The others are pleading with her, trying to talk any way that she can, and Taako’s voice breaks first when he realizes that she has Lup’s umbrella, where did she find her, and Julia gets knocked aside and Magnus runs to her, only for her to push him away as a rogue wall of magic gets flung between them, and Merle is trying to use his magic to break Lucretia of the thrall, and when that doesn’t work he tries talking to her because he still remembers the lost century and how she could get so focused and he would help bring her out of that state and let in a bit more of the world-
- And it’s like the world is ending, it really is. Walls are flung up and the last members of the IPRE find themselves separated as Davenport desperately tries to illuse them to safety as best he can, but then he gets knocked back and the monacle in his hand falls to the dirt, cracking with a quiet noise. Light starts to flow out of it towards Lucretia, and then the Umbrastaff opens up and swallows the remains of the oculus. See, it was made to consume the power of defeated magic users, and even though it wasn’t what had struck the final blow it still had a job to do. Lup felt stronger than she ever had as she breathed in the piece of the Light, and cracks began appearing in the handle. Lucretia, startled for the first time in at least a year, dropped it, and for a moment the umbrella balanced perfectly on it’s point. Then, with an explosive boom that lit up the sky with a red as bright as Lucretia’s light, a lich hovered in the air, phantasmal and resplendent.
- “Luce, what the fuck!” Taako is laughing, and then Barry is too, even as he’s crying, and Magnus whoops and Davenport chuckles and Merle starts clapping, and Lucretia’s placid smile cracks a bit, one edge turning up in a way that could almost be interpreted as joy instead of simply serenity. “I can appreciate the look, but really, what’s going on?” Lup’s voice is loud and despite the seriousness of the situation she sounds so, so happy. She floats down a bit from where she had hovered about five feet above Lucretia so that she can look her friend in the eyes, blank though they may be, and her voice softens. “You’re still in there, Lucretia, right?”
- The clinical blue-white glow emanating off of Lucretia begins to fade in the brightness of Lup’s fiery form. She opens her mouth for the first time to speak in over a year, and the movement of her jaw feels like stone. “I have to reform the Light.” Her voice is scratchy and worn with disuse and her eyes are still so blank, but it’s the first sign that Lucretia is still in there somewhere. “I have to save everyone. I have to protect-” She pauses, thinks about who she has to protect, thinks about the details of her grand plan instead of just the mission statement, and the glow from her eyes begins to fade, just a bit. “I have to protect all of you.”
- “Luce, you did a great job with that,” Lup says, and puts a hand on Lucretia’s shoulder, and it feels strange. Magic meeting raw magic, fire licking against stone barriers, the first touch that either of them had felt in so long, and Lucretia’s skin began to soften, just a bit.
- Magnus steps up, and him and Julia support each other in equal measures. “Yeah, look at me and Jules! You gave me a life and, sure, it didn’t stick, but you took care of all of us!” The others approach, and Barry and Taako both look like they want to run to Lup but are holding each other back, and Davenport has a limp but he still walks right up to Lucretia. “You don’t have to do this alone,” he says, and that breaks through. Lucretia sees her friends, her family, and she doesn’t feel bricked in or claustrophobic, she just feels safe, and isn’t that what she’s been chasing this whole time? Her staff starts whispering to her, saying that she’s not done yet, she still has so much work to do, the Hunger is there, can’t she see that she has to fix everything-
- “You’re not alone, Creesh,” Taako says, and for the first time in so, so long Lucretia’s hand opens, and her staff falls to the ground with a clatter that feels very small considering the moment. Her eyes come back, brown and welling with tears, and she isn’t glowing, not anymore, and she’s soft and herself again as her family swamps her in a hug. After what feels like forever they break apart and Barry and Lup are holding onto each other so tightly, and Taako busts in because this is his sister, Barold, take a step back, and he’s crying but everyone else is too so it’s not like they’re going to mention it.
- “So, you’re Lucretia,” Julia says, arms crossed and one eyebrow cocked. Lucretia just gives her a small smile, words still sticking in her throat as tears keep streaming down her face because this is all so much, after so long being alone she has her family back, and now she doesn’t know how this perfect stranger is going to react, but then Julia pulls her into a tight hug as well. “Thank you,” she says, words muffled, and Lucretia nods and lets herself relax, just a bit. After everything that’s happened, she lets herself believe that she deserves it.

i love magnus so much and he's been breaking my heart more and more with each arc after crystal kingdom like. "tell julia i love her." and the entire backstory of her and steven from the eleventh hour, "i love you, jules" and the way travis's voice breaks during that line but ultimately deciding not to take the chalice because it's not the way she would have wanted things to go? struggling so much with the confusing knowledge the voidfish gives him and keeping it from the other boys for so long, desperately breaking rules that ordinarily he begrudgingly followed, trying to understand what it all meant? hating the dating show so much because julia is it for him- dating's just not even on the table- easily denying the relic's offer of immortality because he knows now that julia is in the astral plane and that when he dies for good this time he'll see her again? choosing to give up the memory of the corrupt man who caused the death of his wife, mentor and so many others, losing a finger and ten years of his life but not diminishing the potential sacrifice taako was facing because he understands that different things are equally important to different people? acknowledging that he used to be kind of an ass but making sure it's known that julia had such a profound impact on his life, becoming a better man because of her influence while she was alive and even after her death, continuing to be a good person at heart? being inspired by carey's performance and asking her to train him to become more composed, more efficient in battle instead of just rushing in, spending weeks working hard to achieve a higher skill level while teaching her one of his own, and becoming good enough friends with her that he essentially makes an engagement ring for her to give to killian someday without making a big deal of it? his desperation to get the new body from the tank no matter the consequences, not because he wanted his youth back but because in the mannequin he was frustrated at not being able to effectively continue to protect his loved ones- and “those are the arms that held my wife!”? his persistent attempts at communication with the voidfish and commitment to help it get its baby back despite not knowing anything about it or what risks he would face because of his deep love for animals? being so incredibly proud of the duck he made in the conservatory, not for what it was but for what he’d put into it, all the work he’d put into slowing down, taking his time to put a lot of effort into it but being embarrassed by it when he presented it at the ceremony because it was knobbly and stained, whispering “it’s not perfect, but it’s the best that i can do.”? honestly that line really sums up magnus for me because he throws his all into everything he does and it may not be perfect, it might not be thought through all the way, but his heart is always, always in the right place, and that’s why i love him. i could go On but my point is i love one (1) ruffboi. i'm going to be so sad when i have to say goodbye to him next arc. i just hope he has a good ending after all he has been through, and that he is actually reunited with his wife when his time comes

one thing about taz that will always stick with me is how good magnus treated taako. after losing so much, he easily and genuinely offered to suffer more so that taako didn’t lose his looks. he understood how much that meant to taako without even needing it said out loud! and then, in the final battle? when the bond engine offered them a way out? he didn’t even hesitate when taako said he had to go back to lup. he just said that he understood with no judgement in his voice. when he reunited with julia and began to tell his story, he introduced taako by calling him “the most beautiful elf”. he’s such a fucking ride or die and i’m so glad that when taako thought he had nobody, he had magnus.

do you ever think about the fact that after magnus lost julia he was suicidal and didnt care if he died in battle and then even though he didnt remember his friends he slowly found family again? and that slowly his choice of death changed from in the middle of battle to of old age? i think about that constantly
yes! yes!!!
magnus burnsides lived for a century longer than he should have, saved dozens of worlds, and made every effort to save all one hundred. he fought for every one, and created bonds that transcended realities. death was nothing to them, but he strove to live at least long enough to fight to the end of each year.
magnus burnsides arrived on faerun, and went along with a plan to stop the hunger. magnus, they tell him, make something very powerful that you can never use. he makes something that could have fixed everything.
magnus forgets.
he forgets, but the exhaustion remains. a century of fighting, and he is so ready to settle down, even if he doesn’t remember it. so he does, and he is so happy, for a while.
julia dies.
magnus goes adventuring. he falls so easily into a routine he doesn’t realize his body remembers. he’s great at it, but he’s barely present. his mind, unable to settle in the past, waits for him in the future: the next time he will see julia.
he isn’t detached, exactly. he’s magnus, and he loves easily. so these new people he’s around--he loves them. they’re close, and he fights to protect them, but he is not afraid to die. he has long been ready to die.
a couple of times, magnus sees his companions nearly die, and he knows he would take their place in a heartbeat. but, he realizes, not just for julia. he would do it for them. he doesn’t want to die yet. not while he has something to protect. there is so much to protect.
magnus remembers.
there is reuniting, and saving the world, and a long time after that,
and when magnus is really, truly ready,
he sees her again.

Northern Migration- Chapter 21 (Notes + Preview)
We’re finally out of the Suffering Game, so you know what that means! We can finally move on with our lives and stop being anxious all the time in case someone else manages to get their souls kicked out of their bodies. But hey, let’s reflect fondly on our times here in Wonderland with our final set of notes for it. Like always, be sure to give the actual chapter a read but if that doesn’t float your boat then I guess you can just sink (jk).
Spoilers Ahead!
So since the previous chapter was a break from the slough that is Wonderland, I tried to make the opening scene a refresher of what’s going on, where everybody is standing, and what condition they all are in. Hopefully, I worked or else that fight scene got real confusing real fast.
I mentioned this a long time ago, but when I started this fic, I forgot that Avi is a massive jock. Like, he has two character traits and I completely forgot one of them. In order to convey my falsehood that he’s a nerd, I made sure to emphasized at every given moment that even though he has a sword, he has no idea how to use it. Now that I know better, I’m starting to incorporate the fact that he’s a jock back into the story. In this case, by having him jump onto a mob of mannequins and just brawling it out. I’m going to make the fact that he carried around a sword he did not know how to use a sort of character beat (that I’ll hopefully actually remember to go back to), but just know that I do notice when I make mistakes like that and there are times when I will do my best to reconcile my fic with canon.
In another instance of revisionist writing, I also did not realize that Maarvey is the leader of the Hammerheads until I was relistening to the Petals to the Metal a while back. Of course, I already wrote in a new boss for the gang, so I guess they’re married now. Guys, the Hammerheads are going to be so insignificant in the long run. Please don’t think about it too hard. I’m trying.
A whole lot of you were getting super excited to see Merle rescue Barry, and I was so sure you guys all forgot that Sloane was following Johann around. I don’t blame you guys for forgetting since it was actually months ago, but now I just feel foolish for not sticking a reminder somewhere in the story.
Lydia and Edward’s fighting styles as Lucretia and Taako are, of course, twisted versions of the magic the people they’re possessing are known for. I made sure to only have Edward use spells only Taako knows, which was actually super fun to write. I chickened out a bit with Lydia since some of the different ways I thought barriers could be used were a little bit too gruesome for my taste.
Also, I really hope that fight scene wasn’t too confusing to read. There were too many things that had to be happening at once for me to choose one character’s perspective to stick with, but a lot of the sequences were way too short for me to break up with lines. I tried doing this sort of long shot effect where I started with one person and used things from the environment as an excuse to track the camera to someone else. So for example: Julia in trouble > Davenport can’t reach her due to beam > Ren can feel vibrations of the beam. If it was too confusing to read, just say so and I will never use this format again.
Where do I start with Ren and Lup? Remember two chapters ago when Not Taako first appeared and the umbra staff flew from Ren’s hand into his? That was supposed to be Lup thinking that Taako had come back to her, so when she realized seconds later that this is a fake, she zapped him. No one seemed to have caught onto that, or at least no one told me they did. So in this chapter, when Ren senses Lup being upset, this is Lup essentially thinking that Taako is gone forever.
I imagine that the umbra staff’s ability to help Ren know where everything is in a given space is the same ability that Lup uses to spread her senses beyond the umbrella. Essentially, Lup handed over her sense of sight to Ren so that she could “see.”
I never mentioned Killian having different types of crossbow bolts before because???? I don’t have a good excuse?? So sue me???
I actually had to look up spells for this fight scene so I guess I’m officially putting more work into this than I first said I ever would.
I hope with Kravitz’s arrival in this scene is a good indicator of how differently time passes on the Astral Plane. His arrival also marks the spot in the story where I should have spilt this chapter into two parts but oh well.
When you really think about it, bardic magic sounds terrifying. Anything can count as being music, so like you really got to be careful not to insult those suckers or else they’re just gonna scorn you.
I apologize if the POV got really wonky for the second half of the Hammerheads scene. Again, there was a lot of things happening at once, and the moment Barry went unconscious, I was having problems finding a good perspective to anchor the rest of the sequence on, especially since I wanted to give Merle some kind of moment in this chapter but I also had to explain Johann’s plan. It got real messy and, once again, I am so sorry for that.
Okay, so I wrote the song Johann sings. And by wrote, I mean I threw some lines with a rhyme scheme together and called it a day. It’s like not good at all, and really it’s super bold of me to claim that it’s the most beautiful thing Sloane has ever heard.
We’re going to talk a bit more about Stevie and John because I still have more to say. Stevie and John’s subplot is my favorite to write, and I am very excited that I can now start giving you guys a real idea of where it’s going. Initially, when I first started writing this story, I knew that I wanted John to play a major role before the story’s climax and I knew that I wanted Stevie to be more than just decoration for her parents. Putting these two together has led to some ideas and plot points I can’t wait to show you guys and I really hope that you’re as down to see them as I am. Everything I said in the in-chapter notes about Stevie having a good ending is true. Right now I am on the fence about how this will end for John because I can either let it end with him redeeming himself like in the original show or I can make it an excuse to reinforce his villainhood. Tell me when you guys would rather see, and I’ll do my best to make it happen.
Also, you know how John says he forgot Stevie’s name, giving her the opportunity to say it again (and essentially introduce herself for the first time without her realizing) and how Stevie never catches on that she got played? I once watched a Harry Potter movie where something like that happened and I remember thinking to myself “damn, that one smart kid for realizing they’re something fishy in someone doing that” and that’s where this was born from!
Also, I hope Stevie’s choice at the end there makes sense because I didn’t want to overstate it since it really is a culmination of her character arc so far.
Julia hitting Not Lucretia with her prosthetic leg and yelling “horseshit” is the best moment in this fic thus far.
The ending of actually collecting the bell is really rushed but the chapter was getting really long I didn’t want to have to spilt it up into two parts. I hope it does work, and whatever you think needs more time to breathe will probably get more air in the next few chapters.
I debated if I wanted to let Taako’s line be the ending note for the scene because, on one hand, I had a completely different moment in mind where Taako reunites with Magnus and realizes that he’s missed out on so much. But that lined happened and, even though I don’t have Taako say that catchphrase a whole lot (since he doesn’t actually say it a lot in canon) it felt like such an emotional peak that I knew I could not do better than that. The chapter had to end there because Taako saying his own name just felt right.
So I’m going back to school in a couple of weeks, which means that updates are going to slow down to a crawl. I’ll do my best to keep you guys posted on how things are going writing wise, but please feel free to drop in and strike up a conversation about anything. I am a lonely person and I always like hearing from you guys. In the meantime, please enjoy this preview for the next chapter:
It’s been a long time since he’s had to mess with the gurney. It’s made from a light wood, carved from Magnus’s deft hands. Taako puzzles over it for a moment, trying to figure out how the intricate straps are supposed to work when the mystery woman interrupts his thoughts. “Just help me sit right there,” she says, pointing to one end. Both her teeth and red bandana are bright against her dark skin, and his eyes hurt to even look at her.  “Just sit opposite. I’m pretty sure it’ll balance itself out.”
“Yeah. Fine. Sure.” He’s not heartless, so he grabs her arm and drags her close enough to the gurney that she can pull herself on. It’s hard work, and the sweat that drips down his back is as unpleasant as he remembers it being. She shifts, makes sure she has her sword and shield strapped to her back. When he takes his designated spot, she tells her stone to lift them up. The ground disappears under his feet. From this high up, he can see all that remains of Wonderland—nothing but a pile of junk and rock. He spits down at it.
A second later, he hears Kravitz’s distant but still clearly disgusted shout. Taako cackles.
[...]
When the gurney reaches the deck, the murky feeling from before comes back in full force. He jumps over the rail, feet landing on the familiar wood. It’s the same silver railing, same layout from stern to helm. After all this time, nothing’s changed. Sure, Lucretia is laying on the ground with Davenport still worrying over her, but that doesn’t count. Everything else—the scratches on the wood where battles had been fought, the carving of their names by the helm for future prosperity—is still here in mint condition. Nostalgia sweetens his lips, punctuating every step of movement as he spins and takes in the sight of home. This is home.
And there’s Magnus. He’s standing by the buttons that operate the gurney lift, eyes wide as he stares at Taako. He’s older—thicker in some parts, worn out in others like a bruised shield. But his smile is the same as he takes three large steps from the buttons and engulfs Taako in a hug. “Holy shit—Taako!”
Taako wheezes, every rib cracking. Magnus’s arms are thick and strong, and Taako can’t deny how great the feeling of being affectionately suffocated is. “Ey, big guy—”
“I thought I was never gonna—”
“Momma!” At the sound of a girl’s voice, Magnus drops Taako. Hug over. His hands stay resting on Taako as the little human girl who is peaking out from the steps below deck, hiding for a moment longer before racing up to the gurney.
Taako feels Magnus’s hands leave him. “Jules,” he says, his hand now brushing over the little girl’s head as he approaches Julia. His mouth agape, he tries to find a place to start. His hands hover over Julia under she takes one of his and presses it to her cheek. His other hand copies it, and Taako can see the gold glint of a ring on his left finger. “Jules, what happened? This is… what happened?”
Taako stares at the ring, then at the loving sadness in Julia’s eyes. He looks down at the child, and a part of himself he really hates can piece the narrative into a whole picture. “What the fuck?”

Hey in the young taako au where he's magnus's adopted son, that means Magnus left and when he came back he thought his fil wife and SON were all dead and that's fucked up. That fucked him up. Reuniting in Gerblins was probably a bit of a tearful affair; here's his boy and he's ALIVE and he's grown up so MUCH and why did he run away where has he been and just. Magnus forcibly tucking taako under his boob where he'll be safe
god it’s so good. i imagine taako was away when raven’s roost burned because he was off flirting with a cute boy in a neighbouring town and he came back to the whole place destroyed and he feels so terrible like maybe if he’d been there this wouldn’t have happened? (realistically that’s not how this works but u kno, trauma), and taako is so scared that he’ll get in trouble and that magnus will hate him for living when julia died he just runs
taako panics when he realises he and magnus are on this mission together and he’s freaking out but magnus just hugs him because he’s just so happy taako is alive

finished taz balance and GODDD what a story. carey crying at how excited she is to marry killian, magnus tearfully reuniting with julia in the afterlife, merle spending much-needed time with his kids and starting a bar dedicated to kenny chesney, taako gets to see his sister and his boyfriend all the time, angus mcdonald gets real good at magic! i just love a good happy ending. well earned, they fought hard, pour one out for johann and no3113, but they deserved a break. i’m so glad the world is rebuilding better than before. i love that lucretia is the architect for a world built on compassion and charity

what do u think would have happened if magnus did get pulled into the astral plane in wonderland and have a whole side adventure w kravitz? bc i think about it a lot but i honestly have no idea
I have a theory about this which that I think Magnus was going to Die, essentially? Like, he and Kravitz probably would have had their Stuff to do in the astral plane, and I have no idea what that would have been like, but then they escape and do their bit in the Big Ol Final Battle. And then I think Kravitz would have had to be like, “Well, okay, Magnus, this was clearly an extenuating circumstance, but you are in fact dead and you need to come back with me now.” with maybe the body that Garfield had been growing as a way out if Travis or the others really didn’t like that. But Trav had talked so much about death and reuniting with Julia as his ideal satisfying ending for Magnus -- and obviously that changed, but I can still totally see it as being Griffin’s endgame plan all the way back in Wonderland. & the show would have ended in a more bittersweet way with Magnus saying goodbye to his friends and going to see his wife.

listening to the adventure zone for the first time. I realized at ep. 21 that I wanted to compile some of my favourite qoutes (not just from characters). so here’s that (in no particular order. not even in order of appearance):
“abraca-fuck you”
“i’m really getting this cleric shit aren’t i”
“I’m not a nerd so I don’t know-” “we’re on a D&D PODCAST”
“let me tell you the story of the time an orc punched me so hard I almost died”
after griffin has been complimented for the quality of the campaign. “let’s wait and see how it ends, though, ‘cause lost seemed pretty good too”
“no i’m a flesh boy”
“YOU’RE MY FATHER. YOU BIRTHED ME.”
“i just don’t understand why me understanding the basic rules of dungeons and dragons is like an unfit way to spend our time”
every time taako mocked jenkins not using spell slots
“I have a beating heart! i’m- i’m multidimensional! i’m a fully realized creation. Fuck.”
“let me promise you one thing- are we out of the zone of truth?” “yeah you’re long out of it” “everything’s going to be fine”
“my names not jerry its.... jereeeeee”
barabra telling taako (as jerry) he’ll walk him to the bathroom
“the second ruffian-” “give them names” “c-craig...ory?”
“magnus’ quest for vengeance just... ends” “and OURS BEGINS”
“there’s no vine you’ll never be able to not fuck”
“let’s try that again, and you say yes to my fucking bit”
“hot diggity shit, this is a baller cookie”
the entire section where they kept talking when mushrooms were giving off spores at the sound of their voices and kept having to roll constitution saving throws.
“that is your last thought as a two armed man”
everything starting with justin going “i’m going to cast a spell called eldrics black tentacles” and ending with “MY NAMES KRAVITZ”
^side note: kravitz why did you actually give him your name when that was what he was asking
kravtiz “what the fuck is wrong with the three of you” when taako eats that crystal piece
unrelated to the above event  “oh no it’s a vore thing!”
“tell julia i said i love her”
“how’s elvis?” “...still alive”
“it sounds like you’ve given me an even better lesson- a new mystery to solve!” “oh fuck”
“blizzard can you get off my nuts for a second!”
“it’s seventh level......necromancy” *slightly distant, loud laughter*
“what was the last thing you said?” “i said i love you jules”
“but it’s not... what julia would want. so i’m gonna have to pass”
the entire section where justin is being given the left or right choice and everyone is losing it bc he was literally told earlier in the arc
“this figure in the red robe... is you”
the entire section of taako convincing garfield to sell the sword to him for a useless item. (especially griffins “oh my god”s when he realizes what’s going on, and a quieter one a few seconds later)
“[....] he just looks like a smaller taako” “griffin- a taquito?”
“i’m gonna say the pocket workshop can only sustain 2 boys at once though, because i don’t want you to have an infinite bag of boys that you can just put boys inside”
“welcome... to the monster factory!” *laughter*
“flipping off is a free action”
griffin describing taako transforming, before saying “and turns into... a tyrannosaurus rex”
“i’ll be having my body back, you undead fuck”
“okay... you pee while holding two flame throwers”
“listen... light them the fuck up”
“huh... i feel sad.  and he kills you”
“our capacity for love increases with every person we cross paths with throughout our lives and with each moment we spend with those people. ”
“it delighted in your company, magnus, and it still does.”
“today is going to be one of those memories”
“if she were to look under the table, she would see that his legs are visibly trembling in absolute panic”
“you are home... here... in cycle 99″
“sometimes there aren’t right decisions sometimes there are just... decisions.”
“when someone leaves your life, those exits are not made equal” (and on)
“this is it.... this is it”
.”Those are the arms that have held my wife”
“i have nothing, and i don’t give a shit. the world is ending, and i don’t care”
“hell yeah, dungeons and dragons is back”
“no i’m gonna leave all that in” “no griffin no”
“should i talk slower so everyone who’s been complaining about us not playing d&d has time to nut?”
“You’re dating the grim reaper?!”
“i’ve got magic powers.” “was that supposed to be some big reveal?” (and on)
“it’s upsy... your lifting friend” *laughter*
“i’m a wizard, my name is taako, and i’m pretty- well- fucked”
“no dogs on the moon”
“i’ll take one taco, with extra destiny” *laughter* “yeah, fuck it, i’ll teach taako how to make a taco”
“thanks for not ripping my arms off, magnus”
“whats up ghost rider”
“it says thanks for reuniting it with it’s kids [...] and it says, you’re even”
the entire section of  “and __ walks over to __” during ep 68
“but that stops here”
“hear that babe? we’re legends”
“and then... you see john smile”
“i’m allowed to ask the dm one question, and he has to answer honestly” “alright go” “did you have fun doing the adventure?” “yes” “okay!”
“you know the best part of the fantasy costco? free samples”
“much like the best science on earth, you’re double blind”
“i reach into my fucking bag and grab my immovable rod. i’m not going fucking anywhere”
“you hear a voice through this rift say, you’re going to be amazing”
“and then... light”
“Johann was right! We won!”
“i know about the silverware”
“sorry, so you want to be earl merle?”
“not just because you saved the world, but, because i know how hard you’re trying”
“we see you one last time, as... magnus rushes in”
magnus’ entire speech to carey
“that was the world you made, that was the ending you earned”
“the story of four idiots who played d&d so hard they made themselves cry”
[commitment ver] [Amnesty]
