Great question for Congress! What are you doing? Some of these children dead now weren’t even alive during Sandy Hook. It’s hard to think that maybe if action was taken back then these children would be home making plans for the summer instead of in a fucking morgue.

IMO, telling congress to pass legislation that averts a strike by imposing a contract rejected by the majority of union members, even if it is somewhat amended to partially cover the demand workers were threatening to strike over, is not a good idea. Averting a strike is not a natural good, it is only good if it is because the strike was averted due to the agreement of the workers with their contract, not because congress stepped in to enforce mediation. The good thing would be to tell your congresspeople to quit it with the scab shit, if the railroad bosses won't avert a strike by agreeing to a fair deal, there's no reason congress should be stealing the worker's leverage by forcing them to work with a substandard contract, and that's what I think your senator's office needs to hear.

my dream at this point is to live outside of the U.S, to never use an American dollar again, and to never pay a cent in American taxes again. the U.S treasury exists to subsidize the purchase of U.S weapons. any money spent on education or healthcare is an accident. and I want nothing to do with it.

let’s be real—the only reason mccarthy won on this particular vote is because it literally turned into saturday in dc time and the anti-mccarthy republicans were like “jesus christ FINE i want to go home and sleep i guess he can win”

I voted by mail in so I know that there are still ballots to be counted, but it looks like we are going to be stuck with the same house representative in this bitch of a district and I want to gnaw on her skin like a feral dog does a carcass

ARGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! I CANT VOTE TOMORROW THIS FUCKING SUCKS

So fucking, let me get this correct, useless excuse for a healthcare system USA. I have to pay a fee to a center to get a fucking egd done, that the center won’t take my fucking insurance for, and then I have to pay forty percent of the cost of the egd to my surgeon, because my insurance isn’t required to cover any more than that, if I haven’t reached some magical goddamn deductible.
Then I also have to pay all of what the anesthesiologist charged! Because insurance wants to fucking whine and scream and throw a fit about the person I didn’t fucking hire and was supplied by said center not being in their special group of people they made a deal with, and that’s completely legal? And there’s no fucking way around this?
Like, at this point it feels like the people in charge actively want us to fucking suffer, and I wish they could fucking suffer at the hands of the system they created and keep sustaining, but that won’t happen, because they fancy themselves gods and get put above it all, because they get to make the fucking rules.

I understand now. I understand all of it.
All those times politicians claimed something was "too complicated" "not that simple" "we don't have the money" it's all lies to keep us complacent.
They did it about the situation is Israel. "It's too complicated" everyone said. It didn't look complicated when I did my own research, away from those shitty think pieces talking down to me. Israel was a state built off the blood of Palestinians, and they simply do not want you to think about it. Because there is oil in the middle east and Israel is our only "Ally"
Wow, so complicated! The complicated part being that our media is tricking us into thinking this is so complex so they can be evil in plain sight: yes, so complicated of a situation!!
And today I wake up to find that the House of Representatives (the lowest level of US government) has passed a bill offering 14 billion to Israel! It will go to the Senate to vote. Wow, billion with a B huh? I got a question for you.
Where the fuck did we get enough money to fund genocide? Where the hell was all this money when it comes to supporting the Americans you politicians claim to be representing? Where was this money for free college, universal Healthcare, covid precautions, the climate crisis??
"It's just too complicated! You'll make us do cuts on other programs! You'll make us raise taxes!! Think of the taxes!!!"
Then where did this money come from? Oh, the IRS, the fucking company that handles our taxes??? Yeah????? That was an option? Why wasn't it an option before but it is now? Were they over funded and we just didn't notice until now? Or are you taking advantage of the situation to cut funding to another service you hate?? The point being: if they really want something, they can find the fucking money. They haven't because they don't want to.
It's never been complicated. It's their job to move money around. It's their fucking job to raise our taxes and provide for us, but the only people they truly represent are the ones filling their pockets with lobby money. They could have done this long ago, given us what we've been demanding, but they coddled us and said it was too complicated and our baby brains couldn't handle it. And God forbid you be a woman!! That means you're double unable to understand!
Enough. Fucking enough. Every year congress votes to increase their wages and refuses to raise our minimum wage. Every year they take advantage of their medical insurance and benefits they get for "representing" us when nearly every adult I know is left to suffer with their conditions: untreated sicknesses, chronic conditions, the depression that looms over us because we live in the most wealthy country in the world but we can't make ends meet and our government is more concern with funding armies that feeding and housing us
Politics was never complicated. They just told us it was. To shut us up. To make us feel young and idealistic and stupid. And we fell for it. And now evil is moving through the wills of our leaders IN OUR FUCKING NAMES to support a genocide in the middle east. Their only crime was being born on that land. Their only crime is being Arab. That's not a fucking crime.
Our system isn't complicated. It's working as intended. Keep the people blind and claim that it's too hard, leave all the details to them. But we are smarter than they are. We are informed. The world is connected like never before and I refuse to let their propaganda ever reach me again.
Hold them accountable. Know their names. Write it in the history books. Let their legacy be known to the end of times.
Be loud about your anger. Go to protests. Write your reps to tell them your vote is on the line. And for God's sake vote in the damned elections!
THE IDEA THAT YOUR VOTE DOESN'T MATTER IS PROPOGANDA. THEY WANT YOU TO FEEL USELESS. THEY WANT YOU TO GIVE UP SO THEY STAY IN POWER.
They want you to think it's complicated. It never has been. Be loud. Vote. Use your right to protest. Use your right to free speech. Use your right to petition. Next Tuesday is election day. Make it fucking count.

BREAKING: A Super Bowl parade attendee comes forward and reveals that he witnessed Missouri Governor Mike Parson fleeing in fear when the shooting broke out today.
According to Chiefs fan Patrick Quaife on X(Twitter), he personally witnessed the “gun lover” governor “running scared for his life” beside him with an “army of officers protecting him.”
“I am so sick of these NRA funded politicians. #GunControlNow” concluded Quaife.
In a separate Twitter post, Governor Parson confirmed that he was in attendance at the parade.
“Governor & First Lady Parson were in attendance when shots were fired near Union Station in KC,” his account wrote. “They are safe and secure. State law enforcement personnel are assisting local authorities in response efforts. As we wait to learn more, our hearts go out to the victims.”
Once again, we see that Republican politicians are all too happy inflicting a horrible violent reality on the rest of us, but fall to pieces the moment that they are faced with the consequences of their own policies.
America’s gun problem is a direct result of Republicans and their cult-like worship of assault weapons. Parson has stated in the past that new gun laws will not stop mass shootings — an NRA talking point designed to help gun manufacturers boost their profits.
The tragic shooting unfolded at a rally to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs victory this past weekend. So far, one person has been confirmed killed and over 20 people were shot and injured. Three people have been detained for questioning.
If Governor Parson’s heart really goes out to the victims he’ll start supporting common sense gun laws.
But we all know that won’t happen. The only way to end our gun epidemic is to give Democrats a supermajority in Congress so they can pass gun laws despite MAGA objections.
The Republicans that refuse to support any form of gun control all have blood all over them.

Though the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stopped counting Covid-19 cases, according to wastewater data—which emerged early on as an accurate tracker of the ebbs and flows of the virus—we are currently in one of the biggest surges of the pandemic, amid the spread of a new variant, JN-1, as the virus keeps mutating. More than three-quarters of U.S. hospital beds are currently in use due to Covid hospitalizations. Uptake of the most recent booster shot, which should help to protect against the new variant and lower the risk of severe cases and the odds of getting long Covid, hovers around 19 percent. Meanwhile, the most recent White House response to a question about whether they had any guidance for hospitals, some of which have brought back mitigation protocols in response to the most recent Covid spike, came courtesy of press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre: “Hospitals, communities, states, they have to make their own decisions. That’s not something we get involved in,” she replied, appearing exasperated. “We are in possibly the second-biggest surge of the pandemic if you look at wastewater levels,” said Dr. Monica Verduzco-Gutierrez, who runs a long-Covid clinic at the University of Texas, San Antonio, and has had ongoing Covid symptoms since August 2022. “There is no urgency to this. No news. No discussion in Congress. There is no education.”
[...]
Since the Biden administration declared the end of the national emergency in May, Americans across the political spectrum have largely followed the example set by the government and entirely disposed of any level of Covid precautions. Liberal and left-wing outlets have participated in the normalizing of Covid too, dismissing or even ostracizing people who still take precautions as if they are tin-hat conspiracy theorists. “We can’t be in lockdown forever,” has become a common refrain, as if wearing a mask on the subway constitutes “lockdown.” In September, Biden himself participated in the spread of this kind of harmful disinformation when he declared the pandemic “over” on 60 Minutes. “If you notice, no one’s wearing masks,” he said. “Everybody seems to be in pretty good shape.” This is, essentially, governing via “vibes”—so much for “following the science.”
[...]
The consequences of discarding all Covid precautions are becoming clearer, as more people get repeated infections and long-term symptoms, amid an alarming spike in heart problems among healthy young people. People are getting sick more often not due to the myth of “immunity debt,” which posits that the lack of exposure to other people during lockdown has made people less able to fight off infections (three years later), but because Covid weakens the immune system. Each time someone contracts Covid, the odds of long-term complications increase.

i’m so frustrated lately because. i got into an argument the other day with another person who insists we have to vote for biden or else we’re horrible people. i didn’t really know how to respond because she was sharing that she is worried for her safety if trump is re-elected because she is black and i didn’t think it was my place to dismiss those worries. i pointed out that police brutality has in fact gotten worse under biden and she said “that’s only because of the policies trump put in place, biden doesn’t have enough power to stop that” and i was like “well he bypassed congress to send more weapons and money to israel, he does have a lot of power!” then she started talking abt obama and basically said that none of the war crimes were his fault and that he tried to stop the US from committing them but “no one listened to him and he wasn’t all-powerful.” she also said “there’s no point in basing your vote on the ‘israel palestine situation’ because no matter what we as constituents do we can never stop the genocide so we should think of ourselves first…” im just so sick of this narrative that biden has 0 power to do stop the genocide but we still have to vote for him, why does it matter if i vote for him if he “has no power” anyway???? regardless sorry for the rant
its the perpetual cycle we fall into each election year. but it doesn't really matter does it? we point out the casual disregard of personhood of our families and friends and get yelled at and when nothing good happens here and over there is death and destruction there will be an even louder trump in 4 years that'll make everyone even more scared and will make them disregard the people around the world again and they'll yell at us when we point it out and then when nothing good happens here and over there is death and destruction there will be an even louder trump in 4 years that'll make everyone even more scared and will make them disregard the people around the world again and they'll yell at us when we point it out and then when no
