these nests where dragons and dragonlords lived were probably considered as safe and secluded places that could only be found by them. it is very likely that Balinor's cave was the one he shared with Kilgharrah.

do you think that the dragon's old treasures were still there when Balinor met Merlin? or did the treasures give Balinor grief every time he saw them, so he removed them from the cave? maybe he buried those treasures near the cave like one buries a casket? or did Balinor keep them as a reminder of his guilt or as a reminder of what he lost and why he should remember?

were these treasures still there after Kilgharrah found the cave when Balinor was long gone? did Kilgharrah still hold some love for the treasures that have laid in the cave abandoned and untouched for over 20 years?

did Merlin get time to actually explore his father's cave? did he find the treasures left by both Balinor and his dragon? would he have recognized what treasures were what? had Merlin snuck off one night when he and arthur were hunting close to the cave to look inside, to find glimpses or ghosts of who his father was?

Playing Disney dreamlight valley brings me back to being a kid again. It started with Merlin, but I genuinely just feel so safe and at home again. Like I said, Sword in the Stone is a childhood fave of mine. It just feels so nice to be able to express myself and see some characters from my favorite childhood movies.
