How to Write REALISTIC and SMOOTH Dialogue
In a story, dialogue is quite important, it helps the readers paint a picture of what's happening and the characters themselves. However, it can be difficult to avoid the unnaturalness and choppiness that comes with a lack of experience. But luckily, I have put together A LOT of advice on how you can get over that rockiness and improve!
*** KEEPING YOUR DIALOGUE REALISTIC, AND PACING ***
>> Keep your characters in character:
Dialogue is a remarkably quick way for readers to determine your character's personality. Thus, you want their speech patterns to remain fairly consistent so the audience won't get confused. If your character is more serious, then they will use less slang and perhaps a more impressive vocabulary. If your character is more relaxed, they will use more slang and compress the words. (such as "dunno," "kay," "y'know," etc.)
Basically, you want their tone to match their traits so the way that they talk is more realistic and personlized to themselves. If the way all your characters speak is the same, there's something wrong. A strong tip is to put yourself in your character's shoes and imagine how they would respond!
>> Take the situation into consideration:
This is another part of keeping your characters in, well, character. Different emotional situations will have a different effect on separate people, so make sure that you have an idea of how your character will act during stressful, irritating, and sad times.
If your character is normally cold, they will struggle if it comes to comforting other people because they have less experience in that field.
>> Don't take too long with their words:
Unlike when narrating something, most people talk just to get the idea across. They will be more specific and quicker with what they say. (This excludes any character who likes to talk a lot.) Unless it's on purpose, they won't dance around the topic. Think of when you casually chat with your friends; you're pretty unlikely to use certain words and/or phrases that might be common to use while narrating.
If you want to explain something complicated, instead of writing out a paragraph of just one person talking, use a question-and-answer prompt! This is where another character continuously asks related questions that get answered by another person, so you can indirectly reveal your explanation.
*** HOW TO WRITE A SMOOTHER CONVERSATION AND DIALOGUE TAGS***
>> Having a variety of dialogue tags:
This is a pretty basic thing to look out for if you're new to writing conversations. Using words like "said," every other sentence can easily make it feel choppy and robotic. Instead, use words like "murmured," "smirked," etc. to paint some emotion into their words. Additionally, vary the location of the dialogue tags! They don't all have to go after the statement, you can include something in the beginning or even the middle, too!
Examples:
Beginning - She tilted her head, "What are you talking about?"
Middle - "Oh," he blinked, "I actually never thought about that."
End - "Wait up!" She exclaimed loudly, waving her hands around.
>> Using no dialogue tags to create a smooth conversation:
Having too many tags can also overwhelm your reader--remember, sentence variety is a crucial part of writing--so you can always drop them if they're unneeded. This applies when your characters (two is the suggested amount) are talking back and forth in a pattern straightforward enough for the reader to understand who's talking without it having to be labeled.
Dropping dialogue tags in these moments can create a smoother atmosphere during the conversation because the reader only has to focus on the talking present.
*** USING SLANG, STUTTERS, FILLER WORDS, AND PAUSES ***
Human speech is often not perfect; when talking, we often make mistakes such as filler words, grammatically incorrect phrases, etc. Hence, for more natural-sounding dialogue, it's important to incorporate some of these.
>> Pauses and stutters:
When reading dialogue, we read it at a steady pace unless it's written otherwise. However, that steady pace can soon get too robotic and too smooth. Luckily, there are several ways to change this! You can use dialogue tags, (ex: she quickly spoke) commas, and ellipsis (...). These are often integrated when the character is hesitant, nervous, answering something, or when they need to admit something. The same idea applies to stutters--they're mainly used to demonstrate anxiousness, which can be found in varying situations.
>> Filler words and slang:
Filler words can really just be used where you see fit. They may be used in the situations I previously mentioned (because it shows someone stumbling over their words) but it's ultimately up to you!
Slang, just like everything else, should not be used too often, or it will seem forced and exaggerated. The point is to sound natural, and increasing amounts of repetitiveness can ruin it. It's also important to remember that in real life, our conversations move slower; when someone speaks, another person usually doesn't respond quite literally, right after. However, in writing, dialogue can actually often seem that way, which is why using tags and these imperfections of speech is pivotal for building a realistic conversation!
*** CONCLUSION ***
Lastly, a key point when writing dialogue is to ALWAYS read the conversations! Whether it be in your head or out loud, it can often help you catch anything that seems off! Additionally, like I mentioned at the very beginning, write dialogue from your character's perspective! Imagine yourself as them and how they/you would talk. Try to keep your dialogue tags, sentences, and word use varied to create a natural conversation!
If you were struggling before, I hope that this (extra) long guide was able to really offer you some insight and useful tips! If you read this far, thank you!
Happy writing~

Yo! Good morning/evening, hope you are fine^^💝. I wanted to ask you a question but I was afraid that it may bother you or something (you know..that feeling when you are scared that you might disturb someone or being an unwelcome person) but yeah I will ask you since i was serious about your answer for some time now so I hope I'm not annoying you or something *feel free to answer only if you wish^^. You seem to know the characters pretty well, you are quite capable and great at reading and understanding them, one of the things I'm serious about is what do you think would make someone qualified enough to be with malleus? Do they have to be of the same species?certain Reputation, stature or traits?(sorry can't help it since I can't rest until I know everything about what interests me and figure it all out😅). Thanks for giving me some of your precious time I really like your blog, you're amazing💜
Tumblr media
No worries, you’re not bothering me at all ^^ I love to talk about my hyperfixations www
Now, I know a lot of fans (particularly on the EN side) like to ship Malleus with their OC and especially with Yuu so I want to first make it clear that my response is NOT meant to invalidate those Malleus shippers. Whatever I say here is based on my own interpretation of canon lore (and let’s be real here, TWST won’t ever confirm if anyone is romantically interested in Yuu because it might not work with how some players view their own relationship with that character). In fanon, anyone can be with anyone, but in canon there are very specific in-universe rules and expectations laid out for Malleus so these are what I will be referring to.
I also want to emphasize that the final traits I discuss in this post do NOT reflect Malleus’s personal tastes or views. He has little say in what kind of an individual his spouse would be, so his own preferences are not speculated about or taken into account here. The traits I will be bringing up are based on what I believe the lore implies are the desirable traits for those marrying into the Draconia royal family.
We got it? Good 👍 Read more below the cut!!
Firstly, I’m completely disregarding the ideas of “Malleus can love whoever he wants to love”, “Malleus can scare people into accepting who he loves”, and/or “Malleus can change the law so he can marry who he loves” (a la Sultan from Aladdin or through some other Disney magic or logic). Here’s why:
In general, those solutions for “high stakes issues” are too simple, and that has never been how Twisted Wonderland tackles complicated problems. Just look at every single OB boy’s backstory. They’re so complex that they aren’t totally resolved by the end of their books; these problems persist and are long term things each of them are working on addressing. This is also true of the politics TWST introduces to us; Leona for example explains how there is social pushback and resistance to the idea of infrastructure reform because the culture of the Sunset Savanna stresses harmony with nature. This has made it difficult for them to adopt new technologies because real politicians in their world have to seriously weigh their cultural values with their health and societal progress. The only time there are really easy solutions are in events or vignettes where the emotional stakes are not super high, but who Malleus marries is, in fact, super important since this will entirely change the life of a main character and his country.
With that first bullet point in mind… No, Malleus cannot love whoever he wants to love. Certainly, he may feel affection for another but he can never truly be with them. He is royalty and the only heir to the throne of Briar Valley. It follows that he is expected to marry for political reasons/to better his nation. This is a non-negotiable obligation for him.
Rather than saying, “Malleus cannot scare people into accepting who he loves”, I think it’s more accurate to say Malleus knows he probably shouldn’t. I mean, yes, he may be upset about his S/O not being accepted by his people but I feel that is discrediting a lot of the loyalty he has for his own country. As a kid he may have thrown tantrums when he was upset and potentially harmed staff, but as a 178 year old he has a much better understanding of decorum and maintaining it in spite of his own grudges. For example, even though he personally dislikes Leona he still commands Sebek to apologize to him because, at the end of the day, this could harm Briar Valley’s relationship with the Sunset Savanna. That’s not to say that Malleus can’t be petty (he definitely is)—but implying he would be petty toward basically his entire country just because they would disapprove of the one he loves?? (We know this would likely be true because Sebek’s parents faced similar backlash when they got together.) I feel like his own sense of awareness and responsibility for his country, crown, and people would override that. As an example, Malleus states that he has never been in a car before because the senate would be against it and often kept Malleus in the castle. Someone of his power could easily ignore them and sneak out and do whatever he wanted, yet the dialogue implies Malleus didn’t. He obeyed his political advisors even when he was younger and arguably much more immature. Malleus might not like certain decisions made about his life but it sounds like he ultimately complies with them.
Continuing from the previous point, let’s say for the sake of argument that Malleus does scare everyone into line. What about his public image and the mental health of his S/O? Maybe Malleus can frighten people to not talk out of turn to his face, but he cannot control what people whisper about him behind closed doors or to treat his S/O well or like they actually like them. Not only would they be alienated (away from their own home and forced to adapt to a new one) but they’d be treated oddly by others too. What kind of reputation is that for Malleus? To be a tyrant king who throws a hissy fit anytime someone talks about his partner in a way he doesn’t approve of? With a spouse who is not at their best mentally because of the constant ostracization? (This is similar to what Leona experienced in his childhood.) I don’t think Malleus would want to subject anyone to that kind of life, especially not one he loves. And again, this attitude would be the vast majority of his people. It’s not like it can be avoided or resolved in an easy manner, especially when the people of Briar Valley have proven to be against change.
Lastly, Malleus would not change the law so he can be with whoever he wants to. To begin with, I doubt this is a unilateral position the senate would approve of. But okay, let’s accept that Malleus is royalty so his power overrides the advisors’ power. So he effectively just changed a law for a very selfish and personal reason rather than changing something to actually benefit his people. That doesn’t feel in-character for him, not when Malleus seems to understand that it is the duty of those in higher status to help those below them rather than themselves (see: Riddle’s Suitor Suit vignettes. Malleus has acted selfish before, yes (who remembers Endless Halloween Night? His Dorm Uniform vignettes? I do.)—but never at the cost of changing the status quo of his country. (Book 7 is not included here because he’s in a very distressed emotional state then; this “new law” scenario posits that Malleus is in a normal state of mind.) This is a major change—change which Briar Valley, its people, and most importantly, Malleus, are not ready for. You think there wouldn’t be social pushback against this? From a society that has become complacent with its own way of life and is still isolated from the rest of the world? That Malleus, someone who struggles greatly with accepting life changes himself, could enact such a big change so easily? (On a more technical level, you don’t just pass a law and it instantly becomes tangible or real, there is a process of approval and then implementation.)
Additionally, it’s made clear in Ghost Marriage that “[Malleus] cannot enter into an engagement lightly”, which is why Sebek goes in his place. Eliza, the Ghost Bride, is royalty (er, albeit dead) but it seems that royal status is not enough to qualify as his partner. Maybe this is because she’s dead and doesn’t have anything of value for Briar Valley (no land, no people, no political power), but it could also mean that the partner has to be given the thumbs up by other parties.
All that being said, here are some of the conditions I think would have to be met for Malleus’s future spouse:
Has to be someone of equal or at least high status. This means they also have to be a royal or at least of nobility. This appears to be true of Malleus’s dad, who is referred to as a duke.
Because of how self-contained Briar Valley is + nocturnal fae having beef with diurnal fae, I imagine his partner would have to also be a nocturnal fae. This would also solve the MASSIVE lifespan difference between fae and non-fae because at least fae would be far closer to each other even if their lifespans fluctuate but subspecies.
Someone suited to rule by his side. Being married into any royal family is no joke—it comes with the expectation that you will contribute somehow, and the partner should be fully equipped to enter the world of politics with him.
Piggybacking off the last point, I think mental fortitude is also a prerequisite. This is because being a politician (navigating the social climate both within your country and outside of it, keeping your people and colleagues happy, maintaining public approval, managing laws, dealing with potential attempts on your life, etc.) can be very stressful and can hurt those who are faint of heart or not prepared for the responsibility. Leaders have to make tough calls at the drop of a hat, and they have to be ready for it.
Has a lot to offer in terms of benefits to Briar Valley as a country. This could be in terms of resources, connections, and/or political savvy. This appears to be true of Malleus’s dad, who acted as a diplomat for Briar Valley.
Vetting and formal approval from the senate. lmao good luck with that
Has to be able and willing to have a child. They at least need an heir to the throne to succeed Malleus. (However, knowing how exclusionary and conservative as heck the senators are, I doubt they would accept anything but a biological child 💀)
Preferably someone with powerful magic or is skilled at magic already so as to lessen the chance of “tainting” the bloodline with a weak mage or a non-mage.
I believe that Briar Valley would prefer someone with old fashioned values like them, not someone pushing for massive reform. They have a culture that is resistant to change and a history of fighting for resources with outsiders, so if Malleus’s new spouse tries to introduce a bunch of technology or open its borders to other countries (even if they have good intentions), the people + the senate may oppose them. His father is implied to be open-minded, but he at least understood that such change isn’t reasonable without time and effort dedicated to the endeavor.
All that being said 💦 I think that this topic is actually less about what Malleus as an individual wants and what his country, his people, and, yes, even his asshole senators, want. This is basically an arranged marriage situation so that their country can maintain power and relevance. It’s about the collective and what Malleus must do for their perceived security and prosperity.

There is always a time and place for everything.
Or in other words, you are far too shy for your own good.
Tumblr media
Tsukishima Kei does not like beating around the bush.
He’s forward. Says things as they are. He’s never been one to hold back, and he won’t start anytime soon. He knows what he wants and he gets what he wants.
You, however, are the opposite. You shy away from upfront attention. You’re insecure and your mind plays games with you, and you cannot find ways to control it. You like to keep to yourself—that’s how you’ve always lived—and you don’t see a reason for change.
He is yin and you are yang.
You find balance in the midst of it all. He carries traits of you inside himself (as do you), and you make him better. He makes you better.
He loves you.
Tsukishima Kei has loved you all twenty years of his life.
From the first day he met you—a little boy with bruises all over his skin—he knew that he was destined to be yours. He was put on this earth to love you. To hold you. To call you his.
He shows you that he loves you. Granted, it is in his own way, words laced with a teasing tone that may sound insincere to most. (Luckily for him, you are not most. You are the light of his life.)
-
Tsukishima can’t imagine how lucky he is to have you.
You’re sitting in the cafeteria together, a room full of other students, but he can’t take his eyes off you. You’re fighting sleep, trying so hard to pay attention to the story that he’s telling you, but your mind is astray. You’re on the brink of dreamland, and Tsukishima feels guilty for plaguing you with his morning lecture affairs. He abruptly stops rambling.
“Why’d you stop?” Your nearly-closed eyes gaze into his.
“It’s boring,” he starts, the ever-present frown soon on his face. “You’re tired, anyways. I don’t wanna bore you anymore.”
Your eyes are alert for the first time this afternoon. “What’re you talking about, Kei? I love hearing you talk.”
You raise your head from your arm, finally eye-level with the boy. You lift your hands up to push his glasses further up his nose and Tsukishima loves it.
In all honesty, Tsukishima loves a lot of things that you do. He loves when you run up to him with a smile on your face, nothing new to tell him, simply declaring how you missed his presence. He loves it when it’s just the two of you in his tiny twin-sized bed, bodies molding together and forming one. He loves it when you call him in the middle of the night, asking him to help you with a certain subject that’s been too difficult for you to fathom. He loves it when you’re you, when you never apologize for being the person that you are.
“Tsukishima?”
He realizes that he’s spaced out when he meets your eyes yet again, a slightly bewildered look on your face.
“Sorry,” he smirks, a look you recognize as slyness, “just thinking about you.”
You’re nearly fully awake now, your mind love-drunk and shocked that he could utter such a romantic phrase so easily. Tsukishima is like that - his words of affection stumble out of his lips before he can catch them. His mind is filled with thoughts of you and you alone, and it’s only natural for him to think before he speaks. Maybe he’s weak—he’s not quite sure if he’d call it weakness—or maybe you just light his world up in an unimaginable way.
“Don’t say things like that.”
Your head soon falls into your hands—a weak attempt at hiding your face from him—but all he does is take your hands into his.
“Who are you hiding from?”
He’s too close. You can feel his breath ghost your skin, and you see each individual mole and freckle on his face. You could count each and every one of his lashes if you dared to (you want to, so badly), but you move away before your mind strays too far away.
“I’m leaving.”
You’re up before Tsukishima can blink, and he follows you in a rush to keep up with your steps.
“You’re no fun.”
“And you’re rude and weird and—”
Your face collides with the chest of another before you can stop yourself, and you look up and meet with the eyes of a goddess.
She’s bright. So damn bright. She’s beautiful and some part of you recognizes her from one of the lectures you have with Tsukishima.
She says your name in a sweet, cherry voice, one that nearly makes you collapse at her feet. “And Tsukishima, hi!”
You look in his direction and it seems as if he sparkles at the sight of her. He looks good, you think. He would look better attached to her hip and not yours.
Her name is Lia. You know her because everyone knows her. She’s beautiful, smart, funny, and you’re sure that if she was in love with her best friend, she would have no trouble confessing. She is Lia, and Lia is everything that you are not.
They get lost in conversation and your mind twists and turns against you. Tsukishima would call you dramatic. He’d scold you for your apprehensive behavior and give you courage you would never find anywhere else. He’s all that you see, but why can’t he think the same? Why can’t you be the air that he breathes?
You’re too far gone. All that courage is swallowed up and you need to leave. You need to escape from Tsukishima and Lia and the perfect future that they could possibly build.
“Um,” you interrupt, feeling both their gazes on you, “I need to go. I have a… test. And I need to study.”
Tsukishima grabs your wrist before you can make your grand escape. “What class? I can help you if you need it.”
You forgo his first question, “I’ll be okay. Bye!”
And you’re gone. Before he can question you on your behavior, you disappear from his grasp.
“Couple’s quarrel?”
It’s a joke. He knows it is. Lia is far too sweet to have a bad bone in her, let alone mockingly tease you.
“Oh–we’re not dating. It’s not like that.”
Her head turns in confusion.
“I see you guys sucking each others faces off at nearly every party you’re at.”
He knows what she’s referring to. You’re not sucking his face off, you just like being close to him in a crowded room. And sometimes he pulls you onto his lap and he sometimes likes to whisper in your ear. You’re not dating. He is not yours.
“We’ve never done that before,” he gets defensive, and traces of the ill-mannered Tsukishima everyone seems to know makes an appearance. “We’re just friends.”
“Friends who get jealous of one another?”
“They weren’t being jealous.”
“Don’t be stupid, Tsukishima. You’re too smart for that.”
He thinks. He remembers the look on your face and how distant you were. Would he call that jealousy? Is that how he looks like when he’s jealous?
A lightbulb sparks inside of his brain.
“I’ve gotta go.”
-
He practically runs to your apartment.
Tsukishima doesn’t like to run, but he supposes he’ll do anything to be closer to you.
-
You open your door with a small smile that drops as soon as you see him. A soft oh falls from your lips before you can stop yourself.
He lets himself in before you can protest. “You didn’t want to see me?”
“That’s not it. I was just… studying.”
He looks around and doesn’t find a single book on your coffee table.
“You’re lying.”
You stare him down. Your lips are dry. Your throat is scratchy. There’s nothing you have to say, so you opt for silence.
“Lia,” he starts and your heart drops. You’ve lost and you do not have the resolve in you to fight for his love. “Made me realize something.”
“What is it?” You don’t necessarily want to ask. Your heart beats far too rapidly waiting for his answer.
“I like you,” he makes one step towards you, and you let him. “More than a friend should.”
Time stops. Your heart is in your throat. Tsukishima takes another step closer. “Say something.”
It isn’t like him to beg. But he has never wanted anything as much as he wants you.
“Why me?”
“Because it’s you.”
His answer isn’t enough. You yearn for more.
“There so many other people you could love. They’d be better than me and worth more of your time and—”
“And all I want is you.”
Another step, and you’re eye-to-eye with your Kei. His eyes are clouded with a trace of annoyance. He knows you want him, just as much as he wants you.
“I’m yours,” he says, his forehead on yours and his eyes locked on you. “I always have been. I always will be.”
You’re shy. You always have been. You always will be. You’re shy, and even in the heat of his confession, you find a way to push Tsukishima Kei away.
“You don’t belong to anyone…” you lose momentum, “you’re your own person.”
He knows you. He knows your heart and the depths of your mind. He knows you want to be his, just as much as he wants to be yours.
“Don’t be stupid,” his hands find a home on your cheeks. Your eyes are on his, his eyes are on yours. “I want to be yours. Let me be yours?”
And with his eyes so sincere and true, how could you say no?

Do they think about you? (love)
pick a number 1-5 OR an emoji 🥶 🤔 🤥 🤓 💍
(ps. this reading is for practice and for fun)
1.🥶 Yes, they think about you, you could say at least once a day everyday. This person might think that you haven't really met some real decent guys and that has turned you into quite the ice queen. They think that you think you are entilted to your opinions and attitude. They think you have forgotten that there are people out there, who are kind and considerate and who are looking for a relationship filled with love and compassion. This person wonders, how they could show you that they are different and that there are nice men out there. That not everyone pretends to be nice just to play games on you, but that there are people, who actually are looking for love. This person wonders, how to make you see that there are honest people out there and that they are honest, too. And also, this person wants to point out that females can be worse than males, they can be equally as manipulative as males and blame it all on men, when women can also be the problem.
2.🤔 Yes, they think about you. Perhaps they check your social media once daily. This person definitely finds you irresistible. There is a strong focus on the communication, so they seem to focus on, what you post or text. And then they think about, if to ignore it or to reply and how and what. Depending on your situation they might also think that you are into someone else or dating someone. In that case, they could think they lost the competition. But this person doesn't want nor likes to lose, therefore they are thinking about turning things around. They might be talking about you to their friends asking for advice.
3.🤥 Yes, they think about you, a lot. This could be about a break-up or simply that this person chose someone else over you. But this person thinks that you are trying to create a certain image, to make it look like you are happy and having a good time or that you simply don't mind them and that you are focused on other things. This person thinks that you secretly watch them online and know that they are happy and so you want to look like you are doing great, too, and that you are unbothered by their happiness. In other words, this person thinks you are faking it. They believe that they can see through you and that they know you so well that they are sure about this. They think you are trying to get back at them and to make them want to come back.
4.🤓 A minor yes. This person doesn't seem to want to think about you, but you just end up crossing their mind. Taking a deeper look at the cards, the reason to that is becoming quite clear. This person says it's over between you two, because they are already committed to someone else, but they want you to be the one to end things. So this is someone, who wouldn't block you online or delete you, they want you to do it yourself. But instead, you've become a wild card to them. You are not acting in the way they expected you to. So that's why they haven't been able to completely stop thinking about you. Because you've caught their attention, as your next moves are unpredictable. Also, another thing coming through is this person sees you as someone angelic. They think you are kind but not stupid. They think you are actually quite intelligent. And those traits make it difficult for them to ignore you. They think you are not like their exes nor like their current suitors. Your energy is different. This peron seems to have thought that you are simply nice and kind and that's all there is to you, but you've surprised them by showing that you can stand up for yourself and you are intelligent. Like said before, you are quite the wild card, unpredictable.
5.💍 Yes, they think about you. It seems that something happened and this person feels like they need to be patient with you. They want to date you but they seem to think that you need some time out to repose yourself. So they think they need to be patient with you and give you your needed space. If you are already a couple, they might actually want to level up your connection, but they feel like it's not the right time yet.

✧ — JUNNIEVERSE PRODUCTIONS
PRESENTS !
" spill your guts "
... Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS album
x ENHYPEN !
Tumblr media
WELCOME 💌 : hi everyone, so this is officially my first ever series so thank you very much for being here. I am without a doubt in love with not only olivia's sour album but her guts album too that has been on repeat on my spotify every day. I soon grew inspired to write some oneshots for the enhypen members with songs from this album and I can only hope you all like them.
I also wanted to make sure that these songs gave off a vibe that linked to a certain member and I could easily think of a plot with that member and the song so it wasn't easy since I wanted it to all come out 'perfect' but albeit it was also really fun to immerse myself into these songs and write the stories so I just hope that you all enjoy my work.
I do want to give a small disclaimer too that this is ofcourse pure fictional work and I do not in any way perceive the members to be as toxic or have any traits like how they are in these stories. (Y/n) isn't much of a saint either in a few of these but they are simply a wounded character. Don't hate the character, hate their actions (well maybe we can tomato this toxic enha /hj).
once again, thank you all so much, I appreciate your support greatly :)

— you had known from the beginning that your relationship with jungwon was far from perfect, many would simply put it as toxic because of how manipulative he was but you were too blinded by love that all the lies and deceit felt meaningless. it was too late before you realised how dysfunctional it all was, love wasn't logical after all.

✦ track 02 : making the bed
⨾ featuring lee heeseung
— he was unattainable and yet you still wanted him. pretending to be someone you weren't putting yourself in difficult positions simply for his attention. with every move you made, it seemed you were digging yourself a deeper hole for a one sided love and through it all you were losing not only the people who cared about you but yourself.

✦ track 03 : the grudge
⨾ featuring park jongseong
— "forgive and forget" they'd say, if only they knew it wasn't that easy. jay was one of the people you trusted the most and he only betrayed your trust, no matter how much you tried to forgive him, you knew it would take alot of strength to heal from what he put you through and letting go of the grudge you held against him would be a long journey.

Quick question for you cuz you seem to know very well the little guy
Do you think Mickey has any bad sides? Bad qualities/Habits
Ooh! I was hoping someone would ask this question. It was sitting in my mind for a while. I love sharing my thoughts on this little guy.
I do think it is important to remember that when it comes to characters like Mickey it can be challenging to ascribe specific traits to him since there are so many interpretations with differing personalities. Mickey in the black and white shorts is different from Mickey in the Gottfredson comics who is different from Mickey in the Paul Rudish shorts and etc. So some traits may fit better for some versions than others.
I don't know if I can say I am the Mickey expert. But I do think about him a lot and if I came up a list of what I think are bad habits or flaws that he has, based on how is generally portrayed and my own personal interpretation, I would say:
Stubborn - To start off, I feel like a common flaw for Mickey is his stubbornness. Once he sets his mind on a certain idea or situation, he has a hard time being convinced of anything else. It can be really difficult to change his mind, though not impossible. I don't think it comes from a place of seeing himself as better than anyone though, but rather from his desire to hold fast to what he believes in. And in some cases, it can have beneficial results. Such as when he is investigating some kind of mystery he tends to drop everything else, unable to change focus until he finally solves it. This usually gives him the push to solve problems most people give up on. But unfortunately, it tends to result in him ignoring the world around him which can be frustrating at times, especially for Minnie. Sometimes I think Mickey even uses these situations as an excuse to push aside things he doesn't want to do and focus on something he would much rather do.
Untamed Curiosity - I feel like this is actually an offshoot of his earlier personality. He was much more mischievous in his earlier appearances, but that was somewhat tamed over the years. However, I do think one element that has remained is this mouse's curiosity for the unknown. It seems like Mickey can't help himself but stick his nose into things he probably shouldn't. Whether it is listening to a conversation, checking a locked room, testing out a weird machine, or even following an odd feeling. I also feel like his stubbornness doesn't really help as it seems like once a curiosity is in his focus, he can't let it go. Mickey rarely likes to cause problems, but if his curiosity overtakes him, he usually ends up being a troublemaker. Sometimes this usually leads to him catching a crook. But other times it results in a big mess that he would have to clean up. I do think though that his mischievousness isn't entirely gone and does pop up every once in a while. Especially when trying to get out of things he finds boring or doesn't want to be in. And sometimes he just wants to be a prankster and have fun with his friends and family. Which is funny until things get out of hand.
Overthinks - Mickey is very intelligent and can come up with pretty clever plans when trying to solve problems. Unfortunately, this comes with the side effect of him overcomplicating even simple situations. This is usually why Goofy is such a vital friend for Mickey. Mickey tends to come up with complex solutions while Goofy tends to show the easier option Mickey tends to overlook. I think part of this does come from Mickey being afraid of being wrong and making mistakes, so he tries his best to be as thorough as he can be, which unfortunately can lead to more mistakes.
Lack of Self-Protection - One positive about Mickey is that he cares about others and would stand up to protect them. But unfortunately, this doesn't always extend to himself. He is not a doormat but tends to lean more "Turn the other Cheek" approach when he is the only one getting bullied (unless things go too far or if others get involved). To be fair, it is important to know when to pick your battles, but this tends to lead into other areas as I feel like he doesn't really share his problems and tends to keep personal issues to himself. I personally see him as the kind of guy you really have to pry to get him to talk about what he is feeling as he would much rather bottle it up to not cause any trouble. I also feel like he rarely is one to ask for help and tends to try and solve it all on his own, especially if he is worried that others may get hurt. The issue is, he doesn't seem to worry about whether he would get hurt.
Takes on Too Much - I also feel like this connects to another flaw as he tends to take on too much and constantly puts himself in risky situations. Whenever a life-threatening situation comes up that could help everyone but is extremely dangerous, he is usually the first in line to do it. It feels like Mickey doesn't even consider his own safety or limitations at all. Sometimes it feels like he is overconfident in his abilities and just believes that he will be okay, which works until it doesn't. It also doesn't help that Mickey has a hard time saying "No", so even if he didn't want to do something or knows he is not capable of doing it, he would probably still do it, not wanting to disappoint anyone. He rarely thinks of himself. And seldom considers what would be best for him. Usually, his friends are the ones to think about his safety and needs.
Need to be Perfect - Though I feel like part of the reason Mickey takes on so much is his need to be the hero. He feels like he has to be a perfect, selfless, and brave role model who does everything without a single complaint. I feel like he overexerts himself because he is afraid of what happens if he doesn't. He is afraid of not being needed or wanted. He is usually the underdog, a small mouse in a world with characters twice his size, and if he isn't constantly proving himself people will leave him behind. I also feel like he has a hard time admitting to mistakes (which connects to his stubbornness) because he feels like he can't make mistakes, or that would show that he isn't as capable as people think. I also think this explains why he has more of a heated rivalry with Mortimer. Mortimer somehow taps into his insecurities in the ways others don't. I feel like Mickey is kind of jealous of Mortimer because he tends to be taken seriously (at first) while Mickey usually needs to earn it. I also kind of wonder if he is worried that if he starts messing up, Minnie and the others will leave him for someone like Mortimer, so he feels like he can't mess up. Ever.
Lack of Self Worth - Unfortunately this means that he is very reliant on others for his self-worth. Luckily Mickey is really good at making friends. But he tends to rely on the existence of his friends for his worth. I can imagine that if for some reason they all stopped existing, I don't think he would even know what to do with himself. While he doesn't need everyone to like him. He does need at least one person to like him to help ground him or I can see him going into a deep depression. I feel like he would really struggle with being alone for too long unless there was some hope of being able to be with his loved ones soon.
But yeah these are the bad qualities that I feel like Mickey generally has. There are probably more, especially ones more specific to certain interpretations, but these are the ones I was able to come up with. As nice as Mickey is, he isn't perfect and his insecurities, overthinking, stubbornness, and curious nature tend to get him in trouble. But fortunately, he is also just as capable of getting out of trouble.
I would honestly love to see other people thoughts on this as well.

"I don't suppose you imagined it like this."
Julian looks a little puzzled for a moment, then shrugs. "I don't think I imagined this at all," he confesses. "So I'm not sure I had any expectations one way or the other."
Garak laughs. It's a sad, hoarse little sound.
"I suppose it's a uniquely Cardassian trait, then - fantasizing about the rousing arguments one night have with the object of one's affections."
Julian offers a lopsided smile. "Maybe not entirely. This just isn't the sort of thing I enjoy fighting about. I don't think you do either."
Garak humphs quietly. "What I enjoy is of little consequence, it would seem."
Julian flops over on his back. "Relationships are just like this sometimes. Which, incidentally, is exactly why I never imagined you'd be caught dead in one."
"I can't quite believe you ever saw me as unobtainable."
"Well, believe it."
It cuts too close to a painful topic, and they both fall silent.
"We both want the same thing," Garak says, finally. "As you're always saying."
"Same team," Julian agrees softly.
"And yet."
"And yet?"
"On certain things, we cannot seem to come to a consensus."
"We're from different worlds, Garak. It's understandable that we get into these tiffs sometimes."
"I think I rather preferred it when the stakes were lower."
"You don't mean that."
Garak hears the twinge of pain and hates himself for saying it. "I only meant - when we were friends, it was easier."
"Of course it was easier. We could walk away when things got too intense, and just steer clear of anything too hurtful in the future. But we're building a life together now. We don't always have that option anymore."
"I know."
"And I know the stakes are higher, but it's not... I don't exactly have one foot out the door."
"But there are limits."
"Of course there are limits. I hope you have limits, too."
An uncomfortable silence.
"Garak - this isn't going to work if we're not on even footing."
"I have limits," Garak snaps. And regrets.
It feels endless, inescapable. This cycle of pain, lashing out, and guilt. In his darker moments he thinks his whole relationship with the doctor, from that first moment in the replimat, he's simply been stringing regret to regret with only a few moments of blissful respite in-between.
He has placed Julian on a pedestal - the beautiful, brilliant, compassionate doctor. The one who always forgives him. He is only now beginning to understand that his actions have impact on the seemingly untouchable man, even when they seem to slide right off his elegant back.
It is a difficult thing to learn so late. But Tain, for all his faults, didn't raise a quitter.
"I am sorry," Garak says, very quietly.
Julian's hand flexes beside his. "I know."
"You...are the only person of consequence in my life. If you asked me to go with you, anywhere -"
"I wouldn't -"
"But if you did. I need you to understand, Julian. If you did, I would go."
Julian sighs, arches his head back into the pillow like he's trying to disappear into it. "I'm tired. Please, can we just-"
"You don't believe me."
"Elim, please."
Garak balls his hands into fists until his claws dig into his palms.
"I'm sorry," he says again.
"I know," Julian says, sounding more exhausted than ever.
The chirring of the nighttime insects is the loudest Garak has heard, since the Fire.
"Come here," Julian says, finally.
Garak slides closer, takes his place in the crook of the younger man's arm.
"I love you," Julian says.
Garak swallows. It still takes an effort. "I love you."
In time, as the night wanes, they sleep.

Luffy’s tendency to self-sacrifice and the way he responds to loss are both incredibly telling aspects of his character. They show his level of love and dedication to other people, but most importantly they show his selflessness. Now, selflessness isn't necessarily a bad thing, but due to the level of selflessness that Luffy displays, it reveals a major character flaw.
Now, I’m not criticizing Luffy’s character, but what I am doing is pointing out something that I’d categorize as a negative character trait. And one that I find particularly fascinating.
Luffy may seem like the typical shonen protagonist on the surface (flawless, stupid, and selfless to a tee). However, if you take a look past surface level then you will find that Luffy is an incredibly complex character. Because while he is incredibly stupid, he possesses a certain multidimensionality that sets him apart from other typical shonen protags.
In regards to that multidimensionality, I’ve noticed that Luffy measures his own self worth exclusively through other people. By his value in the eyes of others. How he can serve them and how much worth he holds in their lives.
Okay but... what the fuck does this mean.
First of all I’d like to discuss Luffy’s tendency to self-sacrifice. Have you ever stopped to notice that every single one of Luffy’s specialized gears has a negative side effect of some kind? Second Gear puts so much strain on his heart that it is said to shorten his lifespan the more often he uses it. Third Gear makes his body shrink. Fourth Gear exhausts his Haki so terribly that he becomes immobile for ten minutes. And I feel like Fifth Gear speaks for itself...
Clearly Luffy has no qualms about sacrificing his body, but why is that? The answer, at least in my interpretation, is that Luffy’s self-sacrifice has entirely to do with the value he places on himself. The catch is that he doesn’t place any value on his own life. Luffy has proven on multiple occasions that he is more than willing to throw his own life away for the sake of others.
We see this in Udon prison, when Luffy was actively poisoning himself to death to make a point, even though it’s difficult to notice how close he was to getting himself killed because Toei decided that if Luffy was dying he was going to look Hot while doing it
Tumblr media
We see this again when Luffy climbed the mountain in Chopper’s Arc, destroying his fingers and risking freezing to death all to save Nami and Sanji.
We see this when Luffy fought Magellan in Impel Down, which was the closest Luffy came to killing himself for the cause.
Then again on Whole Cake Island when he tried to let Sanji kick him to death to prove a point. And when he tried to starve himself to death to prove a point. And when he tried to rip his own arms off–
Tumblr media
And of course we can’t forget about Thriller Bark. The entire point of Zoro taking Luffy’s pain was to show just how far Luffy was hurting himself in order to protect the crew. There was an entire conversation between the Straw Hats about how unhealthy that behavior was, and how they needed to protect Luffy from himself by getting stronger.
These are all shining examples of Luffy taking selflessness just a little too far. And while placing high value on the lives of others isn’t a negative quality, doing so to this degree isn’t exactly healthy. I say that Luffy holds no value in his own life because he cares this much about other people. He cares more about other people than he does about himself, and is more than willing to die in the process of protecting/saving his loved ones.
I came to this conclusion by looking at the way Luffy handles loss.
And the simple answer is that... Luffy doesn't handle loss. (The entirety of Whole Cake Island was just Luffy outright refusing to lose another loved one)
Tumblr media
And when he does... he doesn’t.
Tumblr media
Which is exactly what I’m talking about. Whenever Luffy loses people that he deeply cares about he immediately flips his lid. Water Seven and Thriller Bark seemed like all fun and games after watching Luffy grieve the loss of his crew on Sabaody. Seeing him break down like that was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to watch... You can feel just how much this loss has impacted Luffy, and it hurts.
Tumblr media
Amazon Lily was largely comedic, which served as a well needed break in between Sabody and all the Horrors of the Summit War. Because of this, the delivery of Luffy’s behavior after the events on Sabody is easy to brush off as a gag joke... but you can’t deny the fact that he overdosed on poisonous mushrooms. And while, yes, Luffy is a fucking idiot, not moments beforehand he was digging through the forest and talking about how many species of mushrooms he knew and all the wacky side effects of eating them. So clearly Luffy knows his stuff, and I think it’s just a little too convenient that he “accidentally almost died of a drug overdose shortly after losing everyone he held dear” after Oda explicitly stated that he knew his shit when it came to eating plants in the woods.
And then, of course, we have Luffy’s breakdown after Ace’s death. Which was even more difficult to watch than Sabody had been.
Tumblr media
Are we beginning to see a trend? Luffy will try his damndest not to lose the people he cares about, but it’s impossible to save everyone. On the rare chance that he does lose someone he cares about, he immediately has a suicidal breakdown and gets extremely violent towards himself.
I’m certain that we can all agree that trying to kill yourself as a result of grief is NOT a healthy coping mechanism. Luffy is a completely happy-go-lucky character, with a suspicious tendency to over-sacrifice, yes, but the moment he fails/loses his friends he has a psychotic break. Without other people around him, Luffy suddenly loses all sense of self worth. Because he is nothing without his nakama... right?
It’s so easy to miss this detail about Luffy’s character, and it’s because he’s so good at concealing his negative emotions. Luffy puts on a brave face for the people he cares about, and he doesn’t want people to see him as anything less than a ray of sunshine and a symbol of joy and freedom. His conversation with Jimbei after Marineford was about how he needed to bury his grief for Ace even though it was unhealthy, because Luffy needed to remain strong.
Clearly he’s taken this to heart, because he hasn’t talked about how Ace’s death has impacted him even once. Luffy refuses to show emotional weakness in front of his crew, he is doing all in his power to be strong and support them while asking for nothing in return. Even now Luffy can’t hear Ace’s name without tearing up.
Tumblr media
Luffy puts on a strong facade, and it is what makes his self-sacrifice seem so heroic, and what makes it so easy to miss how unhealthy it is. Luffy always saves people at the expense of his own life. He takes his battles incredibly too far, always ending up horrifically injured and using abilities that are detrimental to his body and his health. But he always recovers so easily, so quickly, and it is easy for the viewer/reader to move past Luffy’s self-sacrifice because he moves past it easily.
But why is he so nonchalant about nearly killing himself in almost every battle he places himself in? Simple, it is because he is not afraid of dying. Because in his eyes, he has no worth as a person unless he gives his EVERYTHING to the people he cares about.
Hence, Luffy measures his self worth entirely through other people, and therefore will stop at nothing to protect and fight for others. Because otherwise he is nothing.
I like to think that he developed this mindset as a result of his early childhood. Dragon didn’t want him. Garp didn’t want him. Dadan didn’t want him. Ace didn’t want him. Luffy was only accepted and cared for by others once he proved his worth to Ace and Sabo. Remember? They only started caring about Luffy and accepted him into their group after he got beaten violently for hours to protect their treasure stash. An act of violent self-sacrifice. It earned Luffy two brothers, but it also instilled the idea of his worthlessness unless he serves other people.
Remember when Luffy asked Ace to promise him not to die? I like to read between the lines a little. (Don’t leave me behind, Ace.) (I’m nothing without you, Ace.)
Tumblr media
Luffy is a clingy person. He cares so much about other people, and will go to incredible lengths to keep them close. He can be happy, but only with other people. Because he needs other people in order to value his own life. He doesn’t care about himself, he only cares about others.
That is a very unhealthy mindset in this context, and is a major character flaw because of the impact it has on Luffy’s mental health.
But it also shows an incredible duality.
Selflessness is a highly valued characteristic. But in Luffy’s case, he brings it to an extreme. What could be considered his greatest strength is also his greatest flaw.
Luffy is a very admirable character because of this, and I love him a totally normal amount

Astro Observations pt.5
‼️Don't repost my Observations without consent and mentioning my page‼️
I very much respect non-binary or trans people. If i'm talking about man or woman, i'm talking about cis-men or woman i know, because often, due to societal coding/standards, there can be differences depending on the gender. But it could very much apply to you if you are non-binary or trans. Just take what resonates and leave what doesn't, as spiritual people like to say.🫶🏻
If you don't agree with my observations, please don't send any hate. They're only my personal observations that i'm posting just for fun. Especialy the specific ones can only apply to certain people. So don't take anything you read too seriously. It's not a science, just pop-astrology!😎
‼️TW: Mentioning of mental health struggles, abuse and other darker stuff. If you think reading this might trigger you, please stop reading!‼️
So let's go!
Lots of planets in the 7th house, especialy conjunct: A big part of this life might be about your marriage partner or life partner or just the relationship to your closed love ones. This can be amazing, but i need to tell you to be careful who you choose as a partner and who you let close to you in your life. As this is the house of open enemies too, this could also go south, especialy if there are also planets like mars, pluto or saturn involved. this could go from just staying in a unfulfilling relationship way too long (because your life seems to revolve around this relationship and you don't see a live without it) to being in an abusive relationship. ❤️‍🩹
Saggitarius AC: This gives the person bad guy vibes, but in a different way than Sag MC. In the MC it's more how the public perceives you, maybe through the career choices you made, but not necessarily how you actualy are as a person. In the Ascendant it is how you might actualy be like in more private settings or how you show yourself to your closer peers. Not a bad person, i feel like to be that saggitarius has way too strong morals, but just this bad b*tch energy that surrounds them and like a dark "emo" vibe. Or your actual personality could be described as "bad bitch"-like. could also really like dressing in black/ darker colours and/or with spikey/scary accessouirs.😈
Sun in Leo in the 8th house: I already talked about in another post how i've met a few people with leo sun who told me they love sex. One of those people has Leo sun in the 8th house, and he is into bdsm. so basicaly, i think the 8th (scorpio) house influence gives this love for sex a more extreme touch, and because scorpio is also posessive, stuff like bondage fits into it as well.⛓️
Chiron conjunct AC: You might've struggled with bullying or got outcasted by people who were dear to you because of the way you looked, dressed or how you behaved. But it doesn't have to be because of other people, it could just be that for some reason, you never liked your personality and always saw something wrong about who you are. Because of this, the thing you're most insecure about or hurt you the most is yourself or how you view yourself. I feel like this is a difficult placement for Chiron because it's hard to heal Chiron wounds. They are where we know how to heal others but we don't know how to heal ourselfes. And especialy because we might not think we're even worthy of healing, this placement might especialy struggle with dealing with their insecurities.🫂
Planets in the 22nd degree: As many may know, this is the so called "kill or be killed"- degree. How i personaly interpret it is, that in whatever planet or other placement you have this degree, it will be hard for you to develope the good trait of the planet. Let's take sun 22nd degrees in the 7th house as an example. You may naturaly love to be in love and love relationships, it's where your heart lies, but because of this degree, you have experienced so many relationship wounds, that you get a huge ego (the sun can also be ego if underdeveloped) to either hide your wound, or in the hopes of never getting hurt again (or both). This could then either make you completely turn away from relationships or a very narcissistic partner. And especialy when you have other more challenging planets conjunct the sun, it can make it even harder. You feel like, you either kill your heart, or you will be killed by it, because it may for example hurt too much. 🔪
Jupiter conjunct mars in the 10th house or conjunct the MC (also just Mars, but Jupiter "enlargens" the placement): Your career might be all about fighting. If it's just in the 10th house it's just your career and what you may be professionaly most respected for, conjunct MC may be what the general public knows you for. This can mean literal fighting like marshal arts or fighting in a war.🤼‍♀️
Ruler of the Ascendant in the 12th house: I personaly have this placement, and it's really hard for me to truly understand who i am and what defines me. As i get older i learn more and more about myself, but at the same time i have to unlearn a lot of stuff people told me about myself which i then belived to be true (because i didn't know who i am). For example, when i went to school i was always directly or indirectly told that i was more or less stupid. Everyone thought that, because i couldn't express myself properly in front of the class because of social anxiety. Because of this social anxiety, i was also always seen as shy, which is why i always thought of myself as shy and introverted by nature. But now as i got into university and learned how to approach people and my social anxiety has gotten a lot better, i now know i am actually way more extroverted than introverted as long as i'm surrounded by the right people and actualy not shy at all. And i learned that i wasn't actualy stupid, my struggle was just expressing myself properly and not having enough access to proper knowledge or the mental capacity to learn new things (i had quite a hard childhood, so i mentaly had to deal with a lot of stuff). So i feel like with this placement, it's important for you to always challenge what you believe to be true about yourself and be open to changing your perspective on yourself. Just because you may think something about yourself because everybody has made you feel like you are whoever they thought you were, doesn't mean you are actualy that. To you especialy i wanna say: i feel you, and you can got this!💪
Moon in the 12th house: This could mean your mother being abscent because of her having to stay in psychitric care or in prison or just some sort of very restricting place or situation. She might have been a drug/alcohol addict. Or she could've been emotionaly absend or it just felt like she was absent because the connection to her was missing. But i personaly could never make a connection from my moon sign to my mother, even though this is a interpretation a lot of astrologers make (which is why i feel like mentioning it, it's still valid). For me personaly, i feel like the moon just tells you about your emotions and how you might try to soothe yourself in different situations. With this placement specificaly, it might be very difficult for you to access your emotional life because you surpress your emotions and so they hide in your subconscious. Because of that, it might be very hard for you to know how to soothe yourself, so you might turn to drugs and because of that end up in prison or they express themselves in mental health struggles which may lead to you needing psyhchiatric care (or also to prison, if you do something bad because of that). But i don't want to make it seem like it's not okay for you to get the help you need. This is not an easy placement, so if you feel like you cannot handle what is going on with you psychologicaly, please seek professional help!🌘
Mars in the 7th house: This placement can indicate your partners (or just close loved ones) being potentialy abusive or you tending to be more aggressive towards your partners. Whoever is your open enemy might especialy try to go against you in a more aggressive way, so be careful with this one!🤕
That's it for today! If you liked it, feel free to leave a like, comment or to even reblog my post. Until next time, stay the beautiful human being you are.🫶🏻

What is the red soul trait ?
This post is a compilation of different small theories regarding the red soul trait, presenting some of the evidence both in favor of and against each of them to portray a rough picture of what options may be on the table.
Unlike the 6 other traits, the one of the red soul is left unclear in the ball game.
As they are the only two known humans in Undertale with this soul color, the red soul trait would likely be something that is associated both with Frisk and with Chara.
There are several hypothesises regarding the red soul trait of varying plausibility.
DETERMINATION
While it deserves a mention for being by far the most popular take, determination is actually far less plausible than all of the theories brought up in this post. A more detailed critic of this take can be found in a separate post here.
HOPE
Hope is an unpopular yet intriguing proposition.
Before killing himself in certain variations of the neutral ending, Asgore makes a comparison between Frisk and Chara by pointing out that the both of them have the same feeling of hope in their eyes. Making a clear association between both of the humans with red souls and the idea of hope.
Tumblr media
The eyes are often portrayed as “The window to the soul” in media.
It is also noteworthy that Asgore, who did what he did in order for everyone to have hope, has a red trident. This is possibly a sort of symbolism.
Tumblr media
Finally, a comparison can be made with Deltarune, in which the red soul seals the fountains and may be the one bringing hope. As is mentioned in this Gaster tweet :
Tumblr media
Hope does suffer from a few issues though.
Most of its evidence feels a bit stretchy. In addition, hope cannot be tied back to the red soul via the ball game either, which is the main place where one would expect a hint at the red soul trait to be.
A combinaison of the 6 other traits
This take is quite straightforward.
As the other traits mainly came from beating the ball game, this theory suggests that the red soul trait actually is given by obtaining the red flag. Simply that its nature is different from that of the other soul colors and thus is presented differently as well.
Tumblr media
It suggests that if the red flag is achieved by using the 6 other traits, then the red soul trait would therefore be a combinaison of those 6 other traits rather than a fully unique one.
While traces of several of those traits can indeed be tied to Frisk or Chara, this theory suffers from a lack of evidence.
As all other traits can be expressed by a single word quality, the red soul being be “just a bit of everything” feels quite strange.
In addition, Chara has a red soul and yet is clearly shown to be be an impatient person while Frisk is often portrayed as not being particularly brave. This does throw a couple wrenches in the idea of both of them having parts of patience or bravery traits respectively.
LOVE
Love finds its main argument from a phone call in Hotland with Papyrus and Undyne.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While this pair often says some very silly things on those phone conversations, this one is so specific that its difficult to brush it aside so easily. This could be a direct association of red souls specifically and love.
Tumblr media
While there are multiple lines that may make it believable for Frisk, it is however a bit less fitting to imagine love being Chara’s soul trait. They simply lack the ties to it that Frisk has.
However, it is also possible that the word play between love and LOVE could apply here as well. The player’s actions would lead to the red-soul-kids-two-in-one-package to get either love or LOVE.
Tumblr media
While love isn’t mentioned in the ball game, it does provide a possible reason as to why the narrator would be purposely avoiding mentioning the red soul trait. Chara might just be too embarrassed !
IPSEITY
(Some variations of this take exist under names like “individuality”, “character” or simply “being yourself”)
The ipseity theory comes from the fact that throughout Undertale, the narrator regularly emphasises on Frisk’s sense of selfhood. The things that make them themself and not anybody else. Mainly via the mirrors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the last remaining mirror interaction also being associated to the sense of identity, but this time to that of the second human with a red soul : Chara.
Tumblr media
Chara also appears to have a strong feeling of individuality as they hate their own race, in addition to acting quite assertively in the genocide route. Making the option believable for both of the humans.
Ipseity can actually be tied back to the ball game too. After getting the red flag twice, we are told the following :
Tumblr media
Which also appears to be describing a feeling of ipseity and tying it to the color “RED”.
The only significant criticism of ipseity would be Frisk being controlled in-world by the player. It could seem to be a bit odd to give them ipseity as a trait given that a significant portion of their actions were not truly from themself.

Hey, what do u think about fans saying Sarah is giving Lucien personality traits to Azriel? I do notice that he went from “misterious” (*cough*boring*cough*) to actually showing some personality, which is interesting…
It feels like SJM isn't completely sold on what she wants to do with Az because his character isn't cohesive as of late.
We went from Cassian saying that even he and Rhys can't get Az to open up after centuries yet suddenly he's casually chatting with Nesta and Bryce in HOFAS even though they literally do not trust Bryce and he's only been real friends with Nesta for a few months. He had moments of still being aloof but he was more open around Bryce and Nesta than anyone and that's odd since we don't even see that between he and Cassian in SF.
Where Az, instead of snarking back at Eris for what he said of Mor, exploded into a rage. Where he barely said two words to Koschei and looked genuinely scared yet suddenly he's cocky and sassing to Vesperus after she had been released from her coffin and he had learned she made his kind.
Where he stopped Gwyn from asking him to demonstrate whether he could sing because he didn't feel like it yet was humming in front of Bryce.
Where Az literally has never shown physically affectionate behavior towards anyone throughout the series yet he's stroking Nesta's hair and thanking the mother.
It's not necessarily that she's stealing Lucien's characteristics or other characters who are similar to Lucien from other series so much as it seems she's suddenly recycling them for Az to show how he's being developed to become a MMC but it feels off for him? Az is canonically cold and aloof, where he only brings out his gentle side for those he deems kind of weak (like he does with Elain), who you have to pull teeth to get anything out of and who doesn't say much so it is just a bit odd to have scenes that look suspiciously similar to the Lucien scenes that came before when it does at this point seem out of character for how he's previously been written.
If this is the direction she wants to take Az than that is her perogative but it's a little tricky to hop on board when it is so drastically different from the Az that came before, especially the Az in SF and his bonus. It's the "I'm going to tell you rather than show you" tactic and that's a bit more difficult for some to get behind because we didn't see the evidence of why he's suddenly become someone different than what he was previously portrayed as. Saying his growth happened off page feels too easy a cop out.
It would be like Elain suddenly becoming a bloodthirsty warrior in the next book. SJM can do that with Elain's character if she wants, right? After all, Elain is her creation and maybe that's the final arc for Elain she's been building to when she added the line in the bonus about gardening resulting in something pretty but getting one's hands dirty along the way. But I think it would still ring false to certain readers because of everything that came before it and I don't think they'd be so easily swayed to have people telling them "well this is clearly what SJM wanted to do with her so you just need to accept it". An author can write whatever they want in their books but that doesn't mean every reader is going to buy into what feels like a new direction for a character "just because".

How do you feel about the 'locking Percy into a pyramid' "prank"? I dunno why, but that specific one has always pissed me off.
I recently saw a post on Screen Rant listing 5 of Fred and George's pranks that were funny & 5 that were cruel, and they listed shutting Percy in a pyramid as funny... I almost screamed. 😡
It's definitely crossing the line. I don't care if Percy could have used magic to escape (which is debatable) or if the twins wouldn't have left him in there for long (which I doubt anyway); it's still wrong.
Bill's entire job is breaking curses at these pyramids; ergo, the pyramids are dangerous. Even if they've checked that this specific pyramid was safe, you never know for sure. There could have been dormant curses that became active in an enclosed space (i.e. when the door was shut) that could have effected Percy.
Not to mention that there could have been spells to prevent the use of certain magic in the pyramids, so Percy may not have been able to get out. He could have run out of oxygen or a part of the ceiling could have collapsed from suddenly closing the door (that's not supposed to be closed), and Percy could have been seriously injured.
I also don't think they would have gotten him out quickly. I fully believe they would have left him there and made some excuse to their family that he went back to the room to study for NEWTs (which his family likely would have believed).
Plus, it would have been terrifying for anyone to be locked in a pyramid, and causing genuine fear is not what I would consider a funny joke.
That being said, I don't actually think the twins intended to hurt Percy or put him in danger (just to be clear, that still does not make it okay). This is an unpopular opinion, and I know it sounds strange, but hear me out: I think the twins literally have no concept of cause & effect.
They don't seem to recognize that behavior = consequences (I don't mean consequences as in a punishment; I mean the consequences to other people that are effected). They compartmentalize their actions as being one-and-done jokes that don't have any lasting effects, and part of that is because they are incapable of taking responsibility. They know it's not fun to get in trouble, but it's never their fault when it happens; it's Percy's for being too dramatic or Ron's for being too sensitive, etc.
I headcanon that Fred & George both have ADHD (though Fred's is slightly more severe), because they have many characteristics of it (and ones that I see commonly in my students). That is not to say that all people with ADHD act this way, but it can certainly be a symptom of it. Since people with ADHD struggle with executive functioning skills, this can manifest in ways such as having trouble connecting "right now" to the future or having difficulty understanding why they hurt somebody's feelings.
This has been a pattern with Fred & George, even at a very young age (i.e. when they turned Ron's teddy bear into a giant spider), and that's why I tend to think that they have ADHD, and unfortunately, some of their traits were exacerbated by Molly & Arthur's parenting. Molly & Arthur were never consistent with them; sometimes they were punished for behavior (by Molly), but other times they were rewarded with positive feedback such as laughter (by Arthur). When children aren't held accountable for their actions consistently, it makes it very difficult to create a connection between actions, consequences, and remorse. This becomes an even bigger problem when the child is not neurotypical.
Anyway, this turned into a bit of a rant (sorry), but the point is, this "joke" was completely out of line, regardless of their motives.
Thanks for the ask! 😊

When designing/writing characters that have certain traits/characteristics which in our current society may be a hot button topic (like being trans), how do you tackle making sure it’s not a Big Deal (ie that character’s dominate trait or only reason for being in the story) but also not brushing it under the rug (like what JK Rowling did with Dumbledore being gay)?
This topic is a little too complex for me to sufficently cover it in a tumblr ask+reply, and even if I could I would feel like it wasn't my place to speak for everyone.
I will attempt to give some advice, but consider this more of a starting off point than anything.
The main two things are research and improving yourself, I think. These two things go hand in hand to form a cycle that if you continue going through you will become someone who wont pull garbage bigotry on minorities.
What I mean is, that you have to research whatever group youre hoping to represent. Not just wikipedia or other articles, but find their own opinions. Things said by them. During that research you might get uncomfortable, confused, overwhelmed and maybe even angry.
That's because we are all subconciously bigoted one way or another. That's where improving yourself comes in. You will never be able to represent a group youre not a part of if you do not process the feelings that come up and deal with them. Subconcious bigtory is incredibly visible in writing. The reason someone like J.K ended up writing Dumbledore's sexuality the way she did, is because she never went through the cycle and learnt to be humble in the face of critique.
That gets me to another point, which is that you are allowed to and will make mistakes. Many weirdos online like to say you cant and will be cancelled forever, but if you are genuinely remorseful and show that and show youre listening... You can mess up. Its okay. People who want rep often also want to help.
Uhm... This is getting long, but to make clear what I mean, is that its very difficult to start, and there arent shortcuts... But you become someone better by the end of it. Be humble, find ways of learning that work for you, be kind and curious, and you might end up with so much more joy than just good writing. Life is better with more kinds of people, cultures and stories in it. I reccomend it.

Astrological placements in a natal chart that may indicate OCD or Anxiety
+ Autism/ADHD
Part 1: ⚠️ Disclaimer: I am not saying these placements have AuDHD/Anxiety/OCD. But they may be more prone to certain behaviors relating to the disorders. You can use astrology to observe your subconscious patterns. Essentially, you can use it for shadow work. But these may not apply to everyone so take what resonates and leave what does not
Tumblr media
6H Stellium- OCD regarding their perfectionistic nature. They need things to be exact & orderly. Change in routine may be difficult especially if they have already established a routine that makes sense to them. This placement gives Neurodivergent vibes as well tbh. They need some type of structure/routine to feel secure.
Mercury Aspects: if negatively aspected these individuals may struggle with communicating their innermost thoughts. Their thoughts/communication often get muddled which can make it difficult to understand them.
Mercury Square Venus: relates to Mercury aspects but I wanted to go into detail with this specific placement. They may be awkward in social settings & have a hard time connecting with others overall. They could say the wrong thing or just make someone feel some type of way but it’s not on purpose.
Virgo Anything: OCD regarding their physical environment. I didn’t put any specific Virgo placements because I’ve observed that the placement truly doesn’t matter when it comes to these behaviors. Since they are an earth sign they are pretty grounded. However, they are ruled by Mercury & are a mutable earth sign which affects their stability levels. They need their environment to be perfect & make sense to them at a mental level. So they may be control freaks. They give off restless anxious energy similar to Gemini. They are sensitive & feel things in their gut due to Virgo being ruled by the abdomen. Digestive issues are a common symptom in autistic people.
Libra Sun/Moon/Mars/Mercury: They are likely to have a strong sense of justice which is common for people with Autism. But they are also an air sign too so I think it makes it more difficult for them to stay grounded in general. They pick up on many different frequencies which I think makes them very intuitive. They may have pattern recognition which is another Autistic trait. They like to weigh their options and see things from different pov’s before coming to a decision. But they can be indecisive & value their freedom a lot. It’s giving PDA (pathological demand avoidance).
Gemini Anything: I didn’t put any specific Gemini placements because I’ve observed that the placement truly doesn’t matter when it comes to these behaviors. Their brains tend to be scattered & they are usually all over the place. They have a restless/anxious energy to them. It’s hard for them to stay still for prolonged periods & they need lots of mental stimulation or they will get bored. They are good at retaining information & sometimes have a good memory. But they can be forgetful too. They may remember their special interest in detail but everything else is debatable.

have you considered that maybe you projected a bunch of stuff on tonks that wasnt there and reading further into the books simply proved you wrong? (for example, the fact that you say she hates being called dora, when what she says she hates is her full name, nymphadora). not every woman has to want kids and be married, but why should tonks have been that woman when she wasnt intended to be so, your own sterotypes on her "type" of character aside? because you liked her?
ok first things first -- you're right about one thing -- Tonks wasn't written to be a queer character. Like at all. I don't think jkr intended anyone in the hp series to be queer,, not even dumbledore (that was definitely an afterthought lol). Any reading of queerness is subtextual no doubt.
That being said,, queerness in media, especially children's media, before 2010 is almost always subtextual. It is very difficult to find any canonical queer characters in 90s/2000s children's media. Queer ppl are still gonna read these books however. And a lot of us relate to a certain 'type' (as you put it) of character -- usually ones that are 'different', don't conform, etc, etc.
A lot of queer hp fans saw themselves in Remus (ostracized for his lycanthropy aids metaphor -- which is not a very well done metaphor but i digress) or Tonks, in her disregard for femininity, tomboyish ways and spunky nature.
Now the problem I have with people saying that we can't headcanon characters who have stereotypically queer traits is --- well who would u rather we headcanon as queer then? It's unrealistic that every single person in the harry potter universe is a raging cis heterosexual -- thats just not how life works lol. Sometimes people will say, 'hc some one as queer that's not a stereotype'. Ok would you rather me headcanon ron as trans? Hermione as a lesbian? because i can provide analysis' for those readings too. But then the argument would be,, 'there is nothing queer about these characters you're just making shit up'.
What I'm trying to say, is that these questions feel like a trap. If we headcanon characters who have traits that alot of queer ppl have the argument is 'you're just stereotyping!!!' If we headcanon people that have traits that aren't especially common with queer folk then the argument is that we're 'just grasping for straws'. The only correct answer in this scenario is to not headcanon anybody as queer for the sake of not hurting cishet ppl's feelings.
also i just wanna add that tonks is not the only tomboyish character in the series!! We have Ginny, the girls on the quidditch team and probably more that I'm forgetting -- plenty of str8 tomboyish characters to go around lol.
I think you'll find that queer ppl aren't as obsessed with queer headcanons as u think -- we just want representation. You'll find in a lot of fandoms that centre around queer shows like the owl house, heartstoppper, our flag means death,, people generally just accept the sexualities presented to them because there are already canonical queer characters in the show.

Your Angelina Jolie post is super interesting!
(Yapping incoming)
You briefly talked about her childhood and I think something interesting to add is that Angelina says she got called ugly when she was younger for her lips (I say that allegedly as I haven’t actually seen the og sourcewhere she says it). I was never super into the whole Claire Nakti punarvasu beast ugly to pretty video idea, as a native myself, *but* I do feel like it’s common for punarvasu to be called ugly/ experience appearance related trauma in childhood.
Either way I feel like I do see quite a few young Angelina haters who say she was ugly when young- even though us women of culture know she’s always been gorgeous- she did have a physical “awkward phase” in that sense of how she was widely perceived.
Also Maleficent is kind of a punarvasu core role when you think about it. Definitely some other major astro influence in the role as well, I’m not super familiar with her chart. However starting off kind, having someone take advantage of your giving nature, turning into a controlling and unkind leader, and then “returning to the light” by learning how to be kind again through love for a child who saw through the outer “ugliness”. Idk sounds a little punarvasu core to me
I feel like it’s frustrating to guess these things when someone has a planet in the first house which also rules one of the nakshatras, in this case saturn and pushya. It makes it so much harder to go off of appearance. For me personally I spot pushya women by their narrow but full lips (alongside the other traits you mentioned). The beautiful pushya moon native Tripti Dimri has this trait- her lips are full but their shape has a certain narrowness to them.
Going back to Angelina, as you said she has the pushya look anyway bc of cancer + saturn influence, but idk I’ve always felt like it’s a different vibe? The saturn nak women feel a bit more calm and “closed off” if you will(?)
Her having a Jupiter placement would explain this tbh. I’m kind of obsessed with her when she played “Corky”, whenever Jupiter (or mars actually) women do a masc look they eat it up every time!!
I thought Claire's Punarvasu video about ugliness was most relatable to Punarvasu men perhaps because men externalise their traits whereas women internalise them. So Punarvasu/Jupiter men playing the "Beast" made sense to me because they feel hideous and when it's projected outwards (our thoughts create our reality, when someone thinks or believes they're ugly they experience things that affirm this belief?? if that makes sense??) they are perceived as Beastly by others. Also Jupiter dominant people, be it men or women are hella intimidating as all these naks have feline yoni animals (cat, tiger, lion who are all unapproachable and intimidating in their own ways) I think if others are intimidated by you, they're less likely to approach you and if you feel socially isolated like that, you're more likely to think "oh it's because everyone hates me/because I'm ugly" and I think maybe that's why Punarvasu natives struggle with "feeling ugly". Claire did also say that being isolated was a big theme in their lives. It could also be because of how Jupiter's boundlessness means these natives contain too much substance, both good and bad, it's only with age and wisdom that an individual learns to tune out the negativity and focus on the goodness so because of all the internal negativity the natives "feel ugly". Another reason could be that having really turbulent and difficult childhoods are kind of part of the Jupiter experience, if you grow up feeling neglected or if you're abused, you're not going to feel good about yourself?? A lot of people who have childhood trauma also struggle with their self image. Kali Uchis, Punarvasu Sun, Vishaka Moon & Rising spoke about it in this interview about how being abused as a child meant that she hated being looked at or seen :(((
Angelina has mentioned that she hated modelling (which she did briefly as a teenager)
Omg 😳😮 I had never looked at Maleficent that way but damn that does sound very Punarvasu core especially since her own Punarvasu Sun daughter Vivienne was cast to play the young Princess Aurora because all the other kids were scared of her lmao 😭😭
Sleeping Beauty is closely linked to Revati/Pisces as well (She has Revati Moon & stellium)
You're right it is hard to determine bc of her chart 😭😭But Pushya natives imo have longer slimmer faces because of their goat yoni, Angelina's wide expansive face and features are giving Punarvasu 🤌🏼
But also I feel like Saturnian women are very comfortable with their femininity from the get go. They don't transform into it, like Angie did (which is a Jupiterian quality). Salma Hayek, UBP Moon, Madhuri Dixit, Pushya Moon, Miranda Kerr, Pushya Rising, Mariah Carey UBP Sun, Monica Bellucci-Pushya Moon are all Saturnian women who are known for their hyperfemininity. It's inherent to them?? They have this very exaggerated femininity (Pushya is considered the most feminine nakshatra) that I don't see with Angie. She's very poised and elegant now but I see her individuality before I see her femininity?? If that makes sense lol and like you said Saturnian women are 100x more mellow, more composed and overall chill, Jupiter is what creates a more bold/loud in your face kind of persona.
Idk what Corky is 😭😭😭😭please tell me I have no clue 🥹🥹
