Baji and Mikey end up taking three packages with them while the others take one or two of the dates you offered. in the end, everybody got to take something to eat with them and they were all happy that they got to be your friends.

They were all glad that you introduced your religion to them, if not, they'd never have understood you and maybe thought that you might be a weirdo.

"You'll invite us next year again, right?", Mikey asked, a hopeful glimmer in his eyes to which you nodded reassuringly. "Yes, of course! You guys are my best friends!", at that, all the boys had a pained expression on their face.

Well, seems like they'll have to be more gentleman-like from now on.

i'll take this opportunity to share all my thoughts on the topic bc i have Many.

TLDR: it is possible to read it as romantic if you really want to, but it's not meant to (at least not as of right now in the story aka ch.224)

deep dive under the cut as to why

i like how you phrased that bc, the thing is, interpretation is very subjective. you're welcome and allowed to interpret things however you want, but in EY&HJ's case, i feel like you'd have to work a lil extra hard to get to that point.

this one's easy bc no. objectively Not. the genre of No Home is drama and slice of life (and once upon a time, horror). even if they were to ever end up in a romantic relationship, that's not what the story is about.

when i ask myself what the author's intention is with this story, i'd say it's to (realistically) portray how a young person with trauma would navigate another young person's trauma. and showing how easy it is to unintentionally fuck it up for various reasons: lacking context as to what exactly said trauma is, generally not knowing how to navigate it, their own trauma getting in the way, lacking the necessary resources. take your pick.

think of it like "how should i carry someone else's baggage when i have my own to deal with?" while also keeping in mind they're kids; they often don't have enough experience to know how to help, and even when they know what the right thing to do is, they're not old enough to take (legal) action.

and especially, the most heart-breaking yet realistic thing, when you're just getting to know someone, you can't know everything about them. it's so easy to accidentally do or say sth that cuts or offends when it wasn't meant to. but when they've got their own issues, it's hard not to take it personally (eg. EY talking about HJ's parents without knowing his mom died not long ago in the beginning of the story).

this one's so funny bc i have no idea how to answer and i'm convinced not even EY and HJ themselves would know how to answer. they're not really friends; they got off on the wrong foot and kept walking with two left feet way too much to call themselves friends. the things that pushed them together the most were the dorms (not anymore) and the same friend group (more or less since EY has multiple).

what fits them best i'd say is "the universe forced us together against our will and now we're stuck with one another altho we hate each other" (<- at least in the beginning) extended with the "misery loves company" sentiment. finding comfort in someone who gets it, even tho they only kinda get it but not really but it works out anyway except it doesn't <- THERE'S NO NAME FOR THAT *cry* they invented a new type of character dynamic smh (i've never read a pairing with so much (romantic) potential only to see them completely fuck up their chance so royally by the end of their interaction EVERY SINGLE TIME. like yeah, enemies to lovers whatever BUT NOT TO THAT LEVEL HOLY SHIT)

they've changed each other, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. they're compatible in the way they understand each other on a deeper level and incompatible in the way they don't.

...however...

this is how HJ thinks of EY: (and also what No Home is truly abt)

and this is how EY feels about HJ after EY found out HJ used to steal as well (aka that HJ isn't perfect like the stuck up bitch EY thought he was at first):

so...

<- -> EY's first impression of HJ was that he was looking down on him and sth like "does this guy have ulterior motives? or is he just that naive being so trusting?" until EY found out HJ wasn't that different from him. after that, EY started admiring HJ for still managing to achieve things in life despite the hardships he had to go through. the type of admiration that can easily (and sometimes does) slip into envy.

since the beginning, EY has helped HJ (or at least tried to) without him knowing. sometimes it worked out, sometimes not. most times EY tried doing sth nice for HJ was (from EY's perspective) in return to HJ trying to help him or doing nice things for him (which, again, sometimes worked out, sometimes not). EY was just paying back a debt to "this stubborn naive guy who keeps getting into trouble and butting into his business. gotta look out for this idiot or he might get scammed." (<- eg. when EY offered to get HJ's money back from his uncle)

he doesn't do it for credit or friendship or out of obligation, he's just doing what he thinks is the right thing bc he doesn't want to owe anyone anything. he can't accept people just genuinely being kind, genuinely caring and genuinely wanting to help. but he's been learning and slowly coming to terms with it.

<- -> HJ first wanted to try befriending EY despite not liking him bc, well, the guy did steal his wallet and stab him in their first interaction. after trying and failing at it multiple times, thanksgiving happened, and HJ started thinking of EY as his underclassman bc he realized EY's just a kid with issues and he should keep an eye on him (discretely bc EY hates pity).

with time HJ has come to understand EY better by going after him whenever he ran off and slowly realized that EY does mean well and has his reasons (as fucked up as they might be sometimes). but his mentality abt EY is still "i gotta push him in the right direction cuz he's my underclassman and i unintentionally got attached to him (somehow??)" (also bc he knows EY already gave up on himself so he needs a lil help to find his way again. also also bc he knows EY is lowkey suicidal and he's scared it'll be his fault if sth happens) <- his care for EY comes from a protective/nurturing (/possibly maybe guilty) place which started when he realized EY was just a kid^^. in other words, HJ still bothers with EY out of a subconscious sense of responsibility/obligation in a way (a good way tho. or at least a way that gets better)

see, sth i struggle with is if HJ thinks he has to or wants to or thinks he should or can't just not help/care for EY. i can't exactly pinpoint where the sentiment is coming from. his face is too blank for me to read sometimes T_T

to summarize: HJ is EY's goal, what EY wishes he could've been. and EY is HJ's 'responsibility' so to speak (bc 'burden' doesn't quite fit since HJ is there for EY willingly) -> EY has a positive opinion of HJ while HJ has a neutral opinion of EY (which is also gradually getting better)

note1: i think HJ's intention (maybe subconsciously) was to be to EY what HJ's upperclassman was to him. aka someone who's there when you need it and can help guide you. it would explain why HJ kept chasing after EY despite not really having a reason to and EY repeatedly rejecting HJ's care/help.

note2: i also believe the 'upper-under-classman' relationship dynamic fits them the best atm bc it also matches the way the story often singles EY out as he's the only second year (aka younger) of the 6 MCs.

-> Romance in No Home?

another thing i should mention is that No Home rarely leaves things open for interpretation. the deepest arguments EY&HJ had were always spelled out for us, to make us understand exactly what the problem was, and how there isn't a good guy and a bad guy. it's just two people with issuesTM.

from what we've seen in the story up to this point, i couldn't pick out a moment where i'd go "here! that's romantic! that's the moment they realized SomeThing!" yk

when it comes to romance specifically, i feel like a handful of opportunities were missed. there are scenes which could've easily been written trough a rosy lens but simply weren't.

exhibit A:

HJ was speechless bc "wow this mf really is actively picking a fight with an authority figure. i gotta make sure things don't escalate" not bc "hoLY sHiT hE's PreTTy. all his fangirls are on to something". however, this only becomes more clear when you keep reading the next few chapters, so i understand how you could interpret it as the latter.

exhibit B:

here they got so close and the moment was so deep bc "woaa he said he believes me. no one's said to me that before!". unfortunately, EY was panicking too much for it to mean something bc of the guilt he felt for HJ trusting someone so undeserving of trust like EY.

exhibit C:

this is maybe the closest we got to romantic between these two. i think this might be the only (or at least first) ever deep interaction between them that didn't end in a fight or misunderstanding. is it meant to be romantic tho? -> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

first, full transparency: i went into reading this story fully expecting it to be a BL and for EY&HJ to end up together. but the more i kept on reading, the more i got the ick thinking about them being in a (romantic) relationship bc, at least from what we've seen so far in the story, their relationship would be so ToxicTM (which i personally don't enjoy reading).

as they are right now, i wouldn't want them to be together like that. like, honestly, you still can't really consider these two even friends; they just tolerate each other if the stars align correctly (altho, i'll admit, their relationship is gradually getting better!!). every big argument they had i thought "god, there's no coming back from that. i'd cut ties so quickly if was them wtf". i still don't know how they managed to keep on interacting, props to them ig.

there's a lot of unresolved issues between them. and a lot of resentment which would not bode well in a romantic relationship. the smallest argument would turn explosive and they'd be, at best, in an on&off type of relationship. they both have the power to break the other and neither would be afraid to use it. they have a lot of history together, which is not always pleasant, so if they ever were to go the romantic route, it would have to be a long way to go.

technically, i could see them in a romantic relationship if they both went to therapy first and talked out all the baggage they're carrying (both individual and shared). realistically tho, what i think will happen at the end of No Home is that either they never cross paths again after high school ends (which would absolutely break my heart Wanan pls don't), or they somehow (unintentionally) end up living together bc they both desperately needed a roommate to pay rent (which would be a hilarious fucking gag LMAO). just, HJ going to uni/work and EY doing his own thing (prolly an actor) while still cohabiting together; hanging out to watch a movie before bed <- (whether platonic or romantic being left up for interpretation)

<- -> in conclusion, from what we've seen up to this point, their relationship is mainly upper-under-classman; reluctant (maybe) friends who tolerate each other but also care (too) deeply. they've changed each other, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. in some ways they're compatible and in others they're not.

all this being said, their relationship is improving and romance between EY&HJ is not impossible, just rather unlikely imo. but, again, interpretation is subjective and u're welcome to read their relationship however you want.

so it's 2012 and I just watched The Lorax, being enamoured by Once-ler and the fandom. scouring through the internet I saw many ships but once I saw Normaler I thought to myself "yeah....no, nope" and went abt my day. but damn didn't they just grab me, I couldn't stop thinking abt them. I remember laying in my bed and thinking "maybe it's actually a good idea?" but I still wasn't sure. and then I saw THIS fanart and I was like damn. u got me, they're in love, I was a fool not to believe it

I'm so happy that there's a Normaler Resurgence cause Ill be damneD they're forever to me. I've loved them for so long and I will loved them even longer

god just the,,, absolute beautiful love story there could be. of Once-ler who thinks he shouldn't be loved, that the love has to be earned every time but who yearns for it so much. and for Norma who is content with the life she has but yearns for sth different, sth more and who never realized that someone like Once-ler could steal her heart like this

but they do, they fall in love slowly and steadily, starting as the closest friends and then realizing that their love is just beyond any words they ever needed. I think what I truly love abt Normaler is how Norma is for me a grounded yet spunky person, while Once-ler is a dreamer, yet careful with his actions

u see what I mean, they better each other. with Norma giving Once-ler the home and love he needs, along with the appreciation and steadiness. while Once-ler wants to make Norma's dreams soar away and wants to make her as happy as she can be. they simply become each other's home, the culprit of a tomorrow they never knew they needed. honestly I believe they both never knew they needed each other but when love found the it was the most beautiful duet

and then the delicious angst of them during the Greed-ler years just DAMN that's good. I love the angst and I love the drama. whether they'd be engaged or married at that time, I eat that shit up so hard. they both knew how to hurt each other way too well. Norma knew she couldn't stay with a man like this, one who becomes so selfish. he's not the starryeyed man she fell for

but then the wonderful reunion after the years. when they are older, wiser and Norma is ready to forgive Once-ler. the years might have passed but their love have never withered. and it's not that the only happiness they could have was in their youth, as their happy ending was when they were both old <3

also can I just say THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE!!!! the sun/moon symbolism. the fact how close to canon they are. the fact that they can have a daughter and grandson in canon. I'm a goner, I swear

Norma is her own person and deserves her story too! and again, don't make them that toxic, they had disagreements but I believe they never abused one another. also anyone who thinks Normaler is too "vanilla" or that it's just a culprit for fangirls to project onto just......literally think to urself, why is any of this a bad thing

Stupid question but which one re-evolved first, Duskull/Dusknoir or Treecko/Grovyle?

First, don't say it's a stupid question, I would love to share ideas for the au and talk more about it, especially 'cause I personally am not very creative on my own, so interaction helps immensely.

Second, gonna be honest here, I actually have no idea. I haven't really put much thought into actual plot lmao. The AU doesn't even belong to me really, I just took jsab's one and came up with little interactions that I found funny and/or cute (in my defense, i was starving for actaeonshipping content xd). I didn't plan an actual timeline/story, and I feel that way anyone can come up with their own interpretation of it, which is fun. (and also less complicated cause the logistics of a swap au would be,,,,,,,,,,,,complicated i think).

However, since you asked, I am going to list some random ideas I had about how it could happen, which sort of mixes with possible story beats ig. Sorry beforehand for the length and change of subject lol.

tldr: imo it depends on what story you wanna come up with and whatever serves it better (i.e. you want it to happen post game, so you follow the game's plot; you want it to happen during the story, so sth weird happens, etc.)

So in PMD:EOS world, pokémon evolve through the Luminous Spring. The player can't evolve until the spring regains its light once the flow of time is fixed. So either we have Grovyle and Dusknoir re-evolving after Dialga is defeated, respecting canon, or we tweak it a bit to make it more interesting.

A way to alter the spring method would be by stealing a headcanon I saw someplace I can't remember (oops): that pokémon, while they usually rely on the Luminous Spring, on very rare occasions can evolve through high levels of stress to protect themselves. I personally like this theory because it explains why there are evolved pokémon in the future, like Grovyle and Dusknoir themselves. They were born in a paralysed world, with no magic skinnydipping, so what's up with that.

When I say this ties in with story beats is because I feel the choice here can make two different versions of the swap, 1. treecko and duskull literally take the hero and partner role to the very end (plus a face off against darkrai ig??), or 2. respect the game's kind-of-chosen one narrative by having partner keep their relic fragment, and making grovyle and dusknoir's main mission to help hero and partner work together again. The problem with this AU is that, if taken seriously, it would need a DEEP reconsideration of the game's events and characters. When does the swap occur? Why does it happen, is Darkrai involved again? If Hero and Partner are still there, does that mean the story of eos happened beforehand but had a bad ending? How do two characters whose actions are immensely influenced by their knowledge of the future act when stripped of their canon motivations? Do they keep behaviours and reflexes (perhaps theyre a bit more ambivalent with violence/more morally gray than hero and partner) or are they a blank slate? Do they feel compelled to evolve because they have a weird feeling that they're in a body strange to them? This is why I only draw the fun two panel interactions!

Leaving all that aside, here are some scenarios that could happen (...because we are just making shit up so anything can happen):

They evolve through struggle, like I presume they had to do in the future. Maybe Treecko evolves sooner, on account of being more reckless and referencing his status as a starter pokémon that evolves at level 16. Once Duskull evolves he prolly carries the team for a while, tho, since Dusclops was supposed to be a fully evolved pokémon in gen 3, and is iconically stronger than Dusknoir when it carries an eviolite. Then again, Grovyle and Dusknoir in game are way stronger than they would be in a mainline game, so perhaps they maintain some muscle memory that helps them in combat (funny how two amnesiac pokémons, who barely remember their own names, are somehow so accostumed to battle, huh, weird). I'd say the best place for an evolution would be the dark future, maybe they escape from prison without facing the sableye -cause a prison cell isnt that big of a deal for someone who knows dig and someone whose actual pokédex entry is "It can go through walls!"- and evolve in a fight against partner?

The evolution doesn't follow game rules at all, instead it's a physical manifestation of their old memories. Hero never remembers their past (sorry grovyle), but this is pure self indulgence so maybe the other two do, or at least are more encouraged to do so or get more information (celebi for grovyle, and dialga for dusknoir).

Following that last point, Celebi and Dialga, two time travelling pokémon, actively interfere to help them get their memories back/get them up to speed with the situation, each to their own interest. Perhaps this involve a separation arc between Treecko and Duskull, à la Gates to Infinity. This would serve to make them less dependent of each other, and mature on their own for a while, differenciating them from hero and partner.

They don't re-evolve, they save the world/help save the world like hero and partner would do.

My favourite option is Dialga helps them somehow with time magic after the battle is over and time is fixed. The sole point of it is getting Dusknoir and Grovyle -with their memories back- to awkardly leave together on a slow stoneship that shoots rainbow, for the sole reason that it would be hilarious.

"Wait wait hold up" Michael started, tired eyes narrowing down at the two of you "So you sneaked into my house at the middle of the night because you were out of ice-cream?" "Cookies-n-cream ice-cream" Luke corrected which earned a kick in the shin rather gracefully by you. "Right..why not just go to the store?"

"...that..is a very good question to which Luke will answer right now" ha! take that hemmo. You don't get to throw me under the bus and get away like that. "Because Y/N is very cheap." dang he played that well. "What?!"

And then Michael had to endure you and Luke argue about for like one minute and he was sick of it. Well, he was a very impatient person and it was about 3 am. So he had about half-hour of sleep til you guys decided to break in.

"Urgh fine.. I'm done. Luke thought it would be funny to steal Moose so we could see your reaction bc you always make fun of piggy." you bluntly stated, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes.

Luke looked at you with comically large eyes and Michael looked a little bit surprised yet he still managed to say "I don't make fun of piggy.." although it sounded more like a question.

"You once said she looks like a baked potato!" Luke yelled out accusively while you decided to drop onto the weirdly comfortable chair behind you. "That was Ashton!" Michael screamed back at him. "Well he doesn't own a dog does he Michael? And it would be stupid to dig up a lemon tree." Luke crossed his arms defensively. He really is a drama queen.

"I.. I'm going to sleep and you are both going home and don't steal my dog and I can't believe you went through with this Y/N/N." Michael gave out orders. "He wouldn't stop!" You defended "Alright, come on hemmo we are going home." You dragged him out with you.

It appears Britney's memoir has many people going crazy about stuff but I've made up my mind about a few things cause at the end of the day I'm just a fan. Or rather was. I dunno how to call myself lately but anyway. I stopped being Justin's fan the moment I heard that part from that N'SYNC interview that he was showing off about taking Britney's "virginity" which I find very low to do, regardless of your age. People cut him some slack back then, saying he was too young and that boys can be like that-shut the fuck up. I could be a 15 year old teen and if my boyfriend went around saying he took my virginity I would break up with him and fuck his life up.

But yeah, that aside, I found an interview of the woman who co-wrote Everytime with Britney and she said they both wrote it based on their breakups and that they found a connection through the heartache. Nothing was said about abortions and stuff so if Britney added all that without the other lady knowing, I dunno, but it was a song about breakup as far as she is concerned, but with media blowing up and making their own stories, this is what you could get too. Also the baby in the vid is born after she supposedly dies which amplifies that this was indeed why it was written, but she also comes out of the bathtub at the end of the vid which shows that was all her imagination. There is a lot to unpack and people had better actually read the book before making up stories based on the 2 lines they were given before release.

Finally the new shit around Aguilera and Justin, I think Britney's views are Britney's views on this one cause, being a fan of all 3 of them back then I had followed the whole hype around that photoshoot and I was so excited Christina and Justin had a shoot together, but I also clearly remember Christina talking about it and how people would probably love to make sth out of it, but that she considers him a very dear friend and that's it. I don't believe anything happened between them cause she always had that flirty attitude about her, it was just a photoshoot and they seemed to have fun with it. She was in the spotlight for being a bitch and a whore at the time, so of course you'd believe what the media said (Britney included). Also back then many tried to come up with issues and rivalry between Britney and Christina, stuff which both denied as time passed. Sure Christina's pettiness at times like that TRL comment she had made (i believe it was in 2003 and the clip must be somewhere on youtube) spiked those claims but at the end of the day, she didn't go out of her way to harm her and Britney kept ignoring such comments. Christina can be a bitch sometimes and I say that as a lifelong fan, who's always had her as her no 1 favorite woman singer and still do, but one to steal your man and be like that? I can't see it I am sorry. She is free to prove me wrong too, but I can see how Britney could feel that way if, after her breakup with Justin that's one of the first shoots he did (which I believe isn't the case, cause they broke up in 2002 and the shoot happened in 2003, right?), or if his friendship with Christina got stronger after their breakup because Justin approached her more.

I dunno. All I hope is that Britney gets to live happily from now on, with a man who loves and respects her and that's it.

I really don't understand why Amazon did not make a TV series taking place in the Third Age which they actually have the rights to. Like, there isn't much more information about the second (especially since they can only use like 1/4 of it) and also imagine a show about the Gondorian kin-strife.

Quick summary: A prince of Gondor married a woman of the "Northmen" (ancestors of the Rohirrim or sth), Eldacar was their son and when his time came to inherit there was a civil war because some Gondorians didn't want a mixed-blood king. A relative named Castamir usurped the throne and got Eldacar's son killed. Eldacar himself escaped and with the help of his mother's people and a fair part of Gondor that was still loyal to him reclaimed his birthright after many years of war -

And anyway it seems like the whole concept should be something that would appeal to today's audiences (say what you will about Tolkien and racism, but there are themes in the text that disdaining people because of their ancestry is just wrong) but they missed the chance -

Or they could have done it about something else from the Third Age -

Or if they had to do it about the Second (but doing that without the rights to the Silmarillion isn't the best idea), they could have absolutely done so much better.

I realized just now thinking about this - there are like no themes or motifs in the series at this point. It's just a mindless rehash of the Lord of the Rings movies without any of the depth, as if they only had the most shallow and hazy memory of the film.

And - I don't think a work has to be about current problems. But. If they wanted they could have inserted hot topics- there is colonialism etc, they could have also made a point about society views aging - and they decided to include a line about "elves stealing jobs" instead which was just about the dumbest thing in this show for me.

No depth. In a work based on Tolkien's Legendarium of all things!

Tldr, Amazon should have made the show about the Third Age and if they were doing it about the second they could have one it so much better. And if you want to make it about current issues - there were so many ways to do that

Life has been a bit of a mess so i'm coming here to straighten some things out.

my health anxiety has spiralled out of control over the past one year, and i've only recently started to try and get that under control. Physically i'm just exercising more cos it pretty much prevents me from thinking much cos i'm so WINDED. but i think i might need to do more, like changing the way i think. i've been avoiding triggers as well, and being more rational because the crux of healthy anxiety is irrationality. I think i've made some progress. it's not perfect but this is better than about a month back when i was just still so helpless and upset. I stamped down on happy feelings cos i was too afraid i will discover sth abt my health that would steal my happiness away. i think this was when j realised this has been toxic af and just not a good way to live. I'm definitely continuing with exercising, i might also purchase books on general anxiety/ health anxiety to help since i'm just not comfortable with counselling and don't rly wna spend money on that too.

Earning more money is definitely sth i'm striving towards. I think this was one of the biggest reasons why i wanted to switch jobs - i was blinded by just wanting more money and positioned myself to make rash decisions. I'm thinking reits/ dividend stocks but imma wait out the crash then we'll see ig.

career wise i'm happy to stay here. i've been making minor mistakes here and there. as minor as they are i know would get might SHAT on if i'm in a bigger firm. with my anxiety that's just a horrible mix. and the pay increase is super nice so i'm happy to stay and serve the community.

L and I have had this problem for so long. about me not showing my affection... i think it's a combination of several factors:

1. i'm a literal newborn when it comes to physical affection. i think the last time my dad showed me physical affection was he held me as a child LOL but that doesn't mean my parents didn't love me. they just showed me love in more practical ways and i appreciate it 100%. it's just that's kinda a big influence on how i perceive and give love since that's how i lived my life for so long. even my close friends can tell i'm rly bad with physical affection, but nah they r chill abt it.

2. feminism??? i hesitate to blame it on feminism - maybe it is more apt to describe me as an independent and rational female? i just feel 不平衡 like why should we be intimate if this ain't going anywhere? cos it just don't feel like you are taking the relationship seriously anyway and i feel like i'm losing out. but i'm standing my ground for this - it's my belief and it's my choice. i'm already giving myself so much anxiety AS IS i don't need anymore negative energy.

i have to think hard about what i want. whether this is something important to me. and it is, i felt very sad imagining a future without him and i feel like my anxiety and stuff is taking that away from me. i've come to realise that. so i gotta change.

The love that's portrayed is very very wholesome and is to be found in other One Direction songs, like Olivia or Drag Me Down. They're the sun. Their source of light. Follow-up question regarding kurtbastian bc I tried scrolling through your kurtbastian tag and saw mainly art and idk if this is sth you've talked about recently/ever lol: which one of them do you think would fall for the other first?

I don't think I've ever really talked about this, so thank you so much for the question! It's a great one.

I'm not sure if this is necessarily how it would happen, but I think in general my preferred way of it happening is Sebastian falling for Kurt first.

Kurtbastian's rivarly thing they have going on is basically Sebastian's fault. Like, if Sebastian wasn't some smug ass kid with a superiority complex trying to steal his boyfriend, Kurt wouldn't have a problem with him. But Sebastian waltzes in with a smirk on his face and woos Blaine with all the charm in the world, so obviously Kurt immediately can't stand the guy. And Sebastian loves that, so he keeps it up, because it amuses him. It's a game for him, whereas for Kurt he's legitimately pissed off about it. So I think for it to work, it's better if Sebastian falls first, because eventually his sniping would become less malicious and more fond. And I think that's the point where Kurt might start to warm up to him, when he notices the tone and intent of their exchanges has shifted. He has his guard up too much otherwise.

However, I do want to make it clear that this by no means means that Sebastian would admit to his feelings first. I think Kurt would develop feelings second, but he'd admit them first, and he'd have to basically force Sebastian to confess his own. Sebastian probably wouldn't even realize it at first, and then when he finally does he basically goes through the 7 stages of grief because Sebastian Smythe does not fall in love, nope absolutely not no way no how not a chance.
