Summary: Dean starts falling in love with him on a slow Sunday morning under slanted sunlight that slips through the gaps in the trees.

"When did it stick for you? When did your six hundred Sundays start?" Dean asks.

"It never started," Castiel admits. "It simply never stopped. My love for you is eternal—existing forever, without a beginning or an end."

Visually, Castiel's love is a circle. Aurally, it's an echo. Kinesthetically, it's breathing. Overall, it is not fate, and it is not chance; it is choice. He would not choose differently if he could go back and do it again, and that's why he didn't choose differently from the start.

Commentary: A good Cas POV is hard to come by. He is a creature so complex that the human mind isn't able to comprehend the way he things or even how he looks. As a result, often fics with his POV feel weird, out of character or naive.

The author manages to narrate Cas' thoughts is such, such a beatiful way. It's deep, it's straight-forward, it's smart, it's poetic.

A character trait both Dean and Cas have is bravery - it's hard to write bravery, because you have to think outside the box. In this story, both Dean and Cas are so so brave. Sure, they repress feelings and desires, because they're still them, but they're so brave when they can!

The story follow a post canon world, where Dean, Cas, Sam and Jack are in the bunker. Dean builds Cas a gazebo on his favorite place in the woods around the bunker. Cas reflects on how he believes he is witnessing Dean fall in love with him.

And the way the author describes what being in love feels like is so so so good!

Short enough to be read in an hour or two, will make your day better!

Dean doesn't think about it. Not about what it means, not about what it makes them, not about how it affects him. This life—that's not how things work. It's just this, these "in the moment" moments that always slip right out of his fingers because he lets them. He doesn't try to hold onto them, and neither does Cas, and maybe they shouldn't.Cas kisses him like no one else does, like no one else ever has. Dean absolutely does not think about it unless it's happening to him, and then he doesn't have the ability to think at all. What does it say about him that he occasionally kisses his best friend, who's a man? Dean doesn't know, and he doesn't really want to find out, either.

Happy Holidays, everyone! I’m glad that I was able to get something out this year, even if I’m slightly hesitant about posting this.

For context, @sobsicles , the author of this work, has not been active online for a year and a half now. In fact, the day I messaged them asking for permission was the day they went MIA. I originally held off on finishing this project (I had already recorded the entire thing prior to messaging them, thinking that I would get permission right away...lesson learned) waiting for them to come back online. However, I think it’s clear that they are not returning to this space or fandom anytime soon.

It’s commonly acknowledged as best practice in the podfic community to obtain author permission before posting a podfic of their work, because some authors don’t want their work transformed in this way; I’ve experienced that first hand. With that said, after looking through sobsicles’ blog, they definitely have a positive view of podfics and even listen to them. That gives me a bit of comfort and makes me think that they would not mind having their work podficced and shared. Of course, should they return at some point and ask that it be taken down, I will immediately comply.
