in honor of steven and the ghoul boys shitting the proverbial bed, here's some of my favorite youtube channels/podcasts with similar vibes!

michael reeves: an extremely unhinged youtuber who makes robots! he only posts once or twice a year, but his videos are super worth it!

sorta stupid: my favorite reaction channel. these guys are super chill and funny, and they are the ultimate allies (go check out their toh series if you wanna see them be huge lumity shippers!)

microwave society: they also do reactions, but they specialize in shitty kids movies (and the occasional classic like megamind or shrek). check out their veggietales videos if you want to laugh until you puke.

max0r: does unhinged video game reviews that are like crack for people with adhd.

anthpo: he's not making videos anymore, but all his stuff is up on youtube and he perfectly balances feel-good and funny.

cryptid keeper podcast: this podcast has major early-unsolved vibes and they somewhat have the skeptic/believer dynamic as well.

One of the things that upset me about Watcher "pay your artists" is that they have series covering others work, like Too Many Spirits and Are You Scared, and I really doubt that they paid the author of Smile Dog to use their story and I'm pretty sure most were free submissions at the time, which is ironic since they might not be able to afford the new subscription

a headcanon that @bugsinspace shared with me and that i have adopted is that sticksfight.com is actually a digital, online fighting ring, where the sticks (blue, green, red and yellow) would fight purely for other's amusement.

sticksfight isn't super well known due to it being very illegal. true, fighting is a very big part of stick culture (see navy assumingly being a fairly strong fighter, and attempting to train purple to do the same), and because of this there are many other sites like sticksfight. however, there are a lot of rules and regulations in place, and your site has to be legally certified in order to keep any digitals/gamehopping traditionals safe. (i tend to stick to bugs' lore, when it comes to how the alan becker verse works.)

however, sticksfight does not stick to these rules (pun unintended). there are almost no rules or regulations, and unlike most sites, where you can choose to leave/retire, sticksfight sticks are trapped there, forced to fight each other in order to earn the right to eat and rest. the sticks that reside in stickfight are either abducted and forced to stay in sticksfight, or born/made there, the latter being the case for the color gang (with the exception of orange, of course). the whole thing is basically the stick equivalent of human trafficking, and probably one of the worst cases of it.

thankfully, sticksfight.com isn't a thing anymore at this point in the ava/avm world. not long after ava 4, sticksfight ended up getting shut down and the creator of the site was arrested. it's still regarded as one of the worst stick trafficking cases of all time.

the effects of being in stickfight...still very much affect the fighting sticks. but they're doing much better now :)
