i still think it's so hilarious how w/ the features i chose for my keykid, it resulted in xehanort actually looking like he could be a legit ephelayer kid

got some character/outfit design ideas for that original LoZ story i mentioned :3c

started tentatively as a straight up modern persona au, but def has changed alot already. like i'm having it take place in an equivalent 1900s/1910s setting (in terms of aesthetics at least). and also already need to make several design changes cause that uniform i have doesn't rlly work anymore. with zelda's princess dress too i'm thinking of changing it to the slimmer dress fit u see in the 1910s versus the teen's party dress of the same time i originally based the look after

overall tho, this story is def persona based still, BUT is gonna have like a even mixture of nier reincarnation and splatoon side order in there too (like i'm giving my impa a whole sequence that is a blatant reference to the marina agitando fight)

and one last detail for interest, the key theme i'm trying to aim for with this story is Subject To The Cycle

The princess in the tower

I’ve had a little princess locked in a tower for ages.

I trapped her in a time capsule, locked her away, kept her safe from the outside world.

She was a secret, no one knew she existed. Thought perhaps she had grown up and moved on in life... the way I had.

But I still had her. She was small and sweet. A little strange, but cute.

I was the only one that knew how to get to her. I was the only one that knew where she was. She was so well hidden, that sometimes I forgot she was there. But the tower would draw me in, and I would be reminded of her existence. It was there that we played together, talked, and learned about each other.

I told her I was scared of someone finding her, but she didn’t understand why. I was afraid someone would hate me for having her there.

In all honesty, I was ashamed.

I couldn’t explain it to her, I thought maybe she would be sad. Maybe offended? Angry?

...

One day, while I was keeping her company, someone climbed the tower.

Through the window, came a prince with fire in his hair and passion burning in his eyes. He was someone I had seen before, spoken to briefly. He was tenacious and interesting, but this took me by surprise.

She was scared but excited to have someone new in her tower. I sat back and watched them interact. With her, he was less firey but just as passionate. He was patient and kind. He played with her, talked with her, and indulged all her little fantasies. I hadn’t seen her this happy in so long.

He stayed just until it was time for her to go to bed. He tucked her in, kissed her on the forehead, and she was dreaming.

Before he climbed back down, he told me he’d like to come back and see this princess again soon. I was so surprised, I didn’t know what to say. Someone knew of her and didn’t resent me for her existence. Someone found out my secret and just accepted it, embraced it even. It was so much more than I could have hoped for.

...

The prince keeps coming back to the tower. His presence always cheers up the little princess.
