It's understandable why most places will have their Christmas stuff out early. But I can't help but feel a little sad. Whenever November comes around, the autumn/fall aesthetic isn't there anymore. When it does, it is rare. I remember back when I started out on my art journey, I signed up to a startup organization that was similar to Upwork, Freelancer and the other sites for freelancing. They brought me a client who wanted their family members in disney style but will be okay if my style seeps in. I agree though it wasn’t great at copying other styles. I did 2 illustrations in the best disney style I could and after sending it over not only there was no reply back rather they accepted it or want to move onto another artist. After a few months of no reply, I took the hint. After that, I felt a little bit ashamed that I couldn't mimic a style and not even get a reply back of any kind was surprisingly hurtful. Though I still continue to create art, the feeling still lingers on. Now I'm okay with it, I don't need to seek validation or approval for my work to be valuable. When someone or anyone wants to work with me or commission me then it's because they like the work I do, the style it's in now. I decide how my work will be portrayed in the world, if I feel like it needs to change then I will ask for criticism and improvements on my work.
