unfortunately the hollow lands is our home game so we don’t record it! most of us got into dnd via actual play so we just say season/episode/finale as a joke :D

You look like you faceplanted in a bucket of tomatoes. How do you have any blood left in your fingers to use the utensils? I'm actually kind of impressed!

Don’t you lot burn your saviours?
Tomlen’s thoughts on Andraste, the Creators and the Chantry are complicated, and unfortunately inescapable. He does not mind fixing the Breach and cleaning up after dragons and demons, but religion and politics remain difficult swords to juggle and keep in the air- and something he can’t ignore for long.

Can Solas Actually Die?
Here's something that's kinda messing with me over the whole 'will your protagonist have the option to kill Solas' question.
Can he even die?
I'm sure his physical body can die. But plenty of characters in this franchise have proven that it's possible for certain individuals to essentially defy death because they don't need a physical form to continue existing and operating within the world.
If he's anything like Mythal, being dead probably would be more of a setback than a definitive end. In fact, I think there's a strong possibility that the Solas we met in Inquisition isn't the original Solas in the sense that he isn't inhabiting his original body. I have my theories on that, but won't get into them here as they're not terribly relevant.
So hypothetically, if Solas doesn't need a living body to...you know live then what does that mean for his role in the next game? Let's say the protagonist does have the option to kill him. Assuming he was always going to have a change of heart and end up siding with Team Protagonist regardless of how the PC feels about him would he then be Spirit Solas for the rest of the game?
Picture that. We reach the climax of the first big story arc in the game. Whatever Big Thing we know is going to happen has happened. Solas is at the mercy of the PC and there's the big moment. Spare him or kill him. Mercy or death. Our hypothetical PC choses death and that goes however the heck it goes. Big fat Varric Greatly Disapproves banner pops up.
Everybody goes back to the base and it's tense and awkward and doesn't really feel like the victory the PC might have been expecting. All scrambling to figure out what to do in the wake of the Big Thing. And then when the PC goes off to brood and think about what the next steps are--surprise bitch!
The guy you just killed is right there with you, and he's going to help wether you like it or not.
Idk why but I would find that so entertaining? The rest of the game is essentially the most awkward buddy cop adventure in history. The spirit of your former adversary is now the sidekick you begrudgingly have to drag along Thedas with you because he has information and abilities you're gonna need to save the world. Fuckin golden.

Taken from this interview.
I love how this interviewer was already trying to get Patrick Weekes to confirm back in 2016 if Solas was a spirit in every possible way other than simply asking if Solas was a spirit. lol

i saw your wolf Walker headcanon and I loved it. And it also made me think of my own take on it where instead of Castlevania characters. How about Dragon Age characters like Cullen, Dorian, Cassandra, Josephine, Varric, Cole, Iron Bull, and Solas with an Elven Inquisitor S/O who is secretly a Wolf Walker. (+Fenris with a non-Inquisitor wolf Walker S/O)
Yes!! I adore Dragon Age (excited for the new series too 👀)
Tumblr media
Cullen - Maker’s Breath but you look as commanding and regal as you do in human form!!
Dorian - for once, the sass master was too stunned to speak but that stare you hold with him speaks volumes
Cassandra - she remembers how patient and understanding you were when discussing love and marriage, and she’ll be the same talking about your abilities
Josephine - thinking this is something she once read out of fairy tale book; equally fascinated but worried if some hunter(s) gets the wrong impression
Fenris - at first he thought this was a new mage trick the first time he saw, but then you explain more about your nature and background, and he starts to feel a closer kinship of sorts with you
Varric - is protective AF and if it’s new to you, then he absolutely helps you with your skills and on how to control them, lest some groups get too suspicious of you
Cole - a sweet soul meeting a wolf spirit. You protect him and he adores you, thinking of the poems and bard songs that praise such beings
Iron Bull - welp there you go, stealing his heart again!! He can’t help but admire you in wolf form and if you two are just sitting in a forest, he’ll absently be letting your fur
Solas - strategic as he may be, discovering this new side to you equally fascinates and throws him off guard. That being said, sadly, he tries to figure out how your skill will benefit him

happy sleepover saturday, sola! what's some of your favorite vietnamese foods? i've heard there's good vietnamese food in the area i just moved to and i would love some recommendations of things to try!
happy sleepover saturday shiloh! ooh okay some categories:
i think genuinely everyone should try these at least once, and they're pretty easy to find many places:
pho (beef noodle soup, there are also chicken and vegetarian [chay] versions)
banh mi (sandwich on a french baguette–"dac biet" aka combo style will often have some different bbq meats, pickled radish and carrot, and cilantro)
harder to find but i like them a lot:
bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup with a tomato-y broth)
che (dessert pudding, great on a hot day, lots of different boba-like toppings. bambu is the most popular us chain)
my personal favorites, mostly central region or home-cooking specialties that are harder to find elsewhere, unless there's a vietnamese deli:
xoi (sticky rice! my favorite savory kind has chinese sausage and chicken, and my favorite sweet kind is bright red and sprinkled with sugar, sesame seed, and dried coconut, but there are lots of different "flavors")
mi quang (my all time favorite food. bright yellow noodles, tomato-y soup, shellfish and pork and banana flower shreds. it's peak central cuisine to me)
banh bot loc (crystal tapioca dumplings) and banh nam (flat dumplings wrapped in banana leaf)
ca kho/thit kho (braised caramel sauce fish or pork belly, sometimes with eggs! ideal homecooked meal)
ca ri ga (chicken curry! thinner than most indian or japanese curries—you can dip a baguette into it and soak up all the good broth)

Hi! Your posts bring me so much joy, I love reading them! How would the inquisition companions react to an inquisitor who is expecting that they will die in the fight against Corypheus? An inquisitor that has fully accepted death, isn't happy about it but doesn't see a way out, and is making their final goodbyes with everyone, because they know that they won't survive this, and that the hero always has to die in the end
Cassandra is no stranger to death. She hails from Nevarra, where death is a common topic of conversation. She has seen death take her parents and she has watched it take her brother. Yet she has never before seen someone so easily give death their hand and allow it into their embrace. That someone being the Inquisitor, no less. Cassandra is terrified. And she is so, so proud. "This is not goodbye forever," she says. "Only goodbye for now." She means it.
Varric knows shitty odds like the back of his hand. What were the odds that he'd survive Corypheus, or Meredith, or even the blasted Thaig his brother trapped him in? It takes courage to face shitty odds and more courage to be realistic about them. Doesn't mean Varric has to be happy about it. Why does the hero always have to die in the end? He can see there's no talking the Inquisitor out of this one, so he says his goodbyes and plans to write a book about a hero, the dangers they face and their very happy ending.
Solas is numb. It's better than feeling anything else. He can't have any regrets about his original intentions with the veil... but that doesn't mean he can't regret the circumstances the Inquisitor finds themself in. And regret he does, but in his own time, in a quiet place that doesn't reflect the fight to come. "Perhaps you may survive this yet," he offers, but his words are hollow and tinged with sadness.
Dorian doesn't know what to say. For a man with many words, he's not often rendered speechless. And it's not like he's not seen this before. Felix was of the same mind... so Dorian offers them a drink. If it is their last hours together, they may as well have fun. And he's going to make damn well sure he cherishes every moment, and to not let his best friend go without a fight.
Sera wants to yell until she's red in the face. Not at the Inquisitor, but at the circumstances that put them in that position. It's not fair. She knows life isn't fair - the people she helps are a demonstration of that. But the Inquisitor, her friend... they've beaten the odds before. They have to beat them again. They have so many more pranks to pull, cookies to bake and precious time to spend together. Fuck Corypheus for taking that away from her.
Blackwall doesn't want to say goodbye. Goodbyes are too final for his liking. Far too final for someone he cares about. So he decides to give the Inquisitor a gift. A good luck charm of sorts, carved from wood by his own hand and delicately painted in the Inquisitor's favourite colours. It's not a goodbye, not really. Just a very fond farewell.
Cole has watched a lot of people die. Some of those people he killed himself. Always they fought against death, clinging onto life like they clung onto his hand. Then Cole moved on to the next person who needed his help, never thinking back, never grieving for the soul that slipped from his grasp. This time is different, and oddly enough he finds himself mourning someone who hasn't even left. He sits with the Inquisitor, says goodbye, and makes sure that they will be remembered... that no one will forget.
The Iron Bull doesn't know what to say. What do you say to someone who's going to die? What does anyone say? 'You will get through this'? A lie. He doesn't lie anymore. And, as Bull is finding out, he hates goodbyes. So he sits there in silence, a mug of ale in his hand, and tells the truth - he's glad to have the Inquisitor with him, here at the end of all things.
Vivienne suspected the Inquisitor would come to this conclusion. They are smart, realistic, and not shy about their odds. It's part of what she likes about them. She sits them down, takes their hands into her own and tells them she is very, very proud of them. "You have taken us further than I could ever have believed, my dear. Thank you for everything... and be safe."
