#solar system vocabulary
Note
An idea came to me reading a fic where Danny was a kryptonian. What if Amity Park instead of being a city in the USA on Earth was once a city on Krypton (in what would be a kryptonian version of early 21st century or at least about 100 years before the planet blew up). Basically almost everything that happened in cannon DP happened and everything is mostly the same but with a more alien then earth tone to it.
After Phantom Planet Danny's parents except him being part ghost, the government overturn the Ecto Acts, and he able to finish high school and goes on to college after which he is happily welcomed to for work for KASA (Krypton Aeronautics and Space Administration). He becomes an Astronautical engineer. Danny is in his early thirties when he is testing out a new experimental space ship engine for KASA. While doing a flight test Danny's ship losses signal and no one can find it (kind of what happened in the show Farscape).
100s of years go by Krypton explodes baby Kal-El is sent to Earth where he grows up to be Superman. The JL suddenly get a signal/warning about some alien tech on the edge of the solar system. They send one of the Green Lanterns to take a look, where they report a spaceship dead in space. They don't expect any life forms but surprise because of his ghost half Danny was in a sort of suspended animation. He is brought back and wakes up in the Watch Tower.
Just Random ideas...
Kryptonite is the crystalized form of ectoplasm because of this Danny is not effected by it.
Danny's kryptonian name is Daniel Fen-Ton
The phantom zone projector was originally called the Fen-Ton zone projector or is was based off a Fen-Ton gadget.
Years after Danny disappears Krypton starts turning on ghost again, so the town of Amity, which now has a symbiotic relationship with ghost, vote to pull the whole town into the Ghost Zone. So it is not blown up like the rest of the planet though Danny does not know this in the beginning.
Danny has an easier time learning to use Earth technology then he does the Kryptonian technology in Superman's Fortress.
Danny also has slightly easier time when getting the regular Kryptonian power set due to the yellow sun because he went through something similar when getting his ghost powers.
Danny adopts Connor almost immediately. Maybe during Danny's time there was laws about cloning and clone rights on Krypton. Also while Connor is not a replacement he sort of fills in the void of losing Ellie.
While Superman has no idea who Danny is, Kara/Supergirl has a faint idea because he was briefly mentioned in her Krytonian History class. Also she is happy to have someone who can natively speak the kyrptonian language even if it has older vocabulary. Don't get her wrong its great to speak it with Kal-El but he learned it later in life.
Holly char this is amazing!
How many people will have a stroke when they see Danny casually pick up a piece of kryptonite? Batman? His normal Kryptonian contingency plan won't work. Luthor? There's a version of superman IMMUNE to Kryptonite. Clark? What the hell do you mean you can touch kryptonite
I think after Danny explains everything about his past and species so many people are going to just...give up. Hahaha a stronger version of superman who isn't effected by kryptonite, goodbye world
Connor will be ecstatic, Danny will do ALL the dad stuff, teaching him their language, proper training, engineering lessons and you bet he's going to use jazz's psychiatrist stuff on this kid
Danny's probably going to get mega-depressed, all his hard work breaking the racism against ghosts only for that to come back a few years after he left? And he can't even fix it again because their world went bye-bye
Also- here me out
Co-pilot Valerie

A CALLING
Tumblr media
warnings: angst but sweet?
summary: A broken man manages to obtain the heart of someone greater than him, someone he thinks he is truly undeserving of, someone he is utterly devoted to.
note: higher ranked!reader x character
This is honestly pure word vomit I didn't bother to proofread but it will satisfy all the delulu girlies out there. Shoutout to Senri Shiki, this is for you bbg <3
Tumblr media
It surprises him really, how all it took was that innocent child-like smile for everything to change. His views of the world seeming less dark and voided as it was now filled with clear skies, not a single cloud as he has deemed you fit to be his own personal sun, lighting up the solar system and anything else your rays could reach.
It concerns him really, how easily you managed to shake his already brittle heart, damaged from the things of this world he thought he could rely on, he thought that he could freely embrace but at last, nothing good ever stays for long. He tries, he truly tries to be less voided. Of his emotions and overall being, but the journey he had since birth reinforced it as an act of self defense.
It confuses him really, how you chose him over the thousands of suitors who could give you better. A life on a pedestal he could not reach, a place that you knew all your life that was always so out of reach for him. He doesn't see himself as anything special despite how often you tell him otherwise. He wasn't depressed or suicidal, simply a bit conflicted with himself since birth but managed to live a life many envied but was insignificant compare to how you held the stars in your hands.
He didn't care about what you had access to, what material possessions you could gain at the snap of your fingers and definitely not how the world viewed you. The thoughts and opinions of the world are something he doesn't consider worth listening to anymore, a voice he, himself forcefully silenced as nothing but broken promises and baseless relationships echoed in his mind. But you were different, you were genuine with no intention to deceive. An angel sent from above that worked with his roughly clipped wings and nothing more, you just wanted him.
It calms him really, how your presence always sparks this feeling deep inside to treasure you. No matter what you did he saw no wrong within your actions and he knew he was foolish for it but he couldn't care less. The word "no" was something completely foreign in his vocabulary when it came to you, your sweet words and loving caresses were like a lullaby slowly healing his troubled soul. The need to protect you from the wicked way of the world was so tempting, a calling is how he puts it. Because he swore he would bring the world down, him included if necessary, if it meant keeping that beautiful smile of yours still full of sincerity and love when you looked at him.

i never thought i would see the word "hospital" in the same sentence as "bombarded" or "massacre."
and yet, injured and displaced civilians were massacred once again in the bombardment of al-Shifa Hospital. idf warplanes once again targeted three hospitals in the gaza strip : al-Shifa, al-Quds, and Indonesian Hospital.
what kind of self-defense requires you to airstrike ambulances full of the wounded? were infants blown to pieces "hamas"? in what kind of world do you have to document your grief and horror just for individuals across the world to believe and legitimize what you're going through and still have vile scum in the comments questioning it. but israel only has to claim people died and they receive aid and folks yawping for justice.
you'll hear zionists cry that they didn't MAKE Palestinians leave. meanwhile, israel cut electricity, contaminated the land's water resources, splashed boiling water or acid on Palestinian children, and threatened catastrophe after catastrophe if they didn't leave. the idf, who tie number tags on their hostages and assault them and humilate them further by recording their torment, also uses civilians as target practice if they stay or protest.
it's also worth repeating : israel controls the census and civil registration system in gaza. so every journalist and their families' murder is a deliberate act committed with the intent to further violate IHL and IHRL under which all war correspondents are protected. the geneva conventions are useless amidst all this.
the idf cut food and water and bombed bakeries.
they cut fuel and are now bombing solar panels.
the healthcare system in gaza has completely collapsed. doctors are performing surgeries on the floor.
israel has no purpose with the exception of inflicting unspeakable pain on a completely besieged population.
there are no words left. there is no apt vocabulary for this in the english language. i doubt there is in any vernacular.
how do you describe such barbaric cruelty in a language that humans speak?

this is only like a 40% serious idea, but if i were going to reform scientific vocabulary around solar system bodies (and comparable bodies orbiting other stars), i would want:
a word for anything that orbits another thing that’s not a star, regardless of size or composition (i.e., a moon)
a general subcategory for anything large enough to be rounded by gravity (”ball”), vs anything too small for that (”-let”) (regardless of what it orbits or its composition)
a general subcategory for anything with an atmosphere that doesn’t dominate its composition (”air-”)
a word for bodies dominated by a massive gaseous envelope, with sub-categories for ones more like jupiter and saturn, and ones more like neptune and uranus (”[gas] giant” or “[ice] giant”)
a word for bodies that are predominantly rocky (mercury, the moon; atmospheric subcategory includes earth, venus, mars)
a word for bodies that are predominantly icy (enceladus, europa, pluto; atmospheric subcategory includes titan)
then we could talk about airmoons and icemoons and air-ice balls, and ice giant and gas giant balls, and rock balls and rocklets and icelets, and it would all sound a bit silly, but we wouldn’t have to argue about what is or isn’t a planet, and that word can just be “the things people visit in Star Wars.”

Secret Flowers - Chapter 21
"Come on. Up we go."
Cas's hands slid beneath his arms from behind and Dean grumbled for form's sake, but then wrapped his fingers around the lumpy, scrolled top and heaved and got his feet under him and, with Cas supporting him from behind, he found himself upright, blinking, swaying slightly and then shivering as the water on his body dried in what felt like cold, cold, unfriendly air after the cosiness of the bath water.
Then one of the huge bath sheets - a blue one - flung around his shoulders and Cas was helping him out of the bath and onto the fluffy blue mat in the shape of a cloud (a new purchase). And then he was drying Dean, not with the vigorous rubbing and tickling you might use with a small child (Dean had used that technique on Cas before) but smoothing his hands over the towel gently, over Dean’s chest, carefully down each arm, his hands moving slowly over his back, pausing to massage his shoulder muscles. Dean’s head dropped forward and he groaned in satisfaction.
"s good."
"I'm glad." Cas crouched to dry Dean’s legs and then stood, slipping his arms around Dean’s waist from behind, resting his head on his shoulder. "Are you going to tell me?"
Ah. Hmm. He could say there was nothing to tell. He could go for the usual, "I'm fine," and maybe add, "All good in the land of Dean!" just to add to the effect of fineness.
But this was Cas. Cas who'd made him a delicious dinner - if the enticing meaty smell was anything to go by - Cas who'd brought him in from the cold, who'd run him a hot, deep bath, who'd helped him out of the bath and dried him like he was a precious thing to be cherished; which Cas did - he did cherish Dean. And, up to now, the word wouldn't have been anywhere in the orbit - or even the solar system - of Dean’s vocabulary. But now he couldn’t deny it - he felt well and truly cherished.

i’m like a third of the way into tress of the emerald sea but it’s such a fun book actually i’m lying i’m about to reach the halfway point now that i had a good look instead of trying to do maths in my head (always a bad idea) and i haven’t had this much fun following a fantasy adventure/quest in a while. i don’t remember the heathen who i heard call this “cosy fantasy” but i wish we could remove the world cosy from everyone’s vocabulary until they learn what it means but it’s definitely not cosy in the same way as stardust (the movie) isn’t cosy. it’s an ADVENTURE! fun and relatively low stake as far as the fate of the world and i guess several other solar systems are concerned but not cosy. good fantasy summer book! will come back with the definitive review tomorrow

did you pull from the irl zodiacs when making the thirteen prime zodiac stuff or did you start ground up?
Yes and no. Good question.
Disclaimer: I do not subscribe to astrology of any sort. It's generally disallowed in Judaism, but your mileage may vary depending on who you talk to.
NOW ONTO THE ANSWER
I drew from the popularized Western, new age-y zodiac in as much as "vague predictions and assumed traits based on the sun sign when you were born" general concept.
After that I started making stuff up.
Any specifics for personality associations were based on a list of domains I had already pulled for mapping the Thirteen to deities for Solar Flare.
I also decided to use Cybertron's sun as one of the stars because that seemed appropriately counterintuitive.
And straight up having two "signs" (the Fallen & Liege Maximo) that people straight up don't talk about/ignore seemed amusing.
I also had Rodimus do it poorly on purpose based on how it tends to get used, so there is room to go "here's how the system he's allegedly using actually functions." He used the watered down stereotypes of how it works.
There's plenty of room for expansion, such as:
-vocabulary to describe people who fall under certain groups -stereotypes -what data/calculations are actually used to make predictions -how deep/complex varieties of the system can be (have you seen those complicated natal charts? holy shit) -whether or not it matters if you were forged or cold constructed -what the cycles of the stars are like especially since they live long enough individuals can actually see the which stars are visible in their sky changing as their solar system hurtles around the galaxy (do new stars get assigned the job? do new constellations get named and plopped in or replace old ones? does that change the understanding of that sign?)

Sagittarius Season 🏹
Sagittarius Season comes on November 22, and lasts nearly through the holiday season, ending on December 21. The days are becoming shorter and the nights longer, but luckily, Sagittarius is a bold, fire sign that will both make us feel more brave and more optimistic.
Symbol: The Archer, The Centaur Modality: Mutable Element: Fire Ruling Planet: Jupiter Colors: Purple, Dark Blue Body: hips, thighs, liver Tarot Card: Temperance
Adventurous • Open-Minded • Optimistic • Honest
Tumblr media
In the northern hemisphere, there is a feeling of change in the air as the warm days of fall begin to wane, and hints of the oncoming cold winter season are beginning to take hold. Sagittarius season begins on November 22, the time of year when the days are shorter and the nights become dominant. Sagittarius are the wanderers of the zodiac, not afraid of the coming darkness. They are fearless, seeking the truth in any way that they must.
The symbol of Sagittarius is usually an arrow pointing upwards representing Sagittarius always aiming for a higher spiritual ideal and philosophy in life. In Greek mythology, Sagittarius is associated with The Centaur Chiron, who was a master in archery. He healed and mentored Achilles, helping him to be victorious in the Trojan War. The Sagittarius’ connection to travel, higher knowledge and truth seeking stems from centaurus’ questing attributes, but also Chiron’s kind and most generous ones. Being half-human, the archer holds both an intelligent, civilized side, but is also an untamed beast, embodying the balance of primal instinct and wisdom.
In classical astrology, Jupiter ruled both Pisces and Sagittarius. The day home of Jupiter was Sagittarius, an adaptive fire sign that allows for expansion and joy. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and reflects the most light from the Sun, which was why it was recognized as having the greatest power to give luck and good fortune. This planetary rulership adds another layer to the qualities of Sagittarius, being its greatest source for the sign’s optimism, enthusiasm and friendliness.
Sagittarius’ enthusiasm, truth-seeking, and brutal honesty is kindled by the fire element. Sagittarius is a mutable sign who holds elemental energy of change and adaptation at the end of the four seasons. This mutable, fiery presence begins to prepare the stage for the next seasonal performance and describes Sagittarius’ restless, change-seeking and adventurous nature. The Archer’s sense of purpose is all about seeking the universal truths of life. This sign will go to the ends of the Earth to see and experience all that life has to offer for themselves. This is where they get their manta “I see”.
Temperance is the Tarot card associated with Sagittarius. Depicted in the traditional cards is an angelic figure, calm and focused as they balance a flow between two chalices. This angelic figure has one foot on land, and the other in water, demonstrating the balanced harmony between fluidity and stability that exists between intuition and the capacity to make tangible. This card speaks to the temperate nature that can help harness Sagittarius’ naturally expansive and enthusiastic exploration, making the insights gained into something sustainable and attainable.
Sagittarius is unique with its blend of passion, curiosity and adaptability. Their quest for knowledge knows no bounds. They are born to explore and need the freedom to roam. They are incredible entertainers and creatives. They are also known for their bluntness, and sometimes, brutal honesty can lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings. The good news is Sagittarius doesn’t take anything too seriously, so it’s difficult to stay mad at these wild optimists.
The word “enough” doesn’t exist in this sign’s vocabulary. When Sagittarius is intrigued, they go all in. That is, until something else catches their eye. They don’t stay on a single fascination for too long. They have many passions and interests.
Sagittarius are known for their larger than life spirits! They are captivating characters who can light up a room with their stimulating tales, infectious laughs, and dynamic charm. They easily attract friends with their innate humor. They infuse all conversations with their “no bullshit” attitude. They are fun, playful and philosophical at the same time. Their spirit is fueled by their passion for knowledge, so they relish in learning about everything.
Tumblr media
How Can Sagittarius Season Affect Us?
The shift from Scorpio Season to Sagittarius Season takes us from the underworld of depth and transformation to that of adventure and expansion. We’re shifting from emotions of water to the passions of fire, from inward focus to outward. Sag brings us up from the depths, to be reborn and filled with passion, enthusiasm and adventure. We will be ready to change up our routine, pursue different outlooks and educate ourselves. We could be feeling more optimistic, with an enthusiastic and positive outlook on life.
It’s here that we’re faced with the questions; Where did we come from? What is life? Is there a meaning to existence or do I create my own? Is there something larger leading me or is it all up to me? Can these questions be answered objectively? They are doorways to expand perspective, indulge in curiosity and broaden life’s lens.
Sagittarius doesn’t invite us to just learn from textbooks, classes or teachers. Knowledge doesn’t always equate wisdom, but lived experience does. Sagittarius Season will bring out the inner adventurer in all of us. We will feel curious and open-minded. Knowledge will be key, and we aren’t afraid to search in different places to find the answers.
During Sagittarius season, some people may feel a stronger urge to seek out new experiences, travel, or take risks in their lives. It can be a good time for education, intellectual growth, and expanding one's horizons. This transit fuels a more open-minded approach to life. What Sagittarius wants to know most is the meaning of life, and to find these deep answers while feeling free and simple.
Since Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion and optimism, this transit may bring a more positive and enthusiastic outlook on life for some individuals, encouraging them to see opportunities rather than obstacles. We may be feeling especially giving! That doesn’t necessarily mean spending money (though the holiday season is upon us). It could mean you’re  being more generous with your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
During this season, some people may find it easier to express their thoughts and opinions without sugarcoating, which can lead to both positive and challenging interactions. The problem is, we could be a little too open with our thoughts. Sagittarius can be extra and pushy. We will want to talk, talk, talk and share! Little irritations can lead to big arguments. A little tact goes a long way. It’s also important to remember to listen.
Sagittarius invites us to learn, make connections and expand our minds and horizons. We’re invited to hope again. It’s an opportunity to rewrite the narrative, believe in ourselves, and say yes to visions that call our name. With Sagittarius’ emphasis on experience, the season is about taking steps forward, stumbling, living, feeling, falling and getting up. It’s through experiences that we become wiser.
Tumblr media

Practice Mindfulness. With the fast-paced energy of Sagittarius, it's important to stay grounded. Incorporate mindfulness practices such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises into your routine to maintain balance and focus.

How Augmented Reality in the Classroom is Helping Students Learn Better?
Tumblr media
The modern classroom is evolving, with educators seeking innovative ways to engage students and enhance the learning experience. As technology continues to evolve, Augmented Reality (AR) has emerged as a powerful tool, bridging the gap between the physical and digital worlds.
In this article, we’ll explore the use of augmented reality in the classroom, discussing its benefits, practical applications, and the future of education.
1 Unpacking Augmented Reality in the Classroom
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that overlays digital content, such as images, videos, and 3D models, onto the real-world environment. In the classroom, AR enhances traditional teaching methods by introducing interactive and immersive elements that captivate students’ attention and foster deeper engagement with the subject matter.
Key Components of Augmented Reality in the Classroom:
Mobile Devices: AR is accessible through smartphones and tablets, making it a versatile and widely available technology for students.
AR Apps: Specialized AR apps provide students with a platform to interact with AR content and experiences.
Marker-based and Markerless AR: AR can be marker-based, where it requires specific trigger images to activate, or markerless, where it uses real-world objects and environments as triggers.
2 Benefits of Augmented Reality in the Classroom
Tumblr media
Enhanced Engagement: AR makes learning interactive and enjoyable, capturing students’ attention and motivating them to explore subjects with curiosity.
Visual Learning: Visualizing complex concepts becomes more accessible with AR, as students can interact with 3D models, diagrams, and simulations.
Real-world Applications: AR helps students see the real-world applications of what they are learning, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
Personalized Learning: AR allows for personalized learning experiences, catering to different learning styles and paces.
Active Participation: Students actively participate in lessons, manipulating virtual objects, conducting experiments, and immersing themselves in historical events.
3 Applications of Augmented Reality in the Classroom
AR is already being integrated into various subjects, transforming the learning experience in the following ways:
Science Education: AR allows students to conduct virtual science experiments, explore geological formations, and visualize the solar system in three dimensions.
Mathematics: AR can make abstract mathematical concepts tangible, with students using AR apps to manipulate geometric shapes or visualize complex equations.
History and Social Studies: AR apps bring historical events to life, enabling students to “walk through” ancient civilizations, visit landmarks, and witness key moments in history.
Language Learning: Language students can interact with AR translations, enhancing vocabulary acquisition and pronunciation.
Art and Creativity: AR enables students to create interactive art projects, enhancing creativity and self-expression.
4 Implementing Augmented Reality in the Classroom
Tumblr media
Curriculum Alignment: Ensure that AR activities align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
Teacher Training: Provide educators with training on how to incorporate AR into lessons effectively.
Access to Devices: Ensure students have access to AR-compatible devices, and consider providing devices or creating a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy.
Content Development: Invest in or create AR content and apps that are tailored to the subject matter and age of the students.
Assessment and Evaluation: Develop assessment strategies that evaluate the impact of AR on learning outcomes.
5 The Future of Augmented Reality in Education
Tumblr media
Expanded Content Libraries: AR content libraries will grow, offering a wide range of immersive educational experiences for different subjects.
Wearable AR Devices: The emergence of wearable AR devices, such as AR glasses, will further integrate AR technology into classrooms.
AI-powered Personalization: AR, combined with artificial intelligence, will provide personalized learning experiences, adapting content and pacing to individual student needs.
Global Collaboration: AR will enable global collaborative projects, where students from different parts of the world can work together on AR-enhanced projects and experiences.
Conclusion

How does a good pre school in jaipur help nurture a child’s creativity?
Tumblr media
One can find many prestigious & famous pre-schools in Jaipur that offer a refreshing environment and a curriculum that focuses on building a child's creativity. In this blog, let's discuss how a good playgroup school in Jaipur helps to nurture a child's creativity.
Cultural activities make them develop artistic skills :
Drama, dance, singing, fancy dress contests, and other forms of entertainment serve much more than only as forms of enjoyment. Children can use these platforms to express their thoughts, feelings, and many other things. Naturally, they also encourage children's imaginations because they can pretend to be well-known superheroes, experience what it's like to act, and adopt fresh viewpoints. Additionally, these tools are excellent for increasing a child's self-esteem, vocabulary, and clarity of thought. Therefore, it is usually advised to attend a school that offers extracurricular activities like these and gives them the priority they deserve.
DIY crafts and the arts:
DIY arts and crafts projects are a great way to bring out a child's creativity, whether it be through watercolor painting or clay modeling. A child's intellectual, physical, and social development will expand if these activities have set times in school. Additionally, they help children's imaginations to flourish while also improving memory, encouraging visual learning, fostering decision-making abilities, and more. The advantages are many. The activities themselves must be developed to teach through them, not only as an amusement. Therefore, the pre-primary school in Jaipur doesn't ignore the actual advantages of these courses and is the one to take into account above all others.
Developing Cognitive Skills in Arts:
A good pre-primary class in Jaipur helps in enhancing cognitive abilities in children, which is essential for creative development. The teachers at a good preschool recognize that every child has a unique learning style. Hence, they use a variety of activities and teaching methods that cater to the needs of individual children. They create opportunities that challenge children's problem-solving abilities through play, storytelling, and arts and crafts activities. Through such activities, the children learn to think outside the box and approach problems in innovative ways.
Smart classrooms :
The use of audio-visual media is essential to the learning process. Interactive illustrations and sounds help stimulate a child’s creativity and imagination. They greatly assist in the comprehension of abstract concepts and simplify the working of specific phenomenons. For instance, a funny cartoon or animation could be a simple way to teach the Solar System to kids, which they might otherwise find difficult to grasp through verbal or written communication. Many good preschools have embraced this form of learning and have created Audio/Visual-enabled classrooms.
Promoting Social Interaction:
A good toddler plays school in Jaipur values social interaction as an essential part of a child's development. Children learn to communicate, share, and work in teams. They learn to appreciate the perspectives of others, leading to a more comprehensive worldview. Social interaction helps a child to mix up with children from diverse backgrounds and cultures, leading to a rich and inclusive environment that fosters creative thinking.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, Pushpvatika, the best playgroup school in Jaipur is for nurturing a child's creativity. By encouraging children to explore their talents and abilities, they are developing the skills they need for future success. Hence, it is essential to choose the right preschool for the most potent years of a child's life.
