Hell yeah! Easily one of my favorite anime of 2023, and still going strong! You can tell the writers really understood the core dynamic of stories like Beauty and The Beast, and the more the show delves into the culture of both monsters and humans, the stronger that dynamic gets. I'm really excited to see how it will play out!

If you like Sacrificial Princess, I'd like to also recommend another similar anime from a couple years ago called Somali and The Forest Spirit! It's got a pretty similar vibe and plays on your heartstrings like a sick slap bass solo~

It’s really stupid but almost three years after I watched the anime, I read an extra of Somali And The Forest Spirit where you learn that Roza, the one who sold out Somali to human hunters even though she had spent a couple of days watching over her and playing with her, did it because her husband and her were about to lose the inn and to end up homeless.

And while it doesn’t excuse anything, it does give a new context to some things. If it wasn’t for the fact they were about to be left destitute, she probably wouldn’t have done what she did. And all the vicious things she said are colored by the fact that she was trying to put some distance between what she was about to do and her, under the faint excuse “It’s a human.”

I read fanfic with a bad ending. 'Till now I didn't truly know how heartbreakingly some of BNHA fics could be. I've only read those with LOV as a Family tag under, and thought only they could support such elements.

Then I've watched Somali and the Forest Spirit, which made me cry like a baby. Should definitely go find the Manga and read it.
