Nearly 30% of Gen Z adults identify as LGBTQ, national survey finds

I feel like this is very hopeful; towards the end of the article it says:

"Gen Z adults, along with millennials, were also more likely to identify as LGBTQ than Republican, the survey found."

And:

'“Whether it’s at the polls, in marches and rallies, or online, LGBTQ+ visibility matters and Gen Z is a force for change,” Kelley Robinson, the president of the Human Rights Campaign, the country’s largest LGBTQ advocacy group, said in a statement. “Thousands of LGBTQ+ young people turn 18 each day — and lawmakers should understand there will be repercussions in November for anti-LGBTQ+ political attacks.”'

Please vote! Our numbers are increasing, but that only makes a difference in elections if we queer people go and vote against the politicians who are against us. We gotta vote like our lives depend on it - because they do.

The discredited practice of conversion therapy for LGBTQ youth is now banned in Michigan under two pieces of legislation signed Wednesday by Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. … Michigan already bans the use of state and federal funding for conversion therapy for minors under a 2021 executive order signed by Whitmer. Including Michigan, 27 states and Washington, D.C. have enacted laws that either fully or partially ban conversion therapy for minors. Three states — Alabama, Georgia and Florida — are unable to enforce bans on conversion therapy because of a preliminary injunction that prevents them from doing so.
