OP Character's Love Languages

Characters: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Ussop, Ace and Law

Content Warning: fluff. Some angst (Sanji, Ace and Law)

Pt. 2

Luffy:

Absolutely physical touch. There is no debate on this.

He can and will cling to you with no hesitation. Man doesn't know personal space<3

But you and most of the Strawhats don't mind it. It's sweet.

Though you do have to gently remind him sometimes that not everybody he knows likes it when he does that</3

Definitely a words of affirmation kinda guy too.

This one isn't as often but he loves making you smile.

Constantly telling you how funny you are and how much he loves you. He is a sweet baby even if he's a menace sometimes<3

Sometimes, you'll get a combo of the two. He'll wrap his arms around a multitude of times and tell you all kinds of sweet things just to see you smile.

Gift. Giving.

Please give this sweet baby gifts it will make his eyes light up like stars and he'll treasure it forever.

You could get him the silliest thing and he'll be so happy. You'll have his stretchy arms wrapped around you and multiple kisses on your face while he's yelling 'thank you' multiple times within an instant.

Zoro:

Quality time.

He's not much of a touchy guy and he's not the greatest with words.

But he actively seeks you out on the Sunny. He just wants to be by you<3

He's not great at words, so just being by you is enough for him

He will make you take naps with him<3

He likes to sit by you when he's cleaning his swords.

Please just chill with him while he trains. He likes being in your presence.

This goes both ways low-key. He knows that you love him so he doesn't need to be reminded. And as mentioned earlier, he's not really a touchy feely guy.

So just spending time with you is enough.

Bro loves you so much, he'll chill by you while you're talking to the other strawhats. He doesn't need to involved in the conversation. He'll just sit by you (he'll take a nap depending on where you are on the ship)

Maybe a small bit of gift giving?

Only if he finds it useful though probably.

Get him stuff to clean his swords with and he'll be happy.

Send him over the moon with alcohol.

But definitely quality time for the most part.

Dude just wants to be by you<3

Sanji:

Is it absurd to say that it's everything? (Because I feel like it is but thats cause I'm in love with him and delulu)

He'll match to whatever your love language is babes<3

Gift giving? He'll spoil you

Quality time? Just hang out with him in the kitchen while he cooks

Words of affirmation? He'll tell you a thousand times a day that he loves you

Acts of service? Say the word and your wish is his command.

Physical touch? He'll be all over you.

He bends over backwards for you.

And it's all super sweet. He'll cook for you, buy you some cute trinkets that you like, spend time with you while you're doing something, tell you all kinds of romantic things, and he'll hold your hand at all times

Please tell him that you love him. Reassure him for the love of god

He didn't get it a lot as a kid after Sola died so whenever you do, he really appreciates it <3 (Sanji my sad chef, my beloved I love him so much)

Nami:

Look me in the eye and tell me that her loves languages aren't gift giving and acts of service.

She'll be over the moon if you buy her stuff

Specially if it's expensive <3

Bake something for her, Sanji will help you if you ask him to!

She'll give you a bunch of kisses for it. It's her way of say thank you.

You're the only one who doesn't owe her a single berri. Cause why would she charge the love of her life?

She gets a little jealous super easily though. She'll pout at you. Just laugh at her and tell her she's cute. Kiss her cheek, forehead or tip of her nose if you want to make her melt.

Sometimes she'll indulge in physical touch, only for you though.

She'll hold your hand when strolling through a town on a new island. And then persuade you to buy something she likes by acting cute.

She's super appreciative if you do though

She'll hug you and kiss you with a big grin on her face

It makes her feel important

She likes to make you feel important too. She'll actually go out of her way to buy you stuff sometimes. She teases about an interest fee but if you actually try to pay it, it's the only time she refuses

Ussop:

Words of affirmation

My guy needs a lot of reassurance so he appreciates it

Tell him that he's brave and he'll be absolutely smitten

He also likes physical touch

He'll hold you as he tells his stories

Talk to him about the world. You both love being out on the Grandline and seeing how big the world is. It's one your 'late night can't sleep' topics.

Hangout on the deck of the Sunny and look at stars together. He'll hold your hand and point out the constellations to you. (He learned them from Robin, he just wants to impress you<3)

If you hug him from behind randomly, he'll swoon.

He'll let you stay like that too. He thinks it's sweet. He'll just casually talk to you about his day so far.

He's constantly telling you how much he loves you.

You make him feel strong and brave so of course he's going to return the favor.

Overall, Ussop is just a sweet guy. He likes holding your hand and making you smile<3

Ace:

Oh my beloved sad himbo

Please hold him and reassure him.

He's definitely a physical touch and words of affirmation kinda guy too.

Trace the freckles on his face (he'll melt in your arms with a blushing face if you call them mini constellations<3)

He likes to hold you yeah but please hold him. He needs it.

He likes to be in your embrace but he'll only let you do it when you guys aren't in sight of the crew, he's afraid that Marco and Thatch will tease him for a life time. (They wouldn't)

Pepper his face in kisses

This poor cowboy is so sad please tell him all of the things you love about him

Tell him he's worth everything in the world (Ace was the One Piece</3\hj)

Whisper sweet nothings to him as you guys try to fall asleep at night, that's when his head tries to attack him the most.

He appreciates it all and he'll definitely return the favor.

He constantly has you wrapped in his arms.

He'll kiss the top of your head and nuzzle his face into your hair.

He'll purposely act stupid just to see you laugh.

Please just make him happy. He is so sad

He will deny though.

Law:

Another quality time kinda guy

He doesn't like physical touch

Please don't openly say you love him or promise him anything, the last person who did both those things died almost immediately after (he's traumatized </3)

Just spend some time with him, that's all he asks. You don't have to say anything he just wants to he by you.

He doesn't know how to accept gifts so that's also kinda out of the question

If you do something for him though, he'll be appreciative. In his own way

Just quality time for the most part.

Just sit by him while he reads or looks over some notes he has.

He's comforted by your presence, you make him happy even if he never outwardly shows it

was advised by multiple people to do this months ago but kept putting it off. because I hate it and it makes me not feel great. but my financial situation is officially past the point of apocalyptic and I have no other choice but to do it to em. I've bitched about this on here ad nauseum but don't think I've mentioned it in a while so for those who aren't aware I moved into my current apartment about 2 years ago with my ex (like we were broken up before we moved into this place) and I had to put her on the lease as an occupant rather than an actual leaseholder because her credit score was so horrendous that they wouldn't let her sign even with me and my (at the time) perfect highly sensual credit score on there with her. I knew at the time how flaky and unreliable she could be but I sat her down and gave her the ol "Im gonna trust you on this and need you to try your best to not randomly decide to fuck me at some point" speech. this worked out reasonably well until early this year she told me she was moving in with her current boyfriend who was going to let her live with him for free while she continued paying me her half of our expenses until the lease was up in November. she shockingly held up her end of the deal here for about 2 months until she suddenly broke up with this guy and immediately moved in with someone else who was not ok with this arrangement. naturally she immediately jumped ship on me and stopped giving me anything. I've spent the last half a year or so having to tactically decide which bills to pay every month and scrambling to get money together every time my internet or electricity gets shut off or I get an eviction notice on my door. and now it's officially do or die time because I have to move in exactly one month and need to get all this shit paid up.

now that the long-winded explanation/justification is out of the way here's what we're dealing with:

and here's what I'm working with in my bank account until the 7th

on the 7th I should get a paycheck of roughly $1200-1400 (variable because I get paid on specific dates and not exactly every 2 weeks) which should help me make a dent in some of it. but also I need something left for like. food and gas and whatnot

I just woke up from a very vivid fever dream involving Tech and thought I had to capture it. So I decided to make it an X - Reader one-shot and fill in the usual Dream-gaps. If you find any mistakes, feel free to keep them, my fever is high enough to fry eggs on my ribcage, so I'm assuming some typos must have crept in. I file this under 'slightly complicated Fluff'. It might be a little silly too, after all, it was a fever dream.

Tech x Fem!Reader – One-Shot – Distractions

Warnings: Annoying Crosshair/Idiots in Love

You see Tech working on the Marauder outside, sit down near him on one of the many boxes of spare parts standing around him, and watch him for a while. He is fully concentrated, hasn't even noticed your presence yet, is completely in his element, in a focused tunnel, while he works. When you finally ask, "What are you doing?" Startled, he straightens up a little too quickly, bumps his head on the outer hull of the ship and rubs his head with a soft sigh. Tech finally turns to you and looks at you briefly, pushing his goggles up the bridge of his nose with a nimble finger. "Replace a few burnt-out parts, our last mission didn't leave the Marauder unscathed" He frowns briefly, then says before turning back to his work, "I'd appreciate it if you didn't always sneak up on me like that" You smirk and look at the back of his head, as he has turned back around when you say, "I'm not sneaking, you're just hyper-focused again" You hear him sigh softly again. As he loosens one of the charred pieces he says, "Maybe, but you could have cleared your throat" "Maybe I should put a bell on my neck," you joke amusedly. Tech comments, "That would work too, but after a while it would probably be annoying for you and those around you"

You watch him in silence for a little while, then offer, "Want me to take a look at your head?" Tech pauses for a moment and asks, "Why should you?" You roll your eyes with a smile and say, "Because it's pretty, but mostly because you hit it" He glances over his shoulder very briefly, but long enough for you to see how his cheeks have taken on a slightly rosy tint. "I'm fine," Tech waves it off, continues working, stretches out his hand and says, "Better pass me the welding blaster" You glance over the scattered tools and grab the only one that looks anything like a welding blaster. Tech doesn't complain when you pass it to him, so it must be the right one. You ask him curious questions for a while, not necessarily because you're interested in the tool, more because you want to talk to him, hoping for a conversation. You really like Tech, much more than you wanted to admit to yourself for a while. But Tech is a little... different, it's not so easy to get close to him or make small talk. For a while, he patiently answers all your questions, but from one moment to the next, his tone becomes a little more irritable.

"Do you have to ask me all these questions? I work here and would like to concentrate on my task in peace" You swallow, blink, and don't know what to say at first. Then you suddenly hear Hunter's voice next to you, "You guys all right?" "Sure," you say, forcing yourself to smile briefly and hurrying away, your heart pounding uncomfortably. It stings more than you want to admit that Tech has practically shooed you away. Some distance away, but still in sight, you sit down with your holopad on the speeder you came here with and browse aimlessly around the holonet to keep your hands busy. Tech hears Hunter sigh and turns around. When he sees that you are no longer in your seat, he frowns in surprise. He looks around and finally catches sight of you by your speeder. He blinks, thinking, he hadn't actually wanted to scare you away. Tech actually likes having you around, but you're the only person who manages to distract him, to break his concentration, which he can't handle too well. When he hears your voice, his whole mind is automatically occupied with listening to you, recognizing nuances, soaking them up like a sponge, enjoying them. However, this is a hindrance at work.

Tech senses that Hunter is looking at him and returns his gaze. The squad leader stands there, his arms crossed in front of his chest, the typical expression on his face that he always has when something interpersonal has gone over Tech's head. "You know you hurt her?" Hunter asks quietly, patiently. Tech sighs, "I do now" Hunter puts a hand on his shoulder and says, "'Brother, I'm certainly no expert, but I think she really likes you. And judging by the way you react to her sometimes, albeit often very subtly, you like her too." Tech turns the tool in his hands and watches you from a distance for a while, unsure. He shrugs and says, "Well, I was able to rule out a virus" Hunter frowns questioningly. "I don't understand" Tech explains in his typical matter-of-fact tone, "My body and mind react to her, I get warm around her, her voice throws me off balance, her laugh tingles under my skin. To be honest, at first I thought these were symptoms of illness" Hunter raises his eyebrows and suppresses a grin, then clears his throat and says, "Now I understand. Well, maybe you should go over to her. Talk to her."

Your attention is stubbornly focused on the holopad in your hand, you don't look up once, even though you sense that you are being watched. You don't look up either when you hear footsteps and finally Tech clearing his throat. When you don't respond, he says uncertainly, "I'm sorry I snapped at you" "Okay," you say calmly. Somehow Tech was expecting a different reaction, or more, because he's still standing there staring at you while you stare at your holopad, which is currently showing an advertisement for some instant meal. "Are you mad at me?" he suddenly asks, so uncertainly that you almost look up from your holopad. "No, Tech," you say a little more gently. "I don't believe you" Surprised, you look up and look at him. You look at each other in silence for what feels like an eternity. Crosshair walks past in the background and grumbles, "Kiss each other already, nobody can watch this anymore" You both look briefly in his direction, but the Sniper doesn't even stop to wait for your reaction. Tech yells after him, "That interjection was uncalled for!"

"Was it?" you ask quietly. Tech very slowly turns back to you. "Excuse me?" You blink, look at his face, and your courage leaves you again. You wave it off. "Oh, nothing." Tech sighs and sits down next to you on the speeder, his long legs reaching down to the ground, while yours are slightly bent and resting on the footboard of the speeder. After a while, you hear him say, "At the risk of embarrassing myself and making myself look vulnerable, I'd like to confess something to you" You turn your head in his direction to look at him. He swallows as he realizes he has your full attention. He finally opens his mouth and says, "I like you" You can't help but smile automatically. "How much?" you ask again, much more boldly.

Tech blinks, he hadn't expected this question. "You want a measurable comparison?" he asks, surprised. You nod with a grin. Tech slightly blushes and says, "Okay, you don't seem angry anymore, that's a good start. Let me think for a minute." "Okay. Take your time." Suddenly, his eyes light up, and you realize that he has just found a way to tell you how much he likes you. "Remember, you once asked me what the best thing about being part of this squad was?" You nod and say, "Yeah, you said the Marauders and flying it" Tech clears his throat and his cheeks turn rosy again as he says, "I like you more than the Marauders, and more than flying" You beam at him, and you know he's going to start arguing with you and yet you say, "I like you even more" Tech pauses, he smiles but then says matter-of-factly, "That's not possible" "Of course it is," you insist, amused.

You discuss back and forth for a while, comparing how much you like each other and Tech even makes calculations in the end. Crosshair, meanwhile, is standing behind you, more or less sneaking up on you and listening to you, arms crossed in front of his chest, rolling his eyes every few seconds. Tech shows you his holopad, "See, my probability calculation contradicts your assumption" You show him yours on which you have drawn a heart in a paint program and say, "And mine contradicts your calculation" Tech frowns, "That's a heart, not a-" "HEY!" Crosshair's loud exclamation makes you both jump off the speeder, startled, and Tech automatically shoves you behind him protectively. Tech snorts, "Was that really necessary?" Crosshair looks at you with his piercing gaze and says, "Didn't I tell you two to kiss?" "You're rude," you say, still recovering from your shock. "Tell me something new," Crosshair says dryly, "For example, that you kissed each other." "That's none of your business," says Tech indignantly.

"So no," the Sniper says, rolling his eyes and backing away again. You look up at Tech and say, "Maybe we really should?" He blinks several times then asks uncertainly, "Kiss?" As you nod, Tech licks his lips, wondering if he's used his lip balm today, how many hours it's been since he brushed his teeth and if he's eaten anything since then. While his thoughts are still running nervously over each other, he feels your fingers gently reach into the collar of his Blacks that sticks out of the top of his armor and pull him in your direction. Suddenly his head is completely empty, but his heart is beating incredibly fast and his pulse is racing. At the same moment his warm lips gently touch yours, somewhere in the distance you hear Crosshair shout, "GET A ROOM YOU TWO!"

He's just kinda like...wha...? He's so confused at first lol

Even if you grab his ankle and try to scare him, he's just like...why'd you do that babygirl (gender neutral term). He'd also find it kind of adorable how frustrated you get that it didn't work, but what were you expecting? He's a mafia executive babygirl (again, gender neutral term)

Chuuya is little amused by your under-the-bed habit and lowkey thinks it's pretty cute. At first though he was kinda worried as to what caused it, but if it makes you feel better then he doesn't care

If he wants you out of there he will coax you out with your favourite food or something like you're a puppy (he's getting his yearning for a pet dog out of his system don't worry)

Probably wouldn't go under the bed with you super often, but you guys would have a lot of conversations while he's laying on the bed and you're laying under it. It's surprisingly easy to do!

Would start leaving you little gifts/snacks down there sometimes as a surprise

Probably wouldn't encourage you to sleep under there though. Spinal health and all

As always Chuuya is very supportive and all he wants is for you to feel happy and safe <3

Kunikida:

Worried about this habit at first. He assumes that it's some kind of trauma response. Whether it is or it isn't he'll learn to accept it don't worry

That being said he doesn't really love it. If you wanna relax he'd rather that you do it in a more comfortable space. If you're under there because you don't feel great then he'd rather you just talk to him. He'd do (almost) anything to make you feel better :')

If you grabbed his ankle one time to scare him he might never recover. Like he'd be genuinely terrified. Might faint or burst into tears or scream or something idk

Absolutely would chide you for your "childish behaviour". In all honesty he just feels like it's something Dazai would do and he suffers enough from this kind of thing at work

But yes in the end he would forgive you if you apologised to him. Might not be so kind if you continued trying to scare him though

Leaves you a pillow and a blanket down there just in case you get cold. He won't leave any food though because he's worried about ants and mould and stuff

Wouldn't go under there with you though. Sorry but he just doesn't wanna 😪

Honestly? As long as you're getting your shit done, he doesn't mind where you spend your free time

Dazai:

He literally doesn't even question it. Sometimes small spaces are just cosy y'know?

Dazai literally lived in a shipping container (at least I think? I haven't read Stormbringer yet T-T). He'd be all up for hanging out under the bed whether or not you were with him lol

The first time you grab his ankle to scare him, if you're lucky, you'll catch him off guard. But you're never getting his ass again, ever

I mean sometimes he might play along to humour you, but you'll literally never actually scare him again. Like he just walks into your bedroom under the assumption that you're under the bed and prepared to scare him.

Straight up if he can't find you when he wakes up or something he'll just guess that you're under the bed and won't bother you.

That being said if you straight up disappeared or something he'd obviously worry about you. But he gives you space when you need it, and will only come under the bed with you if you say he can

Also he would definitely start doing it to you. Both as revenge and just because he thinks it's funny, but he'll stop if you ask him to (you don't. It straight up becomes a war)

He straight up might try to get it on with you under the bed, as if there's room or something. Damnit Dazai

m*a*s*h reaction post released from my drafts!! i don't know why i have been worried about making a Good Post when legitimately everything that could ever be said about this show has been said.

so i will SHARE MY THOUGHTS ABOUT SEASON THREE currently in progress:

top of the list: trapper my bestie has been promoted to trapper my legit fictional crush 💕

don't get me wrong, in real life i would slap his face, but i'm with hot lips on this one. the hair, the smile, every time he takes off his shirt... take me to the supply tent or lose me forever

HOWEVER, i happened to notice that he is not on the header pic on hulu* and none of you talk about him so i must regretfully conclude that he will eventually leave the show

DON'T TELL ME WHEN

anyway i am cherishing him as one cherishes an old dog not long for this world

*speaking of hulu: i have now joined the henry blake appreciation society thanks to this One Weird Trick (reupping my hulu account for a month because i lost my shit after the dvds cut out at the climax of an episode AGAIN)

i went back to rewatch the episodes that didn't play on the dvds, and turns out a lot of them were henry eps (including the trial of henry blake and the one where he is waiting for news about his new baby...) (and also the one where he fell in love with a cheerleader but you can’t win ‘em all)

just in time to appreciate that scene in "o.r." where he tells hawkeye he doesn't want to be discharged so that he can keep doing real doctoring 🥺

"o.r." had so many good character bits!! even frank got some depth?? or at least an explanation for why he's Like That...

other eps i liked:

"iron guts kelly" -- felt like a follow-up to the one last season where hot lips got wasted and broke up with frank and then hawkeye and trapper had to sober her up, which i also loved! "we hate her but she's OURS to hate" is such a good character dynamic.

also lmao every time she cheats on frank, GET YOURS GIRL 😘

the frank/margaret thing is strangely compelling actually? it's like an inverse ship for real. will-they-or-won't-they but for breaking up. same energy though, like i'm glued to the screen rooting for them to fight instead of kiss.

"check-up" i was sooooo brave you guys making peace with the situation BUT THEN TRAPPER STAYED!!! i feel like my crush has been given a stay of execution

i don't know if i ship it per se but i really hope he and margaret hook up exactly once and literally everyone regrets it

i've seen some more episodes and have more thoughts but i need to lie down a lot first

oh one more thing:

i realize "m*a*s*h actors amazing" is not breaking news, but i'm specifically obsessed right now with how they are always interacting with props. i don't even mean the o.r. tools or scripted things, but how in every scene they're doing comedy while also moving crap around, pouring things, drinking, shaving, changing clothes, handing (or THROWING) things to each other, just making a mess all the time while still hitting their lines and comic beats. it's a master class in whatever that is.

Can be navie and too quick to trust people lol so innocent...always to the scenario i would like to request the reader makes a new friend brings them to the red force to meet the red hair pirates but later on the readers so called new friends starts to become mean often saying rude/mean comments to reader when reader crew mates arnt around their(red hair pirates) in readers innocent mind dosent really think or even tell them and tries to comfort their "new friend" but things only get worse. One day the reader new friend betrayes reader(does somthing really horrible) and makes reader cry and when the red hair pirates found out they ofc take action. By the way can you make this story end happliy?

I usually write GN readers though so anyone can fit themselves into the situation ! I can write for male or female readers too !! I hope this is up to your standards !!! "Don't get yourselves hurt !!" You giggled while hugging Benn. You went to turn around to wander back onto the ship until you heard the clearing of a throat.

"Where's my hug , Reader ? You gonna leave me hangin' ?" You could recognize that voice from miles away. You turned your head , only for your gaze to be met with soft brown ones. You laughed again and embraced the red haired captain. Once you let go , he raised an eyebrow.

"Forgettin' somethin' , darling ?" He asked with a wide playful smile on his face. You rolled your eyes and scoffed , kissing his chin. The feeling of his stubble tickled your own chin , making you smile.

"Heyyy ! What about me !!" You heard from beside you. You turned your eyes to the pouting sniper next to you. "I'm sorry , Yasopp ! Didn't mean to forget you." You jumped up and wrapped your arms around his neck. He laughed at your actions and put his arms around your smaller waist , swinging you around like a little kid.

"I'm not gonna put you down until you finish !" He laughed , causing you to laugh as well. You were beginning to get dizzy , so you pressed a kiss to his cheek. Once he felt your lips against his skin , he finally dropped you. You staggered on the ground for a moment , head spinning like crazy. "Come on , Yasopp ! That was mean !" You pouted , crossing your arms and huffing.

The crew started laughing at the pout that formed on your lips. You stumbled into Roux , who had ended up behind you. You were about to turn to him , but he picked you up. "And don't forget me , Reader !" He laughed as he squeezed your smaller form. You made a noise of surprise and laughed louder. You kissed his cheek and jumped out of his arms.

"Go on , boys. If ya don't go now , you're not gonna remember what you gotta get. Have fun !!" You cheered , jumping onto the deck and waving at them. You would join them soon since you had to get some new clothes , but you wanted to go alone. Because of this , you waited for them to go ahead of you.

You weren't worried about protection. You could protect yourself , that's why you're on the crew. Shanks trusted you to watch the ship until they got back. Though , you weren't gonna stay on the ship. Your little secret.

It's been over an hour since the guys left the ship. You walked out of your quarters (after your little nap) and grabbed your weapon. You thought you'd maybe grab a drink while you were out.

You snuck off of the Red Force with your weapon attached to your hip. You skipped into the vibrant town nearby , a goofy smile on your lips. Your eyes scanned the area in an attempt to find a clothing store or a bar. You noticed a lot of stands , weapon shops , and many people walking up and down the streets.

Just as you began to lose hope , you noticed a medium sized building near a food court. The place had mannequins wearing outfits in the front window , so you assumed it was a clothing store. You smiled and walked into the store with a slight pep in your step.

"No . . No . . Aha ! " You picked up a top that matched one of the old ones you had , and you thought about grabbing it.

"That top would look cute on you !" You heard from next to you. You turned your doe eyes towards the woman standing next to you. She had beautiful , slicked back raven hair with vibrant blue eyes. She had pale skin and rosy cheeks that made her look adorable. She wore a white crop top with a heart cut on her chest. It had a turtleneck top to it and tightened underneath her breasts. She had black shorts and long , white high heels. She also had a star pin in her hair and her right arm had a tattoo sleeve on it.

You giggled and twirled with the top in your hand. "You think so ? Thank you !" You blushed , heart fluttering from the compliment. "Hey , would you want to help me find a top too ? You seem like you'd have great taste." She said kindly , smiling softly. "Of course !" You threw your arms in the air and smiled wider. She chuckled and brought you over to a section that she seemed to like.

You two ended up spending 2 hours together. She even bought you all of the outfits you picked out and you bought hers ! After shopping , you two had went to go get some food. You learned that you two shared a favorite food , which made you two laugh. You two spoke smoothly to each other. It seemed like you both had a lot in common.

She was a pirate too ! She said her crew was a secret , however. You did tell her that you were part of the Red Haired Pirates , which surprised the hell out of her. Something about her reaction to that was . . odd. She asked you to bring her to your ship , which you obliged. You guys were gonna be docked here for a few days anyways.

As you got to the ship , you were surprised by a hug from Yasopp and Shanks. They squeezed you and said incoherent things. "Guys , guys ! I can't understand you when you're crying. What happened ? Are you guys okay ??" You asked like a worried parent , eyebrows scrunching.

"We thought you went missing !!" Drunken Shanks cried , smacking your head. The two guys finally let you go as you caught your breath. "I'm fine ! I met a friend ! We got some food and we got some clothes !! Her name is Rika !" You introduced as you walked over to her.

She chuckled and waved to your crew. "I'm Rika. It's a pleasure to meet you all." Some of the more drunken guys ogled at her beauty. Some came up to her , flirted , or just asked questions. You laughed and brought your clothes to your room.

When you came back out , you noticed Benn staring at you. You walked over to him and gently poked his arm to get his attention. "What's wrong , Benn ?" You ingeniously pondered as you stared at his serious face. "Also , what did i say about smokin' ? It's unhealthy. You're gonna kill yourself." You tried to take the cigarette from his lips , but he laughed and tilted his head upwards. Sadly , not even being on your tip toes made you tall enough. You grumbled and pouted.

"Fineee. But still , tell me what's wrong." You sat on the edge of the ship and swung your legs gently. "Nothin' , sweetheart. Nothin' you should worry about , at least." He patted your head and took a puff from his cigarette.

"I know ! Why don't I go make some brownies to make you feel better ?" You cheerfully jumped off of the ledge and smiled widely. As if on cue , Shanks walked up behind you and wrapped his arm around your shoulder. "Why don't cha make some for all of us , hun ?" He slurred , drunken giggles leaving his lips.

"Oh ! Sure ! I'll make some cake too !! A party for Rika , how does that sound ?!" You asked , causing the guys to cheer loudly. Rika chuckled and walked over to you. "I'm the baker on my ship , so why don't I help you in the kitchen ? It's the least I can do to help , Reader. You're my friend , after all !" She inquired with a strange look on her pale face.

"Are you sure ? I don't want to make you work !!" You turned to her and tilted your head. "Of course ! I insist !" The ravenette enthusiastically spoke. She put her hand in yours and you led her to the kitchen.

"You put too much water into the batter." She said as she used her hips to push you away from the bowl. "Oh ! Sorry . ." You didn't think you added too much , but you've never really had outside opinions. You believed her. She said she was a baker , after all.

As you wandered around the kitchen , Rika often bumped into you. Sometimes , you'd fall over or hit your hips on the counters. You thought she was either messing around or making mistakes , so you didn't mention it.

"Oh my god , how can you fuck up brownies that badly ? Just let me do it." She huffed , shoving you away from the rest of the batter. You fell into the counter and groaned. "I'm sorry , I didn't mean to. I don't wanna make you do it , please let me help." You pleaded with her , putting your smaller hands on her tattooed arm.

In response , her face turned into one of anger as she pushed you off of her. "Do NOT touch me !" She snided as she mixed the batter together. "Oh ! I'm sorry." You looked sadly at her , making her scoff. "Don't look at me like you're the victim. You just assaulted me ! I don't see why someone like Shanks keeps someone like YOU around."

At her words , you teared up and sniffled. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Is there any way I can make it up to you ?" You inquired , dejected. Your cheeks turned rosy from the face you were trying to hold back your tears.

"You can make it up to me by leaving the crew. They don't need you. You're such a nuisance , GOD. I bet they have you on here out of pity. Or maybe to use you as a scapegoat. You saw how they acted with me. They clearly like me better , and they've only known me for a few hours !" She raged , shoving you into the cabinet. As she spoke , she had slowly gotten closer and closer to you until you were against the wooden cabinet.

"But I -" You attempted to speak , but your throat burned. "You can't even take criticism from a friend. How sad. You're a pirate , act like it." She released you from the cabinet as she put the pans of cake and brownies into the oven.

You sat on the island counter in the middle of the room and twiddled your fingers. "Uhm . . I can watch them from here if you want to go back out to the party." You noticed the faint smell of alcohol on her clothes , so you assumed she was drunk. Maybe she'd apologize in the morning. "Good. Don't fuck it up , sweetheart." She said smoothly , clearly mocking the nickname thay the crew gave you. As she strutted out of the room , you couldn't help but think . . . Did they like her better ? Were they gonna throw you out ? Maybe they told her that. Maybe they're gonna throw you out in the morning.

You didn't realize that you started crying until a sniffling sound made its way to your ears. You used a paper towel to rub your eyes of the tears that threatened to fall. You smiled and stayed in the kitchen until the goods were done.

Now , the crew was sitting around the deck , eating the treats you and Rika made. You walked over to the ravenette. You tapped her shoulder and watched as she quickly turned around and glared at you. "Yes ?" She harshly spoke , finishing her piece of cake.

"I'm sorry for making you upset earlier. I went into town and bought you a necklace since I remember you saying that you thought it was cute." You pulled the gift out of your pocket and handed it over to her. She nimbly pulled it out of your hand and examined it. She smiled and put it around her thin neck. "Thank you , Reader. I accept your apology." She smiled again. To anyone that wasn't her , it was seen to be fake. But someone else noticed. A certain gray haired , cigarette smoking man caught on. His eyes slowly followed her as she walked to speak to the others on the ship.

It was now nighttime. Many crew members were passed out on the deck , and those who were able had made their way to their quarters for the night. You had brought Rika to your room and let her sleep in your bed. Instead of giving you some blankets , you slept on the cold wooden floor. You didn't mind , at all. What you found weird was how she kicked you out. Instead of being on the floor in your room , you slept in the kitchen.

In the morning , you were awoken by someone shaking you. "What are you doing in here , Reader ?" You heard someone ask. You opened your eyes and blinked , taking in your surroundings. You attached the voice to the appearance of the guy in front of you. It was Lucky Roux. You had assumed that he came to make breakfast for the crew.

"Oh , good morning , Roux. I'm sorry if I'm in your way." You lazily sat up and rubbed your eyes. You yawned and stretched your limbs until you heard the satisfying pop of your joints. "You're not in my way. I'm just wonderin' why you're in here. Why aren't ya in your quarters ?" He asked , the sizzling of pans feeling your ears.

You smiled softly and yawned again. "I let Rika take my bed. I didn't want to make her uncomfortable , so I slept in here." Speak of the devil and she shall appear. The ravenette walked into the room and smiled softly.

"Good mornin' , you two." She waved and sat next to you. "I'm guessin' you're the cook ?" Tika pondered aloud. "Yep ! The name's Lucky Roux." His smile widened , but he didn't turn to her. Strange. He seemed to be iffy about her , but neither of you noticed.

The door opened again and you felt someone put their arms on your waist. You knew who it was when you smelled smoke and feint cologne. "Good mornin' , Beck !" You said happily , kissing his chin.

"Good mornin' , darlin'." He replied , putting his head against yours. Unbeknownst to you , sharp blue eyes lingered on the both of you. Those eyes burned holes in your head , jealousy bubbling in her heart.

"I'm almost done with breakfast. Can you three go wake up the rest of the crew ?" Roux asked , not turning his head as to not get distracted from his job. "Sure !" You answered , gently detaching Benn from your body. You jumped off the counter and led the other 2 outside.

After waking everyone up and eating , you found yourself in the shower room with Rika. You had gotten undressed and in the bath while she took a shower.

"You know , your body is really . . Not interesting." She commented slyly as she washed her slick hair. You looked over at her and tilted your head. "What do you mean ?" You asked while you played with the bubbled in your warm bath.

"You got the attention of the entire crew looking like . . That. You must've done something. What did you do ? Are you some kind of witch ? I wouldn't doubt it , considering you look like one." She answered her own question while not even looking at you. Her words shot you through the heart. You were already pretty insecure and you thought you were getting better.

Even after the shower , her words replayed in your head. Did all of them think that ? Your thoughts were interrupted when you were tripped. "Oops ! Are you okay , Reader ?" Rika sarcastically asked , suppressing a laugh behind her hand.

"Yeah ! I'm fine !" You stood up and brushed your bottom half off. "Everyone makes mistakes !" You smiled and bowed your head gently. "You would know a lot about that , considering your parents made you." This time , she couldn't suppress her laugh. She walked off , swaying her hips as she entered the main area.

You stood there for a minute. Was she okay ? Did you upset her ? Maybe you should get her another gift.

You had decided to take a walk in the town. You wanted to clear your mind and get Rika a gift to see if she'd forgive you. You know , after kissing and hugging the entire crew.

When on the way back , you wandered around the ship in an attempt to find her. You smiled when you finally found her. You were about to show her the gift , until you heard her voice.

"They don't suspect a thing. That stupid little pirate's bounty will be ours , captain. I can't believe you made me befriend them , though." She leaned against your wall and scoffed. "They're extremely annoying. I can't stand their voice ! Anytime I hear it , I want to rip my hair out." She ranted as she slammed her fist on the wall.

Your vision was clouded by hot tears. You continued listening , even though you knew it was wrong. "I just need to get them out of here. Their face pisses me off. If I don't get this done soon , I'm gonna end up beating them silly. God , I hate this. Why couldn't you put Killeen up to this ?" You didn't know who she was talking to , since you couldn't hear the other end. Though , her words were enough to send you over the edge.

You walked into the bathroom and locked the door. You fell to the ground and began sobbing. You had a problem in the past with insecurities. The Red Haired Pirates had helped you , and you thought you were past it. Her words , oh her words. They tore down any progress you thought you made.

You didn't know how long you were in there until you heard a knock on the door. You hadn't realized you were sobbing until you saw your face in the mirror. You quickly wiped your face and sniffled. "Yes ?" You croaked out , throat burning.

"Are you okay ?" It was Benn. He knew. You didn't know how , but he knew. You unlocked the door and just fell into his arms. You sobbed into his chest and gripped his shirt. He didn't say anything. Instead , he held you and patted your back. He rested his head on yours and rubbed your back. He let you cry for as long as you needed.

The smell of smoke lingering on his clothes , along with his gentle touch calmed you slightly. You finally managed to stop crying and you looked up at him. "Am I really -" "No. You're special to us , Reader. We already took care of Rika. Turns out she was a bounty hunter. Don't let people like her tear you down." You sniffled at his words and pulled away. He gently pushed you towards the kitchen , where you met Shanks , Yasopp , and Lucky Roux. Oh ! And Hongo.

Shanks walked up to you and pulled you in with his arm. "It's okay , Reader. You're so , so special to us. You're a Red Haired Pirate , yeah ? I wouldn't have you here if you weren't just the way you are." He smiled and laughed loudly.

You started laughing too , along with the others in the room. "Yeah , Reader. We love ya !" Yasopp chimed in , ruffling your hair. You continued laughing and hugged all of them.

"Thank you , guys." You teared up again , causing them to panic. "Woah , woah , sunshine ! We didn't mean to make ya cry !" Shanks panicked , hugging you again. "Yeah !" Hongo hugged you as well.

"It's not bad. I'm just . . So , so happy to be part of this crew." You sniffled and pulled away from them. "What happened to Rika ?"

As soon as you mentioned the woman , the men looked away and whisled. Shanks looked down at his wrist and put his arm behind his head. "Wellll ! Would ya look at the time ! It's time for us to check out the bar in town !" He changed the topic , marching out of the kitchen.

"Shanks !!" You giggled and ran after him. Any feeling you had disappeared. You didn't know why you doubted them. You knew deep down that you were wrong. You were loved and had as special place to the Red Haired Pirates

I feel sentimental I'm sorry but–

You don't know how happy these stupid guys make me, I don't know why, simply seeing them causes me immense joy in any circumstance, in any medium, they make me smile at my worst moment.

It's funny because when I read Hell Park for the first time I completely ignored them, and my favorite character was Tweek (which is why he is the protagonist of my AU Coven Park), but for some reason when I read Hell Park again, their dynamic caught my attention and I loved them.

Gregory and Estella inspired me immensely, even daring to make my own AU just because of them, what for me was a way to avoid problems and harassment became something ambitious that I am currently working on and trying to give my all.

and not only that, they also inspired me to create my ocs and an equally ambitious story that I have in mind, in case anyone was wondering, these are the ocs that I mainly based on Gregory and Estella to create them lol

And all that thanks to two stupid characters from a canceled South Park AU, honestly, I don't know how I would be if I hadn't met them, it's impossible for me to imagine knowing that they have influenced my life from the end of 2021 until today, this was one of my first drawings 🥲

I know that the issue of the Gregstella ship is somewhat dense, although I don't classify it as "problematic" because I consider that it doesn't even reach that sick level that they want to label it so much. And I know that I am perhaps the most directly responsible for having popularized the ship, and I apologize for that, it was not my intention to attract weird people, because yes, I have seen that quite questionable people have come to like the ship, or at least less so on this side of the pond, but I refrain from interacting with them because I simply don't want to and I have seen very unpleasant things coming from those people.

I would be lying if I said that I no longer like hp gregstella, I think it is something inevitable, even knowing that it is wrong, it is something that I cannot help, but nevertheless, I no longer urge people to ship them, but I also do not harass those who they do it. I think people can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't cross the boundaries of what is considered healthy. So yeah, I still kinda like hp gregstella, but I doubt I'll make content of them in the future, maybe I never will (and I never actually did, other than edits), maybe I'll start drawing them again more frequently since the annoying comments stopped, but I will never make hp gregstella content, but if I do one day, at least you will see it coming i guess 🤧

To the point I no longer care what people think of me, nor do I care to be in the Hell Park fandom, but I am aware that a large part of the fandom likes my art and inevitably I am part of it, so it also makes me happy that people appreciate my drawings despite everything, I love you, especially to the gregstella shippers who follow me and who I talk to (who are mostly lesbians just like me, a little ironic lol) 😭💕

I just want to do what makes me happy, and if people are bothered by what makes me happy, you can just block me, no hard feelings. I will continue drawing my silly couple, because it is the closest thing I will experience to love, being aromantic, I like to write couples with interesting dynamics, but being part of one? No thank you 😦

Opinion on DragonSlayer?

Ah, Dragonslayer. Definitely has one of the better ship names in the RWBY fandom. Also I'm just going to you DS from now on because I'm tired.

Values and personality wise, I think they work well together. With Yang pushing Jaune out of his comfort zone, and being there for him when he falls down. And Jaune being there for Yang when she's feeling vulnerable and needs some support. They both have a way of keeping each other going in tough times. They're both very family oriented. Plus they can probably bond over being an older sibling, and maybe having some parental troubles depending on how you write the Arcs.

And yeah, the comparisons between Jaune and Taiyang are obvious.

Though personally I break DS down into two eras. Beacon era DS and post Beacon DS.

During their time at Beacon, I don't really see them getting together. I can absolutely see Jaune having a thing for Yang. You could even convince me that Yang has feelings for him as well, but I still don't really think she would. And even if she did I don't see her really perusing that relationship.

Mostly because I don't really think Yang would be perusing a romantic relationship during their first year at Beacon. She's looking for Raven. Trying to balance getting a bit a freedom and still taking care of Ruby while still giving her enough space to grow on her own a little bit. Not to mention just making sure Ruby doesn't get herself hurt. While also making sure Blake doesn't run off and do anything crazy again.

You don't have much time for relationships when your the team mom.

And if she was going to get into a romantic relationship, it would be with someone like Sun, Blake, Ren, or Pyrrha. Simply because Jaune hasn't really had a chance to show off the traits that would make them work well together to her, and she wouldn't value those traits as much as she would later on. She would just views Jaune as Ruby's friend and the guy who threw up on her boots.

But that doesn't mean that it can't happen, but you would need to force them together often and in ways where Jaune could show those positive traits of his. I've read fics that have done that. Or you could do an AU where they're partners, childhood friends, etc.

Now post fall DS is where it's at.

They've both had opportunities to mature over V4 and 5. Yang would certainly appreciate Jaune keeping Ruby safe when she couldn't. And I think would start to see more of Jaune's good traits, while certainly relating to a few of his problems in those volumes. Certainly the anger and charging in problems.

So I think that spark would be lit there, probably soon after they deal with all the Haven stuff. With some awkward flirting before they get to Argus. Once Jaune gets a little bit of closure with Pyrrha, then I'd think they would have a talk and try to figure something out there. With Saphron listening in of course.

So yeah.

DS has a lot to like about it. Jaune and Yang work well together and are both very family focused. While also having a good few areas of contrast to not make it feel like it's two versions of the same character dating. It just needs a little time to mature to really reach to peak of it's potential.

7/10 at Beacon.

9/10 after Beacon.

i think what's so annoying about au-ification in fic is that it feels like a fundamental disconnect in how people define a character and Who They Are, and in some fandoms it's more normal to strip away everything that has ever happened to the character, particularly their traumas. i don't even Go Here wrt to spn, (and when i do, it's for wincest lol), but even i know that the whole Thing is that castiel gripped dean tight and raised him from perdition - the power dynamic and the salvation are THE WHOLE THING

yeah i'm getting a lot of notes on that post from people who have clearly never had the experience of reading an au fic an it's just. that's a different person. he seems nice but i have no idea who this man is. there is no conversation with the canon happening here. this is not a "galaxy quest is about star trek" situation. this is a "you are trying to tell me that 50 first dates is about lord of the rings" situation. this is a "if you hadn't told me in the tags i would have no idea this had any relation to the original work at all whatsoever and i'm still not convinced" situation.

i mean i am fanfic positive (obviously) and au positive (obviously) but i think if you see a character and you think to yourself, "wow, i love this guy! he's awful! he's like if someone made a gijinka of the concept of toxic masculinity and that's fascinating! i want to read fic about this guy!" and then you go to ao3 and you sort by kudos and the most popular fic is a 100 chapter beast that's like "what if he had no toxic masculinity at all and handled his trauma by being a perfect victim" that kind of sucks. it's not just that the author could have just changed his name and made it an original work. it's also that the reader has been sold a false bill of goods. "getting people to read fanfic is easier" is actually rude as fuck if what you're writing is fundamentally a different work about an original character. i appreciate authors who recognize this and publish original works with suspicious similarities to popular ships, good for them and also for the rest of us.

Hey, I saw your recent posts on twitter, and I just wanted to thank you so much for taking the time to share these scripts with the fandom. I am sorry you have to deal with losers saying awful things about you. Nobody deserves that. Obviously I would be very sad if you stopped posting even the Daemyra scenes, but I definitely wouldn’t blame you. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the time and effort you put into this is appreciated 💜

i normally don't reply to these messages. not because i don't appreciate them — because i do — but because i don't feel the need to publicize praise for me.

but this has been an incredibly difficult and exhausting week for me personally (from a work front, a personal health front, a personal life front). thank you for this and thanks everyone for the kind words you guys send, it doesn't go unnoticed.

i don't think some people really consider that i am a real person who doesn't like to be insulted. this shouldn't be surprising because i don't think anyone looks forward to insults when they wake up in the morning. i don't like seeing my tweets screenshot and criticized by people who don't know me at all, i don't like people attacking me and my friends for having fun. i don't subscribe to the mentality of, "you decided to post these, so surely you knew you would get the attention." that kind of thought process is the same as, "she dressed that way, so she deserves it." i don't think i deserve harassment for simply liking things. i

personally, i would not attack someone for what they enjoy and i have simply been blocking people and moving on. but this sort of behavior is reaching a threshold for me. for my mental health, if i keep waking up to more people calling me names or saying i'm subhuman for liking what i like (yes, i have rpf ships, if that bothers you, keep it to yourself or move on) i will simply unschedule everything. i know i said before i would always post daemyra stuff, but quite frankly there are some daemyras who are as bad as the other antis.

if that happens, i will be fine with posting all the screenshots of the people who led me to make the decision. they clearly have no regard for respecting me...

i had planned on going to the library again just to pull some more stuff for people who have been asking so politely (especially since i realized that i didn't have anything re: rhaenys), but i'm deciding to just keep that time for myself since it is a big pain in the ass.

edit: i also don't care if there are anti-daemyras looking at my posts. that actually doesn't bother me and i see those comments all the time. personal attacks, however? those are not tolerated.

Like- I ship Luffy with more people but imo he only feels sexually attracted to Zoro. Something something 'the bond between a captain and his first mate'. Romantic attraction: I can see him being demi-romantic (once again only romantic with Zoro. Or Sanji, even) but I personally see their relationship very Aroaspec QPR. I made an MC for WHB. Her name's Emma and I mostly ship her with Minhyeok (Mammon and Valefor too sometimes). She's also got an on-and-off type of situationships with most of the devils

Random fun facts about Emma

She loves baking sweets and she's really good at it. However she can't cook actual meals that aren't sweet desserts. Her attempts led to some radioactive biohazardous concoctions. There's a reason why Minhyeok mostly does the cooking. (with MC being Solomon's descendant in WHB I made a silly reference to another Solomon from another game lmao if you know you know)

Some of her baked sweets (made a few days before that incident with Gabriel) are still in the refrigerator. When Minhyeok misses her, he eats some, and he shares them when Ppyong visits. It got real depressing when Minhyeok eventually ran out of them.

Emma is extremely careful with her online shenanigans. She's always on incognito mode and has a VPN turned on when watching pr0n.

Minhyeok eventually caught her and it was so awkward for the both of them. Emma genuinely thought he wouldn't love her anymore, however Minhyeok's feelings for her never changed. She broke her own heart from assuming the worst. Neither of them speak about this incident since it happened.

While Emma's in hell, her only communication with Minhyeok is through Ppyong and she would write him letters that Ppyong delivers.

Relationships

Minhyeok - Emma loves him the most. She had a crush on him for years while they were living together. Minhyeok felt the same for her the whole time but neither of them knew. She misses him everyday and is always asking Ppyong how he's doing.

Satan - Emma was initially scared of him but has grown to love him and she genuinely appreciates how protective he is with her but sometimes she gets annoyed with his attitude and temper. They got that "screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain" type of dynamic

Sitri - At first he got her heartbeat skipping down 16th avenue, however calling her "Solomon" one too many times made Emma feel like he's not being serious with her. She remains friendly with him but never returns his affection. She's willing to forgive him if he finally gets her name right.

Leraye and Paimon - Emma is best buddies with them. When they hang out together they kinda share one braincell lol.

Mammon - She was enchanted to meet him. The way Mammon groped her butt made her feel some type of way. Emma fell in love with him, even more after he banged her. She finds it funny and ironic how Mammon's like "You're my master now. I'm yours, Emma" and then he just rails her like he owns her. Mammon is her favorite devil. 10/10 would smash again 💛

Bimet - His attitude kinda annoyed her at first and even more after he changed when she slept with Mammon but they're on friendly terms. She occasionally trolls him by giving him bad financial advise.

I want to know, if you don't mind and if you feel comfortable, your honest opinion, from the bottom of your heart, why you choose zutara over kataang. I'm really curious to know an adult's perspective about this ship.

Hi,

Thanks for asking this. Hopefully, it's with genuine curiosity and not a means to find things to argue with or attack me over.... anyway... I've been thinking about this a little bit, and the answer is two-fold.

The short answer is that I pick Zutara over Kataang because I don't like Aang very much, and I do like Zuko; I think the characterization of both just lends itself more to an appreciation of Zuko and his redemption arc over Aang's hero struggle.

The long answer is a summation of the following:

Aang's a child in the series, not yet even a teenager, and I think we can all agree that he often displays his lack of maturity throughout the series in several places. Now, this isn't necessarily a fair argument to bring to the table, given that he would undoubtedly mature as he grew (we assume) and did some growing up, even during the series. That said, his age - his being younger than Katara, is another reason I prefer Zutara, because most of the time - at least when I'm writing them - the gaang are either in their mid-late teens or early twenties, and I think at those ages, most girls don't want to date someone younger than them. Partially, it's social conditioning, but developmentally, boys tend to be two years behind girls in regard to maturity, etc., so it's a big factor.

We see throughout the series that Katara goes for guys that are... shall we say, more "manly" than Aang? Jet is a sexy schmooze with mixed-up ideals, but he's older than her and well-fit. Haru is buff as hell and kind of adorable (before the mustache makes its debut, anyway). In that regard, Zuko is much more Katara's 'type' than a scrawny, short, skinny bald kid with arrows tattooed all over him. Also, I mean, she seems to prefer men with great hair, and Aang just doesn't fit the bill.

Aang is the Avatar and, by merit of being so, needs to put his connection to the spirits world, his responsibility to the physical world, and his role as an avatar before everything else, including worldly attachments. We see this throughout the series, wherein his unwillingness to let go of his attachment to Katara inhibits his chakra pathways and blocks him from entering the avatar state. We also see him finally choosing his responsibility over his love for Katara, and while that's the right thing to do for the sake of the world, I just think Katara deserves more than that. It's the embodiment of the uptick in a preference for falling for the morally grey villain over the hero because the hero will sacrifice you for the good of the world, while the morally grey villain will let the world burn as long as you're safe.

Now, you could argue that the above isn't fair because Zuko has responsibilities, too, in that he needs to take on the role of Fire Lord, but I think there's more room for love/romance/attachment in that role than there is in Aang's role.

Zuko is so much more interesting than Aang; I don't know how else to put it. He's got the tragic back-story, the anger issues, the redemption arc, that morally-grey-what-can-I-say-grey's-my-favourite-colour vibe about him, and he's just so much cooler and more mature. Like, yes, he has his moments of childishness and temper tantrums - as does Katara - but he's matured far beyond what we witness of Aang and it makes him a more likable character. An example of what I mean is probably best illustrated in the Southern Raiders chapter. Aang tries to impose his own ideals and morality on Katara when she's burning for revenge, which, while he's trying to encourage her to do the right thing, doesn't really suggest that he's supportive of her feelings. I found him quite dismissive in that chapter with his insistence that she just forgave the man who killed her mother without any attempt at growth or chance for closure. Meanwhile, Zuko just grabs his gear and goes with her to make sure she'll be safe and to support her in whatever decision she chooses to make. Yes, it might've meant that he would be an accessory to murder, but at least he was supportive. Also, his reaction to learning Katara can blood-bend - an insanely frightening ability when you really stop and think about it - is alarmed but then accepting, and it's just so much more palatable than the lecture I imagine she'd get from Aang if he learned she'd used the ability for harm and revenge.

There's too much of a brother-sister vibe between Aang and Katara - at least when it's shown from Katara's perspective - and it wigs me out that the writers put them together in the end. Throughout the series, Katara treats Aang much the same way she treats Sokka, often mothering him as opposed to seeming romantically inclined towards him. Whereas with Zuko through the entire series, there's the ongoing thread of parallels between their characters and the underlying unresolved sexual tension between them - put there intentionally BY THE WRITERS, I might add. Like throughout the series, we were SUPPOSED to be shipping Zuko and Katara; the intention was to have them end up together. It's only the last-minute switch of writers and/or change of heart to fulfill the "hero gets the girl" trope that made Kataang canon, and I just think it's a disservice to the characters, the fans, and the series in general, to backflip like that at the last minute for a lame reason.

I could probably go on - and have before, in GCs and sometimes on Tumblr, about the many reasons they're just better suited to one another, but you're probably bored by now, so I'll stop here. Hopefully, the above gives you something to think about and a better understanding of the reasons so many ship the two of them. If nothing else, it's got me thinking about my Zutara fics and maybe even planning an update.
