The funniest thing to me is how when I had a Fullmetal Alchemist phase nine years ago my main focused favorite character was Edward Elric (and Envy but that’s another thing entirely.) 

Like I slept on Al Elric so hard. SO hard.

You have an innocent little kid that wakes up in an object used solely for combat with no ability to sleep or eat for years. Like he has to stay awake through all of the nights all alone left to his thoughts. 

And then he starts even doubting if he’s real??? Hello. If I get around to rewatching the show THAT is going to be my blorbo right there officer it’s him

one thing about nikita is that the writers so clearly considered *her* the coolest, most amazing, outstanding, complex, and interesting character in their story. she took loses, she had flaws, blah blah, all that shit that make a well-rounded character, but NO ONE ever upstagged her. it's why she's such an amazing lead, you can feel how much PASSION and FUN and PATHOS goes into her writing. the problem with a lot of others female leads is how often someone else (a male character) overthrones her in the writers' hearts, but with nikita this was never a risk, not for a second.

I like that Maxwell includes his adhd in the character of MJF, for his background but also for his reasoning, cause for so long has the ugly side of my neurodivergence make me relate to the insecure selfish choices of heels. I always felt stupid though for reading characters through such a lense, “its not that deep” etc etc, and now we have someone who openly talks about how fucked up RSD can make you feel.

“but isn’t that bad rep? / Are you using your disability to excuse shitty behaviour??” – Knowing that you aren’t alone with these negative symptoms can be so relieving. I’m all for more people knowing about the kinda shit we go through in our heads, also understanding bad behaviour doesn’t mean condoning.
