I love the paintball scene in the show, I really do. But I need to speak my truth and that is:

This scene is SO much funnier in book-verse. For real. If you haven't read it, this is one scene I wish they'd kept more of in the show.

These two idiots think they've legitimately been shot and that they are actively in the process of dying in a way that only beings that have never actually been discorporated would.

They spend literally several minutes ON THE GROUND, Crowley propped against a statue and Aziraphale literally falls on his ass into a Rhododendron bush.

Not until Crowley realizes their 'blood' is not the right color and tastes it(because of course that's what one does when they think they're bleeding out) does he consider there may be something else going on. And after which he still CRAWLS over to share this newly discovered information with Bushziraphale.

What kills me about TEG is that Lockwood has CLEARLY reached some kind of conclusion about his feelings for Lucy and just kind of ASSUMES that they're on the same page because he would rather die than admit to ever having a single feeling. Meanwhile Lucy is like, "We spend a lot of time together and Lockwood literally gazes at me all the time, and we have this newfound intimacy in our relationship... but that probably doesn't mean anything, right?" and proceeds to act as though she is still pining from afar.

Like I feel like Lockwood gets a lot of flack (as he should) for appearing emotionally unavailable, but honestly in the last two books, that is mostly in Lucy's head and she spends a lot of time feeling a feeling about Lockwood, and immediately sprinting in the other direction away from it.

They're both such disasters. I love them.

Thinking about swordsman who know they're going to lose control of themselves, be put under illusions/experience hallucinations, or be under the control of someone else.

Thinking about that split second between knowing what's going to happen and it happening. The understanding that there's a good chance they're going to hurt people, probably someone they really care about.

Thinking about swordsman who break their own fingers or wrists because they know how dangerous they are, how much damage they could do. They know that even if they're not stopped by the pain, broken fingers can't grip a sword right and broken wrists won't support the weight of one well.

They can only hope that it gives the people around them a better chance of taking them down.
