#spn #vid #mind the warnings on this one for real #woe! fruit of my rewatch be upon ye. #pallas calls this my 'deangirl coming out vid' which honestly. true. but those who paid attention know i've always been a deangirl. #also. after this no more deanwinchester rilo kiley amvs I Pwomise #anyway. i'm not gonna give a full commentary here but a big reason why i chose this song is that the narrator #is essentially dismissing her own problems and instead watching the problems of someone else #and i kind of wanted to play with that theme. this is the parallels show so let's do some parallels. lots of things happen to characters #that are Like Dean somehow. either in personality or circumstance. that we know or can infer happen to him. but we don't see it bc it's #not sayable. not speakable. so like for an easy one. we see meg being tortured in caged heat. she also talks about apprenticing under #alastair just like dean. so i show her being tortured [in a way that is sexualized and demon-specific] and reacting how she does #because i invite the audience to imagine or interpret that this has also happened to dean at some point. we just don't see it #so there are many dean parallels in this video. some obvious. some subtle but textual. some products of my twisted mind. but that's the way #i am using them to make my argument. #oh also: dean voice sam's eyes going black is JUST like when he used to fight with dad and wouldn't listen to me when i told him not to. #i guess also the point is that because it's unsayable. dean can't say it. dean can't even acknowledge it. and so it bleeds through #into everything in his life #that's why it's important that the song narrator doesn't take her own problems seriously. dean doesn't either.

okay, but where's my steddie AU where steve wants to learn to play guitar to impress a girl he's infatuated with and he remembers that munson kid was always hanging up posters for his weird band at school, so he hikes out to eddie's usual dealing spot behind the track and asks (with far less groveling than he really should have) if eddie will teach him how to play, and obviously eddie says no because why would he want to help king steve, but of course, steve offers to pay him, $20 a week, and well, that's the kind of get-the-hell-out-of-this-shithole-town cash eddie really can't afford to refuse, so fine, he'll teach steve to play and they'll spend inordinate amounts of time together tucked away in eddie's room and they'll start to see that they have more in common than they thought and that they kind of had each other all wrong, and eddie will put his hand over steve's to help him get the placement for a tricky chord and it totally won't awaken anything in either of them?? where is it??

Genuinely really loving the tendency of official Doctor Who stuff to now refer to the Doctor in general with they/them pronouns

#Doctor Who #New Who #The Doctor #I am talking #I feel like the Doctor in the show just lets people assume whatever pronouns and gender #because people are going to make assumptions and whatever anyways #and going along with people's weird assumptions until there's a reason not to is generally the Doctor's MO #see: anytime someone is like 'are you here for XYZ reason?' and the Doctor's just like 'yes absolutely' #but I feel like if the Doctor had a reason to care about the nuances of human gender conventions in the 21st century #they would like they/them pronouns #also I think it's neat that Time Lords who do have an actual experience of gender #like the master #seem to use whatever pronoun applied at the time in question when speaking in past tense in English #rather than the human convention of using the current pronoun even when speaking retroactively #it's just an interesting distinction #and then that makes me think about translation stuff and how concepts about gender may not even apply in Gallifreyan #but this is getting too long for me just rambling in the tags

Don't tell them exactly what's happening!! Don't tell them the important names!! Send asks and such but actually think through, how would a normal person respond to all this? How would a normal Tumblrina respond? The answer is YOU PROBABLY WOULD NOT FIND FUCKING EVERYTHING OUT IMMEDIATELY. The answer would probably be memes and clowning on things! If you wanna allude to things that will happen in the plot, ALLUDE to them. If you know that someone's gonna burn to death, say you hope the stress doesn't cause them to burn out. Please, my Tumblrinas, learn the art of subtlety in writing. You are not the main character in fictional universe blogs. It's okay.

idc what anyone says when a kid reveals an interest to me that i have any knowledge of at all, i act like i love that fuckin thing, like i’ve never loved anything more even if i hate that thing and maybe that’s dishonest of me but the point isn’t to fake interest it’s to model exuberance and joy for the things ur into. i want to give kids permission to be their authentic selves and to show them that it feels good to show your love of something, and that people will still like them—hell, maybe even like them more—if they just embrace who they are and what they like. that even adults like the things they like, and there’s nothing cringey or wrong about it. idk. i just feel like this is so important, for teenagers especially. they’re starting to be who they are and most of the time they’re scared of it and don’t know how to just Be and if there’s anything i’m good at, it’s Being, and i want to show them the joy of what it means to Be and to be so comfortable in ur identity that u genuinely don’t care if others mock u bc the Joy of Being is so complete.
