It was very clear that Asgore had run all the way to your workplace. The former king was huffing and puffing as he hurried into the lobby. “Is Y/N here?” he panted at the receptionist. “I got a call…”

“Just in there, sir,” the receptionist said, pointing at your boss’s office. “Don’t worry. It’s not too bad. Company policy is just that if anybody gets injured on the job, they’re not allowed to drive themselves home.”

Asgore nodded. “I can take them home,” he said, although part of him was already wondering if he would fit in your car to drive it home. Most of his mind was occupied with worrying about you, though. He hurried around the desk as soon as the receptionist stepped aside.

You smiled sheepishly at him as he very carefully did not burst into your boss’s office. “Hey,” you said, waving your free hand. The other hand was holding an ice pack to your head. “Thanks so much for coming to get me.”

“It is my duty,” Asgore said, equally sheepish (goatish?) “I am your datemate…Are you badly hurt?”

“Nah,” you said, even as your boss said, “We were pretty worried about them.” You glared.

“What happened?” Asgore asked, moving to your side. He could see a lump on your head under the ice pack.

You tried to laugh it off. “I forgot that they put a shelf over my desk and stood up without thinking,” you said. “Bonk!”

“We’re pretty sure they don’t have a concussion,” your boss said, “but it was bad enough that we decided to send them home. I suggested they go to the doctor, but they said they didn’t want to.”

“It’s not that bad,” you insisted. “Can I go now?”

Your boss sighed. “Yes, go on then.”

You stood up and then swayed in place. “Whoops,” you said. “That might’ve been a mistake…”

Asgore steadied you and then carefully picked you up. “I think we will stop and see Doctor Alphys on our way home,” he said. He carried you out of the building (earning you a very interesting look from the receptionist on the way) and over to your car.

“I don’t think you’re going to fit,” you said.

“And you should not drive.” Asgore frowned. “I will call Undyne to come get us both. Do you want to sit in the car while you wait?”

You almost shook your head, but it was starting to throb, so you just laid it against his shoulder instead. “I want to stay with you,” you said. “Can you just hold me?”

“I would be happy to,” he said, “but that means you will have to call Undyne.”

“Okay.” You fished around and found your phone. Undyne’s enthusiastic answer made your headache worse, but she said she’d be there in a few minutes. You shoved your phone back in your pocket and closed your eyes, enjoying the feeling of Asgore’s warm arms around you, and the way his chest went up and down…

“Please do not fall asleep,” Asgore said, brushing your cheek with a finger. “It is not good to fall asleep if you have a head injury. Stay awake until we can get to Alphys.”

“Okay…” You forced your eyes to stay open. “Can I nap with you later? You’re comfy.”

“I will happily take a nap with you later,” he said, “if you will promise me to be more careful in the future.”

“Promise…”
