I've never read IT in it's entirety, only the first few chapters. But hearing how Mike as a character and his significance to the plot compared to the movies makes me upset. Cuz' all the other kids have important roles and screen time and their fears are explored and Mike....isn't. They gave his role as the group nerd and historian to Ben. They killed off his parents, especially his father who is apparently an important part of his life in the book, the bigotry and racism he faces never get explored much compared to the other kids, and he's barely even there. Then they gave him his historian role back in the second film and its jarring because where was that in the first film??? Never mind the fact that he's already overlooked by the fandom in favor of their oh so precious little white gays that are constantly talked about over anything else in the franchise. I understand you can only do so much in the span of two or so hours, but They could've done a little more with him. Sorry rant over.

Choosing my favorite pokemon is so hard because I have so many different categories of favorite
Favorite because it resembles my favorite animal: Relicanth
Favorite because it was my first starter, ever: Bulbasaur
Favorite starter overall: Popplio
Favorite because it carried me through a game: Magnezone (moon, scarlet), Chandelure (sword), Kingler (PokeGo), Dragonite (also PokeGo), Skorupi/Drapion (SP) and right now I'm doing a co-op playthrough of Let's Go Pikachu that is making me inordinately fond of the Oddish line
Favorite because of some other role it played for me in a game: Magby (my main Flame Body mon for egg hatching in Moon), Gallade (my main catching build in Scarlet and Sword), Krookodile (the infinite money build for SV lmao), Larvesta/Volcarona (more flame body)
Favorite because of The Vibes: Hisuian Typhlosion, Sneasel/Weavile, Corviknight, Misdreavus/Mismagius, Sableye, Mawile
Favorite because I randomly encountered them in a newer game and was delighted, despite not caring much for them in older games: Bergmite, Girafarig, Machop, Darumaka, Foongus, Frillish
Favorite because duh, everyone loves them for a reason: Eevee(+lutions), Zorua/Zoroark, Rockruff/Lycanrock, Riolu/Lucario, Wooloo/Dubwool, Applin/Appletun, Snom, Spheal
Favorite because it's just extremely fucking funny: Spinda, Milcery, Falinks, Rellor, Tandemaus/Maushold, Tinkaton, Orthworm (gen 9 is RIPE with extremely good funnyguys, tbh. As much as I appreciate a cool pokemon design the funny ones are just so much more instantly charming)
Favorite because nobody else likes them: Dhelmise, Stonjourner
Favorite becauss Gamefreak forgot about them: Blitzle/Zebstrika
Favorite because I have random fond memories of them from childhood: Venonat, Electrike (my first full-odds shinies from when I was growing up 🥺), Bayleef (I had a cool figure), Skitty (had a plush), Absol (my first Favorite Pokemon™️), Buizel/Floatzel, Shellos (more top-tier childhood fav), Bonsly (played XD), Munchlax (my mom LOVED munchlax whenever it appeared in the show/movie I was watching)
Favorite because it's related to one of the other guys that are my favorites: Magnemite, Oddish, Cyndaquil, Litwick, Dratini
Favorites that I don't even have a good category for I just get really excited when I see them: Lapras, Wishiwashi, Drampa, Slugma, Torkoal, Skarmory, Houndour/Houndoom, Lotad, Seedot, Surskit/Masquerain, Shroomish/Breloom, Makuhita, Numel/Camerupt, Trapinch/Vibrava/Flygon, Baltoy/Claydol, Snorunt, Driftloon/Driftlimb, Venipede/Scolipede, Cottonee/Whimsicott, Petilil/Liligant
Favorite Gens Overall: Gen 3 and Gen 4 (I'm not even gonna pretend this is about anything but nostalgia)

Not to make another very specific meg fandom rant especially at nearly 6 am but this was on my mind for awhile so fuck it: There’s a lot of behavior I genuinely despise in fandom culture but my least favorite fucking thing has got to be when people actively dunk on a series entry that they make it a entire aspect of their personality and target fans who actually enjoyed that particular entry just because they couldn’t.
I’ve seen this happen more and more consistently as years go on-especially in smaller fandoms-and this has got to be the most unnecessary and pettiest shit I’ve seen. You are allowed to outright despise an entry in a series you like but attacking people for it is NOT a good look for the fandom. The alternatives to it is simply blocking if it bugs you THAT much or leaving the fandom completely, stop engaging entirely is better then scaring off people who are otherwise enjoying something.
Even if it “objectively” ruined things it’s not your fucking right to say what people can like. It is so toxic to hate someone for liking something that isn’t even PROBLEMATIC and at most bad or mid. (we all like at least one thing that is deemed “garbage” don’t lie to yourself) You are not setting up a enjoyable environment for fans, you are just making things harder to discuss.
Moral of the story: don’t be a fucking asshole about the most trivial things and judge people based off of how they act, not something stupid like what they like unless it’s a clear indicator of their behavior.

Me trying to figure out what 1970s international news event could be responsible for the similarities going on between Doctor Who’s “City of Death” serial and Lupin III’s “Mona Lisa Smiles Twice” episode:
An art forgery scandal was all I needed. Mona Lisa is famous and was famously stolen, so one major 1979 or 1978 art forgery scandal would have completely explained two franchises going for a Mona Lisa Theft & Forgery & What is Real Art Anyway plot within two months of each other. But I can’t find one! I can’t find anything! By all appearances the similarities are completely a coincidence! And City of Death never even aired in Japan so it wasn’t rapid-turnaround imitation/homage!
How do two franchises across the world from each other completely independently decide at the same time to write a story hinging on something so incredibly specific as whether a copy of the Mona Lisa counts the same as the original Mona Lisa?

Ok, can I just complain about what has just clicked to me that it's actually a full on trend with youtube thumbnails?
Fucking sick of the pointing arrow with "winner?" every fucking time there's anything that involves any kind of competition these days
Saw it a little, thought it was dumb, but it's becoming more and more and more common and... and I'm not even that mad at the people who do it cause I get it, but fuck I'm sick of it and fuck I'm kinda sick of... of if it's working the people who have shiny brain and click cause oh! must find out, or if it's not working the youtube algorithm for I guess making it seem like it work
Actually I suppose I just am fucking tired of the whole culture that leads to it in the first place of fucking gotta have jingling keys at all time, gotta fucking consume, always need something to consume
Fuck man, I'm almost glad that some days like the past couple I've just kind of sat around in malaise, bored out of my mind while not being able get myself to do anything I wanted or find anything that was entertaining... but like, fuck, I think I'd rather get like that sometimes but know how to just sit through it than have to have new content every second of every day or else
(And this isn't a straw man and this isn't railing against the youth or something, I know a dude that's like that who is a bit older than I am)
"Winner?", man, just fucking pitch me what's happening and I'll watch it or not
