#sometimes i hate tumblr

I'm trying to catch up with my dash after spending some time skiing, and tumblr is just being slooooooooooow. I thought it was my internet, but I can watch an HD YouTube video, or stream on Amazon, or look at other picture-heavy sites just fine. No other sites seem to be slow to respond, so I think it's just Tumblr for whatever reason. Pictures are taking forever to load. If I click the like button, it takes about 30 seconds for the like to show, and if I try to comment, it takes about a minute, literally, for what I type to show on the screen. I even had to type this post in Notepad and then copy/paste it here. It's frustrating af.

So, I give up. I did look at and read everything I've missed, but I gave up on liking and commenting. So to the folks whose posts I usually like/comment, consider everything you posted in the last day-and-a-half or so to be liked. I just can't sit here for four hours doing what usually takes half an hour or so. Special shout-out to @schokokokatze. I really, really love your ancient "ancient Greek" gameplay, and I'm very happy to see it on my dash again.

In other "news," I restarted, hopefully for the last time, my "tribal" save. In my last attempt, among a few other things, breeding was happening a little too easily/quickly, so it got too overwhelming, so I tweaked the conception chances and adjusted a few other things that still weren't quite right. I don't think I'm going to document this save on here because it's far too complicated and I might just have to restart it again, but I'll post out-of-context pics here and there, if they're pretty or cute or whatever. Maybe at some point I'll post up an explanation of the scenario and its rules. Maybe it'll give fellow "primitive" historical players or players of the occult "species" some ideas. The very basic idea is one of playing "tribes" of different occults, each with rules about what they do, how their particular society is structured, and how they interact with other "tribes," all in a "primitive," polygamous-but-not-romantic context.

Anyway, I'm off to play that save instead of dealing with Tumblr's nonsense. Hopefully the nonsense will clear up soon.

Hey tumblr your live feature makes my dashboard look disgusting and I want it gone. I will never use this feature and I feel like most of the user base of this site agrees with that sentiment. The fact that staff were forced to add this feature when tumblr thrives off of being a place of anonymous comaraderie is so laughable that it is no longer funny. And the cherry on top of it all? You can “silence” the live feature but only for a week at a time? sometimes when total strangers commit the crime of being annoying in my reblogs i DM them or reply @ them before blocking simply due to the autistic need to be understood. BUT i have rules for when i'm allowed to do that.

1. i'm not allowed to do it without running the scenario past a groupchat to make sure i'm justified in annoyance and not simply evil (due to migraine, hangry, etc) 2. i have to make it constructive and helpful feedback, such that they can avoid getting blocked in future interactions. which sometimes makes me feel like i'm some sort of tumblr user manners training wizard. eg:
