Artfight in 4 days so I'm finishing up my last few refs (I've got 1-2 after this?) Anyways, self-indulgence time. I've been meaning to make an artist sona type thing for ages (and started thinking about it again when drawing my spidersona thing). But having my favorite creature as a siphonophore made workshopping a design a bit of a struggle. Thankfully the worms in my brain give me many good ideas.

His jacket isn’t actually hi vis (not easy to commit crime in a glowing coat) but it has the patterns because I think they look cool. I wish I could wear my hi vis jacket more often but I overheat so quickly in it 😭

A new year, a new me.

I've always struggled with my virtual persona, and how to best express myself. Most people know me for Glamor, but as much as I adore Glamor's design and personality, she's not ME. Chalice has always been meant to be my 'sona, but I've struggled with her design for so long and at times almost felt ashamed to show her off because of how insecure I was about her. She never even had a proper reference image because I kept changing how she looked every time I drew her. (It's okay, sometimes we can't always hit it out of the park at first bat, like I did with Glamor and arguably Garra as well, lol.)

In the end, I've managed to find something that I'm satisfied with. This new design is obviously a very much idealized, fantasy-land version of myself, but it's what makes me happy, so I'm going with it. It's been a long and difficult journey but I thank you all for joining me on it. 💙
