I don't think enough people talk about YOU TWO. People are always attributing various things to gaster, but there were two other people in the room with him when it happened. They could be the ones doing these things. I always felt like a lot of the things attributed to him seem to contradict each other personality-wise. Maybe one of them is going around giving random short guys new, never-before-seen complexes while the other is handing out eggs, or making fountains.
On deltarune.com/chair there's dialogue that appears in the tab name: "But what if it could get... ...darker than dark?" This seems like it was said surrounding one of Gaster's dark experiments, but notably, it is not in all capital letters, like Gaster always speaks in. This was someone else talking. They use capitalization the normal way, just like the voice that discards the vessel, so they could be the same person. I know just about everyone uses capitalization the normal way, the connecting thread here is both being in relation to Gaster, the capitalization just means that them being the same person is allowed.

i think probably the most surreal thing about hatsune miku specifically becoming kind of mainstream is that her fame is detached from her roots. i.e. a lot of people who are only hearing about miku via cultural osmosis don't actually know WHAT she is. i see people make a lot of comments about what miku is without ever actually being correct. "she's a robot" "she's a persona" "she's a hologram" for fucks sake she is a synthesizer. she is an app, a program. she is not AI. the voice samples used to make her voice were given with consent and you actually have to plug in the words and melody manually instead of just typing in a prompt and generating something. and one of the side effects of this particular semi-mainstream status is that miku kind of eats up all the popularity that could be going to other vocalsynths. like unless you've been in the vocaloid/vocalsynth community for a while, the likelihood that you're familiar with literally any other vocalsynth aside from MAYBE gumi is like astronomically low. and even if a vocaloid song with other vocalsynths manages to get popular in this landscape, it most likely gets covered by utaites/youtaites and other adjacent singers like vtubers over and over until the original version of the song gets completely buried. and it's just a tiny bit exhausting.

Our first introduction to a revived Catelyn is learning that she can't speak but she remembers, inquiries about Arya, and accurately pointing out someone involved in that red wedding. It's been obvious from the start that she's still Catelyn, even though her being resurrected affected her. Considering fandom's trend of labeling female characters "too far gone" for not being perfect, pure, and passive it's obvious why people talk about her like they do. Yes she's angry and wants revenge but literally who wouldn't if they were in her situation? It's annoying how little empathy people have for her character. Personally, I hope there's more to her story than getting demonized for rightfully wanting revenge and having to get "put down" like she's a wild animal.

I was talking to a friend about how it's kinda fucked that if any of the tortured poet songs are about Matty Healy (I think some are but you never know) that her issues about him are just "vague bad boy asshole" instead of the fact that he's a racist piece of shit. And my friend said something along the lines of "well how do you expect her to have a line in there that just says he's a racist"
And like..... she fully could actually. One of the other songs on the album, as shitty as the line is, does specifically mention racism and technically implies it is bad (very big problems with the actual content of the line but that's for a different post). She also previously had a song, as performative as it was, that told people homophobia was stupid.
So it's not that she doesn't want anything "political" in her songs, or that she wouldn't striaght up mention racism. Would it really be that hard to have a line basically being like "then i realized you were shitty to me, and a bigot too". Like. It isn't hard. You're not even pulling a dear john to mention his name explicitly or something, so it would be up for interpretation who it would be about (even if we all knew). I'm not asking for a full song called Bigot #5, just some indication that this was a problem

watched the musical demon show (don't wanna name it so this post isn't in the tags) at the behest of an IRL friend and i can already tell this is going to be a piece of media where i absolutely cannot stop thinking about it, not because i really love the show as-is, but because it has so many individual components i really like and find incredibly fun or compelling, and i'm so frustrated that it doesn't come together for me
i think the main thing i can say about it as a show, setting aside some of the insensitive choices that were made that i really don't feel qualified to tackle or talk about, is that the entire thing sort of gives off this vibe of someone really excited to show you every single oc they made in high school and college and i very genuinely mean that in both the best and worst ways possible
there are some good hooks for season two though so i will absolutely give them that

I wish both sides would just shut up and move on or enjoy the song in peace lol. No need to hate on this song, or on those who aren't vibing with it.

have been analyzing my taylor rankings & opinions a lot recently (when am i not) and i've realized that even though if you asked me to rank her genres i would pick her country over her pop as a whole, i almost always rank her pop albums higher than her country albums on an individual basis and this is because i just find the topics she explores in them infinitely more compelling
