anyway, just a few important things: as I mentioned before, there’s a 2 year time jump and in that gap is where Shadow meets Rouge. she was able to get him out of his shell a little and get them to trust her. she eventually became something of an older sister-figure to Shadow (which he would never admit). naturally, when Rouge found out Shadow was living alone in a cave like some sort of animal, she was not bouta let them continue living like that (so in conclusion: roommates). oh yeah, Rouge has a house lmao which I didn’t draw smh. also Rouge didn’t have any big reason for moving to the village; just a jewel thief wanting someplace to call home

another short note: Shadow’s backstory is a bit different. since Boom (at least to my knowledge) doesn’t have any humans aside from Eggman, I’ve decided that the Ark stuff didn’t happen since this is a different universe. Shadow doesn’t really have as brooding of a backstory as before: just an extremely isolated teenager with some really good combat and survival skills. His backstory isn’t really relevant to the story (hence why it’s so vague), but feel free to theorize how he got these skills and ridiculously annoying inferiority complex. ALSO he’s mortal in this story, still has powers (which will be explained much later), and he doesn’t rely on inhibitors. so basically the rings are just a fashion choice in this universe

at this point you might be wondering what happened with team Sonic. so after their last confrontation, Shadow tries his best to avoid them because Sonic literally stunned him. like they deadass didn’t even know how to respond so they avoid confronting the issue. he still interacts with him though, but I’ll get into that more in the next part

as for how the gang feels about Rouge: she cool. they’re on pretty good terms and are grateful she kinda “brought Shadow to the light” a little bit. he’s still brooding, doesn’t quite get socials queues, and needlessly violent sometimes, but it’s certainly an improvement compared to how ruthless they were before

oh yeah, might be important to clarify how the gang feels about Shadow too. they’re kinda indifferent about him tbh (except maybe Sticks being a tad bit suspicious of him). Shadow, on the other hand, finds them incredibly annoying
