Life Series Scarring Headcanons: Part 2

All the disclaimers and explanations are on Part 1, so if you haven't seen that one yet, I recommend hopping over there real quick.

Some of these do get a bit...graphic? Specific? Something along those lines. I kind of split the middle ground between Video Game and more realistic injuries. (Did I spend way to long thinking about specifics of murder and death for this? I plead the fifth.)

Grian

Third Life: In my mind's eye Grian has always turned to look at the sky after his leap from the cactus ring, so the death blow was to the back of his head.

Last Life: Scott killed him when the late-game reds banded together to hunt down Grian and Joel. The other members of the alliance dealt damage, but Scott got the final hit in. Grian was fleeing at the time, so the scar is on his back, above his wings.

Double Life: Because sonic booms don't leave external evidence so much as they remove your insides from anything vaguely approaching a solid state, there isn't a scar as such from this death. There is a mark though, mid-mass. (it is not concentric circles, that's just what I put on the diagram to mark the location)

Limited Life: Fall damage again, based off the "camera angle" the general vibe I got was that Grian could have tried to catch himself on his hands as he fell. From that height, it was futile and there are faint marks on his wrists where the bone poked through as well as the actual death blow to the side of his forehead. Bird Man needs to stop falling off things fr.

Impulse

Third Life: Bdubs shot him after Scar gave him a clock in the most infamous backstabbing in the series to date. Usually when Bdubs shot someone I place the mark a bit lower, but they were on a bit of a hill at the time.

Last Life: In what was something of the fashion on the Last Life server, Scott shot him. He was trying to flee when he was shot, so I placed the mark at the base of his skull. (If only they were able to wear helmets)

Double Life: Pearl killed Bdubs with a blow to the front, so Impulse has a fainter scar from that death.

Limited Life: In the new contender for most infamous backstabbing in the series (poor Impulse has some rotten luck here) Martyn pretended to go along with the "disarm and fight it out" plan only to turn on them and seize the victory. Impulse wasn't wearing his armor, so the final blow was a sword through his torso that severed his spine.

Martyn

Third Life: Martyn died in the Battle of Dogwarts, to an arrow from Scar. Due to how helter skelter the melee was, I opted to have it be an off-center shot that tore the side of his neck, so it is not a clean mark. (It mirrors Ren's on the opposite side)

Last Life: He was blown up by his own end crystal, (probably triggered by a potion Scott threw) which was placed level with the top half of his body and he was literally right next to it facing it. He didn't even have time to try and shield himself with his arms.

Double Life: He died when Cleo took fall damage while fleeing from Pearl and her dogs. This is one where I took some creative liberties and opted to have the fall damage interpret as a tree branch that Cleo landed on with the full force of their own body weight, impaling herself by accident.

Limited Life: Whether going with his time ran out or Grian smote him, either way it is a death by lightning and the scars are lichtenberg figures down his chest and arm and a little bit his back. The smitey-lightning always goes for the heart, so he and Scott match now. (it also leaves a mark on the sole of the foot when it exits the body and enters the ground, but that doesn't show on the diagram.)

Lizzie

She has only perma-died in one season, even though she has technically been in two. In Last Life she ultimately died to fall damage while trying to fight back and escape from BDubs when he betrayed the other reds. Her scar is hidden by her hair.

I need to share my two cents on Prime!Sonic because I feel that he’s getting unnecessary hate from people (mild spoilers for season 2)

First off, I get it if you don’t like him for your own reasons. How he talks, how he acts, what he looks like, ETC. I am in no way judging you for your own opinion

What I hate about this is people saying that he is ‘not sonic’. He doesn’t act like how sonic would be. I’ve seen people say he rude or selfish, and I feel that they’re comparing him too much with his other selves.

Sonic Prime isn’t game sonic; despite the creators saying it’s ‘as close to cannon as it gets’. Sonic Prime isn’t the same as Cannon Sonic. The only reason why the series is ‘close to cannon’ is the fact that we have badniks, rings, power ups, ETC; things from the games. That’s the only thing that is like cannon in the story

But for Prime!Sonic’s character… he IS not sonic, not the one like his game counter part. BUT I think he is not far off from the original. Yes, he doesn’t act like his cannon self, but I think that’s kind of the point? I am a little biased, I love a characterization like this on him, I love me a little bastard. But to me, Prime!Sonic is more of a parody than the real deal. Similar to how Sonic Boom was. An over exaggeration of his character.

Now, yes, I agree that how he acts is… weird. He doesn’t listen to his friends, he messes things up greatly, he causes a lot of problems for himself and others. But I think that this kind of characterization is sort of a… reset of his character? At least for the story. It’s a character arc, the whole show is a character arc for him. We’re seeing a version of sonic grow from start to finish.

This idea is most prevalent in the episode ‘double trouble’, he says in response to Chaos Sonic annoying him: “Ugh. If I’m half as annoying as this guy, I really need to make some changes.”

And while I know that he does come off as selfish and rude, I think those words are a little harsh for him.

He isn’t selfish and rude, he’s dumb and impulsive. He leaps before he looks and assumes by only what he sees in front of him. Even in the final episode he assumes that Nine would be even just a smidge like his Tails, the ‘real’ Tails, but he ISNT Tails, he is Nine.

But the whole thing about all of this, is that he is learning. Shadow calls him out on trusting the fox to much, Rebel- heck- everyone says he comes to cause trouble, and they’re right, he does.

From what I’ve seen from the start of season 1 to the end of season 2, I have seen this hedgehog learn through his mistakes, even just slightly. Remember, each season is like 8 episodes. Pretty much right after his tussle with Chaos Sonic, you can see him become a little less annoying and a little more serious. He’s still a little shit, but he’s working to lessen that so things like this doesn’t happen again.

And for his actions towards people. One prevalent example I’ve heard people complain about is that he goes in for affection, when cannon sonic doesn’t do that. And while they are right, I think him going in for his hug with Shadow and Nine make sense for the story.

During the events of Prime, Sonic has been more or less alone, not truly alone, but alone. He has his friends stripped from him, distorted into alternate versions of themselves that have no idea who he is. And this, seeing all of this, it’s hurting him. He wants his friends back, he wants them to be fixed and everything to be back to normal. But right now they aren’t, and it’s getting harder for him to let go of that (proof with his thoughts on Nine).

When he sees Shadow again, he thinks he’s like the others, some other version of him that somehow came into the void with him through one of the Shatter spaces. But when he realizes that he remembers him, that he is the real shadow, he is absolutely ecstatic. FINALLY someone who hasn’t changed, someone who isn’t split into three or more other versions of himself, finally he has the real deal.

I view him hugging shadow out of pure joy and impulse, grabbing onto him and hugging him because finally he has someone who remembers their world before it was broken. Plus, I think Sonic is a tiny bit more physical with Shadow anyways (mostly through violence). I think he’d straight out hug whoever else was in shadows position if they also were the ‘original’ version of themselves.

In conclusion; I think that this little dumb fucker is getting too much hate and too much comparison to his cannon counterpart when he isn’t his cannon counterpart, mostly because the creators said that this show is very cannon accurate, when there’s only a few things to be cannon.

Criticize him all you want, I know I do. But don’t shit on him just cause he does things OOC when (at least I think) that’s not the point of him in the show.

I was absolutely a Sonic X kid but I also knew about some of the games like Adventure Director's Cut DX from magazine ads. I got on the internet around the time the Sonic 06 discourse happened, lost interest but not completely. Had my attention grabbed by Generations and Lost World, there was also the Boom cartoon, but I didn't get into any of those.

Then I tried a genesis collection on the 3DS which I sucked at. Somewhere between that and the first trailer for the movie, I came to the conclusion that "sonic was never good"--on my own thankfully. No input from IGN.

Cut to 2020 when the modern world has finally started spiraling out of control. I watch the Snapcube SA2 dub. I laugh and assume it's completely ironic. I watch the cutscenes to see how stupid the actual story must be.

One hour later I am crying over Shadow the Hedgehog and the ending scene.

Years later and I am now the proud owner of Sonic Generations, Mania, and soon several emulations and/or fangames; I like Boom unironically, enjoyed the movies, and am dying to go back and rewatch the other cartoons. I even stuck around for 2 seasons of Prime!

Oh and there's also the massive pile of AU fanfic ideas I have to keep locked away so I don't burnout from all the other WIPs I've got to deal with.

My take on sonic prime season 3:

Warning: im not naturally english so please dont mind my weird senteces and wrong grammer!

After sonic sacreficed himself he quickly went downhill. The chaos council betrayed them and got sent to the dark pit in the void. Nine gives sonic a communicator and they hug goodbye. The Roses help sonic and shadow to get back to greenhill. After the ship gets damaged shadow picks up sonic (bridal style ❤️) to get him to the gate. After sonic flirts with shadow on the verge of death he faints. Shadow holds sonic even tighter and makes 3 sonic booms. Shadow and sonic get though the portal and are back in green hill. (the moment they enter is just when the crew got blasted away from the prism. They fall to the ground and see shadow crash in holding sonic protecting him from the fall into the ground.) Shadow and sonic Come out of the paradoxprism and crash into the ground. The crew stands up and look confused at shadow but then realize that sonic is dying. They quickly run towards them and help shadow up. Shadow asks if it worked but then he sees sonic is still dying and runs towards him and shouts his name. Eggman stops with pulling the paradoxprism and looks at the scene. Shadow and the crew are trying everything to keep him alive but then he breathes his last breath out. Shadow is in disbelief and the crew cries. Sonic slowy sparkles away but then the paradoxprism shoots a energy blast at sonic. Sonic is rising up while the blast is surrounding him with Light (in the colors of the prism) and gets resurected. (how that happens is kinda like: he rises up and his arms and legs get pushed down as if he reclames his soul. Hope i explained it good 😅) Sonic falls to the ground but before he touches it shadow catches him. He puts sonic down and hugs him and says:" Dont ever do that to me again please!" Sonic hugs him back and responds:" Don't worry, i would't dare." Shadow frees sonic from his hug. Sonic sees his friends and stands up and runs towards them with tears in his eyes. The crew is confused but accepts the grouphug. The groupshug is interrupted by eggman who attacks them. Sonic nods to shadow and he nods back. Together they defeat his robot in no time and the crew is even more confused. Rouge asks:" Okay, what the hell happended between you 2?!" Sonic answers:" I promise i explain everything later but can i please sleep for a whole week first? Sonic faints of exhaustion and shadow picks him up (bridal style ❤️.... Again) and says:" Il bring him home." Shadow leaves and the crew is left flabbergasted. Shadow puts sonic is his big hammock and tucks him in but then he feels a hand around his arm and sonic pulls shadow in the hammock and says:" Stay, please." Shadow gives in and joins him in the hammock. A couple of 10 minutes later rouge and tails enter and see the scene. Tails is really shocked and rouge is like: OMG omg omg SO cute expression. Tails tries to wake them up but rouge takes his arm and shakes her head. Tails gets the message and leaves them alone. A couple days later they wake up and sonic checks the time and realizes they slept for days. (like 2 or somth) Sonic and shadow go to the crew who are chilling at the palmtree. Sonic and shadow explain everything and the next shot you see is the reaction of the crew who are flabbergasted. (again 😜) The next thing what happens is the communicator going off and we hear nine saying:" Sonic, we are all at your gate could you open it?" Sonic sprints to the paradoxprism and takes some power to open a portal. All his friends enter his world and sonic says:"Hey guys! Let me show you my friends and my world!" Rebel en knux let out a tear because they are back in greenhill. Everyone arrives at the palmtree and sonic introduces them all.

The episode ends with them hanging out and having a beach party. (BTW, sonadow is canon)

End.

And how is that for a finale? I decided to not be this the modern sonic crew because i want this to be a seperate universe. And now since this is a seperate universe they just cross over from time to time . And with all the flirttension between sonic and shadow i made them canon in my universe.

A: I'm not sure what specific headcanon you're referencing, but I definitely believe she knows ballet! Especially her idle animations in the Boom games. That girl knows how to dance.

Anon Asked: Do you like sonic unleashed or have you ever played it?

A: I never had the chance to play it, but I love the story and I love what I've seen. I am hoping they'll re-release it for the PS4 (or PS5) so I can finally play it!

Anon Asked: If you don’t mind me asking, what do you think of Barry the Quokka, the protagonist from The murder of sonic the hedgehog? If you don’t know anything about them what do you think of their design?

A: Of course I know the trash bin king! I like his design a lot. He's super cute and I love a nervous wreck of a character. I also loved that he was just this totally normal dude who has to spend an afternoon with the most insane group of friends ever.

Anon Asked: If you had to choose, what is your favorite and your least favorite sonic game?

A: I always have a hard time answering this because there are so many styles of games and I think some are better at certain aspects than others. For example, I think Frontiers had the best writing and actor perfomances. I still think Sonic Adventure 2 has the best gameplay and replay value. And Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is my favorite of the classics because I think it's the most visually perfect and the gameplay is a lot of fun. But if I have to choose, I guess I have to go with SA2 because I never get sick of it. My least favorite is Sonic Spinball haha I suck at it.

A: Thank you so much for the compliment! I'm not a professional so I don't feel right diagnosing anyone with anything, even if they are fictional characters. I personally suffer from anxiety and depression so I can speak to that, but I don't think I am the person to comment on anything else.

Q: What are Aurora’s primary and secondary love languages?

A: I had to take the Love Language quiz as Aurora. I got her primary as Quality Time. Physical Touch and Acts of Service were nearly tied for second.

A: Yes! She loves a good prank, so long as it doesn’t hurt anybody. Sometimes she doesn’t realize that not everybody enjoys a practical joke though.

Q: Is Aurora competitive?

A: She is, because she feels like she’s got a lot to prove. But not to the point where she’s going to hurt a kids feelings just so she can say she won at something. She’s always going to let little ones win.

Q: Do she have a guilty pleasure?

A: She loves reading romance novels and sometimes she writes friend-fictions like Amy does in Sonic Boom or Tina in Bob’s Burgers hahaha

Q: What quality does she most value in Shadow?

A: She loves how he is unapologetically himself, if that makes sense. Despite what he was created for, he is his own man/hedgehog and he’s forged his own path. Even when others try to put him down or break him, he knows who he is and he doesn’t back down and she’s in awe of that.

Q: Pet peeves?

A: Closed-mindedness is the main thing. Whether that’s about something important like accepting somebody for who they are, or something small like not willing to try a type of food for the first time. She doesn’t understand how people can be like that and it irks her. She also hates when people agree to something and then they flake out haha

Q: If she were shopping, what type of store would she choose and what type of item?

A: One of those record stores that has a little bit of everything. You go there for music and movies and books and they always have fun, quirky gifts. Even though the world she lives in is futuristic, she can appreciate classic things and finds them fascinating. Otherwise yeah she’d love a thrift shop because there’s always strange stuff in there. Wherever she shops, she can’t leave any store without getting something silly that she found cute.

Q: What is her most and least favorite chore?

A: Her favorite chore is spring cleaning, where everybody rummages through everything and downsizes stuff. She likes it just because of the things she’ll find that she’s forgotten about or never knew was in the house. Her least favorite chore is laundry. It’s boring and it never ends!

Q: Outside of swimming and singing, what others hobbies does she have?

A: She loves to dance, that’s a big one. I’ve also joked in the past that she’d do really well if Shadow ever brought her to a gun range, so with that in mind she’d find things like laser tag and paintball super fun

Q: I remember you saying she hadn’t traveled a lot, so if Aurora could choose anywhere to visit, what place would she most like to see?

A: She’d love to go to outer space. She’d never been to space before meeting Shadow. But she also gets that it’s a “ridiculous” dream since she hasn’t even explored all of her own planet yet. Honestly she would be happy to travel anywhere, she wants to see the whole world and beyond. She wants to experience the most of life.

Q: What is her favorite fairy tale?

A: Thumbelina. She could see herself in that story a lot: a small lady who is loved but doesn't really fit in anywhere, and gets whisked around by others trying to control what she does with her life. In the end she's rewarded for her kindness and finally finds where she belongs.

A: Please don't ever apologize for questions. I'm happy you're so interested! And especially glad you enjoy CC! When she was in her original "drone-like" form she couldn't feel pain but she could feel fear. When she builds her Mobian body, she engineers it so she does have all kinds of feeling-receptors, including pain. Not that pain is enjoyable to her, but it's important for her to be able to have as much of the Mobian-experience as possible. I wasn't expecting AI Art to pop off the way it has so I never thought to include it in my work. CC is beyond the AI form now though, she's a full on person. Just like Sage became a full person, beyond just her programming. So I think she and Sage have the ability to create their own forms of art from their own minds. I think I've address something similar in the past: CC has the ability to just play music from her body like a speaker, but she preferred to learn how to play an instrument because she wanted to experience the art form properly. CC didn't think to include a winter coat for her Mobian body, but upon snuggling with Tails she'd definitely add that to her list of future modifications! He's the fluffiest of them all in the winter so he'd be so snuggly and warm and lovely. Thank you for following me!

A: Well, if she was the project she wouldn't be Aurora. She is the creation of Sonic and Amy so without them she wouldn't exist :) As far as her being immortal and Shadow being mortal: If Shadow was engineered in the 50s and he wasn't made immortal then they never would have met. He would have passed away long before she ever came around.

Anon Asked: How good of a fighter is Rory?

A: She is average as far as physical combat. She's better at diversions and dodging, using an opponents' energy against them. If she was playable in a game, I imagine she'd have a lot of QTE actions that allow her to dodge a boss and make them tire themselves out before she uses her light powers to damage them. While she attended the Young Heroes program she learned combat, but Sonic never wants her in harms' way so he instructed her to always try to distance herself from enemies so she can use her long-range light powers. But she won't back down from a fight if it means she can protect someone else.

A: All the kids can go super except for the third litter (Cinder, Diamond and Boon). Those three aren't able to use chaos emeralds at all. The family does not know why.

A: Gun-wielding is a part of Shadow's identity so I'd never take that aspect away from him. And Aurora actually enjoys shooting too (targets, not people!) so she doesn't feel weird about that topic. However, I believe that they are huge proponents for RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERSHIP so they keep all their weapons securely locked up and unloaded at ALL TIMES. And Shadow wouldn't teach the kids how to shoot until they're MUCH older and responsible enough to handle such a dangerous weapon. But you'd better believe he trained them well in marksmanship via laser tag and paintball as kids!

Anon Asked: Hi! I noticed that in your Aurora-comics Sonic grows a mustache as he gets older - what made him come to that decision? And what does Amy think about it???? A: Hi and thank you so much! Honestly, the reason I gave him a mustache was just to make him appear older haha. I tried multiple ways to age him up but the mustache was the most effective. Originally, I wanted to give him something more distinguished but I ran into two problems: 1 - I didn't want people mistaking him for Uncle Chuck. 2 - I don't see Sonic taking the time to properly sculpt a mustache/beard, so I gave him something rough and simple haha. I have drawn him deciding to grow it out and Amy's reaction to it :) Amy loved it, then didn't like it, then went back to loving it because now she gets the most ticklish, delicious kisses! 🥰 The good thing about hair/fur is that it's not permanent! You can always change it :)

A: Aw, thank you! Well the Sonic franchise has been feeding ME well this year so I have the energy to nourish you all hahaha. I'm so happy you accept Aurora 🥰 I like to think that Sonic and Amy are very accepting and loving people and would raise their children to believe that too. Also, Aurora is VERY used to seeing public displays of affection from her parents, so if she saw two people kissing or holding hands in public, no matter their gender, she'd be bouncing up and down "OOH ARE THEY IN LOVE?! ARE THEY IN LOVE??" and Sonic and Amy would be like "That's right, Tiny!"

Anon Asked: What have been going on in Aurora's mind when she was a baby?

A: I'm not sure babies think about much 😉 Just general thoughts of "Mom, Dad, Food, Joy, Sleepy" But hey I could be wrong!

Anon Asked: Out of curiosity, I know that you ship Shadow + Aurora together (and I’m okay with that)… But what if the Time-Travel Adventure never happened?… What if Shadow never went on a Big-Space Adventure and stayed with the Others?… What if he was there to watch Aurora grow up, with the Others?… What would their relationship be like, if that happened?… Would Shadow become like Aurora’s Uncle or be like a Teacher/Mentor to her, in the ways of combat?… Or would they somehow still have a romantic relationship, instead of platonic? 😇?

A: Even if Shadow never left, I don't imagine he'd spend much time with Aurora as a child. He and Sonic are not friends, and though I'm sure he'd consider Amy a friend, I don't think they're close enough for him to want to be actively involved in their kid's life. I don't think he'd even be actively involved in Ruff and Tumble's lives if he was on-world the whole time. It'd be more of a "Oh... hey kids... just here to see your mom... goodbye..." He'd likely be more of an idol to Aurora and she wouldn't mean anything to him. That being said, I do believe in soulmates, and again Shadow is immortal so he does not age. So I believe that once she's grown up, that's when he starts to really see her for who she is and that attraction would come later in life, but that would not happen while she was a child obviously.

Anon Asked: What was the scariest movie that Aurora ever saw and how exactly did it end?

A: Aurora does not like scary movies so she avoids them haha. Sometimes she'll agree to watch a classic horror movie with Shadow because he likes that kind of thing but she still finds it terrifying haha. Aurora can sort of handle movies like Wolfman or Dracula but not anything more intense than that. She couldn't sleep for days after "Night of the Living Dead (1968)"

A: I'm so happy you enjoyed my last set of asks, Anon. I hope you return and see your question here! Grandpa!Sonic is wayyyy more accepting of his son-in-law at this point and doesn't hold (much) ill-will towards him. However he does revel in the fact that Shadow doesn't know a moment of peace now that he's got a million children haha! But he loves his grandkids to death and so does Grandma!Amy. I did an old comic (having a hard time finding it right now) where Sonic has a dream about his future grandkids and when he wakes up he calls them "Tiny Fakers" but he would never actually call his grandkids that. They're his family! I appreciate that compliment and I can't believe you've been following me for so long! I'm honored (and blown away haha!). Honestly though I don't really think about the concept of having "followers" all that much. I just look at it as I'm here having fun drawing silly things and I've been lucky enough to have other people come and enjoy it with me. A: That's hard to say, since we've only ever seen Amy have eyes for Sonic. I'm not against it, though.

A: I mostly avoid heavy topics and fights because we get enough of that in other media and I like most of my art to be a safe place people can go to to just get a good boost of feel-good serotonin! So for my main storyline, they get into little arguments and bicker over small things because all couples do, but I try not to ever put them in a giant blow-out fight that will alter their relationship. That being said, the biggest disagreement I ever have them going through is in Aurora's Time Travel adventure (which still hasn't been published yet, sorry!). Sonic adamantly believes Aurora should not risk her life and time travel in that story and Amy disagrees. This will put tension between them for awhile, but ultimately they will be okay.

I’m bored so here’s a ranking of the Austin and Ally seasons IMO

4) Season 1

It was cute. They were all such babies.

It was goofy and the songs were bops. No drama, just fun.

What was the wardrobe department smoking tho , because why did they have Ally (a 14/15 year old girl) looking like a grandma? Austin, you’re not getting away with your wardrobe choices either buddy.

3) Season 4 (there i said it)

In terms of comfort episodes, this season has it all for me. No drama (until towards the end of the season) just vibes.

The comedy for sure matured and the characters were developed and grown up.

Also AUSLLYYYYY. They were 100% married for the entirety of the last season, no one could tell me otherwise. They were just living their best life being happy. They all acted like normal high school teens in this season which I liked. (I liked when they got to be normal teens instead of pop stars all the time)

Austin and Ally were in FULL mom and dad mode with season with Trish and Dez being the fun aunt and uncle.

Also younger me (and low key present me) wanted Ally’s wardrobe. SUCH an improvement from season 1.

Genuinely such a funny season with a lot of funny episodes.

BUT I low key missed Sonic Boom and there were a lot of filler episodes (IMO). Also idk if its just me but I felt like they were acting more grown up than they actually were.

Also where were all the performances? Where were the Auslly at the piano scenes? WHAT WAS UP WITH AUSTIN’S HAIR?

With all that being said I still really loved this season.

2) Season 2

The writers really did that!

The comedy, the goofiness, the angst, the drama, the romance! THE WARDROBE CHANGE!

THE FUCKING PERFORMANCES! (That ‘Better Than This performance’ + that ‘Tunes and Trials’ episode lives in my head rent free)

BABY AUSLLY! THE BEGINNING OF THEIR LOVE STORY! ALLY LOSING HER STAGE FRIGHT! WHAT WAS IN THAT MF NOTE?!

That finale still has me in pieces

The comedy was still kinda childish but it was a Disney show! Come on now.

THIS was the season that hooked me onto the show. MWAH chef’s kiss.

This was peak Disney Channel greatness for me. Younger me was SHOOK!

Started off with Austin and Ally missing each other while he was on tour, a few shenanigans in between, a few relationships filled with jealousy AND THEN ended with an Auslly love confession and Austin giving up his career for her! Who’s doing it like that?!

Also what was in the water that year, cause how did everyone look so damn good?! Ally’s hair will forever be goals, it was GIVING.

There was a balance of comedy, romance and drama AND performances and that’s what made this show what it was essentially.

I finally watched Sonic Prime and am officially up to speed (lol) and I have to say it was amazing. It was a fantastic exploration of the characters, the settings and worldbuilding are awesome, and the animation is just *chefs kiss* I even like the format of it constantly switching perspectives and the constant flashbacks which just adds to the idea of everything being displaced and shattered.

My only real issues with it (which are completely subjective to me and not at all an objective critique) are some of the designs as well as some of the humor. There are parts that genuinely made me laugh, but more out of charm or accidentally great timing than because of the joke itself. Some of the humor is painful to get through, but I think that may just be me. I'm also not a fan of some of the designs. The animation is awesome, but the models are not my favorite translation of the game designs in terms of proportions (It may be a bit contentious but I think a better interpretation of the designs was honestly sonic boom don't fight me) like the faces are weirdly squished or something, idk how to describe it. I also am not a fan of some of the alternative designs for characters, like Gnarly or Dr. Don’t. While other designs I love, like Rusty Rose or The Dread. Like, I think they look super cool.

As for my favorite season one moments, I love the conversation Sonic and Thorn Rose have that redeems her, because it's just such a nice soft moment. And I also love when captain dread finds the shard. The animation is so well done and you really believe he’s lost his mind. Idk maybe I just really like Dread.

However, based on just the first episode I already know I'm going to love season 2. Shadow is finally properly voiced and written and the fight between him and Sonic was amazing. Literally the whole time I was like “The boys are fighting!!! THE BOYS ARE FIGHTING” it was so hype. And I also loved Sonic’s genuine reaction to the ghosts and the legitimate guilt you see in his face and hands and hear in his voice. Like, you can tell they really put a lot of effort into that scene.

Anyway that was my rant now that I've seen the show. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

i strongly believe that in like at least 90% of every disney show, the show just goes downhill after season 3

for example, liv and maddie: cali style. one of my friends on instagram who has a liv and maddie account doesn’t post about season 4 because she hates it. she even has a pinned post of a small set of reasons why she hates it so much (and understandably so.) i mean, the dad left the show, diggie and maddie are together, they’re not in stevens point, wisconsin anymore? i like dina and ruby, don’t get me wrong, but like, cali style was so so bad

another example, someone’s going to crucify me for this one, is austin and ally. growing up, i had a HUGE crush on ross/austin, and for a bit, i hated the ship auslly. a few years later, i made a whole fanpage for auslly. now, i still like ross and A&A, but as for the ship, i’m neutral. anyway, in season 4, sonic boom changed to A&A music factory, austin’s hair was long?? EW? and it just wasn’t as enjoyable as seasons 1-3. also jace and trish didn’t end up together, excuse me? idk man i just never really liked season 4 of A&A

jessie is probably the only exception to this. all 4 seasons of jessie i loved.

good luck charlie i feel like is debatable. it was an interesting and fun 4 seasons, BUT, spencer and teddy should have NEVER gotten back together. i rest my case

hannah montana is also debatable. again with the ex’s, jake was in the picture (thank the GODS she and him didn’t end up together, i would have thrown hands). i like them being in a different place, i like lily living with them, but i do miss the old house they used to live in, and especially rico’s little shop (or whatever it’s called.)

did suite life on deck make it to 4 seasons? i don’t even remember

wizards of waverly place i think had a good season 4, especially the finale. i like the fact that mason and alex ended up together, juliet and justin ended up together, and both justin and alex got to keep their powers. i feel like max deserved more than the sub station but he did seem ecstatic about that i won’t complain

this one’s gonna hurt me like hell, but, lab rats. you guys know i love this show. it’s my favorite, it’s my comfort show, but i’m not gonna lie, i try to avoid bionic island when i’m watching it. it’s just not as fun as the other seasons. like, tasha isn’t really there, sometimes douglas is there more than donald, sebastian is there (yes this is a sebastian and sebase slander page), they started to make chase more annoying, and they’re not in mission creek anymore. i just think that season 4 of lab rats is my least favorite. i even like elite force better, and we all know how badly they wrote elite force

i already mentioned how team dark = meh burger staff in my boomverse but in case anyone thought i was joking about that i really wasnt. thats actually my excuse on how to get shadow to be a recurring character in sonic boom as opposed to that one guy that only shows up in season finales. he accidentally got himself hired at meh burger and keeps making a conscious effort to get fired because hes too prideful to just quit on his own but anything he does just results in him getting raises/promotions. because meh burger has some serious issues. and he lets dave know that.

anyway sonic boom season 3 ep where sonic keeps trying to order some food for his team to go and shadows on his shift and nothing goes well. sonic keeps trying to order some burgers for his team but shadow keeps getting his order wrong on purpose because he hates him. and then when he finally stops being like that hes just like "oh you wanted BURGERS? why didn't you just say so? anyway :/ sorry SIR :/ were all OUT :/"

they keep doing this back and forth for like 5 hours and when sonic FINALLY gets what he wants shadow overcharges him by like. idk 1200 dollars. for what? for wasting 5 hours of his time. be clearer with your order next time, IDIOT.

then they spend 2 more hours wrecking meh burger a la season 2 finale style. sonic finally leaves the establishment at 3 am (after paying shadow with one of tails' extremely expensive inventions) and wakes all of his friends up at their houses to give them their food.

Sonic the Hedgehog Analyzer, Issue #11: The Battle for Angel Island (Part 3)

Moving on to the next stage of the story (which at this point could be called Sonic Heroes 2), we are greeted with this amazing cover. I absolutely love how it shows Metal Sonic’s progression to Neo Metal Sonic and then Master Overlord.

We start out with Blaze realizing that Angel Island is in free fall and wondering if she had something to do with that, only to get saved by Amy and Tangle, who are both on an Egg Fleet battleship. I assume nobody briefed her on the fact that removing the Master Emerald could cause this.

Meanwhile, Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles are just trying to get avoid being crushed by Master Overlord. Sonic notes that at least he isn’t Super anymore, but that doesn’t really help their situation.

Knuckles calls Amy for support, hoping Burning Blaze is still active, but she relies Blaze’s message of not being able to transform due to the diminished power of the Sol Emeralds. Not to mention, since they have no access to the Chaos Emeralds, Super Sonic (and Super Shadow and Super Silver) are a no go too. Shadow refuses to abandon the fight, with Sonic telling him how he has a plan. Apparently, this plan involves them being captured by Master Overlord.

Sonic points out that all they have to do is to rip out the Master Emerald and Master Overlord is done for. Knuckles decides to focus on the Master Emerald, while Shadow agrees to work with Sonic on busting Master Overlord’s wings and driving him closer to the island.

Meanwhile, Tails and Vector are inside the battleship, with Tails directing it towards Master Overlord, firing at the robotic dragon.

Meanwhile, Knuckles glides towards the Master Emerald, calling Amy to deal with Master Overlord, while Sonic and Shadow tackle Master Overlord. Huh, last time they were in such situation (from what I saw), it was in Sonic Boom Season 2 Finale, where Boom!Sonic proposed a plan to attack Boom!Metal Sonic to Boom!Shadow, only for the latter to ram into him and attempt to attack Boom!Metal on his own. It didn’t go well for him.

Fortunately, unlike his Boom!Counterpart, Shadow here just follows Sonic’s lead.

We then switch scenes to Mr. Tinker being strapped to a table inside some kind of laboratory, with Rough and Tumble questioning their current boss on Mr. Tinker’s behavior. This is also where we meet our new antagonist, Dr. Starline.

So, my thoughts on Starline is that is the kind of villain who leaves an impression on you, as you will find out in the following Issues. I actually grew quite curious about him when I first read this story, wanting to know what he is up to.

Starline’s goal here is to return Mr. Tinker back to Dr. Eggman... by literally electrocuting him!!!

Hey, if there’s anyone who thinks that IDW had made Sonic soft and too child-friendly, here’s a newsflash for you - look at the panel above and tell me that Starline torturing Mr. Tinker isn’t disturbing at all. I dare you!

We then return back to the fight on Angel Island, focusing specifically on Sonic and Master Overlord, with Sonic deciding to tick the latter off by mentioning how Metal Sonic had called him his “loathsome copy”, but last time Sonic checked, hedgehogs couldn’t turn into dragons or were robots for that matter, or use the Master Emerald, or the fact that Sonic came first.

Master Overlord is, naturally, pissed off, calling himself a perfected Sonic, only to get shot in the face by Whisper, with Amy leading her team into battle. Awesome!

We then follow the team literally tearing Master Overlord apart, the latter being unable to do anything as he’s to big to even reach for the heroes, who are crawling all over him like ants... at least until he has enough, shaking everyone off.

Fortunately, Silver catches everyone with his psychokinesis, which is then followed by this epic shot of Tails ramming the battleship into Master Overlord.

Tails is either overjoyed he landed a direct hit... or in disbelief he did something like that. Meanwhile, Knuckles finally manages to dig out the Master Emerald, gliding towards Angel Island with the happiest/most smug grin I ever saw on him. I swear, I laughed for a solid minute when I saw that panel. Look at him, he’s so proud of himself!

After ramming the Master Emerald back into its place, Knuckles lets out a laugh of relief, with Angel Island finally being saved.

After landing on Angel Island, Sonic immediately runs over to Tails (I guess you could call it Big Brother Instinct) to check on him, with Tails being completely fine. They then check on Metal Sonic, who is pretty much KO-ed. He won’t be getting up soon.

Everyone is relieved that the fight is finally over, with Vector noting how the case is closed, Tangle hoping she could continue participating in these kinds of adventures, Silver and Blaze thanking Whisper for help and Shadow waving back at Rouge as he leaves, not wanting to stick around. As for how he’s going to leave Angel Island? I’m assuming he’ll just warp away.

Knuckles is just happy to be back on Angel Island, with the Master Emerald saved, and Sonic and Tails note how the world is finally safe.

We then immediately cut to the reason why they’re celebrating the safety of their world a bit too soon.

alright so ive been genuinely thinking about tails' safety while doing his machines in his workshop because as far as i remember is not something very touched upon??

considering that he started since he was 1) a little kid 2) being raised by sonic and all the recklessness that it implies 3) thinking about an immediate threat aka eggman. i think it's safe to say that as much of a little genius he is. he probably had a lot of accidents because that's just how experimentation and science work, you need to fail a thousand times to get half a thing right and maybe that half right thing might even be up to change in the future

so i just really think about how many times there could've been an explosion, a fire, something falling off or even as little as a very pointy thing scratching him. like he can get hurt badly at any given time

yea i know that's kinda the point sometimes, that is so impressive that such a young kid can make so many great things, but i still feel that it wouldn't be as neat if he hadn't failed so many times and he still was clever enough to pull it off in a faster and more efficient way than anyone could think of

so it might seem weird but the sonic boom show actually does this really well (im about to ramble about my favorite episode alright i swear im going somewhere with this and that eventually my long analysis of it as well as my least fav one will be separate posts nothing to do w this but i need to talk about it)

the episode is "everything you do i can do it worse-er" and is Very good since it's basically tails and sonic having a bet on if sonic is actually impossible to catch since eggman is constantly failing and tails says that there has to be a way so might as well have a competition about it because that's really the most siblings thing to do

im not gonna get as excited as i want but. in order to make a good payoff, tails has to slowly try over and over to catch sonic (also duh because if not the episode would be over), learning from every mistake in what works and what doesn't, this also becomes really interesting because he knows sonic very well and can easily think of clever bases for ideas that can be a decent trap

so #1 is the chili dog one,where is a really obvious one at first glance, with the cage in plain sight and an obvious bait, but sonic takes it, falls into the secret pit and tails celebrates before sonic just gets out in a spindash and turns the tables on tails to make him end up in the cage. there he learns sonic is strong and needs to be caught off guard

where sonic finds one in his house and catches it and gets thrown into a succession of traps that lead him to a bamboo cage. but sadly, the process is too slow compared to sonics time perception so he realizes midway through the trap what's happening and gets out. there he realizes he should be caught off guard, but that should stay, he doesn't need a time to breathe or he would lose the bet

im not gonna write any every trap but in the one with knuckles he realizes he has some extent of easiness to be manipulated into helping or comforting tails. with Amy he realizes, even in the middle of his frustration, that he can actually use natural environment to his advantage. and with sticks, even if brief, it shows the audience that ultimately, any trap that involves sonic being on the ground is bound to fail.

(go watch the silly episode if you HAVEN'T because is really entertaining and the animation is dope bc is season 2 and i don't wanna spoil it more it's literally just 10 minutes im sure u can watch it because is really just a well written episode imo)

so what does he do with all this information? he puts it in use in a logic way in the final act where he eventually catches sonic! sure, tails learns a lesson in the story and all but the amount of satisfaction the last trap gives away, after seeing him fail so much and yet being able to find the most clever way of solving situations, it really shows how much he deserves the title of kid genius. because even if he can make machines his intelligence doesn't end there-unlike arguably eggman's does most of the time- so it even works as a way to characterize his intelligence, as well as perseverance and commitment to projects and also how much of a threat he could've been if he was in the wrong side.

and even if in some not-as-good chapters he's just there to do the "joke" of smart people needing to say nonsensical "smart" words that not even the writers care to understand just to sound smart to little kids. i do not like that. if boom tails of all shows can be used for that good characterization im pretty sure the more main storylines should acknowledge it at least Once

so back to his safety measures ignoring that the boom series (oh god minipisi shut up about boom we get it you like the show) made a joke about how lacking they are with the CHAINSAW IN THE CEILING (im never getting over that btw). we really need to think about how much tails could have himself hurt in his workshop. nevermind getting hurt fighting badniks and such that could be an entire separate thing btw.

like mainly i think about how his hands are. like yeah my boy uses gloves 24/7 as much as the next guy but considering how much hurt he could be those are most definitely not even close to his first pair

just picture how it would be that tails constantly has to replace his gloves because something happens while working. even more because those gloves are more likely made out of fabric, not in any way proper for crafting anything safely.

like my boy must get himself scars all the time or have his hands all wrecked by small things that he has accumulated over time but doesn't want anyone to know so he hides them and cures them himself until they heal but the scars are always there. he doesn't want to be a burden to anyone, specially sonic, so he just pretends he can do the impossible with no repercussions

also i believe it made him act purposely with an elevated ego for a while to cover his mistakes and insecurities YES I AM TALKING ABOUT THE PAPERCLIP LINE IN LOST WORLD OH MAN I HATE THAT LINE AND JUST WANT SOME EXCUSE FOR IT TO BE IN CHARACTER

but of course sonic himself is not stupid and even if tails is competent at hiding it you can't tell me he wouldn't find out and get all wrecked up by the entire concept of his little bro getting hurt and then he confront him and get some cool angst about it.

you know ive been thinking about this all day it is destroying me slowly because literally anything even remotely close to hurt - confort regarding these two is free real state for me

i got a few couple little ideas and mental images that i am too lazy to describe but they mainly need me to actually sit and draw them and that would take time

unless i actually drew them before even writing all of this checkmate procrastination

tbh this is Mainly something that first came to mind because i myself constantly get hurt for no particular reason im just that much of a dummy who fails to properly take precautions for stuff so for any silly or not reason i get scars. so i really wanted an excuse to give tails scars and i was about to write this as a haha funny joke headcanon but then i realized while writing that there was actual material and ideas that can contribute to it and ended up making several headcanons and I'm considering to do a fic so, good for me getting my hands all hurt ig?

obviously none of the places have any real lore grounded place i just gave him the scars and burns n such that i got and one or two more that make a bit of sense if i follow the scar logic

Making an Island for my new au...

I have 15 zones that need naming, and I've only named 2 so far. Hard!

The au itself is kind of... ok so I was watching this video rating all of 200+ Mlpfim episodes (still in the process), and I thought it would have been cool if we had a Sonic cartoon that was mostly slice of life, and only had the gang facing Eggman or some other major threat in the finale or premiere of a season.

So I decided to make an au! (It kinda lost the mlp vibe in the process though. But it's still supposed to be somewhat cutesy because the main characters are "the cute ones" in the cast)

I made a new Island for no reason other than so I could change it in whatever way I want.

So Amy, Tails and Cream would be the main characters there and they would all live on that island. Amy lives in a big city in the middle of it, Cream and her mom live in a small village and Tails has a lab etched into a cliffside in a secluded area.

The other major characters that live on the same island are the Chaotix. They live in the other major city on that island (it only has 2), but this city is a port city.

Everyone else is where they usually are in canon.

I also put a lot of more obscure characters from adaptations on that Island (none from any comics, but there is a Sally Acorn. She isn't based on Princess Sally, or Fleetway Sally, but on yet another versionof her). There's Sticks. There's Boom!Knuckles that I remade into a separate character. The Witchcarters will be there. I'll probably makensome ocs (but we'll get there when we'll get there)

But that's just the Island, it doesn't mean that the characters who don't live there will not he important to the au. (I just wanted to have a clear base setting that I can mold however I want)

I have some "episode" ideas, but I still need to jot them down.

Does Sega saying that they're “targeting high review scores” really mean anything? It's basic PR speak, and they've been saying that since Sonic 06 bombed with barely anything changing, to the point that they released crap like Sonic Boom. The one game that was considered higher than a six out of ten was made by contractors, and Sega did nothing to keep them around for the long run.

I mean, no, not really, they haven't been saying it. They've been trying to sell us games, sure. But you cite "since Sonic 06" and to me, the highlight of Sonic 06's marketing was specifically the phrase "going back to his roots." That's something Sonic Team said a lot. Like, a lot a lot. If you google "Sonic going back to his roots" you can find it being used for everything from Sonic Lost World to Sonic 4.

I remember it being particularly ironic with Sonic 06, because I think I first heard it used with Sonic Adventure 2, as a way to describe how that game was different from Sonic Adventure 1. See, they were going to make SA2 more like the Genesis games by getting rid of the hub world and simplifying the gameplay. Sonic 06 was basically Sonic Adventure 1-2, so for them to say it was "going back to his roots" felt dead stupid to me. The snake eating its own tail.

Anyway, like I said, I'm sure they've tried to convey that newer Sonic games were going to be better than the old games. That's just business. But they have never, actually, specifically said:

“We have set internal targets, as the correlation between the scores of external evaluation organizations and sales is high in Europe and North America,” [Sega Sammy's CEO Haruki Satomi said during an investor Q&A session]. “If the game gets a high score, it can become a must-buy game, and possibly generate synergy with sales, so we are currently working hard to improve the quality of the game toward its sales for the holiday season.”

What you're describing is PR. It's marketing. It's members of the press interviewing sales people and regurgitating hype intended to generate increased sales figures.

Investor earnings calls are not necessarily that. It can do that, sure, but generally it's a different vibe. Suits talking to suits about potential numbers. Not "We want you to buy our game" and more "This is our proven success and why you should give us extra funding."

You can't call a shot like that to investors and not back it up. Or you can, but I feel like it probably hurts the company a lot more.

The tone at Sega feels like it's starting to change. I mean Kishimoto is out there on Twitter talking to fans directly, something that has never, ever happened in the history of the Sonic franchise. Just today, Famitsu put up an article to celebrate the game's one-year anniversary, and in their interview with Kishimoto, he admits that The Final Horizon was intended to be their response to the PC modding community.

Look at it however you want, and maybe it will turn out to be bunk in the end, but at the very least, something about what they're doing is appreciably different.
