Welcome to the Sonic Fankid Showdown!!!

Where we make babies beat each other up with sticks!!!

This is the tournament we fanchild enjoyers have been waiting for! Sonic fankids put against each other to see who can beat the rest and get the victory!! All for FUN!!! Meaning that the only ones that will be fighting are the fictional characters that participate in the tournament (⁠｡⁠•̀⁠ᴗ⁠-⁠)⁠✧

RULES:

One character per person. This means that if you have twins, sadly you'll have to separate them 😔 The ONLY exception allowed to this rule is if your character has any pet, chao, wisp, etc. If that's the case then you can submit them as one.

Fankids derived from PRO-SHIPS are NOT be allowed to participate (this includes incest, inappropiate age gaps, etc). I'll be deciding what's appropiate or not (with the help of some people I trust), so what's already decided will NOT be discussed any longer.

Ship discourse is NOT allowed.

The last rule also means that the ONLY propaganda allowed is about the CHARACTER, and not the pairing they're inspired by. I do NOT want to see ANYONE fighting about ships.

Oc x Canon kids are allowed!! Go crazy with it people!!!

Any hate towards the characters and/or creators will NOT be allowed. If I see ANYONE sending hate I will block them! And if it's someone participating then their character will be disqualified. I want this to be a safe space, so be nice, everyone!!

I will be accepting submissions until May 18th.

The limit of submissions is 60, however the number of participants will depend on the number of submissions I actually get (it HAS to be an even number, so I'm sorry if anyone gets left out for that reason).

Ship they come from (if oc x canon then put '[canon character] x oc').

Short introduction to your kid.

Photo (transparent PNG is prefered).

Creator's URL (for proper crediting).

Canyon the Porcupine 🌌⚡️

A few 100 hours later and his reference is finished. o(-< Full bio under the cut.

General: Canyon | 104 cm (3'5") | Porcupine | Ionic Manipulation

Bio: He and other generations of survivors live on the Space Colony ARK in a reimagining of Silver’s post-apocalyptic future. He’s no ultimate life form, but he was created on the ARK along the same vein.

He’s the cornerstone of Project Canyon, as he was designed to be especially resistant to their world’s newfound hazards in an effort to reclaim the planet. He can manipulate plasma and chaos energy—the latter being thanks to the research that was rediscovered in the ARKs archives.

Canyon’s shoes pocket small vials called chaos shells, which are repurposed chaos drives, that he can energize to varying levels of volatility with his powers.

Team Zenith: Canyon, Comet, and Vox make up the reconnaissance members of Team Zenith (speed, flight, and power respectively). He’s emboldened by his title to be a good team leader.

Personality: He's a mellow and fierce character, who takes his position very seriously--often concerned with the future of everyone on the ARK--and is very distrustful of strangers.

Likes: High-speed/high-action training and pushing his limits; reading about the old world and his predecessor, Project Shadow; occasionally goofing around with his teammates.

Dislikes: time waisting; relying too much on others; the ARK's rations i.e. astronaut food.

Have you ever drawn a human jolt before? Or any human Sonic characters at all? I feel like maybe you have, but I can't remember.

I have! You can see the messy sketches for initial ideas of their gijinka forms here.

TBH these sketches are better as first passes, not a final design. IMO, humanized Sonic characters should utilize the initial influences that guided the overall sonic aesthetic creation so it still felt timeless and recognizable and not "humans wearing a sonic suit". Which is a really tall order and one I've not had time to attempt more seriously.

There was another pass from years back that was never posted (kinda forgot haha). Still not "it" but feels a bit better and was still fun to explore.

(Trying to not make their human forms look like Yu-Gi-Oh GX rejects is quite difficult.)

Anyways, I'm very excited to see everyone else kids!

I never really though much on what kind of ability Silho would posses but thinking about it, combining a being with super strength and a being who has the power to control chaos energy Girls gonna be something Awesome! I like the idea of her inheriting Amy's strength, she can use Chaos energy like Shadow but has difficulty controlling same goes for her strength so she relays on her hammer and focuses on transferring that chaos energy there I think it would make some neat attacks.
