3. Scars or painful spots

Joe has a lot of small scars from leading a shady life prior to law enforcement, but those marks aren't the ones that bother him. Instead, it's the slightly longer marks, though more faded, that unsettle him most. They appear on his shins, his thighs, his forearms and his back. They're the ones that were inflicted by the belt he now wears around his own waist. He's very self conscious about them and doesn't like to talk about it if he doesn't fully trust the person who asks.

Like that one scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark, if Joe is with a partner who he fully and completely trusts, he will open up and elaborate on the stories behind his scars. It makes him feel loved and that much closer to his SO if they take the time to soothingly kiss those scars.

Otherwise, he loves to be kissed down his chest. It's something about how his partner will look up through their eyelashes as they make their way further and further down his chest and abdomen that makes his heart thunder.

I kinda already touched upon his turn-ons in the NSFW alphabet ;) I'll say what flusters him in a general sense. Joe can be a little impatient. If he's out with someone or behind someone in a line and they take their sweet time making a decision, his firey Latino side comes out. His brow furrows and he grumbles some Spanish cusses under his breath. It's not so much against the person themselves, but rather a sense that he doesn't like to keep people waiting. He describes how he was a scrawny boy and a group of boys decided to shove him through a window one day. "Most of the cuts healed without leaving a mark, but this one," he tilts his chin upwards, "it serves as my reminder." Your heart goes out to him and how traumatizing that must have been for a young boy. But Sonny reassures you that he found his way past it and proceeds to hug you closer to his chest.

Sonny adores kisses to wherever you decide to plant them, but what really drives him wild is that spot below his ear where his jawline starts. It makes him completely melt and even more so if the kisses are trailed the rest of the way under his jaw and down his neck.

In an everyday sense, Sonny hates bullies. He can get short tempered with people who use others, who intentionally harm or manipulate others and especially when he recognizes it as mental (or physical) abuse. Working at SVU, he gradually got better at controlling those outbursts of disgust, but it still boils his blood on the inside.

In the NSFW sense, Sonny gets flustered by naughty talk and whenever you talk about wanting children with him. Naughty talk has to be private, i.e. whispered or texted so no one hears. Suggesting the various things you'd like to do to him or have him do to you, sets his imagination on fire. It riles him up to the point that he just can't wait to act out those naughty suggestions when he gets you alone and in bed.

Talk of kids also gets him flustered in a romantic sense. The fact that you want him out of all the other people on the planet still baffles him sometimes, then add in how you want him to be a dad and that Italian heart is all a flutter. Sometimes it can lead to "practice makes perfect for when the time is right" or "let's start right now" which ultimately ends up as very passionate yet affectionate sexy times.

I'm in love with the idea of dating Sonny Carisi. He seems to be such a sweetheart. The compliments, abit of flirting, trying to get him blushing, flowers, so chivalrous. The list goes on.

But once your at that relationship definition point, maybe working hours and difficulties making time for one another come up as an issue or just life stuff in general makes it feel like that early relationship bliss wear off. Any thoughts on how do you think Sonny would do?

I think sonny would:

-plan an all-day saturday date once he realizes it’s been a while since the two of you did something special. you would go to your favorite local coffee shop and pick up drinks and breakfast before continuing on to visit the zoo and then ending the day with a relaxing dinner at a new restaurant not far from you two that opened recently.

-he’d send you texts throughout the day again and always at the same time so you wonder if he set a reminder on his phone. things like “good morning, beautiful” and “hope work is going well today” or “I just passed this funky looking shop that we have to check out this weekend”.

-he’d come home with your favorite dessert for “an after dinner treat”

-one day, he’d come home with a jigsaw puzzle, a bottle of wine, and a wide grin on his face. “fancy an adventurous night in?” he’d say half-jokingly

-suggest a day trip. “hey doll, want to go to Cold Spring for half the day this weekend? you know I don’t love hiking, but it’s supposed to be great weather.”

that’s how today is going. it’s a miracle you managed to walk out on your own two feet, considering the bike that clipped you on the way in and tore your stockings to shreds, and that you look at all presentable after the coffee you spilled on your chest halfway through the day. you’ve gotten ten calls from your boss asking for ten different things and at five o’clock you’ve only done one of them, so, yeah. you think you’re getting fired.

and then he starts raining, and you smell like wet coffee because you forgot your umbrella, and by the time you get home you have tears in your eyes, and not for the first time that day. it’s been a long, long evening, and it’s not even until you try to unlock the door that you realize you’re not even at your apartment at all.

with a defeated sigh, the tears finally start falling. he won’t even be home for another couple of hours, and you don’t have any more cash for another cab, and it’s still raining outside —

it’s been a really, really bad day. which is why you wanted him. wanted to be at his. wanted to be curled up in a hoodie of his and a blanket that smelled like him. instead you’re sitting outside his door crying.

“hey, doll, you’re - why’re you at my apartment?”

“you don’t have to,” he murmurs, cupping your cheek. “christ, you’re freezin’.”

“i didn’t have an umbrella,” you admit, sniffling again. “really, sonny, it’s okay —“

“let’s get you out of these clothes.” it’s a voice that offers no room for argument, as he moves to lift you to your feet. “c’mon, up and at ‘em.”

“come inside. let me cook you something.”

and you’re melting even with the chill as he ushers your in. to a hoodie and a home-cooked meal. to a blanket that smells like him and a kiss that feels like him, too. to comfort and love and a good boyfriend after a really bad day.

Sonny Carisi HC question I'm desperately curious for your take on:

A P.S. interview from 2018 came across my Twitter feed again randomly. He said "I think there have been some pretty traumatic things that have happened to Carisi over the past couple seasons. I'd like to see how Carisi handles the emotional trauma of the job. Maybe that means he has a vice, maybe a secret. Who knows?" I mean wouldn't we all like to see that, buddy!?! Wouldn't we all!?! Aside from the criminal neglect of Sonny's inner life (or life outside the squad) and the fact that we NEVER get to see how he processes anything - but I digress and that's another post.....

What do you think that "secret" or "vice" would be?

If only we got to see more or that!

But anyways, I think Sonny is a family man through and through. It’s not always going home to his parents—sometimes, he’ll visit Bella and Tommy, or any of his family.

When he needs to be alone, though, I think he reads. I think the urge to leave reality behind for a little bit is enticing. I could also see him listening to an audio book while going out for a run or a workout.

·       who reaches out to new neighbors It’s a little combination of both. We all know Sonny’s super friendly and helpful, he’s definitely helped an old lady with groceries, (who in return bakes homemade cookies for you), grabbed an escaped dog/cat to their owner.

·       who remembers to buy healthy food Sonny, he’s obviously the one who does majority of the cooking, he does most of the grocery shopping in general.

·       who remembers to buy junk food Also Sonny, again, most of the shopping is him, or he writes out a list for you if you have more time. You’re definitely the one who stops at the Bodega for chips/candy though.

·       who makes the coffee Whoever gets to the kitchen first, usually you. Sonny likes to shower in the mornings whereas you shower before bed, leaving your mornings usually a little more free.

We all know Sonny’s a good cook, on weekends/days off he’s definitely going to cook a lavish breakfast for the two of you, teasing you at the memory of the time you nearly destroyed the waffle maker. It took four heavy scrubbings to get the burnt batter off.

·       how do they let each other know they’re leaving the house There’s always some kind of small kiss, no matter how busy the other person is/what they’re doing.

·       how do they greet each other when one of them gets home Sonny always calls out into the apartment that he’s home (unless it’s late and you’re in bed already), greeting you with a smiling kiss. When he’s home first he’s usually already cooking by the time you get home, you like to snuggle up against his back, wrapping your arms around him and holding him still until he chuckles, turning in your arms and plopping a kiss to your hair.

·       who brings home little gifts like flowers/chocolates more often Sonny. He loves to dote on you, even if it’s just something as little as your favourite candy bar, he adores the way your face lights up in glee when he presents it to you.

·       who picks the movie for movie night Usually you, you’re the movie buff out of the two of you, but you always give him a selection of 2-3 to pick between day of.

·       their favorite kind of movie to watch You usually like comedies, though Sonny has a soft spot for rom-coms. He grew up with three sisters, he’s got a soft side that shines through when you’re around.

·       who first suggests a pillow fort You jokingly say something about it, laughing at the way Sonny’s face lights up and immediately bounds off the couch to grab every blanket he can find.

·       who builds the pillow fort He obviously starts off, dragging you into it, and honestly, you’re having a blast of a time. Sonny definitely uses his height as an advantage to pin up blankets and by the end of it your entire living room is transformed into the most wicked fort you’ve ever seen. It stays up all weekend, the two of you lounging in while binge watching movies/tv, snuggled up against each other.

·       who tries to distract the other during the movie Sonny can’t help himself from trailing patterns across your skin, he just needs to be touching you as often as he can, even if it’s just innocently. You do your best to keep focussed on the screen, but it doesn’t take long for goosebumps to turn into shivers, and it isn’t long before your grinding back against him and the movie’s completely forgotten (especially that weekend in the blanket fort)

·       who falls asleep first Usually you, but if it’s been a stressful week with way too much OT, Sonny passes out the second his head hits the pillow.

·       who is big spoon/little spoon Listen, Sonny is literally the lankiest, tallest bean, there’s no doubt in my mind that he’s wrapping you tightly into his arms, burying his head into your neck, smiling as the smell of your shampoo invades his nostrils.

For weeks Sonny has been dropping these casual little "I love yous" to Amanda.

They're quiet and at extremely random times. Like after she finishes brushing her teeth or after she gets a soda out of the fridge or after she takes her socks off at the end of the day.

All these little "I love yous" are barely audible and Sonny doesn't expect Amanda to return it, he just feels like saying it. He just feels the need to say it himself...over and over and over...

Until one day, while she's hopping around trying to slip into her shoes, Sonny whispers out another little "I love you" and Amanda, frustrated, turns around and belts out "I LOVE YOU TOO, OKAY?!!" before leaving for work.

Who despite initial impressions is absolutely lovely and too good to be true. Maybe it starts as a friendship developing into something more with ADA Carisi.

man, sonny would be the best person to befriend if you just moved to NYC. I picture:

-offering to meet you at the farmer’s market on the weekend. he takes you to his favorite cheese vendor and shows you which baked goods vendor is the best and which one to avoid. on a whim, he buys you a bouquet of farm fresh tulips “just for something bright for your apartment.” he doesn’t make a big deal out of it, talking about his mom’s flower garden and waving his arms around the entire time.

-inviting everyone in the squad for an after work drink, but you’re the only one free as everyone else has kids or a partner to get home to. since it’s just you two, he asks if you’re up for checking out a place that isn’t super close to the squad room, but has perfect tapas specials to go along with great drinks. along the way, he tells you about how hard it was during his first several months at SVU. “you’ve got a knack for talking to victims, though,” he says off hand as you dodge an enthusiastic group on the sidewalk. “you’re a natural and you’ll fit right in.”

-him picking up your coffee order on his way back in to the squad room after viewing a recent crime scene. “figured you could use a pick me up.” fin asks where his is and you bury your smile in your drink.

-having a tough case that you can see is really weighing on sonny. you both leave at the same time and now it’s your turn to extend the kindness he’d given you over the last several weeks. you ask if he’s up for going for a long walk along the Highline since you hadn’t been yet. he smiles gratefully and as the elevator doors close, he’s listing places to pick up dinner on your way.

Your wish is our command! Live straight from two different time zones, @pascalispretty and I present a few newly minted hc's for the Rafael Barba x Sonny Carisi x Frederick Chilton x Reader Mafia AU.

--Sonny is ready to start settling down and really, since there's not that much that Rafa won't do for Sonny, Rafa decides to put together a little family for him. 

--Rafa is the one who meets her first. He spots her at his club and decides to introduce himself. Flirts a little, lots of jokes about how he 'knows the owner', etc. Rafa kisses her that first night. He gets her full name off her credit card receipt the next morning and then has to use his nefarious resources to get her number and everything else about her. He finally admits to owning the club where they met when he manages to find her and ask her out the first time.

--Rafa’s pretty sure Fred and Sonny are going to like her. Rafa brags to Sonny that he's found them all someone to settle down with as soon as he has her full name and phone number. He’s completely convinced that he's going to be able to win her over, totally convinced of his own judgment of character and his ability to herd these three very different personalities into a loving domesticated relationship. Rafa knows it'll take a while for Fred and Sonny to be talked into the idea of even meeting her. He wants the whole process started as soon as possible and both of them are definitely going to want to do their own independent research on her. 

--Rafa likes her and has decided that she’s the one and definitely tries to fuck her on their first actual date. Ends up getting called away for something at the end of it (this may or may not be something Fred completely invents from whole cloth), but finds her the next afternoon, fucks her, and sets up a second date. Literally finishes fucking her and asks if he’s made it up enough to her for her to go out with him again.

--Rafa brings up Sonny and Fred on the second date. He wants this to happen so he’s as honest as he can be as fast as he can be so he can get this started quickly. “I’m a crime boss, and I regularly fuck my right hand man and my head of security, and I want to settle down into a more domestic arrangement with the three of you.” She definitely thinks it’s a joke at first.

--She meets Sonny next. And the meeting is…Civil. Very, very civil. Rafa sets them up on a date and she’s not super convinced about this foursome thing and Sonny’s not super convinced about bringing in a civilian. It’s stilted and very obviously polite. 

--Rafa’s slept with her more than a few times by now, Sonny’s been on a couple dates and has slightly gotten beyond his initial Uber Politeness. (Sonny likes her but he’s withholding ultimate judgment until Fred finishes his checks.) Sonny kissed her but won’t sleep with her until Fred also gives her the all clear. 

--Fred gets Sonny’s in depth assessment of her (a slightly more unbiased one than Rafa’s.)

--Fred has to finally, reluctantly, admit that the only danger she possesses is if she blabs to someone and there is no way to predict that. So he finally agrees to actually meet her. Rafa goes with him for the first ‘date’ just to referee what he’s sure will be a frosty and reluctantly polite introduction. It doesn’t matter to Fred that Sonny and Rafa like her, she’s still An Outsider and Fred is predisposed not to. 

--Rafa has prepared her for Fred’s… moods. And thus when she is unfazed by his attitude Fred gets pissy and then later reluctantly impressed. Not enough to be more than marginally nicer the next time but that’s still progress. Fred, being the insecure little jerk that he is, is a little miffed that Rafa wants to add another person to this in the first place and that’s going to take some time to change.

--It takes probably close to two months of relatively frequent contact for him to warm up to the idea of her in their lives. No matter how many of her attributes he admires, she still isn’t one of them. Even as he accepts her into their weird little family there’s always the thought in the back of his mind that she’s going to cut and run at the first sight of the more dangerous and bloody aspects of their line of work. It takes probably close to a year, and multiple examples of her not doing that, for him to really 100% start to trust her.
