Riko looked up at the dark night sky. He knew there were stars up there, but the lights of the city made them impossible to see. He returned to the position he’d been laying in, facing the railing looking down through the gap allowing rain water to fall down, watching the cars and the yellow lights of the street lanterns below.

“Hello, this is the Suicide Hotline. What is your name?”

Riko.

The name died on his lips, he didn’t want anyone to know, “Danny,” he said with a sudden pang of anxiety, expecting a slap across the face for lying.

“Hello Danny, my name is Jake. Where are you right now?”

“I’m home,” another lie, “I’m sitting on the balcony,” a third one.

He's laying down on his side ready to sleep out here. Anytime he slept inside the thick moldy air of the apartment threatened to suffocate him. The complaints of his bones forced to rest on hard tiles were easier to ignore than his suffocating lungs.

“How are you feeling right now?”

“Pathetic, I am alone. It’s been like this for years.”

On the LRP and SOP, Part 3

Part 1 here. Part 2 here.

In the first part of this topic, I went over the general structures of the Lesser Rituals of the Pentagram and the Sphere of Protection.

In the second part, I dissected and compared these rituals to begin the process of adapting it for your own religious tradition.

In this part, we're putting it all together. I'll skip over explaining each and every part and instead just give you the adapted ritual.

SECTION 1: THE ALIGNMENT

Stand facing East. Hold your dagger or wand in your dominant hand.

Imagine a ray of brilliant light descending from the eternal space above your head. Catch it with your tool and bring it to your forehead.

Say: "Father Zeus, who dwells on Olympus"

Pull the energy down with your tool and let it pass through your feet.

Say: "Grant us thy holy wisdom".

Tap your right shoulder with your tool. Imagine the energy pushing out to infinity through your right shoulder.

Say: "For you are all seeing,"

Tap your left shoulder with your tool. Imagine the energy pushing out to infinity through your left shoulder.

Say: "For you are all knowing,"

Extend your arms out sideways, matching them against the beams of light. Imagine two more beams of light, one extending forward from your center, and one backward.

Say: "Deathless, and eternal."

Clasp your hands together in prayer. Let the light fade.

Say: "Hail and blessed be."

SECTION 2: THE PENTAGRAMS

Hold your dagger or wand in your dominant hand.

Draw a Banishing Pentagram of Earth before you in the East. Take a step forward, pushing a beam of energy out from the center of the Pentagram into infinity.

Say: "Aegiochos,"

Take that step back and drop your arms.

Touch the center of the Pentagram with your tool, where you pushed out the beam. Pull the energy from that point with you as you trace a quarter-circle to the South.

Draw a Banishing Pentagram of Earth before you in the South. Take a step forward, pushing a beam of energy out from the center of the Pentagram into infinity.

Say: "Olympios,"

Take that step back and drop your arms.

Touch the center of the Pentagram with your tool, where you pushed out the beam. Pull the energy from that point with you as you trace a quarter-circle to the West.

Draw a Banishing Pentagram of Earth before you in the West. Take a step forward, pushing a beam of energy out from the center of the Pentagram into infinity.

Say: "Areius,"

Take that step back and drop your arms.

Touch the center of the Pentagram with your tool, where you pushed out the beam. Pull the energy from that point with you as you trace a quarter-circle to the North.

Draw a Banishing Pentagram of Earth before you in the North. Take a step forward, pushing a beam of energy out from the center of the Pentagram into infinity.

Say: "Meilikhios,"

Take that step back and drop your arms.

Touch the center of the Pentagram with your tool, where you pushed out the beam. Pull the energy from that point with you as you trace a quarter-circle to the East.

Draw a Banishing Pentagram of Earth above you. Push the energy upwards like you did with the other pentagrams.

Say "Ktesios,"

Drop your arms.

Draw a Banishing Pentagram of Earth below you. Push the energy downwards like you did with the other pentagrams.

Say "Herkeios."

Stand up straight once again. Reach up to the Pentagram above you and touch the center point. Bring the energy down to the Eastern Pentagram, down to the Pentagram below you (you may turn as you do this), up to the Western Pentagram, then back up to the Pentagram above you.

Repeat this, but go North to South this time.

You should have six pentagrams; all six are connected by a circular frame of light. At the center of each pentagram, a beam of light extends out into infinity.

SECTION 3: THE ELEMENTS

Face East. Clasp your hands in prayer. Imagine the alchemical symbol of Air before you, surrounding the space with its energy.

Say: "Aéras," (air)

Imagine the alchemical symbol of Water behind you, surrounding the space with its energy.

Say "Neró," (water)

Imagine the alchemical symbol of Fire to your right, surrounding the space with its energy.

Say "Fotiá," (fire)

Imagine the alchemical symbol of Earth to your left, surrounding the space with its energy.

Say "Gi," (earth)

Imagine a circle above your head, surrounding the space with positively charged energy.

Say: "Páno apó," (above)

Imagine a square beneath your feet, surrounding the space with negatively charged (read: grounding, not bad) energy.

Say: "Parakáto." (below)

SECTION 4: REALIGNMENT

Face East. Stand in the center of this sacred space for a few moments. Allow the energy of the Pentagrams to fill the sphere. Let your energy intermingle with that of the sacred space and find your equilibrium.

Once you find it, let the Pentagrams and the connecting/extending beams of energy fade.

Imagine a ray of brilliant light descending from the eternal space above your head. Catch it with your tool and bring it to your forehead.

And that's the whole ritual. You could call this a Modern Hellenic Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. You could substitute the Banishing Pentagrams for Invoking ones and you'd have the Invoking Ritual of the Pentagram.

But look, it's not perfect. It's honestly a first or second draft of a ritual. I'd like to vary the prayer between the first and second Alignments, I'd like to explore the difference between using epithets and deities for each of the Pentagrams; I'd even like to experiment with a Greek concept of the One Above All.

Please don't take this as gospel. This is just an example of how you could adapt a ritual for your own path. If you give this one a try, I highly encourage adapting it as you go and sharing your results! We learn best from each other.
