pino becoming human hcs!!

a/n: just as the title says, this will be about p as he starts to become human!! this may very well turn into a multiple part thing bc there's so much i can come up with for this lol!!! this is my first time writing lop headcanons so feedback is greatly appreciated!!

besides the programmed need to eradicate other puppets, i don't think p really felt much of anything the first couple days of his life. tbh? i don't even think he would've had it in him to lie about anything, despite having the ability to. there was no reason for him to do such a humanly act.

however, after being told he needed to lie in order to get into hotel krat, he felt his first inkling of what it meant to be human.

this sparked a desire in p. what worsened it was the curiosity he felt upon seeing the few humans left in krat.

what did it mean to be human?

p didn't realize it for a while that all his lying would land him in a situation that would geniunely change his life forever. he just liked the feeling.

but as time went on, it was becoming increasingly obvious to everyone around him that pinocchio was turning into a real boy!!

the first obvious humanly trait p was demonstrating was grunting.

when p was fully a puppet, no noise came out of him except the sounds of metal inside his body.

but as he was starting to change, p would grunt while he was fighting or if he was just acknowledging someone who was talking to him.

nobody ever taught him this... it just felt natural.

after that, p stopped twitching.

his movements became much more fluid and humanly. physically, it was becoming increasingly harder to decipher if p was human or not.

on top of that, p was becoming a lot more self aware.

before, p would often struggle with his strength. he didn't know exactly how strong his was, and often times shaking hands with others would result in broken fingers.

p wasn't a mean boy puppet by any means, he just didn't understand how fragile humans were.

while he still retained his strength (or gained even more of it through sophia), now he was able to gain the ability to be gentle physically with others.

speaking of being gentle, p became an all around gentle boy.

eventually, p gained the ability to speak in full sentences and boooy was he soft spoken.

that wasn't the most surprising part, though. the most surprising part was how deep his voice was (think along the lines of felix from stray kids).

everyone in the hotel basically had their jaws on the floor upon hearing him.

btw his first word was "blood". poor thing...

in the beginning stages of p talking, it was really just him pointing to things and saying outloud what it was.

but after he gained the ability to speak in full sentences, he still was never much of a talker. he always opted to take a much more physical route for everything.

ie: if he needed someone to go with him, instead of asking, he would just take their hand and drag them to wherever he needed them.

before you found out the baby’s gender, everyone started making bets (it started by steve saying he knew it was a girl because of something he read in a parenting book about the way you were carrying)

(yes, steve buys parenting books. although a lot of the time he disagrees with what the books say to do so,, what’s the point of buying them?)

it was eddie’s turn to go to your appointment with you and he got so excited when he found out you were having a girl !!!

PINO,RED FOX AND VENIGNI DATING HEADCANONS

-You met Pino in a very old-fashioned way. Him saving you from peril.

He would take you to the hotel just to be sure. Krat's streets are not safe.

-Pino starts to feel weird around you and wants you to know about it. He asks his father, then Sophia. Everyone gives him the same answers.

He might be in love, a human emotion. He decides to go for it. Hence, he tries to confess with a heart shaped paper.

-A relationship with Pino is possible but not an easy one. The poor puppet is still adjusting to his cogs moving in a weird way around you, but he finds the sensation pleasant.

-You met the Fox while running with something you stole from the Black Rabbits. She watched you try to find a place to hide in the streets of Malum District. Before it could be too late she got you out of trouble.

-You often bumped into her, and she seemed to flirt a little with you. It became more obvious with time, and it flustered you a bit.

Eventually, she got to your heart.

-Being with the Fox is fun. She's got a playful personality and you can both provide and indulge in a little bit of vanity with your ability to steal and bribe.

Of course, Cat is always by your side as well, making sure you are ok.

-The two of you met at the Hotel. You found refuge there thanks to Antonia. Lorenzini joined a bit later. You immediately recognized him as that famous Venigni:The owner of the factory and he seemed pleased you knew about him.

-The man courted you in the old-fashioned way. He was a pleasant figure to have around, and he made your heart throb easily. If he could, he would spoil you but right now lavish gifs were out the picture. You were ok with it. The heart was more important.

-You found a true Gentleman in Venigni;one who took the act of service to heart. He was a very affectionate lover;he probably talks to much but you could stop him with a kiss, leaving him a bit flustered.

If you're having rather bad anxiety, she'll prepare you calming tea like chamomile or lavender tea and settle you on a comfortable sofa or loveseat, tucking blankets and pillows around you as if she were a little bluebird.

She'll happily sit with you and talk about your worries, holding your hand and soothing comforting shapes into your palm. You're very precious to her, as she's always there for you.

~ you'll catch her looking at you sometimes, and when she notices she'll get a little flustered and look away quickly with a pink face. Please don't tease her too much, she'll attempt to stay as composed and full of grace as possible but there's only so much she can take before she stumbles over her words. You're just very wonderful to her, she likes looking at you. It brings her peace.

~ often having butterflies fluttering around you at random times. If you're out of the hotel and cautiously making your way through Krat, a butterfly or two will accompany you. It's her way of keeping an eye on you.

~ often, Sophia will have a deep solemness in her eyes. Her shoulders are shriveled beneath her coat, and her head slumped tiredly to her chest.

She'll never express why she is so sad, but if you were to sit and simply hold her in comfortable silence, it is more than she can ask for. She may tuck her head against yours (either leaning down or craning her neck up, it doesn't matter) and simply sit with your warmth seeping into her.

She'll practically melt if you were to hold her to your chest and stroke her hair. Her body will tense, before surrendering immediately to your touch and lay limp against you. Just don't acknowledge the tears wetting your clothing, and she'll lay contently with you for hours.

I saw your post regarding the Self-Aware R1999!AU and it was good and mind-blowing! Now I'm wondering how will it go with 6 or 37 regaining consciousness, considering that they're always seeking for the "truth", and maybe the Reader's existence would heighten the quest for the truth more!

I RECENTLY FINISHED 6'S ANECDOTE, SO NOW I HAVE A LOT OF THOUGHTS THIS ASK IS A GREAT EXERCISE TO GET THE BRAIN GOING o7

this post only contains 37, since it got a little long and I didn't know how to format it the usual way because I LOVE rambling and rambling. I think there's another ask somewhere about 6 in the self-aware AU, so I'll get to that one soon!

also I think this post is impossible to read if you haven't read chapter 5 at least, bc I use a lot of the terms used in Apeiron!

37 is such an interesting character. Okay okay, bear with me for a bit while I get all of my 37 thoughts out of my brain!

I feel like people downplay how cruel or detached she can be. Because of her innate ability to see numbers in everyone and everything, essentially seeing "the truth" and being able to provide Proof to support her claims, 37 lives disconnected from her entire community while also being upheld as a genius and beacon of progress. She's the "Star of Hermes," after all.

A lot of her character focuses on this alienation and "othering," how her mindset and beliefs set her apart from others as she cannot understand the importance of soul numbers from an emotional standpoint--like she says in the main story, she's always known she's 37. Everyone's known this. And she does not understand the importance of knowing WHY she's 37. She doesn't care about the traits assigned to each number, that is meaningless rhetoric to her, what matters is the final result. She's 37, and that's it. She upholds the purity of numbers, practically worships this pure aspect of the world of Forms. She's at her happiest when she talks about how numbers will always be numbers, no matter who tries to figure them out, or when or how.

And we also see the cruel aspect of her that I believe people overlook--37 admits that she enjoys revealing people's numbers because she wants to be the first to prove this truth. It's only near the end of Chapter 05 that she wonders, if only briefly, whether being the first to prove someone's number means that she knew the truth better. Other than that, she has absolutely NO trouble revealing Vertin's number, nor attempting to tell Sophia her own number as kids--and 37, while she does not care for the rhetoric of numbers and their assigned virtues, knows how much the journey of self-discovery means to her entire community. And she still chose to do this, because she does not see the value in the process.

This isn't to say that she's exclusively a cruel character nor a misguided little baby, I would say that she's cruel the same way a child can be--37 is a very lovely and complex character! I just think people take her cute appearance at face value and forget the extent of her abilities and her perception of the world.

In the context of a Self-Aware AU, I believe that this self-awareness would be recontextualized as yet another eternal truth for her. Her curiosity wouldn't be applied to this, because there is nothing to figure out--the world has always been a game, that's it. Instead of focusing on the emotional or existential aspects, 37 would focus instead on the "guidelines" that rule this fake world.

It would revolve around the mechanical aspects: she understands that every fight follows a set pattern, as this is a turn based combat game. She wants to know why some people stand out, why they're assigned as 6 or 5 or 4 or 3 or 2 stars. Why not a 1 star? Why not 10? Why this system in particular? Why doesn't Sophia have any stars? Is it because she hasn't figured out her number yet? No, that can't be, because 210 also lacks stars. And so on and so forth.

The focus will still be numbers, so she would be the perfect assistant for Players who care a lot about meta!

I'm also willing to say that 37 would be one of the very few characters who has no trouble at all coping with the fact that she's a character in a videogame. To know that she's a bunch of "code" wouldn't change a thing for her, because she was already 37 in the first place!

There is also the aspect of finding out that her mother's death (as well as Sophia's father) was scripted. I'm going on a long tangent here, so bear with me for a second.

I feel like... 37 would see that as a positive thing? First of all, we know that the death of everyone in that boat was caused because of a miscalculation from Sophia and 37's part, which is the catalyst for 37's Emanation research. I do believe that, even though 37 shows little to no (conventional) emotion in that specific moment, she still grieves and mourns in her own way--and the way she does that is by clinging onto the one thing that is left of her mother: her pneuma analysis and research, the computer that stopped working, the pattern of the "Storm". We are told that 37 became a recluse, isolating herself even more from her community, when her and her mother's research was proven to be wrong, that she only came out of her lab when Vertin and her team arrived. We see her muttering while unconscious in the cave with Vertin, calling out for her own mother and telling her that their research wasn't wrong, that they were right all along (because they were missing one vital piece of information that only an outsider like Vertin could deliver).

Second of all, we know that 37 does not understand nor care about fate, she does not care for wordplay that muddies the true essence of numbers. So she would not think that the death of all those people can be attributed to something as vague and nonsensical as "fate."

Third and final point of this tangent, 37 does not like to be proven wrong. Or rather, 6's character event shows us that, no matter what she's told or how she behaves, 37 will always believe that she's in the right.

With all of this in mind, I think that finding out that this accident was something scripted--that is to say, part of the "truth" (or canon, from our perspective) of this world--would reinforce 37's beliefs. This miscalculation was a mistake born from her former self, the 37 that did not truly understand the world, before she achieved self-awareness. And now that she's wide awake, there's no way that she could ever make a mistake like that ever again. If else, I can see her being mildly irritated that it took her this long to open her eyes, struggling with the fact that she's not the first person to become self-aware. And just like she casually reveals other people's numbers, she would dangle the knowledge of self-awareness in front of others instead of keeping it secret.

On the subject of finding out about the Player, I'm not quite sure how 37 would react. Sure, 37's life is ruled by the same dogma that rules everyone else within Apeiron, but her approach is devoid of that same spiritual and religious devotion that others like 210 carry. Like we see in 6's character event, 37 does not care about the importance of the number 6 nor whoever holds the title, because the "truth" is that everyone within that bloodline is going to inherit the title at some point or another. Compare this to 210, who treats the previous 6 (Atticus' aunt, Alma) with such reverence.

So perhaps that's how 37 would act, then? This "divine" figure is yet another 6 for her, someone who has all relevant knowledge, nothing more and nothing less.

I like to think that 37 is able to see the Player very clearly right away, the same way she can see people's numbers, whereas 6 is the one who can hear them clearly, the same way he inherits the Revelation from his ancestors.

And unless you're another super math genius like her, I can absolutely see 37 pouting about it. How come someone like you gets to be "outside" in the world of Forms? Maybe she becomes curious about finding "proof" of your world, to confirm whether you live in the world of Forms or something else entirely, perhaps yet another world of Matters, full of Fragments. Realizing that the world the Player lives in is practically identical to her own--minus the existence of integers and fractions, just a world full of imaginary numbers--would be a curious experience for 37.

I can also see 37 telling Vertin the Player's own soul number the moment she figures it out, perhaps as a way to repay the favour for the events of Chapter 05. Assuming she survives that bomb, I actually don't know what happens in Chapter 06 LMFAO....

Long story short, not many would realize that 37 has become self-aware, since her behaviour remains largely the same. And it wouldn't affect her as deeply as it affects other characters.

I mentioned it before (At least I think so), but Sophia is a good example for having the right to be selfish.

Hear me out. When she tells us that she woke up P for her own sake, because she wanted to be freed, I first felt kinda shocked and disappointed (totally silly in the end). What do you mean you did it for yourself? :( *slaps past me*

But here comes to thing. It was her right so be selfish, since it also meant saving everyone else. Sophia was Simon's source of power. She was the person who collected the ergo for him through her powers, making the experiments possible in the first place while also suffering from him doing his best to strength her powers and maybe even keep her alive (this part is mostly a headcanon of mine, since it looked like she was bound to a machine... And I honestly don't think she would have survived such treatment for such a long time).

Sophia was the source of the carcass and mutations, so saving her was the first stop to end one of Krat's nightmares.

Anyway, that alone is one good reason in my opinion to show that her wanting to be saved in the first place was totally deserved. Also... Yeah she knew that she needed P to become stronger to save her, to collect Ergo and other things (to be able to get to her). But while he did that she also reminded him of the people, that he should help them and she reminded him about doing things for himself. Sophia supported P in his journey and his changes. She probably would have been able to get him faster to her, but no, she took her time for everyone's sake.

This post is probably unnecessary (and has a lot of error ughhh), but I really wanted to talk about this since I am still amazed about her role. Also, sweet reminder... Her wanting help in the end is pretty much a reference to the Blue Fairy in the book getting really sick and poor needing Pinocchio's help, which ended up not just saving her. Oh no, it was also the last step to get his humanity.

And we all know what we needed to do to get the 'Rise of P'-Ending... Our true humanity.

Lies of P

Pinocchio own headcanons.

• I kind of imagine that P is a very curious puppet (like a player in game exploring) and he would always bring something back to the hotel Krat after mission and Gepetto would see his son piling up things on his table. A broken doll in a red dress. A small piece of screw that shines so brightly like it was newly made. A cowboy hat which Gepetto wonders where did he get it and small few jewels which resembles Gemini's color and his eyes. However, P has been collecting so many things and piling it up on Gepetto's table, forced the old man to get a chest for P to put his treasure (mostly junks) inside.

• P doesn't seem to talk in game but characters in game acts as if so I think, P doesn't usually talk. He only talks when spoken too like an actual puppet with corresponding lines but P can make his own replies and he chooses a word or sentence that would only be a brief response. Gemini once tried to make the boy talk more than he usually does by striking conversation and question but it seems like P got annoyed that he eventually ignored Gemini for the whole mission (still listening to Gemini at least)

• despite he had fought big monsters and big hostile machines, P is afraid of cats at first. When he was curious and tried to touch the feline, it launched its claws to his hand and hissed which caused him to startle. Confused and unable to comprehend what happened, it feared the small creature temporarily as Eugene showed him that cats aren't terrifying creature. Although sensitive, cats are surprisingly affectionate in their own way. But he wishes that the cats would at least trust him and let him touch their soft fur.

• P is fascinated by his own limbs. How it bends and straighten. How his arms are able to move in rotation motion and how his fingers folds in a curl. Gemini taught him how to make a heart but unable to understand as it is not the shape of a heart (he thought literal shape of a heart) and Gemini had to go through explaining him how it is a heart. Then Gepetto gave P a show where he'd use shadow of his hands to imitate the silhouettes of animals. P was amused.

• P purrs. Or so what it sounds like. His springs inside make a sound when he feels pleasant, comfortable at certain someone or simply enjoying the pat on the head from Gepetto. They thought that spring sound is only natural but they don't mostly hear it when P feels neutral till Sophia noticed how the springs started to shift inside him when Sophia and P sat down together to enjoy the rain at the garden.

"Oh my, you sound like you're purring, oh clever one" and then smiled. P doesn't know what it means but kept quiet as the spring sound continues. Sophia thinks that he must have gotten it from the cats as he observed them without touching.

As for P's situation, he does feel warm inside or what he would try to describe it as best as he can. He also feel a small vibration inside. Only vibration and nothing else that is worrying so he lets it without telling Gepetto or Eugene.

• Puppets don't need rest however, P started to like his leisure time. He have no mission? He would stay in Hotel Krat and sit down simply and enjoy the structure of the interior. He would explore the Hotel and look at the painting. Check some corridors he hadn't seen yet. He would also look at the cats. Sits in front of them and simply observe them with a small smile which Eugene found adorable feature from the puppet.

After a mission, he wouldn't go back to the Hotel Krat immediately. He will take his time to go back there. Walking in the alley, roadside, other paths and trying to picture the place before the puppet frenzy had happened. He would ask Gemini about the buildings and structures about what it used to be.

• Missions can get P really dirty. He don't sweat but the muds and dirty water can get to his boots, clothes and skin including his hair so whenever he gets back to the hotel Krat, he is adviced by Gemini to go straight to bath immediately.

P can also feel temperature and he likes the coldness of the clean water. He would always let the cold water run and get into the tub willingly. Gepetto had once reminded P not to use too cold water and don't stay too long there to protect his P-organs from freezing. But P can be act like a child still and insists on using even colder temperature to test how he can go on until it actually happens. Almost freezing his P-organs and thanks to Gemini to call out for Gepetto which saved P from freezing all over.

P got a lot of scolding from Gepetto and after that incident, Gepetto would check on him if his staying longer in bath and sometimes would come in and help P to wash his hair thoroughly from the dirt that is in blindspots.

monster characters i know are jewish :

lotte is jewish because she has so much in common with me so one more thing won't make a difference. also i love her so much so why not.

leichwein/reichwein (i use the first option because of the french dub, by the way) is jewish because i love him (he's my top 0 character in monster which means he doesn't even need to be in any ranking) and i love father figures characters so i decided he's a jewish grandpa because the "old jewish man™" vibes are there !! also his name may be german but it got jewish vibes to me, as a non-german obviously. i like to think there's a menorah in his house as well as a mezouzah.

runge/lunge is jewish TO ME !! tbh i don't headcanon him as jewish that seriously because he feels very "german white man" BUT i really love him so he's a german jewish man now (very secular tho, obviously).

karl is jewish and like that's the most sure i am with (r/l)eichwein. but my headcanon is a bit complicated so bear with me. so, to me he is jewish but by adoption because both schuwald and helenka nováková don't feel jewish to me (helenka feels more jewish than schuwald though). but "neumann" is a common ashkenazi jewish name, especially among german or yiddish speaking communities. and the neumann couple, who are very cute btw, have old jewish couple vibes. also i feel like karl has lebanese vibes (i extrapolate in the tags) to me, and as a girl of lebanese jewish descent, some lebanese people are honorary jewish (ex. : tony shalhoub).

also i like to think mr. rosso as italian jewish because why not ? i love mediterranean jews + what i said about leichwein/reichwein.

same thing for the fortner couple. the difference is that i don't headcanon them and rosso that much as jewish.

My Lies of P head canon: P slowly learns to speak as the game progresses. First its just grunts and exclamations in combat. But then he slowly uses like one or two words at the hotel. And suddenly all the companions help him learn how to talk!

Antonia reads him books in the library.

Euguenie teaches him the names for the part of every weapon.

Lorenzini adjusts his voice box and make sure it’s in good condition.

Sophia applauds every new word P brings her.

The only one not enthusiastic is Geppetto. Because sadly, P’s voice doesn’t sound like his son’s.

That does fit that I noticed that the further in the game you get the more “human” like sounds P makes… he’s near silent at the beginning of the game. Near the end he’s panting, making pained noises, etc

Except later, he heard them giggling at their own joke. Oh, haha! You got him, Farmer. Being their husband - Victor takes it even further: he asks Sophia for her pink hair dye (but one that can be easily washed out), and applies it to his hair. When Farmer starts making comments about Victor's new look, he'll do with a sly smile what Farmer did back then - pretend that "it's his natural colour, what's Farmer talking about?" Wouldn't mind teaming up with Farmer and pranking others too. Until Olivia catches Victor and Farmer with a rather unusual hair colour, advising them to see a stylist (or Emily) next time.

Magnus Rasmodius:

Magnus nearly had a stroke for a moment because the "dyeing hair that never washed out" situation is one of the reasons he found out about his biological daughter, but immediately the wizard would realise that there's simply no way he could have a second unplanned child. Besides, Farmer's playful tone (and Morgan's giggling in the background) immediately let him know that Farmer was just messing with him. For which, incidentally, they get a not-strong slap upside the head from Magnus and a stern look. If Rasmodius is Farmer's date/husband, he will simply roll his eyes at his lover's silly prank. He may even quietly cast a spell to change Farmer's hair colour to another equally wild colour, pretending he doesn't know what happened. Magnus will then put everything back the way it was, don't worry. These pranks, unlike Camilla's, are harmless, so Magnus is okay with it.

Lance:

Perhaps Farmer could convince Lance that they were telling the truth about their strange hair colour situation. Except that the tips of their lips kept twitching, trying to turn into a smile, and Lance's discerning eyes didn't miss it. Since Farmer has decided to have some fun, Lance joins the game as well. The gallant adventurer will slyly and as if unintentionally start asking Farmer questions, logically coming up with clues and making the Farmer confused about their own untrue stories until they give up. In the situation that the Farmer is a lover or spouse, Lance will gracefully puts his dear person in a tight embrace, kissing their neck and tickling them until Farmer admits that they made it all up about the hair. "Just tell me the truth, darling~" Lance already knows the truth, this is just an excuse for him to be more romantic with Farmer and have a little fun.

He plays the piano just like rowlf, but with more rougher sounds And tones on the piano, And he dislikes when someone tells him what to do.
