About Me
I go by Sophie! I’m 23 years old and I use she/her pronouns.
I have been writing fanfiction since I was 14 (yes there is an incredibly cursed blog full of kpop fanfic that I wrote in middle school still floating around on tumblr to this day). I first got into reading dark fanfics when I was 19 or 20 and I’ve been writing and posting my own dark fanfics for about 2 years.
Who I Write For
Sophie’s Masterlist
I mostly write for Rafe Cameron and Coriolanus Snow, but I have written for Loki and Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) in the past.
In addition to my Rafe Cameron fics, I have also featured Topper Thorton as a character in a smut. I have one Coriolanus Snow fic that features Sejanus Plinth, and I am planning on having Sej come back in future Coriolanus fics.
Requests
Requests are allowed and encouraged but I can give no guarantee that I will get around to writing all of them. I currently have over 100 messages in my inbox, so if I don't end up taking your request, it's nothing personal, I just have a lot of them :)
Here is a list of what I will not write about
Recs!!!!!
I reblog many fics written by other authors onto this blog but here are just a couple of my favorite authors on tumblr that I have to rec
@cherienymphe
@rvfecamerons
@perlelune

A book rec perhaps?
I don't know...but to the ORV fandom and those who like books and media with heavy meta themes and philosophical musings, I recommend Sophie's World.
What is that you ask?
Well, my friends...it's a book by Norwegian author Jostein Gaarder (I read the translated to English version, of course) that follows a 14 yr old girl named Sophie as she randomly starts receiving letters in a philosophy course and finds herself semi-adopted as a student under an old philosopher.
The book gives Sophie and the readers a sort of intro course into western philosophy and worldviews from Biblical mythos to Plato to the scientific eras whilst also incorporating a seriously wild metafictional plot that explores the relationship of fiction to the real world.
I can't say much without giving spoilers but the book is WILD and absurd in ways that will eventually make sense(ish). It makes you really think about the things that can be done with writing and the awareness that knowing philosophies/worldviews/etc. can bring into a "created" being.
It's been a hot while (years, I think) since I've read the book but I was suddenly reminded of it randomly (don't know how) and thought, "Huh. I think ORV fans who enjoyed the meta of the story and some of the philosophies it introduced would like this!"
In short, if you like takes on the relations of fiction to the real world and Thought(tm) that relies on Weird Twists, as well as a cleverly and easy to follow introduction to western philosophy/worldview, not to mention a pretty engaging plot with fascinating characters you will want to study under a microscope....Sophie's World does it really well.
Content warning? Like I said, it's been a few years since I read it, and nothing in particular struck younger me as problematic enough to remember. The book was written in 1991, so there could be some slight sexism (don't quote me on that). It also deals with a buuuunch of philosophies that discuss heavy themes and I recall references to sex and some slight psychological twistiness, but I think it's safe to rate it as PG-13. (If anyone who has read the book recently and knows better please feel free to add/correct any discrepancies in my recommendation)

This month's reads! I'm so in love with Jostein Gaarder. I remember reading Sophie's World when I started taking biology at university. Back then, I had an episode of emotional trauma (predators are everywhere!), and I couldn't finish the book. After 16 years, I finished it! I also read another one by the same author, and it brought me to tears! I'm reclaiming what once gave me so much joy!

Through a Glass, Darkly
Tumblr media
Cecilia, at her deathbed, is unfairly confined though it's snowing outside, she has the new ski set waiting, and Christmas is nearing. So, angel Ariel comes to comfort her and engage her in questions about existence, God, and heaven, while being marvelled at by her due to his supernatural abilities of travelling through barred doors and flying. The situation may be a little too specific, but it's not that you don't connect to it. Gaarder's more famous Sophie's World, similarly, sounds profound as it charts the history of Western philosophical thought, but reads as easily as young adult fiction too. That is why Gaarder surprises me so pleasantly. His angel believes that with every child being born, the world is renewed.
To be born is the same as to be given a whole new world.
Since angels cannot be usually seen, they don't feel and so on, Cecilia is taken to the bottom layers of emotions and what they do to you, which is why Ariel asks seemingly nonsensical questions like:
'Did you know that something can be so nice it almost hurts?... Can anything hurt so much it's almost nice, too?'
It makes us question our existence, though not in a despairing way.
'We don't feel anything'. 'Then you can't know whether you're real.'
And no scholar has ever seen another person's dream. That doesn't mean that thoughts and dreams don't exist inside people's heads.
Which is why, when Celie dies and hovers with the angel outside her window, looking at her corpse, we are neither shocked nor mourning, but we accept it as a mere fact of life.

[2/100 days of productivity]
Spent most of the day on my computer vision assignment, writing the code and later on writing the report. It was submitted on time.
The good thing is I've spent 7 hours of concentrated work, i haven't been able to do that since a very long time.
Used the 50min/10min pomodoro technique. I am trying to advance in my reading during the breaks. I've been suffering from constant reading slumps.

I guess Sophie’s World is the comparison that sprang to mind because it’s also a story in which the characters do more traditional character stuff for the most part before breaking the fourth wall. Or, like, slowly work their way up to it. Vs. stuff like THEATRE OF COOLTY or frankly quite a few SI fanfics that *start* by having the characters address the fact that they are characters in a story.
One major contrast between Sophie’s World and Worth the Candle is that: in SW, the characters don’t have any control over their narrative and seek to escape it entirely. Whereas in WTC, one character feels that way (and makes the same choice), but the rest decided that the author has promised to hand over control over the narrative to them if they complete certain tasks, so they stick around and that’s what happens. They even reject the explanation that they’re characters in a novel, and frankly they don’t need to care, b/c they can make their own paradise now, so who cares exactly why. This is, as I already pointed out, at least a little hilarious.

I already made a post about thrift stores and I'm doing it again:
Thrift stores are the best thing ever, especially regarding to books!! I saw After Passion for only 2€ (but I sadly couldn't buy it that time and now it's already gone :( ).
Today I bought the first book of the The Hunger Games also for 2€ and Sophie's World for 3€ in hardcover! If you have one in your area, go there, you most likely won't regret it.
