Later that day, it seemed as though everywhere that Lamont went, Enoch was there. His first class; in the lunch line; and in the lunchroom during afternoon break. He sat down at a table contemplating what all this meant, when another student sat down at the same table. He introduced himself as Ollie Roberts.

“So, you are new here, right? I am Ollie Roberts, and we are needing some of the other guys to try out for the winter play. You look like you might be a theater guy. Would you be interested?”

He looked at Ollie, then back over to Enoch. What Ollie had said did interest him, but...

“Oh, are you already infatuated with Enoch? Honey do NOT waste your time. He is a player. You would have much more fun in Drama Club, so what do you say?”

Lamont agreed to meet him after school and see what the Drama Club was all about.

When Season 1 takes place

*throws a book at a wall* Looks like Wednesday IS 2022 like I first thought (the fake unaliving yourself note has the date Nov 9, 2022). 

What was confusing me was the official Nevermore Academy website says she’ll be class of 2027 and???? TT0TT Babe that’s not it. It’s fall 2022 in S1, graduating usually happens in the spring. She’s probs like....a sophomore. So she’d be graduating in like 2 more years, so it’d be class of 2025 (sophomoreyear ends in spring 2023 then add 2). 

So I was like “Does S1 actually take place in Fall 2024???″ And that really messed with me TT0TT So I had to comb the darn show like a few more times lkfdjsjfa; I was legit breaking out freaking moon phases , harvest festival dates, and bear hibernation dates to narrow this darn thing down. TT0TT

So that means Netflix!Friday was born on Friday, Oct 13th, 2006. 

Gonna try to make a legit timeline now. 8U Anyway, yeah making this post in case anyone one else was scratching their heads and missed the date on the damn note. kflsdjkflj;f (let’s just say some of the math they were throwing out was vague and/or inconsistent too so that didn’t help)

"Maybe I should lose the hat?” ...

Tomorrow is the first day of his sophomore year, at a new school, in a new town and with only one parent. (His parents divorced during the summer) Lamont decided to be himself. So, when he and his mother went school shopping, he insisted HE pick out his new clothes. Not her this year.

He wants to make an impression, but at the same time not be too “flashy”

Having just finished my sophomore year of high school, I feel qualified enough to give some tips on how to make the best of your sophomore year :))

 1. Join as many clubs and outside school activities as you can. As this year will most likely be your last non-hectic year, I think it’s best to take advantage of your free time while you still can. I personally didn’t get the chance to do as many after school activities as I’d like, but I would recommend it for anyone else!!

 2. [dependent on your current age] try to start/look for a job! It’s best to start looking for work earlier on, so that you can get a head start on things! I’ve been tutoring for three years now at a reasonable pay, but now I’m planning on verging into other jobs! If you’re not old enough to legally work at a job, try babysitting, tutoring or watching people’s pets/houses. You’d be surprised how much people would pay for you to just sit in their house all day when they’re not home!! 

 3. Discipline is key! Being able to focus and prioritize your time is essential, and it will help you sooo much later on in your life. Making time for your school life and personal life can be a challenge; but once you develop a strategy, you’ll achieve so much! I think that completing your work the day you receive it is very efficient and it definitely helped me when I started to have more tests later on in the year. 

 4. Study smarter not harder! Before my chemistry class each day, I reviewed my notes from the prior class and also read ahead in our notes so that when I got to class I was able to understand everything a little bit better. Chemistry was my best class and I really enjoyed it, and I honestly believe that simply reviewing my notes each day, had a big impact on your grades! 

 5. Speaking of grades, they’re not everything! I know you’ve probably heard this about a million times, but it’s true; grades aren’t everything. I don’t always believe this myself, but one bad grade doesn’t define you. You can learn from your mistakes and improve from them! Reviewing old questions from quizzes/tests and seeing why and where you went wrong is sooo helpful for future exams. I made a huge chart on Google Docs on common mistakes I made on quizzes in my math class, and I saw which topics I struggled most with, and I spent the most of my time reviewing and practicing those types of questions. It was really helpful! 

 6. Make some time for yourself! With classes getting harder and harder each year, it can become difficult to set aside time for yourself to relax. If you can, hang out with your friends on the weekends, or just be by yourself! Take a day or two and just binge watch all those shows you couldn’t watch throughout the week and just be lazy!!!! You deserve it! I probably had too many lazy days throughout this school year, but I got my work done eventually so that’s all the reaaalllly matters hah.

 7. Make connections! Try to reach out/become friends with older students! Especially older kids who have had the same classes you did, so that they can give some tips and advice for later on! 10/10 would recommend this tip for everyone because it is sooo helpful! I’ve made so many new friends this year who are all older and they gave the best advice!

 I hope this was helpful for everyone! But forget about school for right now, and enjoy your SUMMER VACATION!

Letters to Strangers: Freshmen

Whether you’re a freshman in college or high school, this one’s to you.

Dear Freshman who looks around in complete and utter confusion:      It’s okay, the sophomores are confused. The juniors are confused. The seniors are confused. Even the teachers are confused. It’s perfectly fine to need to ask for help or directions. We don’t think you’re weird or strange because you need help. We once did too. And, despite the rumors that Sophomores/Juniors/Seniors detest (and I mean, DETEST) Freshmen, we’re willing to help. We were once Freshmen. We remember how awkward and weird and out-of-place it felt that first time our feet hit the campus that first day. Don’t be afraid of us. We won’t hurt you. Dear Freshman who looks at the “older kids” longingly:      Do not worry your little head. You will be one of us sooner than you know. Do NOT -- and I repeat do NOT -- wish for it to come sooner. Trust me. We all wish we were still Freshmen sometimes. Don’t be jealous of us who have been here longer. We’re in the in-between stage where we just want to graduate, but we also want to stay here as long as possible. Dear Freshman who wears band tees / fandom tees:      Yes, it is still okay to wear those here. I heard one of you asking your friend that, since you’re freshmen in college, should you stop wearing your t-shirts? Absolutely not. They are part of you. They are part of your armor that makes you feel safe, powerful, protected. Wear all the band / fandom t-shirts you want. I have a dozen and a half in my closet that, after the first few weeks, I will be donning. College kids believe in t-shirts more than dressing up everyday.      It’s still okay to dress up everyday too. I dress up every other day in a dress or skirt or something nice (I also work every other day too). Wear what YOU want to wear. Don’t wear what you think will get you liked or what someone else wants you to. College is about being YOU. You wanna wear a t-shirt with your favorite fandom, game, YouTuber, what have you, on it? WEAR IT! You want to wear a dress / suit to school? WEAR IT! You wanna dress completely hardcore in leather boots and black? DO IT! You wanna wear pastels and shiny jewelry and heels? DO IT!
