[ Image: A bunch of uncolored drawings of Anpanman. The top drawing has him wandering around with the top half of his head missing, Uncle Jam and Butterko looking distressed behind him. He has his hands held up and walks on unsteady legs, saying, "Woops". The second drawing shows him pulling a piece off of his head with a big friendly smile. The other side of his head is missing a piece too. The third is a little doodle of him sticking his tongue out and saying, "Bleh". The fourth is a drawing of him in a sweater with his smiley face design on the chest and a long skirt. He's posed with his hands behind his back and a smile. ]
[ Image: A screenshot from Anpanman: Apple Boy and Everyone’s Hope, showing Apple Boy’s Hometown. The Hometown is a large island shaped like a red, half-peeled apple, with the spiral of peel still connected and floating around the upper half. There is a small lake with an apple stem sticking out of it, with a large leaf attached to the middle of the stem. Around the lake is a circle of closely clustered orange, green, and yellow houses, and surrounding that are even pentagonal shapes housing apple trees and grass. Winding between the pentagonal shapes and the houses is yellow cobblestone. The Hometown floats in a dreamy light blue sky surrounded by clouds. ]
This place is probably one of my favorite floating castle/planets I’ve seen so far besides Princess Kirara’s Castle/Planet and the weird Dyson Sphere planet from Kokorin to Kiseki no Hoshi.
[ Image: Another screenshot, closer to the floating island this time, showing the apple trees, which are cut into topiary sculptures of Brontosauruses, Pterodactyls, and Stegosauruses, alongside more normal, round topped trees and wide arches. All of them are hanging with apples, and surrounded by little apple fairies doing farm work. Visible is a basket suspended on two apple balloons watering a round topped tree from above, attended by two apple fairies, and two similar baskets laden with picked apples, surrounded by apple fairies with smaller baskets to pour into them. The houses surrounding the lake surrounding the stem are more visible too, all shaped like lopsided apples, with stems for chimneys and seemingly random door placement. ]
We barely get to see this place in the movie, but there’s so much going on aesthetically. It’s strange and gorgeous, and it’s what I like a lot about most settings in Anpanman. I wish I could ask though: Why dinosaurs?
Although, Anpanman called Uncle Jam as his name, I like to think that sometimes he accidentally called him "Dad", which make sense since Uncle Jam literally create him (look at the Wiki). It's actually a surprise that Anpanman just called him Uncle Jam instead of "Dad".
"Here you go, Anpanman"
"Thanks dad."

Oh the embarrassment Anpanman had to go through after that, it's even more embarrassing when Uncle Jam responed with a smile on his face "You're welcome, son."
Dude
You have no idea
I love them being dad and son SO MUCH
Them being father and son is somewhat canon media. Them looking the same, Jam raising him, etc. there is a lot of canon media that supports them having a father son relationship. Though Anpanman doesn’t call uncle jam ‘dad’ directly, there are plenty of times where he refers to him as his Uncle Jam or calls him ‘uncle’ by itself. I just wish they would show MORE of that dynamic! So whenever I write or roleplay for them, i always have Anpanman call Jam ‘dad’ on and off. 🥹
