How gratifying for once to know that those above will serve those down below!
In my plans, I was going to sculpt a prop and everything, but October has been a messy month for me. Still, I didn't wanna stop the tradition. My Halloween homage to my beloved and dearly missed Angela Lansbury and her iconic Mrs. Lovett, I found some amazing photos of her doing her own make up and were lovely to look at for reference. It was also an excuse to watch her perform it again. It was fun doing a make up that looks simple but involves a layer of characterization, then a layer of theater make up and then the slight gore, that I wish had been more, but it is what I could do with the time I had. Happy spooks!
Todays fit plus new dress try on. Did try on two other things in a deeper green but they didn’t fit and I was sooo sad abt it. But branching out from only black and I like this green a lot
Got my hairs did professionally for the first time since the COVID bullshit shut everything down. “Started over” with a #4 on top; I was wanting to get it cleaned up as I am no professional, and I currently don’t have a 220v or dual voltage clipper set (’Merica runs on 110v/50Hz). A pleasant surprise was the barber giving me a shoulder/upper back massage after he was done with my hairs, which is not something I’m used to, especially on base, and it was nice af. Found out the NEX also has a spa service within the beauty salon so I might see about getting my leg and back did soon. #OldAndBusted
Anyway as I mentioned, my 3 piece razor is useless and I’m still waiting on my new one to arrive, and you can tell the difference in my skin. Left is roughly 2 weeks with the cartridge (no other change in products) vs. 6 months with a DE razor on the right. I wish I’d tried DE shaving sooner, ‘cause it would have saved (by now) thousands of dollars in ineffective skin care products, dermatologist visits, and I might’ve had self-confidence before 36.
To bid farewell to an awesome show in its last season, I decided to be The Owl Lady in her harpy form this year for Halloween. It’s not really cosplay, more of a personal interpretation, but I thought it’d be interesting to incorporate with make up a feather gradient instead of blocks of color for the details. I wanted to incorporate the talon-nails as well, so the feathers carried on towards the arms. Happy Halloween!
