Cool dice and stargazer

(Also the vampire one made me wheeze laugh so hard I snorted XD I was like nah I ain't saying that one about anyone 💀)

Everyone has diagnosed me as "Cool Dice" It makes me wonder if I should post a picture of my neat socks collection.

Also... Stargazer is so VISERALLY accurate, I'm surprised not many people got it sooner.

I was a Honor Roll straight A kid who didn't need to study or learn any life skills because schoolwork just came naturally to me and a lot of the subjects in school, like reading, science and art... and the basic academics were my special interests at the time so I did well.

When I went to college, I think I got my first Cs in classes that I genuinely loved and thought I was to be good at. Like Theatre, Photography and Psychology. and then I cried cus I thought I was dumb and not good at things that I loved.

No, I wasn't, I just didn't study and no one told me like that's what you HAD to do in college.

So like when... I tell Neurotypicals that I'm actually Autistic. They look at me so strange like... "But you did good in school!"

Yeah. And then I flounder later in adult life cause fundamentals weren't explained to me and quickly forgotten about.

I remember fighting with my English Teacher in highschool a lot because i said that "as long as the sentence makes sense in the context of the story, grammar isn't nessasary"

Which is probably something you see in my writing that I struggle with, and it's typically why I take so long because I keep trying to change the tense of verbage use to keep it consistent and second guess myself as if my fanfic is an academic paper to be graded. A horrible habit I know.

I'm also mildly dyslexic and horrible at spelling and cheated on all my spelling tests in Fifth grade and don't know how to spell to this day.

Spellcheck has been my friend, but since they integrated AI into it, lately spellcheck has not been picking up on my common misspelled words and usually recommend me different damn words then what I want....

Does Jonathan ever look what’s under Mimikyu’s cloak?

- Pokemon AU -

Jonathan saw some parts of Mimikyu the night of their first meeting. That Pokemon had stolen one of his medals and Jon decided to have his Duskul (who can follow their victims for several kilometers, if I remember correctly) take it's trail.

So they followed its trail to a small forest hut covered with moss. Some boards were missing, the door had already been torn off its hinges, it hung down across the ground and squeaked in the rushing night breeze. It was clear that no one had lived there for a long time... And yet in the interior stands a bed, table, chairs and an old stove, of which in the dust were heaps of glittering bits and pieces - the little medal laying between them.

But Jonathan's attention was more on the picture which was hanging from a rusty nail on the wall. The red paint on the frame had long since peeled off and the material was splintering, but the picture inside looked like it had just been taken. Someone must have taken care of it. It showed a young woman together with a Pokemon that he could no longer recognize.

Because as well as the picture was preserved, it was obvious that someone didn't want to see how that Pokemon looked like. Jonathan now more curious than annoyed, moved on through the manageable room and finally discovered the small lump of Pickachu fabric that sat in the corner of the room and tried obsessively to patch a large rip in his cloak.

The small body trembled slightly and Jonathan watched how it repeatedly failed because of this. He approached carefully, crouched down in front and took out another medal to hold it right under Mimikyu's nose. His theory was confirmed when this Mimikyu stared intently at that little piece of silver.

It seemed to have a not inconsiderably small obsession with shiny objects. That could mean that it just likes silver... or that it has something to do with the picture. Maybe it was Mimikyu's former owner? The picture looked too good, it must have been cared for for decades - so it seemed nearly obvious.

Maybe she had a job as a silversmith? Or a jeweler? The old figures in the fireplace looked like little presents ... maybe for this Pokemon? Jonathan's interest in Mimikyus grew more and more with each passing second. He carefully picked up the needle and watched it staring at his item, before starting to sew the hole. Jonathan realized that what he had already suspected, a black haze, similar to that of a shadow or a Gastly, was visible underneath. Not that he cared much, because he was way more interested in the Pokemon's mental development over all these years of isolation.

After that, Jonathan visited little Mimikyu regularly, watching it tending its treasures, cleaning the picture, collecting berries (probably more out of habit and less because it really needed it to live) and scooped water around the wild daisies and tall nettles behind its hut.

Besides all the almost compulsive disciplined activities, he also recognized how much it seemed to suffer. It sometimes stared at this old picture for hours, but at the same time it seemed possible for it to get rid of its past with every new little present Jon gave little Mimikyu.

Forgive me for this, but what are your thoughts about Donald/Daisy? My knowledge of Disney only extends to KH, both versions of Ducktales, and Three Caballeros, so I don’t recognize 98% of the duck characters. I don’t know how to obtain the Duck comics in the States in English, though I’ve always wanted to read them.

daisy huh... my opinions of her vary from “sure” to “ew” I guess. it largely depends on the source material... I feel in KH she is such a non character... even more so than usual. well in KH female characters tend to not be written great and Minnie and Daisy are really shoved to the side to the point it’s not even bad writing it’s no writing at all ??? like she is never seen interacting with Donald apart from uh I think the end of KH1 where she threatens and chase him? which is. yeah sure

iirc she didn’t show up in og DT... new DT is a very superficial attempt at “fixing” her but no matter how well-intentioned the writers are, inserting Daisy so late into the story AND as Donald’s love interest is not great and that fixing attempt is bound to fail I think. I have a lot of thoughts about that episode and I’m not going to go into details unprompted (literally WHO wants my ducktales rants?) but it sure makes me smile seeing people going HEALTHY DONDAISY!!! DAISY IS FIXED!!! XD uwu lol.. but future will tell...... maybe my speculations will be wrong and I sincerely hope they are. but yeah as of now there isn’t much material about them and I don’t like what we got so far

in lot3c dondaisy is a central part of the story and hm. I wouldn’t mind Daisy being an obstacle to donald/straight up antagonistic if this didn’t fit in a misogynistic tradition of the Nagging Girlfriend Trope and I think a lot of writers can’t imagine a Daisy who isn’t that, sadly. It’s a shame especially in the Donald Duck’s Found Family Go On Funny Adventures All Around The (Supernatural) World show... I think Donald being torn between a trivial, normal, quiet lifestyle and an adventurous thrilling one is nothing new and it’s a theme that shows up in a lot of others media, be it comics or animation (It’s a running gag in Mickey Mouse2013 and Ducktales2017 deals with this horribly, but it’s really a long time thing in comic books too), and I usually like it! but instead of being an internal conflict, in LOT3C it’s symbolized by Daisy who works as an anchor into the “real world” and keeps pulling Donald back to it when frankly I’d rather see him (even begrudgingly) adventuring with his amigos. And I don’t mean that as a dumb “grrr daisy in the way of my cabs shipping” way, because I do think Xandra and April/May/June have great chemistry with Donald... if Daisy is an anchor into the real world, I believe AMJ is more of a bridge between reality and fantasy, and as such they are a lot more fun and a lot less frustrating. I do think you could have the whole thing with Donald having one foot into reality and one foot into the supernatural just in his relationship with Xandra. In short I think it’s def a case of writers wanting or having to put Daisy in but not being able to write her beyond being Donald’s annoying girlfriend and it’s a shame.

And if you think about it, if you remove Daisy’s Annoying Girlfriend status, literally who is she? She’s a character that  was initially written as a prize for Donald to win ; initially it’s the nephews who gets in his way, then Daisy herself, then Gladstone, etc etc. It has been a long tradition both in comics and animations for decades and no one up until recently bothered to give her something else. Historically there have been attempts but they are inconsistent, loosely defined, and most importantly always relate to being THE GIRL. She writes a diary that chronicles her Woman Problems such as her boyfriend being too ugly so she’s ashamed to go out with him ; or being jealous and petty about her female friends, etc... she has her friends over at the Women Club which is sometimes a charity, sometimes a feminist club, and most of the time a place where they throw girly parties where Donald has to be dragged in against his will... she has a superhero identity that revolves around “being a feminist” but really is about SHOWING THE DUDES WHO’S THE MOST CAPABLE SEX, and all in all her gags revolve around “haha women are so ridiculous” and “marriage is a prison”  So yeah, for a long time Daisy was built as a character that is just one misogynistic trope after the other and don’t have much of a direction, but also she’s historically known as Donald’s Girlfriend so somehow she has to be with him by mandate and my impression is that most writers are stuck with her and have no idea what to do with her... she has no life outside of Donald or any main character really so if she were to break up with him she’d have no reason to hang out with any of them. She could end up with Gladstone? but what even is the Daisy/Gladstone relationship in itself if it doesn’t revolve around Donald? Literally every other female characters have goals and something for themselves...Grandma has her farm and is a caring, support character for about everyone ; Brigitta is a skilled businesswoman who wants to end up with Scrooge ; Dickie is a teen and a reporter, etc etc. Daisy is Donald’s girlfriend and she makes his life harder. ok, which is a goal I guess ! but not a great one for a character sold as one of the Good Ones... and modern stories making her sweeter to Donald make for cute panels but it’s just removing one of her traits without giving her any new ones...

What’s sad is that in more modern times there have BEEN attempts at fleshing out Daisy- she’s a novelist, she’s a reporter, she works for Scrooge, she’s into fashion, she has AMJ, etc. Some writers are well aware of the Daisy Problem and it’s even adressed...

...so there is that conscious effort to flesh her out, but these efforts are so far too isolated and nothing tends to stick out much... and I mean, it’s difficult to almost completely rewrite a character when she has decades of history behind her already. But the efforts are here and I salute them... even though there are more or less well executed..I like MM13′s Daisy for her strong personality and her working independently from Donald - I think having her do stuff with Minnie, Clarabelle, and even being friends with Mickey etc helps a LOT (though this series is not free from Donald feeling stuck in his relationship with Daisy.. but it’s still miles better imo than their usual portrayal) 

so yeah I know that ask was originally about DonDaisy only but I think in order to know how I feel about them it’s.. good to know about how I feel about Daisy lol. In general I think they are stuck together by mandate when Daisy doesn’t have much to offer to Donald beyond Pain and Donald has better chemistry with literally. every other character ever. sorry if you didn’t ask about this wall of text lol but if you don’t know much about Daisy I guess here’s an overview of the character...

oh also. Daisy and Donald are cute in the parks. Daisy is that attention loving diva and Donald just fawns over her it’s really cute... her being fashion buddies with Minnie is cute.. nghnng though female characters being linked to fashion is.. sigh I will not go into another rambling I save this for another ask lol

Prince Thimothee of the southern isles.

Some random part of that tv show idea i ve got in my description in fanfic style not script  that i m procrastinatating to wrote since 5 years  😂this is like episode 2 or 3 lottie meet one of the prince of the southern isles and suddenly...well its love at first sight. writing is also a way to improve my english so well thanks to anyone who may read this and sorry for the painful grammar XD

A place amoung others in the hotel was a restaurant that was not indifferent to lottie. 

Not only Tiana had take an opportunity to work here as a way to cope with the strange curse that had send them here but there was also a part of the restaurant that was mean for  musician group that lottie was liking a lot.

This evening was particulary enjoyable for lottie. The music was sounding great she was chatting happy with Tiana and Aurora when suddenly something had crossed her heart at the minute she saw the new singer who was making the show. 

Curly auburn hair , mysterious chocolate eyes , this man was strange. He was mysterious but at the same time lottie could tell from his face that he seems to be kind. She must have been too much concentrated on that guy for she hear tiana and Aurora laughed amused.

« Lottie... » she heard  Tiana chuckled.

«  i think she is having a crush on prince thimothee » Aurora added in a whisper.

« Prince ? He is a prince ? » lottie asked at the same time shocked and euphoric this man who was singing in front on her ,this stunning god was a prince ? She looked a little better at the man. His pants was not the same as his shirt. When the shirt was definitely an outfit he buy like everyone else here to fit with this world clothes brand. the pants was more fitting the brand of the southern part of the first continent of their  world. Finally she catch it the Symbol of the southern isles royalty on the top of the pants. She laughed.

«  oh my god this is one of the princes of the southern isles !!!! » she claimed. As aurora and Tiana laughed with her.  

Her  best friend added «  sorry lottie he is 11th in line ». Lottie  burst out laughing ,  her dream and fantasm of marring a prince and be a princess was something that she made public knowledge amoung her friends and if she had to be honest she liked playing the role of the superficial girl that had  always dream to marry a prince. it was funny and her friend were knowing perfectly who she was. Yes she was blond ,she was rich , and she was having strange dreams but Tiana her best friend and her others friend were knowing perfectly that she was a very faithful friend who was kind and gentle. she was interrupted again in her  daydream by Tiana

« Lottie you are literally watching him since 2 minutes » she laughed

«  well when I see a goergous piece of art how can I not look at what I see » they both burst out laughing with aurora who finally added a little more information.

« I m sorry lottie but all the princes of the southern isles are married with children except for prince Runo prince Rudi wich is engagment was call off and Prince Hans » the news hit lottie pretty hard for she makes a face that makes her friend laugh even more. Upset she added :

«  so I only have a choice between the ones surround by negative gossip  and....Prince hans » she makes a grimace. Hans even though was 13th  in line had makes himself very popular for his crimes in arendelle. he was a selfish entitled murderous asshole. 

it was not a surprise him and his twins brothers are not married. In fact the contrary would  have be extremely shocking and surprising. She wished for one second no any women will have the misfortune te to be married to such men. Prince hans at least , they still didn’t knew if Rudi and runo were as horrible as the gossip about them. 

Generally rumors twist reality , at least with Hans the existence of fact where proving how an horrible human being he was.  He had left his  fiance to died , laugh at her misery trying to murder for power. This quote he said to her also “ oh anna if only there was someone out there who loved you” has spread very fast in the continent. all of these was only showing the cruelty of the character of his royal highness Prince Hans Westergaard of the Southern isles.

 She was going to serve herself an other glass of this very tasteful juice when a   hand touch accidently her   

«   I m sorry » the person said.  She raise her head and suddenly noticed prince thimothee ! 

Prince timothee was the one who touched  her hand  ? not wanted to sound like a fan girl she nervously brushed her hair ,  when  a magnicent smile with dimple crossed his royal highness goergous face.   Her heart melt a little more « it’s alright » she said with a huge smile.

 Confident , she finally decided to talk to him «  you have an amazing voice your highness you makes a great show I m sure a lot of person here enjoy it a lot » she smile her confidence disappearing  suddenly he was royalty maybe he was finding her a bit too familiar.

«  really ? » thimothee said «  thanks you thanks you so much generally I m all the time compared to my triplet brother » he laughed not convinced of her compliment. “ your triplet brothers” lottie replied surprise. “ yes we are triplet that dont look like each others like our twin brothers” she notices the two men on stage who must be his brothers. There were Indeed not looking exactly like each other’s but we still could tell there were brothers.

She smiled happy to chat with him “ its true Rudi and Runo have nothing at all in common physically !”

«  I m sure you have our own skills and talent that cannot be compare to your brothers » she reasured him.

« Thanks thanks you so much what your name ? »

« Charlotte labouff ! I m from the second continent new Orleans ! She said happy to present herself to the prince and way too much excited.

«  it’s a pleasure prince thimothee of the southern isles » he Bowned and paused a kiss on her hand. «  to another time miss labouff »  on these words the prince left her.

She heard aurora and Tiana not convinced by the prince charm «  what he didn’t said to you is that he has a wife” 

“he has a wife !” lottie repeat  finally sad. 

“I m sure he is the kind to flirt around even when married » Tiana said 

«  oh that will be so sad I hear he got 3 kids ? »  Aurora said 

«  yes naveen told me two babies and one who is 4 years old »  speicfied tiana.

Lottie looked a little better at the direction the prince took there was indeed a little kid next to thimothee

 « the question I asked myself is why  they take some of their kids at this ball now look at the disaster only 2 princess of the southern isles went to the ball and now several of these poor kid are away from their mothers » aurora said. 

Finally she saw a man tooking the small child  with him approaching  from lottie Aurora and tiana table. She smiled to who must be prince thimothee kid. The boy replied with a little malicous smile. she looked at him again the poor little boy was so lost and tired from all these mess. he must be terribly miss his mommy she thought.

«  if you want to babysit him I will not said no ! When you are having more than 10 nephews and nieces and most of their mother are missing this is a hard time »  she heard the man visibly piss off  told her. The men was the uncle of the boy ?  a prince of the southern isles ? 

He replied to her internal monologue  «  prince klaus of the southern isles...”  bitter , cynical and unfriendly withtout any smile prince klaus said : “  Not hans brother , neither number 6 please »

She offered the prince an other  smile and bow the best she can. Lottie  was sure he was the kind of royalty to claim everything as a disrespect again his own person. This one was also very handsome not as much as prince thimothee but still pretty good looking. What struck her the most was how much cold and arrogant he sounded. 

. « He must missing so much his mother » lottie said sad for the little boy  and his cousins who went at the ball.   « His father too must miss her terribly... » she added thinking about his wife  putting to the side her little crush on prince thimothee she did not realize the horror its must be for the princes to be away from their love one.

Lottie was missing a lot her father and there were there only since nearly one week.  the prince of the southern isles them were having a enormous family and more people to missed terribly.

The prince chuckled «  no I can tell you my brother prince thimothee does not miss his wife neither my sisters in law”

“ love does  not exist in the southern isles »  he added while drinking bitter his glass.

«  really ? » aurora lottie and Tiana asked shocked by the prince declaration. The 6th prince of the southern isles  « my sisters in law...they must be throwing a big party in our castle right now  ! this is only politic for my father ! 

In one instant after the prince left  ,  lottie went back to her intial very exited mood  that  Tiana , with rationality interrupted : 

«  lottie.  please i got the feeling prince thimothee is not as charming as he may seems to be ». «  maybe he is » she said a huge smile on her face. When aurora finally left  Tiana paused a very friendly hand on her shoulder «  I m here for you and I will always be here to help you achieve your dream just like you were there for me  !  just take me aware so I know if have to protect my best friend » she laughed and hug lottie very tight. 

 small tears fell on lottie face that crossed the smile she was having as hugging her best friend. «  tia you think we are gonna go home ? I miss daddy and Eudora and this is still only one week  we are here » 

«  I m sure  , aurora  told the fairies are working days and days they are gonna find a curse to make us go back home » finally Tiana  leave busy to take care of the closure of the restaurant. 

Alone on her chair she realized , her belly , it was as it it was full of buterfly prince thimothee has make a big impression on her. lottie was feeling it , her intuition was screaming at her that he was ineed a true good man. and now what does she hear ? his wife must be very happy to be away from him right now ? that they only married for political reasons ? Suddently it was like her hopes and dream could be real. Maybe she could have a love story with prince thimothee ? He seems to have like her when they very briefly meet ! or maybe she could even achieve her big dream she had hope since little be a princess ? she laughed she was defintly too much crazy this will never happened. 

She was also not in any way a gold digger no ? she genuinly  wanted to know better  that 11th prince of the southern isles. He seems so nice and kind lottie thought. 

finally her hapiness disapeared  the prince were not making a lot of appeareance since there were there.  they were mainly in their part reserved for the southern isles big family in the hotel. she also didnt wanted to pass for some crazy annoying fans of the princes of the southern isles.

no she needed someone to present her to the prince.

Someone that was also way more approchable ,  than was each days at the bar of the restaurent unlike his brothers.

Someone who  in those bunch of handsome fella was willing do to the worst stuff if it means gain what he wants. she needed to promise him something that was interesting him and what everyone was missing there was money. Prince Henry who had been assigned the role of the leader of the hotel by the curse had already  give  her some part of money. After all she was having food and a bed here ? she could give  him the money and  instead he could makes her meet prince thimothee and assure the communication between them. 

she smirked when she saw her prey  from the distance , His Royal Highness Prince Hans Westergaard of the Southern isles.

“Is your bag quacking?” Dewey asked the swan. Ava’s eyes widen as sweat trickled down her face. That little duck won’t stop quacking. She couldn’t understand what set the little guy off to make such ruckus. Dewey lean forward as Ava took a step back, her cheeks began to heat up. She knew this curious boy was trying to take a peek at her bag. He got in closer and closer like predator coming in for the prey. Ava’s back hit against the locker walls as she her heart race.  She looked around the hallway trying to think of a lie. If only she had Louie’s skills of fibbing, then she could lie so smoothly that she would get out of this situation.  The swan knew if she told Dewey she would be in so much trouble. She may like the boy, but he has a big beak. He will blab to the wrong person that she brought an animal to school…and straight into principal’s office she goes…then who will know what will happen to Pyg after that! Nervousness and fear strike into her. Her breathing became short, she felt everything getting dark and coming at her. Out of her habit of being scared and nervous she began to speak French. “Je ne parle pas anglais, désolé “She spluttered out. Dewey not understanding a single word, gave a confuse look. “Wha--?” He arched a brow as Ava managed to slip from side of him and race down the hallway. The boy in blue watched the swan ran as he yelled out. “You know I don’t understand French!” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Drawing and mini story(?) based on the magical hair care au. I mean I love the design of Pyg and I had to draw him. As I was beginning to I sorta thought of this funny lil idea of Ava trying to bring him to school and he just begins to quacking and Ava cannot quiet him down. Eh. Probably when I get home I will colour this.  sorry for the horrible grammar and spelling. Kinda my weak points. 1. how tall are you?

167 cm i think... or 166 cm. i don’t know i should check it out soon lol .

2. what color and style is your hair?

I’m a natural dark brunnete. I always kept my wavy hair very long, especially this year and i seriously need to cut them. Even though medium hair length suits me better i refuse to cut them. I don’t style my hair because i lack the skills, so i leave them down to my waist.

3. what color are your eyes?

Grey blue.

4. do you wear glasses?

Yes! I wear glasses since i was 8 and my myopia is TOO high.  

5. do you wear braces?

Yes i used to, for 2 years during primary school.

6. what is your fashion style?

Casual i guess?I’m very simple and during winter i’m bored XD I prefer summer because i love shorts and tops! I wear many fandom/movie t shirts and basic colours. On a good occasion i may put a little effort wearing a pair of hoops and a lipistick.

I was born in a  town from Greece and i still live there.

A regular high school which is practically over.

I consider myself to be a good student, especially in language courses ( ancient greek, latin,essays etc) and i fail miserably at mathematics and physics. Even though i have to say ,if i try , i can be more than decent to these subjects. I’m just bored.

12. do you like school?

Right now, no i hate it, i just want it to be over and move on to university.

13. what are your favorite school subjects?

I like literature, modern greek and english. But at this phase because i’m always studying i despise everything lol

14. favorite TV shows?

Well, despite the horrible ending, Game of Thrones will always be my favourite tv show( for now). From season 1 until season 8 episode 3 i loved everything about it. I would like to pretend the rest of the season doesn’t exist, and move on. My favourite characters  ( and my OTP Jonerys)will always have a special place in my heart.

Peaky Blinders is my second favourite tv show, i love it! Thomas Shelby is so dark, yet who can NOT love him? Loved every season, i hope season 5 delivers too.

Stranger things is nice, i liked season 1 very much, but not that much the second season. I’m not that excited for season 3 but i hope it surprises me plesantly!

It would be unfair if i didn’t include Glee! I started watching it when i was like 12, i hold on so many beautiful memories from this show even though it is long over. Seasons 1-3 were AMAZING! I need to rewatch them soon.

Honorable mention : Skam! The original of course. I don’t usually like high school tv shows any more but i found it realistic and had cool and iconic characters!

My favourite book is ‘’Lolita’.Highly contoversial but it’s such a well written book and reading this i understood what is beautiful literature. I mean look at the opening! So beautiful! : “Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul.[...] She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita.”

Just keep in mind that this is NOT a love story but a twisted dark fantasy from a pervent who basically destroyed a young girls life.Okay i stop here, i just love this book so much. Other books :

A Song of Ice and Fire series. I don’t know if i want to read ADWD now, but they are excellent books. Also the World of Ice and Fire is hands down, BRILLIANT and the illustrations captivating.

The hunchback of notre dame. I can read again and again and not get tired of it.

Me Before You. Read it twice and cried twice like a baby. Heart warming. Same comment to the beautiful Light between the oceans.

Watching movies and tv shows. Sometimes writing crappy things. Going to the cinema.

Yes but i try not to , and look to the future.

 A film journalist or a screenwriter. Anything related to the movie industry.

I don’t know. I would like to live the epic love story and have someone who will love me uncoditionally. Okay and after that i woke up and stayed forever alone. (probably)

Yes, but iam too young to be that sure.

It depends. If we go 1-2 hours ( maximum) shopping and then go to the bookstore or somewhere to eat , then i love it lol

some McClain family headcanons <3

i’ve been working on a post-s7 klance fic that involves a lot of Lance’s family, and i honestly love them to pieces :’’’’)

let’s get this party started:

Lance’s mom was born and raised in Cuba

Her name is Teresa and she’s fluent in both Spanish and English

Teresa’s primary language during her childhood was Spanish, so when she speaks English she has a slight accent

She has this low, warm mom voice and a deep, honest laugh that can make anyone smile

She calls all of her daughters (including Lisa) “mija”

She calls all of her sons “mijo”...

...except for Lance, who she calls “mi rayito de sol” (he’s the baby of the family and absolutely a mama’s boy)

All the kids call her “mami”

Teresa is just this embodiment of warm, wise, caring mami who loves everyone

She’s also really smart—you can’t fool mami and all the kids know that

...but Lance does occasionally get away with stuff...

Lance’s dad is not actually Cuban—he was born and raised in New Mexico

...i’m not really sure what his name is yet, but i’m working on that...suggestions welcome XD

He’s a thoughtful man with a huge heart and goofy personality

(that’s definitely where Lance gets it from)

Lance’s dad isn’t the brightest...or most organized...but he always, always has good intentions and constantly goes out of his way to help others

His parents were climatologists—when Lance’s dad was in his 20s and not sure what to do with his life (lol sAME), he chose to move with them to Cuba for a couple of years to help them study the effects of climate change on the coastal communities

While he was there, he decided to learn how to Salsa dance

Teresa’s an amazing Salsa dancer, btw...

So Lance’s dad met her when he was out dancing one night and fell head over heels

He could barely speak any Spanish, but tried to flirt with her anyways and asked her to dance

Teresa also fell hard for him (he didn’t have his mustache back then lol)

...but she used to be a bit of a flirt and convinced him that she barely spoke any English ; )

So Lance’s dad decided to dedicate himself to learning Spanish...

...and to raising his Salsa game up to Teresa’s level

Damn this story would be romantic af...someone with a better understanding of Cuban culture please write it for me....

So long story short, Lance’s dad shows back up at the Salsa club where he first met Teresa...

...and she’s just as extraordinary as the night he first saw her

He asks her to dance...

...and sweeps her off her feet with his new Salsa skills and his improved (but still horrible) Spanish

At the end of the dance he tells her this was “todo para tú” (cringe) and tries to be all suave...

Teresa just loses it and starts laughing, which stuns Lance’s dad and makes him feel kinda stupid for thinking this plan would work...

But then Teresa confesses to him that she’s fluent in English and she’s sorry he went through all that trouble just to talk to her

When they married, Teresa took his last name: McClain

And the rest is history <3

...whoops this just turned into headcanons about Lance’s parents sorry about that lol

i’m no expert on Cuba and i don’t remember a ton from my high school Spanish classes, so if you notice anything weird or offensive please tell me <3

free! dive to the future episode 9 liveblog/review thing

it's time for another liveblog/review post!!! ^___^ the previous episode was so happy!! and it wrapped up some major plotlines of this season. so it seems like this new episode will be a big turning point. i don't really know what's going to happen because other than haru entering a competition against rin and sousuke dealing with his injury, i don't know what plotlines might emerge. this is going to be interesting...

my thoughts on this episode: i'm going to be completely honest here and say... this was weird. yes it was an interesting episode and it was fun to watch it, but it was just weird. first of all, there are already many characters in this new season. why are the writers adding more characters??? it just seems kind of random and unexpected. secondly, i guess i don't really get the big deal about "haru lost." okay, so he lost. is that the major plotline for the next three episodes? i don't know, but maybe it will be. but is there anything particularly horrible about THIS loss? or did haru just expect to win every race all the time? was he overconfident? there were already two other examples of people being overconfident and then losing. however, i may be wrong here and haru may not have been overconfident.

albert is apparently a world record holder. haru's a highly skilled swimmer, but that doesn't mean he can beat a world record holder!! (and alien!) so is it really this huge surprise that he lost? i think there's something that i'm not realizing. i guess it'll become more clear to me in the next episode. in the next episode, we'll see how this loss has affected haru. maybe it's giving him a lot of stress, or sadness. or maybe he's fine. how does he feel? we're going to find out!! if he feels very bad, then i guess that's the major plotline of the next three episodes, because he'll need to recover from these negative feelings.

Gambling. With what ever money I could get my hands on I would use it to try to get more all while limiting myself. Might also get some people who might want my lady luck, when I would ask for my time to be payed with some of what ever they win after all.

Do you seek out a Faction, or try to join Reunion or Rhodes Island?

I’d join Rhode Island since it would help me out in the long run. Aka giving me a place to stay, and able to have a bed of my own.

02. Interpersonal

Who you do (HOPEFULLY) run into first?:

Nightingale, Specter, Shining, or Pramanix (It’s not a Isekai if the male character from a different world is not meeting a mysterious looking woman. Then it leading it to them fighting and hoping they do not die.)

Who do you think you’d be best friends with?: All the robot starters, and I will act like those sweet a little kid looking up something on goggle and thanking it for the answer I was looking for. Man I love these robots they are great. Manticore since she is a very sweet person, and man she needs a friend. I wouldn’t be able to feel right not saying hi to her or spending time with her as a whole. Sure she would be invisible, but I would still chill with her. Next would be Ethan. I would bug the hell out of this man, and be that clingy friend just so he could get it that I will make him food, listen to him talk for days, and do crimes with him. And no one will stop me. The last on the list will be Matterhorn and Hung. I can see us bonding over cooking, and us teaching each other new things to cook when we have time or need a quick meal to make for people or ourselves.

Who would you most likely get into conflict with?:

-groans- I don’t like to think of this since it’s a sad topic to think about. But if I have to pick, then I can see two I would more then likely get into conflict with, with out meaning to. First is Orchid. I can see us meeting with me giving her a bad introduction of me as a person, and would avoid me because of it. I try to fix it, but she doesn’t have no time for me, when she is a busy woman who has her hands full looking after her own group.  The second is Flamebringer. He would hear my record of sparring with lot of operators, and would want me to pick him for that day. But every time that happens something will be destroyed. So we will have to pay with it using our own credit. Doesn’t even matter if I or he broke something we fought with no limits and didn’t think about it until it was too late. And it will get so bad I would have to avoid him, since I would need my credit to gamble with after all...

Who would be a (HOPEFUL) love -interest for you?:

my thoughts changed from my original list so this one will be different. Also gonna limit myself to answering only 3 operators I can see me getting with or trying to get with in one way or another. But my 4-6 is Matterhorn, Sesa, and Chiave. I like these three so much that even if it doesn’t work out I would like to be there friends. Now on the real ones. 1.) Ethan. Okay listen I tried very hard not to like him, but the more I knew about him, and played him in game was making me fall for the lizard by the day. It was like being smacked by his tail be knocking out from one swat of it. I like his fashion. I mean have you seen his second anniversary outfit? HOT DAMN! I would be low key jelly around him because of it. Plus I think it would be cute if he asks me to make him something at 3 in the morning, and I will do it no matter how tired I might be. Not only that he has a feel that he would be easy to talk to, and be around as a person, ya know? I love this lizard too much. I am not sorry. 2.) Going to be shallow for the last two, but number two would be Jaye. I like cute guy’s with fluffy hair, and scars on there body. Dated a guy with scars on his legs. They where sexy what can I say. Now back on topic I would hang out with him to tell him about the dishes I know how to make while helping him out with his cooking hobby, would be down to help him fish no matter how cold it is or how early I have to wake up. Not only that I would feed him my dad’s skillet flounder dish and see him melt from the flavor alone. So yeah, I like the cute panda man who makes sushi. So sue me. 3.) The third one was a hard one to pick but I would go with Arene. Idk why I like guys who are fashionable, twinks, with great hair, but with those two being easy to talk to or hang out with, Arene would be so hard to really figure out. I like a challenge so I would go for it! Plus his voice reminds me of a gentle summer breeze, and i would be attracted to that. Anyways, I can see us finally talking is when he kicks my ass with us sparring, and I say something with out thinking about it form my world being a well known tactic, and he would want to know more, since he likes to learn things like that. So I would teach him everything I know, and even some weapon facts I know. I can see when I run out of facts I will just use things I use from media to fight, him not wanting to hear none of it will leave, and me fighting him until he dose listen. He is gonna learn something, and i will be damned if he doesn’t. Not only that he is a bit of a trickster, and damn I like guys like that too. I have a type what can I say. To end this I looked up there birthdays and I like a Aquarius, and two Virgos. As a Gemini wtf is wrong with me? It will never work out. Man if that isn’t prove I am not ready to date, then idk what is. XD

Who would you be rivals with?:

To be honest I have no idea. I guess who ever says I am there rival? So first comes first served.

What is your dream (un)wanted harem?:

To be a baker and to be the best man I can be. I could go into detail, but I already wrote lots as it is.

03. Direction What do you do?: Try not to die and rely on my luck like the dumbass that I am! As well as make as many friendships and bonds as I can to help me later down the road. 04.Extra

What Food would you more the likely eat the most of in this new world?: (Here is a link of some of the foods from the game.) Potato and bread. I know I can eat something similar to meat, but nah. Give me bread! What would you do late at night at the base?: I would do two things. Read the lore of the new world if it comes in English. If not I am screwed let’s be honest. Unless I have Isekai  powers to read there language, then that’s good. No problem there. And two I would make late night snacks for people. If I get caught i will just run away. Can’t get in trouble if they can’t catch you after all. Not even gonna rat out who was hungry that night. My lips are sealed.  Do you talk about being from another world with people or would you be secretive about it? I would spill all the jam of being from another world. Not even going to hide it. And if people see me as crazy oh well. I’ll live. Who would ask about your world in the Rhodes Island? What would happen because of it?: I can see the doctor asking a lot of questions about it, since it’s the doctor, and that bound would be them understanding me a bit more, and forgiving me for not knowing certain things about there world. As well as me asking questions to them before hand to be sure I don’t do anything stupid. But if we are talking about a operator, then it would more then likely be who ever my main friend is, and me telling them stories of my life, and it resulting in them wanting to know how something looks or asking me some questions I might not be able to answer fully. Who do you think would not believe you are from a different world? What would there reaction or actions be from this? I know the one who would not believe me would be Kal'tsit. I can just picture me saying, “In my world we didn’t have anthropomorphic animal people. We where connected to Homo sapiens.” And her thinking I am in the same situation as the doctor and lost my memories. She would say I was crazy but oddly enough I can see her not going to that conclusion, since it would be too simple of a answer.  So she would check up on me to see how I am doing because of me answering her question of my world. If you could be able to bring one thing from your world, then what would it be? Also it has to be something you own so pick wisely: My laptop with my music on it. I will die with out it, and I can just earn credit to get headphones so no problem with operator’s not knowing my trash taste in music.  Examples:  What horrible thing would you do by mistake with out knowing the effects, until it’s too late at the base? It wouldn’t be a mistake. Everyone will know the powers of memes....But real answer is me making sweets for the kid operators every Friday. Nothing bad so far, but I can see some operators wanting some of the desserts as well, and it getting so bad the doctor has to be involved. No one ate sweets that day... Would you have a Codename or would you just use your normal name?: I wouldn’t use my name, and would like to be named jawbreaker after the 1999 movie, cause I like movies, and will still reference them, since I am a dork. What would your dialog lines be in game?: “Let’s us be in the eternal twilight...“ “I don’t count cards I’m too dumb to know how! It’s luck! LUCK!“ “Doctor you seem to have woken up early today. Want me to cook you some breakfast?“ How would the other operators describe you? In the limit of 5 traits: Serious, gambler, sleepy, reliable, and hard to read. Lastly how do you want to end this? Aoharu x Machinegun (aoharu x kikanjuu)

I have another (belated + random) manga recommendation! Actually there’s also an anime which seems like it’ll be good but I only saw the first ep so far so I can’t say how good it is going forward. Seems like it will be really nice too.

Aoharu x Machinegun (in the English release, Japanese is Aoharu x Kikanjuu). If you haven’t heard of it, in short, it’s about a girl named Hotaru who dresses like a boy and is always mistaken as a boy. In fact, pretty much everyone except her friend Kanae think she’s a boy. Hotaru’s the student council president at her school and she’s known for being a warrior of justice - she’ll come crashing out of the third floor window to beat back bullies if she has to, and because of that she’s become well-known enough that some ���bad guys” will stop just at the sight of her.

One day, for various reasons, she ends up fighting a host in a host club regarding an injustice done to her friend. The fight is done a la “survival game” - they use incredibly realistic bb guns. Hotaru destroys most of the club in the fight, and later has to pay off her debt by joining the host’s survival game team called Toy ✰ Gun Gun, which has one other member - a guy who has a pretty amusing personality that swings between being standoffish to anyone else but sometimes randomly super cute when it comes to the host. He and the host are childhood friends who didn’t see each other for years during high school and later reconnected as adults.

What I love about the series would take too long to list but I’ll overview in that Hotaru herself is fucking BOSS. I love her SO MUCH. She’s hilarious because she has this extreme sense of justice which is super cute and wonderful, since she gets super fucking intense super quick if she perceives an injustice happened, but once it’s been remedied she’s instantly fine again. She doesn’t ever go evil herself, which is really cool. Also, she’s HORRIBLE at aiming XD Her gun skills are the actual worst, which I love for a flaw in a bb gun game series, however her instincts, speed, strength and stamina are practically unparalleled. I really love that a female is able to be all these things and it doesn’t have to detract from anything else about her or they didn’t have to make her be some super big boobed cutesy girl to compensate the otherwise “masculinity.” She just gets to be a female who, yeah, is mistaken for a boy, but she never tells people she’s a boy. People just assume she is. And even with people assuming she’s a boy they’re blown away by her berserker qualities, basically, which is even cooler to know she’s female and they’d be even more shocked to realize that (given stupid gender role assumptions).

There’s a whole other subplot going on between the host and a person from his past who’s part of an elite other team, and all this stuff. I don’t want to get into it because of spoilers but it’s very interesting. The host himself (Matsuoka) is a nice dude who’s also just generally a really good guy. I like that they have one of his merits as a gamer be that as a host he has to be aware of minute movements of clients to anticipate their every move, and because of that he’s super good at being perceptive in the field. The other member (Yukimura) is great for soooo many reasons I can’t list because the main reason he’s great is part of a really funny reveal a bit after you meet him and I don’t want to ruin that funny part. Kanae, Hotaru’s school friend, is SO GREAT because she’s this beautiful girl who’s stereotypically super feminine in her looks (big boobs, curvy, long hair, big eyes, beautiful, wears cute clothes) but she didn’t get stuck with a “stereotypically feminine” personality. She isn’t shy and demure or any of that. She’s outspoken, definitely supportive of Hotaru but also willing to stand up for Hotaru even if that means standing up to Hotaru herself if Hotaru is really bummed about something and can’t see her own value in something, and Kanae just treats her like a normal friend who doesn’t ever question her dressing like a boy etc. She tries to get her into a skirt one time but it’s not like “EW GROSS WHY BOY CLOTHESSSSSS” and more like a fun running joke they have where she runs after her but it doesn’t feel like a threat to Hotaru or anything.

I just really love series that challenge gender stereotypes while also having a great story. Otomen did the same. There have been others as well. But it’s great because this is a shonen-type story with the main character with the greatest blood lust, enough to frighten even former mercenaries, is a high school girl who typically is really nice and cute and everyone thinks is a boy, but get justice involved and holy fucking shit Hotaru hoooolyyyy shiiit.

I’ve read through volume 8 of the manga (which is all that’s out so far in English) but will definitely be checking for more. I think there’s through volume 10 out so far in Japan?? Maybe??? I can’t tell if it’s through 9 or 10 or what. Either way, it’s an ongoing series so if you’re interested, you should check it out!

Honestly I completely randomly ran across it because right now (1/7/2018) Barnes & Noble has a “buy ANY 2 manga, get the 3rd free” sale going on and I was at the store and was intrigued by the two volumes they had so I decided to give the series a try without any context other than the about section on back and without looking up any reviews. I’m so glad I did, because I absolutely love this series! And hope others give it a try too :)

I was always naturally interested in literature; I don’t think my Dad taught me literature literally as much as taught by example. I was lucky in that I always remember reading as a kid, having a book in hand or around. I was also horribly bullied in elementary school, so literature was really my only solid friend and what I took solace in. Even today, if I’m nervous in a situation, I bring a book with me, just in case. It’s like bringing a friend with me and an escape from a situation, even if you’re really not able to escape (I have literally brought books to parties. I am sorry not sorry for being antisocial xD)

I was also lucky because I lived near our local library, so I’d take out forty books at a time, much to the chagrin of my mother (Mostly because she had to pay all the late fees if I forgot to return the books). I’ve always been a quick reader as well, and when I was seven, I wanted to be a ‘reader’ rather than strictly a ‘writer,’ whatever that entailed and despite several people telling me that ‘wasn’t a career’ (Not my parents).

I think having good literature around just led to me naturally reading more complex works of literature when I was younger. My Dad is a big fan of Tolkien and Hemingway, as well as any sort of study of ‘The Hero’s Journey’ by Joseph Campbell. If I wasn’t going to be a lawyer, I was going to be an English professor or some sort of professor (I actually started a M.A. in English Literature on a scholarship, but literally got accepted to law school two days in, so I switched), so I always like to think I became a ‘reader’ after all. I’m also applying for a Masters degree in Law in order to be lawyer who is an associate professor as well, so I can sort of have the best of both worlds: Being a professor and continuing a different sort of literature while still being vaguely employable and able to eat food. xD

(Although I did actually end up being in his Literature 12 class elective in high school. which I would have signed up for either way because my favourite subjects in high school were History and English; I was lucky because everyone in my school was mature and didn’t give me a hard time for it, and I made sure I didn’t put up my hand every question so everyone didn’t hate me xD My school also had a lot of kids whose parents were teachers, so thankfully it wasn’t an issue.)

In short: I’d say my Dad really taught me through osmosis rather than strictly. He never pushed me towards literature and I just tended to come naturally by it. My mother is a big reader as well, and my grandfather (who I share a birthday with) was as well apparently, so I think I just come by it naturally on either side. 

If you want to grow your literary skills, I’d suggest doing what I did, and really just surrounding yourself with literary greats, pushing yourself to read materials and ‘Must Read’ lists, and like anything, really immersing yourself in great literature in order to grow your reading skills (I actually read the dictionary one summer and took note of all the words I didn’t recognise: I was a very popular ten year old). I think that’s what really made me a strong reader at a young age (I was assessed at college level-reading skills at age nine, how fancy): Read Beowulf, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Dahl: Books that are still accessible to whatever age group you may be in (That short list was mostly what I read from ages six to seven), but still challenge you to think and not pound through. I guess that would be my takeaway from what my Dad naturally taught me by example. <3

My mom got me a dog. It was some kind of teacup Chihuahua-type, which is about the furthest thing possible from what I would want in a dog. So I was stressing about it (“Do I have to keep it? Is there a way I can find it a new home without hurting Mom’s feelings, or am I stuck with it?”) while I had the dog on the counter and was feeding it. All I had to feed it were these flat round dog biscuits that were almost as big as the dog’s head, so I needed to break them into pieces for it. It was sitting on the counter, trembling and snuffling and eating these biscuits, and occasionally trying to eat a bigger one and choking, and I was looking at it and sort of feeling sorry for it but also wanting to cry because I was stuck with this dog I didn’t want. ^^;

Nothing really? I can write and draw a little, but I consider those skills, not talents, so.

Hmm…about a day and a half, I think? I was up all day, then took an overnight bus and wasn’t able to fall asleep during the ride. I had also just gotten a cold, so I was exhausted and pretty miserable.

A couple faint ones. One on my hand from I-have-no-idea, and one on my forearm from losing my balance and falling on top of my cats while they were play-fighting. ^^;
