what makes you ship halbarry, mine is the amount of symbolism and moments they manifest about them being compatible with each other and even the main lore knows theybare one😭😭

sometimes I wonder why these two aren't together yet since they are basically soulmates 😭😭

This is probably the question I have been waiting for the most and for which I have to have the longest possible answer. I will try not to go too far, but I will also try not to miss any points that I consider important.

I think I can start by saying that I love their dynamic, I've always liked it. To start Barry is a more serious guy, shy and introverted, always thinking about some situation and planning. And Hal is more outgoing, noisy and confident, he NEVER plans and is too impulsive.

They are opposing poles, not radically opposed as with other characters in the league, but they remain opposing enough to provide contrast to the relationship. There's also the fact that the two of them are fully aware of those differences, and even though they don't like some at all, they've never tried to change anything between them. Even when people constantly point out how different they are and how no one understands how they are friends. (Even they can't understand how they're so close if they don't resemble each other at all)

(Personally this panel is one of my favorites, as I love how Hal immediately jumps up to Barry's tastes, making it clear that while he doesn't like to do the same things Barry does, he doesn't find it as bad or boring as some might think.)

In general, the series of “The brave and the bold” I like because it allows you to take a close look at their relationship and give us lots of interactions of them, allows us to see a little more of their real character and their friendship.

There is also the fact that in that series they constantly show how well they know each other Hal and Barry manage to combine their skills to help each other. They always take advantage of each other's ability to resolve conflicts, and even when they fight or argue, they resolve them quickly. Another of my favorite numbers is the last volume of the series, when Barry falls into a terrible and painful depression and Hal is the only one who supports him.

Literally Hal tries to have some stability in his life to let Barry stay with him, helps him like Barry has always helped him and says one of the phrases I love the most.

“The poor man needs something to hold on to, so he will stay with me, maybe our friendship will be a comfort to him, he will always be able to count on that until the day we die.”

In this same comic is where Barry tries to sacrifice himself and Hal stops him, to that I add that in a previous issue we also show that one of Hal's biggest fears is losing Barry. The thought of seeing him die or get hurt is something that scares him.

Hal's not afraid to die, he's afraid that Barry will die and it's his fault, that I can't save him. And that point added to everything that's going on with Parallax and Crisis on Infinite Earths feels like a stab for both of them.

It's fucking tragic.

Generally in many moments of Hal as Parallax or The Wraith, Hal talks about Barry, continues to talk about how amazing he was as a person and a hero, talks about how he remains his best friend even though Barry is still dead. (That reminds me a lot of when I'm with my friends and some of them start talking about their boyfriends even though they're not there and we didn't talk about them originally)

And when they both revive, Barry constantly lets him know that everything that happened with Parallax wasn't him and tries to support him, try to be there for him for as long as he couldn't help him when his friend needed him the most.

We also have the fact that Barry has canonically been a blue lantern, and well, hope and willpower isn't exactly two opposing poles, on the contrary, it's likely that both entities are reciprocal forces. That they stick together and support each other, just like Hal and Barry do.

I also like to think that they had a somewhat similar childhood.

Both lost a father or mother, and that led to the loss of the rest of their family and childhood, they had to grow up faster than the other children, became more independent, and soon discovered that the world was cruel and unjust.

Although we also have other universes like:

The universe of Injustice where the two of them continue to support each other and remain together despite the mess that is around them, and there is even a panel where Hal as a yellow lantern is going to rescue Barry after Constantine abducted him.

Or we also have the fact that red and green in the chromatic circle are two opposite or complementary colors that are usually used when you want to create a harmony on a visual level. That is, from the choice of colors we can know perfectly well that they are opposite poles, but they complement each other so well that it creates a visual harmony when you see them together. (For some reason Christmas usually uses these two colors as its main ones).

There's also the fact that Hal and Barry met before the league was formed, and even when they met Batman and Superman, Hal wanted him and Barry to work it out on their own. (Barry refused because someone has to put prudence on their duo)

And we have the fact that in the story of how they met, Hal calls it his “first date”. (Let's pretend he didn't say that when he and Barry weren't literally on what looked like a date, where they went to dinner at a restaurant where there was live jazz music and Hal actually had a good time sitting on Barry's cell phone).

(Hal hates jazz, but he's still there with Barry at a dinner party while putting up with music he doesn't really like. That's pretty.)

I think it was also in this comic where Hal lets Barry use his ring to get you both out of there.

There's also universe 36 where we have two variants of Green Lantern and Flash that canonically speaking are couple. It is worth remembering that the two of them did not stay together, since in an event they participated in, the Flash of their universe dies. (It seems there can't be a crisis without a sprinter dying) Luckily at DC Pride they made the green lantern of their land look for their Flash, and they revived and were happy.

(They're supposed to be neither Hal nor Barry, but the truth, their designs and even their names feel like very inspired by them, so I scored it as a little extra point although I don't know if you can consider it).

We have DC vampires that although in that universe, Hal kills Barry because they won't let him turn him into a vampire because he would end up killing everybody. Hal finally gives us that line where he admits that he REALLY wanted to conquer the world with Barry, which kind of fuels his tragic gay romance.

Anyway, I would like to go longer, but I can't find some panels that I was looking for to explain me more, plus I feel that this is already long enough and meaningless to make it clear that I love them both. I just want to add that I think probably the thing I like most about them is that they both admire each other. Both their heroic parts and their civilian parts, and I think that's very sweet and nice, added to the fact that they're always there trying to support each other or show off parts of their personality that you can't appreciate with all their friends to the same extent. I like that they always have symbolism and like many times in the comics it refers to some moments that they have lived together. This makes me have the theory in my head that maybe some cartoonists and writers also like them in a sense beyond friendship, but since NOBODY dares to take the leap of faith and make them canon, they let us drop some crumbs so as not to lose faith.

We've only got 3 eps so far but I'm going off vibes~

• idk if they'd be the type to have a serious relationship, i see them more as a situationship kind of guys

• there's a LOT of casual touch, i feel they're super comfortable with each other (also, im obsessed with how Beebs just picks him up like he weighs a couple of grapes)

• since ep3 messed me up, i feel like Beebs might be one the few people Shirke tried to rectify his behavior for. He seems like he values his comfort a lot and for him to just watch his shows in his room so Beebs can play guitar in peace says A LOT about his respect for this guy

• they also just like to be in the same room while they do their own thing

• IN MY HEART OF HEARTS I K N O W BEEBS DEVELOPED FEELING FIRST

• Shrike is OBLIVIOUS AF, when Beebs was first teaching him guitar, he tried to do that that thing where they guide his hands with his own hands to the strings all cute, but it just went over Shrike's head. That probably discoruaged Beebs at first but after seeing Shrike earnestly trying to get better at guitar made him realize he was probably oblivious

• if im being honest, idk if they'd ever formally get together, i just feel like they fell into a very comfortable state of domesticity and just,, started acting like an old married couple

• speaking of!!! They often get confused for one. Shrike is like ??? And beebs just doesn't deny it

• They still keep separate rooms but visit each other for cartoons, guitar, just talking and cuddling probably

• SPEAKING OF!!! Beebs is probably the most cuddleable man alive, Shrike scored the lottery with this giant teddy bear of a man

TanZen Week Day 2 - Haori / Proposal / Soulmates AU / Monsters

HIIII AGAIN!! let's go with the second day

You might think that I'm only fond of long haired Zenitsu, but no! I love Tanjiro with long hair too. A real shame he didn't have more screen time haha ​​:'(

Originally it was just going to be the first image for this prompt, which is based on a drawing of Tsubasa Reservoir (should I attach it too?) because I really couldn't figure out what to do. But, a couple of days ago, the inspiration came to me resulting on this little comic uwu.

I don't go too deep into the story, but basically Tanjiro is a demon that doesn't eat humans and tries to stay as far away from them as possible, living by himself up in the mountain (?). While Zenitsu is an orphan with no one to look out after him.

Somehow they meet, either because one or the other goes down or up the mountain. And, after Zenitsu gets the scare of his life thinking he would be eaten, they become friends (because of course Tanijrou's sound is still kind).

Eventually their feelings go beyond friendship and well, the mutual pinning starts haha

The idea of ​​taking a bite out of your partner upon marriage (engagement?) comes from Tokyo Ghoul, and I thought it would be cute if a scaredy-cat like Zenitsu was willing to go to such lengths just to make things right for the one he loves. I really don't think Tanjirou actually bit him though haha

I do like the head cannon that gary might be repressing his sexuality

Like it's barely looked at or even made apparent in bully, but his casual homophobia of the time could mask that. He does seem to have a sort of obsession with jimmy and a homophobic attitude twords Pete. I do think in the back of his mind at the very least he did have a romantic flare for the two or at least flet that feeling poking out.

We don't get any hints of his family life, but I so think it's similar to jimmy where his family didn't really want to deal with him. I feel like that was the most important part of his general attitude and behavior. In the final battle, jimmy even asked why Gary would even do all this, even going as far as to think of Gary as a friend, and Gary straight up doesn't buy it

Maybe he doesn't trust anyone because he was snubbed years back by friends or family.

If you notice nobody likes gary and nobody sees him as sane. Only Crabblesnich likes him but not out of his true personality but a lie and a facade.

I wonder just how different of a character he could have been if he took his meds,trusted Jimmy , treated Pete better, and opened up

One of the biggest criticisms given to Gai is that he only trained Rock Lee to kick Neji's prodigy ass, without making an effort to train Neji or even remembering Tenten.

Gai gave his students what they needed. Neji was given respect and recognition as a formidable ninja while urging Lee to catch up, while Tenten was given all the materials (where do you think Tenten got the scrolls, dudes) she needed like the knowledge to master each weapon.

Hey! I've been thinking about this ask these days and I think... I could? I mean, now we can have up to 12 options for polls and this would be a lot of fun! I'm not adding it right now because I should decide well what are the rules for a dress to be considered multicoloured and stuff that takes time I don't have, but this could be the last category of the tournament before we do the finals with all the winners (and how will I do these is already a problem, so yep be ready for this to take many time).

Also, I've tecnically added a multicoloured dress for the orange comp because it has a lot of orange in it but I don't think we had too many of them in the other comps so this could still work without repeating dresses 🧡

I've been thinking a lot about Harry and running in Disco Elysium and I wanted to compile all of my screenshots in a long post somewhere. It's a game mechanic being justified by the story but if you are willing to take it a bit seriously (have fun with me!) it does give you some insights on the characters I believe.

I find it very funny that Kim understands really quickly how important it is for Harry to be running around and will use it to calm him down. Like that one time where he has to drag him out and take him on a walk after he tries to put his gun in his mouth or after Harry gets sad during the pleasure wheel scene.

It's also worth mentioning how Jean and Kim differ on this topic, I'm always thinking about the contrast between the two lines below. Kim is also genuinely impressed by his endurance.

The whole running thing is used as a metaphor a lot, but I will leave the analysis to smarter people. You also have all the parallels between Harry and Idiot Doom Spiral (both addicts with memory issues). IDS only remember losing his life because he got locked out of his house after a run. It's hard not to project some sort of metaphor on his story. The game tells you that they both used running as a way to control their mental health but all the running around did not save them though...

Also, on a pure physical level, isn't it interesting how good Harry is at endurance running?

While Jean and Harry himself will comment on the way you have "let yourself go" physically, I have a really hard time believing that Harry wasn't still training regularly in his 40's. Or maybe the insane amount of Jamrock shuffling that his work required was already equivalent to to a training harsh enough to make him capable of running for hours while being extremely sick.

The distance covered is not anything crazy according to that one "30km" line (I reach it around day 3 personally), but I think it gets interesting when you take into account that even in your condition you literally outrun Kim! A guy who is not currently dying, who prefers running for his training, and who seems to be the type of person who would train at least semi-regularly. That was so shocking to me the first time I played the game lmao.

Maybe I'm overinterpreting how badly he is doing physically and I shouldn't be so impressed but to me, Harry's body is shutting down. Some skills say that he's weeks/days away from dying, he shows serious signs of liver damage, he's addicted to drugs, cigarettes and alcohol. All things considered, he's running extremely well!

It seems to me that at his peak Harry must have been genuinely great, and I mean above the level expected of a gym teacher. During the balcony scene, you can say that you are running a lot because you want to train for a charity run. It seems that he says this out of nowhere/as a joke but it doesn't seem far-fetch at all to assume that Harry used to do some races or at least wanted to. You will always start the game with high running capabilities which is not the case at all for every other physical activitiy. (I see fanon Harry often associated with heavy lifting which is not wrong at all but I think people should start drawing him with a hydration vests more, he's a runner before anything else in my heart lol)

Anyways, I've been collecting all sorts of lines about running because I love them all.

FINISH WITH ONE OF THE THOUSAND THEORIES THAT I HAVE FROM DHMIS 😭

Family theory: Roy and Leslie were a very happy couple who had two children, everything was happiness and love, until one day David (the younger brother) had a car accident. The boy was running after a kite and in that he was run over by a car. killing him instantly (or maybe not)

after that, the whole family started having problems. Leslie went crazy because she was obsessed with having two children, and since now she only had one left, she could do everything possible to fill the void that David had left.

Roy also missed his son very much and probably developed too many mental problems from his loss. even though he, too, was fed up with Leslie's obsession.

and the older brother... he suffered a great depression and guilt thanks to what happened, which increased more and more, since his parents were so involved in their worlds that they did not pay attention to him again.

During that time, Leslie convinced Roy to adopt a son. (this will sound very strange, but most likely that child who adopted is Red Guy)

(Not all of them, since the only day he can do as he pleases is June 19. Father's Day, otherwise Leslie is in control)

and lastly David. he is in the world Leslie wanted to take them to, just not with his family. but let's remember that David, like his brother, died and was transferred to a puppet with a life of its own. so david is now just another character in yellow guy's brain. in this he is represented as his friend, but he is really the person with whom he shares a body

who is david and who is yellow guy?

well David is represented in the way we saw him throughout the series, an innocent child, a bit silly, with attention deficit and hyperactivity.

while yellow guy is the smart guy we see in the last chapter, this can be clarified since to wake him up they had to change his batteries. And let's remember that the original body in the world of don't hug me i'm scared is the puppet. this also hints at why Leslie yelled at him "YOU ARE NOT MY REAL SON!" because the one who was speaking at that moment was the puppet, not David.
