🤩 Who is someone in your rpc that you admire?
Unconventional munday asks!
🤩 Who is someone in your rpc that you admire?
(( aside from yourself? owo. whose positivity and passion is ALWAYS inspiring? well, i'm gonna limit myself to listing a few people here because if i list everyone, i will be here ALL day -
@midgarwhispers | amazing plots, mature & down to earth discussion, incredible writing, interesting muse, great GREAT dynamics, lovely ooc chat. i have so much admiration for this sweet lil carbuncle ( i say lil, she a giant ) - i've just had so many fun discussions and plots this year with her & ooc-wise, i cannot stress how kind & lovely she is. i just - urgh - 10/10 - massively recommend.
@stingslikeabee | when wont i waffle on about mari and how much i love her? you want mature, well-written content? you want an interesting oc who can squeeze into any kind of universe? you want a down-to-earth, interesting & intelligent mun with whom you can chatter everything from adult chat to films & culture? mari's a legend. i will forever simp.
@cloudvii | anything sayj touches turns to gold, honestly. not to say cloud wasn't already gold but - look - i admire sayj's passion and interest in their muses. their headcanons are in depth and powerful, but they're never without reason. like - they always make sense & make you do a double take and a little 'ahhhh!' when you read them because they're so interesting & in tune with the character. i just really adore what sayj does with the characters that they pick up. and their respect / appreciation for og? *mwah*.
@phoenix-flamed | hot damn, vonny. where do i even begin? i didn't follow vonny until fairly recently-ish. i jumped on them on my sylv blog and was barely there so HAD to grab em with heid and i just- the rpc should consider itself blessed to have such a wonderful write & a wonderful person in their midst. vonny's elwin is so incredibly weaved that i would read a book about him written by them; i always admire someone who picks up a side-character but someone who then gives that side character a well-crafted story, interesting headcanons and pushes it all with infectious enthusiasm and passion? sign me the F up. like, GODDAMN. and as a person? vonny is so incredibly sweet, someone i'd love to bug more honestly because wow. & on a personal note, someone who did something recently for me that really helped me in a great & personal way. i just - <3 - so much love and respect in my soul for this one.
@svnsworn | light is somebody who if you say to me 'recommend a user', im gonna recommend her. she jumps to the forefront of my mind like a lil froggy. i always mess up when trying to run multis but she makes it look EASY. the AMOUNT of times that light has told me a headcanon about a character and i've gone 'holy shit! of course!' she has that knack for spotting those details, and then expanding on them. and no matter who she chooses - from leon to luna - she injects this love & insight into them that they truly deserve. she's really incredible and there isn't a day i wouldn't recommend her. and as a person? light is always lovely. like, alwAYS.
@rikelusshinra & @ofgeneticperfection & @ivory-paragon & @steeleidolon | I DIDN'T WANNA KEEP LISTING EVERYONE CAUSE IF I DO THAT I'LL CRY CAUSE THERE'S SO MANY AMAZING PEOPLE TO WRITE AMAZING THINGS ABOUT BUT I DID WANNA MENTION THESE GUYS -
i look at them and i see original final fantasy vii. i see a love and passion for the media that has spanned years. i see these unique insights into characters / ocs & i just admire them a lot. i see them as being like, the people that all ffvii rpers should look up to and aspire to be. i just admire them a lot & love seeing them on my dash.

hey!! So, about Bombshell, his pronouns are he/they, sorry for not clarifying!! :p their personality is like Hobie Brown from ATS, basically just an anarchist who goes against higher ups. They are very loyal, as their family gave him up as a kid, landing in the hands of moths who worshipped a moon god. Not traditional with the type of moth he is (brown moth). And so, he has been somewhat judged for this, that and how he has no wings that can fly, but he is loyal to his family for taking him in and loyal to the Shadow Wizard Money Gang (yes, that’s the organization name) who took him in as well. He can be intimidating, most of the time, again due to his height, but also in that he doesn’t talk much. (Opposite of me. When he does, he can sound intimidating, despite his voice, as he makes threats and such to the enemy. But if he likes you, he will always give you hugs or head pats. :)
Awh man, I love Bombshell, he's so very cool! Where did they get their nickname Bombshell from, though? Because while it may sound really cool, it's also so very different from his real name :o Would he ever want to fly? It's fascinating that he can't, but I wonder if he ever dreamt about doing so before! Also Hobie Brown is such a cool character, I loved that guy in ATSV! So I can already tell that Bombshell is a lovely moth lit! Now that I have some grasp of what they are like, I do agree that them and Arya would get along! Arya is a little bastard and instigator, though, so you can expect her to go along with something stupid and chaotic, or even suggest such a thing! Your session sounds like it must have been a lot of fun, especially if you made up an organization called Shadow Wizard Money Gang! Also!! Hugs and headpats :D Who doesn't love that sort of thing!! That makes me like him so much more too!!! He's great and I love him!! Have you ever drawn him or have you ever had someone else draw him? :>

Ok I deleted my rant yesterday about stan culture being ridiculous. But today I see people on twitter responding to the Little Shop account attempting to get Evan fired - because she dared to accuse Marylin Manson of abuse.
That there is the danger of stan culture - going so far as to help your favourite celeb bully his former victims.

KOMUI LEE Chinese | 29 years old Height: 193cm (6'4) Weight: 79kg (174lbs) Birthday: June 13th Gemini, blood type AB A scientific prodigy brimming with curiosity... it would seem. At this point in history, people tended to call scientists "magicians" or "alchemists". By that measure, all the golems and odd gadgets at the Order were created by Science Division "magicians". I do wonder why Komui turned out so weird... I actually based his character on my manager, Yoshida-shi11, but perhaps I should keep that little tidbit to myself.

FOOTNOTES
Title: 室長 shitsuchou is a pretty flexible civilian title that applies to someone who is managing or coordinating a section or division within a larger organization. In this case, Komui is the division director of the Science Division, which runs Exorcist HQ, but the Order itself is a larger organization and contains other sections presumably led by other people. [ ♠ ]
Honourific: 兄さん niisan "elder brother". Honestly, this is the one thing I hesitated longest over when deciding to leave out honourifics: what to make Lenalee call her brother. I tried just using "brother" at first, but it didn't work with the rest of the translation style, so I moved to "Komui", which also bothered me (though slightly less). I have seven siblings myself, so I thought about what we do, and realized that in English, we generally only call people by name or title if we're trying to get their attention or specify who we're speaking to. Therefore, my current compromise: a) In direct conversation when it's clear who she's addressing, don't call him anything. b) If she is trying to get his attention, specify, or give him heck, use his name (again, as a sibling normally would). c) In third-person conversation, refer to him as "my brother" so that their relationship remains clear. I know it still reads a bit funny for all of us who have previously read more direct and literal translations, but please bear with it. [ ♠ ]
Title: 元帥 gensui. Most versions translate this term as "general". I suspect that's because most previous translators were working in the US, where that is the highest attainable military rank. The more direct translation of the word, however, is "marshal", and in the European countries where this story is largely set, that is the highest rank (often specified as "field marshal", as in "one who marshals troops in the field"). [ ♠ ]
Title: 神父 shinpu "(Catholic) priest, reverend father, minister, padre". As Exorcists all double as Catholic clergypersons, it would make sense for higher-ranking members to be called "Father" or "Sister" so-and-so. [ ♠ ]
Yes, literally x-ray vision. The Gatekeeper is such a great example of the Order's magiscience, which is obviously far ahead of the rest of the world; Allen hitchhiked and walked his way across Eurasia to get there because there are no major railroads yet, but the Order has projected screens and radiography. [ ♠ ]
Yeah, that "pentacle" (which also showed up on the cover of 003, but I forgot to mention it then) is actually the sigil of Baphomet in the western Esoteric tradition, and both the sigil and western Esotericism will come up again. The linked wiki is quite long, and there are a lot of potential meanings one could infer. I don't feel prepared to guess what Hoshino was specifically after with this one just yet. [ ♠ ]
Term: 城内 jounai "within castle walls" (HQ is often referred to as "the castle"). Reever's asking which Exorcists are currently present at HQ to respond to the situation. Relevant to the name of the next chapter. [ ♠ ]
English doesn't really have a perfect corollary to 殺気 sakki, "murder-feeling", a very shounen-manga term that refers to directed homicidal intent and operates in much the same way as one might "feel" eyes on the back of their neck. Allen feels Kanda's intent to kill him and is appropriately alarmed. [ ♠ ]
六幻 mugen "six" + "illusion(s)". Invented compound. There are other possible translations of "gen", such as "phantom", "vision", or "apparition", or even "rare mythical treasure", but I agree with other translators that "illusion" makes the most sense in context. [ ♠ ]
Title: 班長 hanchou "foreman", "squad/group/team leader". While Komui is the head of the whole division and responsible for all manner of non-science things, Reever — his direct subordinate and right-hand man — manages the scientists in their actual day-to-day work. The difference between "general manager" and "operations manager", basically. [ ♠ ]
Also known as "Y-shi". A name to remember. [ ♠ ]

Champion (6/20): Having Made It Through the Night
cham·pi·on — /ˈCHampēən/
(n) - a person who fights or argues for a cause or on behalf of someone else
(v) - support the cause of; defend — "I don't want these powers. They're too much."
Reigen said he would bear any burden too big for Mob.
He doesn't have psychic powers any more.
He won't hurt anyone any more.
Those thoughts kept spinning around and around in Mob's head as he helped Reigen pick up the mess in his office. Knowing why he felt the way he did—lighter and more free, happier even—was exhilarating. He felt...wonderful. He felt—
"Shishou?" Reigen looked up from where he was gathering pens off the ground by hand. "Will I still be working?"
"What do you mean?" Reigen went a little pale and a lot sweaty. Mob felt a wave of fuzzy pressure roll over him. His mouth tasted like cigarette smoke and hurt like he smiled too wide for too long.
"What I mean is: I don't have my powers anymore. Will I still be working here, with you?" The thought of not working alongside his shishou hadn't occurred to Mob until literally just then, but it was worrying. He was worried.
He could feel worried without it becoming a horrible feedback loop that caused an explosion.
He felt giddy because he could feel worried.
"Well, yeah?" Reigen seemed affronted he had even asked. "In what world would I abandon you just because you couldn't help with exorcisms or curse removal? It'd be like throwing away your computer just because the battery died. You get me?"
No, but he trusted Reigen. If he said he didn't have to stop, that was enough. "What would I do, though?"
"Work the desk, like you always do." It seemed like the simplest answer in the whole world. It was breathtaking, how easy it was for his shishou to come to conclusions quickly and stick to his conviction. "I'm not going to put you in danger. You keep smiling at our clients and running the till and I'll do all the heavy lifting, okay?"
"Okay."
Behind Mob, Ritsu made some kind of harsh noise. Hanazawa laughed, once, and Ritsu hissed at him. All of this was just low enough that Mob couldn't tell what they were actually saying but, if his little brother was exchanging LINE with Hanazawa, then good for him. He deserved more intelligent esper role models in his life, even if he didn't like shishou all that much.
"A-ny-way!" Reigen gestured about, a few objects levitating near him. He noticed and snatched them out of the air before continuing his thought. "I'm kinda attached. Aren't I your shishou?"
"Yes."
"Then know I won't ever abandon you! Powers or not, you're my student, Mob, and I'll always be here for you!"
That's what he wanted to be when he grew up. He wanted to be as confident and kind and in-control as Reigen. He wanted to be able to say things and mean them immediately. He wanted to never worry about hurting anyone accidentally. He wanted to help people too.
Reigen took his awed silence as an answer and clapped him on the shoulder. "Alright! Now all of you, get out! I need to clean up and maybe take a mallet to this cabinet. See if I can smack out the dent...can't afford a new one."
"See you tomorrow!" Mob didn't want to leave without saying goodbye, even if Ritsu and Hanazawa were already on their way out. Ritsu, thankfully, was waiting by the door for him.
"No, not tomorrow. Gonna close down for the day. Doctor's appointment." Reigen waved a hand from where he was rearranging the items on his desk.
Mob frowned. Wouldn't he have scheduled the appointment on a day Spirits and Such wasn't open? Unless this was a last-minute thing to do with the Seventh Division thing?
"Yeah, yeah," Ritsu cut in. "Goodbye!"
Reigen waved one hand at them again, still bent over working on his desk. Mob raised his own hand in an unseen farewell, then followed his brother and Hanazawa out the door and down to the sidewalk outside the building.
