just a reminder that people who create fanwork do not owe you anything. writing fanfiction, drawing fanart etc is entirely voluntary and something that should be done for fun!! putting pressure on someone to put out the next chapter of their fic isn't helping anyone, especially since most fandom creators are students and/or have a job, and also just. have a life. they have friends and family and things to do. and to people who create content, thank you!! you're appreciated!!

Having a well trained and trusting puppy is so special because I can just start it on a schedule of supplements for its health, tell it that master knows what's best and that it will feel much better with all the vitamins healthy puppies need. It wouldn't even mind that I threw in a lactation supplement as well, just nuzzling my palm happily as its tits leak onto the floor. So trusting in its master that as the effects of the aphrodisiac set in, suddenly lost in a strong heat, it only wants to cling to its master and drool on my thigh as it ruts its puppycock against the toe of my boot.

Look, I'm all for old movie remakes and all, but something about the idea of getting a remake of Electric Dreams puts me on edge. The movie is very much 80s, and I am worried the remake will not carry that over. The whole vibe of the move is just the pinnacle of 80s, and I just have a feeling that vibe will be completely lost in the remake. If they modernize the movie at all, which they likely will, it just won't feel Electric Dreams enough to me. If they make Edgar a modern computer or change the time period at all, it will ruin the entire thing for me anyway. And I'm worried about the actors they will choose for Miles and Madeline and if they will keep the same vibe as the original. Electric Dreams is really important to me, it's one of my special interests, so yes the idea of a remake was exciting at first but now I'm not so sure. I don't want the remake to wreck the entire movie. Then again, if the movie turns out to be decent, I'm just not sure if the Electric Dreams fandom will feel the same as it did before it came out. It's a cult classic 80s movie, and having a modern 2023 remake will just make it loose a lot of charm in my eyes and it will feel more like I'm just a test subject for big corporations to remake old movies just to appeal to so they can squeeze money out of me. That's just my opinion on the matter though, I'm still planning to throw a party with friends when the remake does come out and will watch it excitedly, just no matter how the remake goes I don't know how i will feel about it.

Mike's behavior in season 3
I find Mike's behavior in S3 a little curious and suspicious, as always he is trying to deny some things or his behavior in this season, and it has importance in the next season. I will try to make my thoughts make sense, because I don't know how to explain myself most of the time ghfdsjk
Throughout the third season, we see how Mike does not want to play D&D with Will, or how he says that games are for children, and they are no kids anymore, that they have grown up, and how Mike focuses more on El, because she is his girlfriend. even Will points this out in the rain fight. That Will thought yes, that they were always going to play together, but Mike answers that no, that they are not kids anymore (Which is quite funny, because later in S4 it is seen that Mike wanted to play D&D, that's why he ends up joining the hellfire club with Dustin, and since at the end of S3 he doesn't want Will to put the game in the donation box)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In short, he believes that since he is older, it is normal for you to stop liking games, and to behave less like a child. But still, Mike is desperate to play D&D again, with Will, and other games, and he shows it at the end of the season, both in Hopper's dialogue (I'll show it later) and in the last scene they have together this season
In the last episode, Mike shows his concern about losing Will, thinking Will will join another party, or not playing with Will again (although he has previously shown that he was not interested in playing with him).
And it is a curious contrast, how with Will he is not afraid to show that he wants to continue playing with him, and he is afraid of losing him (Even if he doesn't say it, we can see it) And how with El he has to pretend, and remember himself "That made me sound like a seven-year-old" although he doesn't think that and he's really excited to be able to play, because you can tell he says it with some enthusiasm, but he ends up retracting it, and saying that it sounds like a kid, which is he's been saying all season. And it's not until she says "I like presents, too" that Mike says "Yeah, I like- I like presents too."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I don't know, it just seems to me that Mike is trying to behave in a way that is not him, when he is with El (Beyond the most obvious), since all the times that Mike has tried to be funnier she didn't like it, like in episode 1 when Mike is singing and Eleven tries to silence him, or in episode 4 when Mike takes the mannequin to try to make a joke and Eleven makes a bad face, but anyways
Mike is afraid of losing Will, he is AFRAID that things will change between them, and Hopper's dialogue (Which is very important here) is VERY them, and is made to show the emotions of Will and Mike, but above all Mike, perfectly reflecting Mike's feelings throughout this season and next, and, perhaps explaining his behavior this season
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this scene the focus is on Mike, the camera focuses on Mike, because they are Mike's feelings towards Will, Will even says that, in the painting scene, I don't have a photo of that, but in 4x08, minute 17:25, Will says "Or she[I] seemed like she[I] was pushing you away is because she's[I] scared of losing you, like you're scared of losing her" they both feel like they're pulling away from each other
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I was worrying too much about El" This is what Will what he said to Mike in the rain fight, and Mike admits it, he was worrying a lot about Eleven, and he was leaving his friends aside, a parallel to Nancy, in the first season, that when she was dating Steve, she left Barbara, her best friend, alone. "I feel I lost you or something" Mike felt like he was losing Will, who is also named in Hopper's dialogue, taking into account that during those 6 months they spend apart, Mike calls Will, but Will almost never answered. + the whole season 3 theme, Mike worrying a lot about El, and feeling like he was losing him
Honestly, in their heart-to-heart there are many references to Hopper's dialogue, and they are always referring to pulling away from the other, feeling lost, or losing the other.
Continuing with Hopper's dialogue, just after saying "You're pulling me away or something" he says:
Tumblr media
"I miss playing board games every night" D&D is a board game, and in S1, you can see that the party played at night, but they don't play as much as before, because they have grown up, and Mike misses that, just like many other things
Tumblr media
The dialogue then continues talking about other things, referring to El, to Joyce, but suddenly it focuses on Mike, when he says "Changing" Mike is changing, he knows it ("Mike is trying to be as normal as possible"), but he is afraid of changing, and that things will change too
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then, when he says that he doesn't want things to change, because he's afraid, the focus is on Will, that means that he doesn't want things to change with Will, he's afraid, he's afraid of losing him, and taking into account that before he says " You're a pulling away from me or something", so Mike has felt a change, and it scares him. There has been a clear rift between Will and him since S1, and that is why season 4, he says "I feel I lost you" and "I think it'll be easier if we're a team. Friend. Best friends" he corrects himself, remembering Will's words at Rink-O-Mania when Will told him "We used to be best friends."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really don't know what it is referring to here, other than that Mike wants to stop that change, and make things go back to the way they were between him and Will. It reminds me of the scene where Mike goes crying to his mother after seeing Will's "dead body", and his mother hugs him to comfort him.
Now, let's talk a little about the songs at the end of the season
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this scene The First I love you plays, when El says I love you to Mike, and they kiss. But can we see Mike with a slightly... confused face? He doesn't return the kiss, he stays with his eyes open, Mike is in front of a closet (in Will's room) And with a light in his head, I don't know. And we could say that the title of the song is romantic and this song is made for them, because El tells him I love you and they kiss, but that song also appears in a scene that is a coming out of the closet...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The First I love you (The "love you" is not in capital letters, considering that all the song titles in Stranger Things are in capital letters, which I think the song does not have such a romantic meaning) It also plays when Robin tells Steve that she is a lesbian, and that in reality she didn't like him, but rather the girl who kept looking at him. And it's even more curious, because The First I love you, is a remix of The First Lie, which plays when Jonathan and Nancy kiss for the first time, after saying that they were just friends, and they didn't like each other (a Lie ). And in the two scenes where The First I love you plays, there is a lie, and a confession, or a truth that comes to light, I wouldn't say it's entirely like that, because Mike doesn't say it with words, but with body language, as I said before, not kissing back (in front of a closet) and then looking confused
(Here the songs, at least to me, they sound almost the same)
And taking this into account, we can say that The First I love you is more platonic than romantic + a lie
Steve tells Robin (who at that moment has a crush on Robin) that he likes her, and Robin tells him that she is not like the other girls, because she likes girls, and that is the first lie, when she implied that he was the one she liked, but in the end she ended up being honest with him.
Mike doesn't kiss El back when she kisses him (who at that moment has a crush on Mike) He doesn't even say anything, but Mike implies that he likes El, but that's Mike's first lie, he doesn't like girls, he doesn't like El in that way, because he likes boys.
And honestly, the fact that the one song, called The First I love you, plays in a coming out scene, and in another where Mike doesn't kiss El back and then gets confused is very… well, and taking into account that it is a remix of The First Lie…
But well, that's it for my analysis, thank you for reading it and sorry if it was too long, or it was not understood as I wanted it to be understood, but hey, Byler Endgame :)

No but imagine kevin and neil facetiming during night practice after kevin goes pro because neither of them are used to practicing alone. Andrew is there because of course he is.
Neil would set up a laptop on the home bench and Andrew would sit down beside it to watch both kevin and neil practice amd they'd come up and talk to him during breaks
Even after andrew graduates he still joins the call to watch them. Night after night, without fail, he watches them play.
And sometimes, on sleepless nights, neil sits near a window at the tower, calls kevin and just- talks. Talks about exy, about classes, about how the new freshmen are hopeless and andrew's new coach reminds him of wymack.
How neil took a younger fox to exites, and how it reminded him of when kevin took him to buy a new racquet. How nicky used to make them tea on quiet nights and aaron would begrudgingly sit down beside neil with a stack of notes from class.
Some nights kevin would sit in the little balcony of his apartment, warm blanket around his shoulders, and call andrew. And sometimes they'd rest in comfortable silence, each other's prescenece was all they needed.
Other times andrew would let kevin talk about whatever historical period he was obsessed with that the time. Letting his words wash over him and fill and soften the tense silence of the night. Andrews shoulders would relax for the first time that night, his heart would calm, he'd sink into the comfort that was kevin, right tbere on the other end of the line, fully prepared to stay all night, morning practice be damned.
The first night kevin comes back home to palmetto, he sleeps in the monsters' dorm. No one says a word about it. And no one mentions how this is the most well rested neil has been in weeks.
The first time kevin and neil practice together after kevin went pro? No one dares come between them. Even as andrew took his place at the goal.
They snap back together as of they'd never been apart. They weave around each other, perfecting each impossible pass and play. Kevin taught neil every new trick and drill. Andrew stood immovable at the goal, seemingly ignoring kevin's proud (and a little smug) smile and neil's open grin, making the the striker duo struggle for every goal. Andrew's patience would soon run out, the next night he would simply watch from the bleachers. But for now, he indulged them.
Come morning they'd have to acknowledge the fact that their time was short. Some they'd all be pulled apart into different worlds, different courts, so far away from home, but that was tomorrow.
Tonight there were here. Tonight they were home.

Maybe I'm just really dumb for only realising this now, but I was finally reading BSD and I noticed something that I have never seen anyone talking about, but I belive it to be important
Has anyone else notice that when we learn about Ranpo and the creation of the ADA, wich happend like 12 years ago, it all had to do with a group that was referred to as V, wich initially we thought it meant the letter, but later we found out it actually refered to the number 5 in roman algorithms. The thing is, in the more recents events, turns out that the group V was the same as the Decay of Angels, and here lies the problem
As we know, the five members of de DOA are Fyodor, Nikolai, Fukuchi, Bram and Sigma, who was created by the book only 3 years prior to the events of BSD
So, basically, the events of 12 years ago the we are shown, that mentions all the five members of DOA, are already an altered reality by the book (we've already seen that if someone writes something in the book, the people involved and affected by said events have their memories altered to fit the narrative)
Ranpo backstory is an altered piece of reality caused by the creation of Sigma through the book. And we don't know if there was anything else that we've read that is an altered reality as well!!

i hate politics so much. it's the only place where it's acceptable to call your opponent all these horrible fucking things and call a whole group of people dangerous dirty criminals for wanting to live. it's just so hard to watch people who are just like me and people who have lives so different from me each be degraded by two parties and have nothing but contempt for each other. i'm not saying that everyone has to fucking agree on everything but holy shit can we just be nicer to each other ??

Hiii I love your blog and I love phylogeny so I am so excited for the classification you said you were making! I wanted to ask how you were gonna do the reptils and adjacent? Because i don't think there are many examples of skulls in the games (I might be wrong i don't know much about eso in particular) so what basis are you going on to separate like diapsids/anapsids/dinosauria/etc? I know we can see dragons skulls in Skyrim (but i don't remember their morphology) but what about Alit and Guar and Kagouti and cliff racers and such? And Argonians? Are you putting them in the same group or does the Hist cause a bug enough divergence that they get their own?
Sorry if I come off as pushy or rude, it's not my intention. I'm just very enthusiastic about this topic :D
aaaaaa thank you!! And you're no bother at all, I love talking about this stuff!
So, confession: most of my classes were focused on mammals, so my understanding of sauropsida isn't as detailed. I haven't gotten super into sorting through the messiness of the Morrowind reptilians-esque creatures yet, but right now I'm sort of leaning on them being similar to early therapsids (which would probably make them synapsids). I like the idea of them being more like reptilian pre-early mammals, and maybe having branched off there to be there own group (not necessarily comparable to any modern clades to emphasize how unique their evolution is) rather than actually being reptiles (although perhaps in-universe they would be classed as such despite not being in that clade. The irl classification of "reptiles" is already messy as is anyway). I'm open to them being more dinosaur-like though too. Skulls would definitely help, but even if we had them I'm not sure I'd trust the artists to have given it this degree of thought anyway lol. I'll just have to muse on it more.
Interestingly, ESO makes the distinction that alit, kagouti, guar, and wormmouth (which is apparently a thing from Shadowkey) are all closely related, while cliff racers, cliff striders, scuttlers, and bantam guar are closely related and not related to that first group. Maybe that second group are diapsids and more similar to non-avian dinosaurs? idk. Like I said, i still gotta wrap my head around it all.
I'm actually avoiding using any humanoid races for the most part, partially because in-universe sources on their origins are probably largely biased (either in religious or mythological viewpoints, or because of in-universe racism), and partly because it kinda becomes a mess when i started looking at it, so I figured I'd give myself less work. Like, do I trust the accounts that Argonians are related to guar, or do I trust the accounts that they were made out of thin air by the Hist? I have my own ideas in the back of my head for mer and man phylogenies, but those are their own things. I'm also not including dragons since they're basically demigods and I'm not actually sure they would be able to breed or fit into any evolution.

i hold the INCREDIBLY strong opinion that hellfire is the best disney villain theme song. the orchestra, the composition, the animation sequence.... the LYRICS?? all of it is so fucking haunting. the hunchback of notre dame was kind of outside of the scope of things disney makes and it was sort of a gamble on whether or not audiences would react well to it. it paid off with story and animation nerds, but actually fell relatively "flat" for a disney film with general audiences.
hunchback didn't have any of the magic that is characteristic of disney movies. there were no spells or witches or magic solutions to problems, save for the gargoyles. it's a film about natural born evil and human reactions to those problems. it's very heavy handed talking about cultural problems that disney films rarely ever touch on so directly, as well as a critique of catholic hypocrisy present in the church. which is arguably... not disney.
hellfire, as a villain song, is so poignant and so outside of the scope of what disney usually creates. it's definitely one of the darkest disney songs, dealing with the concept of sexual desire in conflict with oppressive and hypocritical religious morals. in the movie, frollo is a judge instead of the archdeacon of the church (like he is in the book), though i think it's pretty clear to the audience that frollo is meant to be a religious authoritative figure regardless of his actual title.
the song builds this horrifying sense of dread and entitlement, particularly surrounding frollo's desire to own esmeralda, as well as the deadly blame he places on her for his own sexual desire. it's a song that shifts the fault for his own feelings onto a woman who is already part of an oppressed demographic and one whose narrative renders her powerless in the face of frollo's desired punishment. he's a "pure" character, but his claims to purity are grounded purely in his superiority over others, specifically the cultural group that esmeralda descends from.
it's a desperate rationalization of his feelings and a miserable display of his relinquishment of responsibility in the situation. a prayer sent from a hypocritical man to his hypocritical god. and in his desperation to absolve himself of his sins, he falls deeper into his own.
the chorus in the background chants the confiteor, which is a gregorian confession of sins, but paired with frollo's message, it's not quite a confession of frollo's sins. rather, the implication is that frollo is confessing what he views to be esmeralda's sins, which in turn are having an affect on his own. he absolves himself of guilt by confessing them, but in turn does nothing to actually seek the root of the problem, which is his own objectification of esmeralda and the dehumanization of the cultural group that she's a part of.
the gregorian chant also condemns frollo, showing the audience that despite his backwards confession, he will continue to sin. he confesses to them, but the chorus and the "eyes of notre dame" will damn him anyway because he fails to take responsibility for his own actions.
truthfully, the whole song is a chilling display of the hypocrisy of the church, as well as one of the hypocrisy of man in regards to their views of women. and it's complimented by the music and the swelling orchestra, which highlight claude frollo's anguish and violent internal struggle.
the animation is dark as well, particularly with the way the chorus or "saints" judge frollo as he tries to justify his own feelings, pleading for his eternal soul from his predestined position of "condemned", all the while condemning esmeralda. then, we have the sequence of her dancing in the flames, in which it's revealed that frollo not only hates esmeralda, but desires her sexually and hates her because of it, and that the root of this problem can be found in frollo's sexual desire and not his religious disagreement. the entire tone of the song shifts when frollo says "or else let her be mine and mine alone" and it becomes a chilling representation of claude frollo's misguided blame for his sexual desire. it becomes a song of subjugation rather than religious conflict because the moral is no longer "what she does is impure and a sin" and transforms into "what she does is a sin only if she does it for anyone but me".
in this, frollo reveals his desire to consume esmeralda and take her, as an object, for his own. finally, the animation of her in the flame moving from dance to burning on a pyre is a direct representation of what frollo intends to do with her should she not choose to be with him. it's a violent threat rooted in sexuality and misogyny. frollo does not love esmeralda, but lusts after her, and is willing to kill her in order to avoid the shame in rejection and taking responsibility for his own sins.
anyway yeah, i feel very strongly about this song and i feel very strongly about the overall message it delivers. as far as villain songs go, it is one of the most desperate and miserable displays of true villainy and the absence of magic only serves to make it more haunting. people like this exist. they have for centuries. even with no magic to corrupt or make them greedy, frollo continues to become greedy and drunk with power. and yeah. it's good. i feel strongly.

hi blaseball fans! if you're unaware, there's a website called colornames.org. its goal is to name every single color. as i'm sure you know, teams and entities have hex codes. i'm sure you see where i'm going with this.
i made this google doc to track all of the blaseball hex codes and their names on colornames.org! a lot were already given blaseball-y names, a lot were unnamed, and a good amount have names not related to blaseball. you can propose names or vote on names with the link provided, if you wish <3

aziraphale wasn't there when they sentenced him to be executed in hellfire and aziraphale didn't witness Gabriel's hearing and aziraphale was never. a high ranking angel (which. it is hinted at that Crowley was bc he has access to the files also he Made The Universe With His Own Hands). so he still. like. very naively believes that he can make a difference. and Crowley who knows how it works and who's given up on fixing the system, believes that it's not worth the fight. that crowley is like. don't. do not. this isn't going to work. aziraphale is like. starry eyed and hopeful and takes crowley's rejection as like. his lack of faith in him. (like yk how he's like you're a horrible magician) and crowley looks at az choosing heaven and thinks. oh. you'd rather choose these people over me. because I am just not worth it all for you. which. AAAHHH. anyway. idk if I have a point.

Anyway, here's how I headcanon timelord ageing works.
Only applies to their first body:
From when they're loomed until they are age 8 they age like a regular human
At age 8 their ageing slows down to around 15 years equalling 2 years of physical change (this isn't because of the schism, its more that this is the age they look into the schism bc of this being the point of slower aging)
This continues until they physically reach the age of around 40, then their ageing picks up again to be probably only a little slower than that of a human (every 2 years would be 1 year of physical ageing)
Post-first body ageing:
Every body after the first gains longer and longer "life span" so to speak (which means how long they can have that body before succumbing to "old age" would get longer with each regeneration, even if they regenerated with an old body)
Similar to the first body, after a certain amount of time the body's ageing will started rapidly increasing in speed
