The true tragedy in Kakashi and Obito is that despite both of them basically building their entire lives and identities on the foundation laid by the other, they fundamentally do not understand each other. They don't even know each other!

The Obito that Kakashi modelled his nindo after never existed. The Kakashi Obito spent all those years hating never existed. Both of them based their whole existence on a fictional version of someone they only somewhat knew. And it... it's all they have. It's all they know. For almost 20 years they culminated their respective raisons d'etre with the other in mind. And it was always an unfaithful interpretation of the person in question.

So then it turns out Obito isn't actually dead, and Kakashi isn't actually a remorseless murder machine, and these extremely dysfunctional men cannot deal with it. Kakashi, especially, mourned Obito all these years- And is still doing it! He's mourning the man standing in front of his eyes, unable to accept he's not the boy from his memories. And Obito is unable to accept Kakashi's compassion.

They do not see eye to eye. They are not on the same page. They are not the people they thought they were. And the pale imitations are all they have ever known. It breaks my heart.

1, 2, 3, 4, 9 & 10 for the toku asks!

How did you get into toku?

Before I properly got into it I've always been interested in toku. I grew up watching some power rangers series, and a couple years ago I even saw about half of Gokaiger with some buddies. (We just haven't had the chance for them to show me more lately) but for one reason or another I never fully dove headfirst.

That is until Ryon played Captain Harlock in a Galaxy Express 999 musical last year, and I didn't know when (or if) I was gonna get my hands on a recording of that musical. I was itching to see more of Ryon and I was aware he was in OOO, and remembered "oh he plays this guy in Kamen Rider." so I watched OOO on a whim, and now I am deep into the toku ditch.

The Captain Harlock to Kamen Rider pipeline is real. Funnily enough I started OOO on the exact day I got into Harlock, just four years later. Given how Harlock is how I got here, there is something I find beautiful about that coincidence.

2. What was the first show you watched?

When getting into toku proper: Kamen Rider OOO!

If I wanted to go back farther to when I was a kid: I cannot remember exact which Power Rangers I saw first. There were reruns and currently airing shows I saw. My memory is horrible but two specific entries I do remember among the mix are MMPR and Dino Thunder.

3. What shows have you watched so far?

Currently I have seen Kamen Rider OOO and Zenkaiger in full. I am pretty close to finishing Den-O, and I'm also watching Geats, Faiz, and Donbrothers right now.

4. Thoughts on what you’re currently watching/watched most recently?

The most recent episode I saw from a toku was from Faiz, and so far I've really been liking it! It's been really intriguing to me, and I love Takumi.

9. Favorite theme song?

It's really hard for me to pick just one favorite... but right now it's a tie between OOO's and Faiz's.

10. Favorite tie-in movie?

At the moment, Megamax. I really love the OOO part of it, it has some of my favorite moments between Eiji, Ankh and Hina, I also love Miharu. And the fourze part was so fun it sold me on fourze hard.

(i personally dont react well to being touched without warning/asking though, so if someone did this to me i’d be upset and ask them not to do it again ;; i don’t care so much if it’s unintentional, but if it’s on purpose to get a rise, it feels to me like breaking personal boundaries and laying hands on someone without permission;;)

My wallet/birthname my mom just liked a lot. Now for Linky... I stole that when playing BOTW when it came out. I've went by Link before online but when Parah called Link "Linky" I went. "Oh I like this. Mine now."

Yesterday when listening to a Time Judged All Mashup and looking at the differences in the lyrics. (Man those differences... ;w;)

Nope, and will never.

4. what sports do you play/have you played?

I did track and field for a bit in middle school, and that's about it.

At times, mainly for a bit with friends.
