nintendo supports israel (see bottom of post for update)
i was looking at the extended lists of brands supporting israel due to the last ask i had gotten about pepsi (since the pepsi boycott hasn't been officially recognized by BDS as far as i'm aware- but is an ongoing organic boycott) and i saw nintendo on the list. because these lists tend to be very broad i wanted to look into it myself to see how directly they had supported israel, and it turns out that in 2019 they opened their second ever official store location in tel aviv. this feels like a fairly big display of support and recognition to me. BDS has not called for an official boycott but given that i buy nintendo and nintendo brand stuff with more frequency than pretty much anything on the BDS list and i know it might be the same for others on here, so i want to try to boycott them and share this information in case others feel the same way.
edit: i'm keeping this up for posterity but it seems nintendo's support for israel is less strong than i was originally lead to believe. every single news article on the tel aviv store opening called it the second ever official nintendo storefront which is a very bold display of support to establish in an apartheid country that is subject to a boycott and divestment campaign. however, upon looking into it further, i couldn't find the source for these articles All claiming this (i am still puzzled by this, i understand confusing an official licensed distributor with an official storefront, but not where the "second ever" claim came from) and the new york store's website does not list this location as a sister location, unlike the tokyo and osaka locations. the tel aviv store is an official licensed distributor and has nintendo branding with the name of the store also being "nintendo"
it's uh.... confusing? i spent at least half of today trying to get answer of why it was reported on like this or what the distinction between This kind of an officially branded store and an Official Store like in new york city even is and i kind of came back empty. i apologize i don't have a more satisfying answer.

Idk if it’s just me but it lowkey pisses me off when people use they/them for Alex Fierro
Like she specifically states that she doesn’t use they/them. In the book. Upfront and simple. Magnus asks and she gives him a clear and detailed answer. Alex uses she/her and he/him. She/her when she identifies as female and he/him when he identifies as male. This is said multiple times.
When referring to her in a post or fic or whatever, y’all have two very clear choices that are laid out for you on a silver platter BY ALEX IN THE BOOKS
