this is probably gonna be super incoherent but I'm currently thinking about how throughout all of Chain of Memories, the traitor duo is portrayed as less sympathetic than the basement trio even though the guys in the basement are for the series's token Evil Organization and Marluxia and Larxene are against it. the enemy of my enemy is not my friend
they're all villains but they've got their own conflict going on. one side takes action, the other side tries to pick up the pieces; one side aims to hurt sadistically, the other only hurts because business is business; one side gets what's coming for them, the other side begs for their lives and apologizes and gets stabbed in the back in ways that make you go "wow, that was messed up. this game is for kids?"
both Marluxia and Larxene are killed by the protagonist with no remorse, while Vexen, Lexaeus, and Zexion are all taken out by people who you'd think would be on their side. isn't that clear divide so fascinating

Ok. Ok wait. Hold on just realized something. Sora has lost his powers throughout the Kingdom Hearts series multiple times — Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, Dream Drop Distance (the command deck is mostly the Mark of Mastery testing his skills with the “official” way to fight; and also it’s in his dreams), and finally Kingdom Hearts 3. What’s Sora’s source of power that he keeps losing?
“I don’t need a weapon. My friends are my power.” (KH1)
“I know the keyblade didn’t choose me, and I don’t care. I’m proud to be a small part of something bigger — the people it did choose. My friends. They are my power!” (Dream Drop Distance)
Sora associates all his power as coming from his friends, so much so that when almost all of them are presumably killed by the Demon Tide at the Keyblade Graveyard, he straight up falls to his knees and gives ups. The only reason he gets back up is because Riku tells him moments before sacrificing himself for Sora that he, Riku, believes in Sora. Riku believes that Sora will find a way to bring them all back from the brink. Not anyone else, just Sora.
Sora, I believe in you. You won’t give up. (JP translated line)
Where am I going with all of this? Sora doesn’t believe in his own power. In fact, he thinks he’s worthless without his friends (and the power they lend him.) His mantra is iconic, but it’s reduced his thinking to only associating all of his competence because of others, not because of his own actions or determination. His power is not his own.
So if Sora’s power is not his own, it explains why he keeps losing it so much; he doesn’t believe in it, so it doesn’t stick. I believe that Kingdom Hearts 4 and Sora’s time in Quadratum is setting up for him finally open his eyes to the power he’s always had. His friends aren’t going to be there to help him (at least not at first, if Riku traveling via portal to the other side of Reality is anything to go off of; that and Sora’s knack for making friends so easily) so he’ll have himself and only himself to rely on. He will realize that his power was always his to begin with, or he might just find a new power - resolve - to claim as entirely his own.
I can’t wait to see it.

do you have a playlist or like a mixtape for inspiration or setting the mood when writing your stories?
Oh boy I hope you're ready because YEAH I DO
Associating songs with themes/scenes/locations have been my thing for like years and I would totally listen to a song over and over to figure out what happens during each part as well as what themes/ideas fit with a song. I made a few playlists on my oc worldbuilding shit a long while back in this manner heh
My playlist is divided into each AU, complete with weird titles to remind me what is what in each song
It is a work in progress though, a lot of them on the bottom haven't been organized yet and may not even be used actually there's a lot to organize omg
Link is for my YouTube playlist (and if you're on YouTube Music I recommend using the video for the first song because if you select the audio only version it will not give you the remix)
I go by vibes more than lyrics, and I thought that most of these should be more soundtracks though there are some exceptions
Song list/associations under the cut, it'll be in the playlist description as well (it's really long sorry)

"It's your problem you didn't play the KH spinoffs!"
Let's look at some sales. (Source is VGChartz, and the Play Store was used for Dark Road)
Kingdom Hearts - 6.3 million Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories - 1.6 million Kingdom Hearts II - 5.2 million Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories Kingdom Hearts Coded Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days - 1.7 million Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep - 1.7 million Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance - 1.3 million Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix - 1.6 million Kingdom Hearts X Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix - 1.2 million Kingdom Hearts (Unchained/Union) X Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue - 1.3 million (PS4) Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix - 1.8 million (PS4) Kingdom Hearts III - 6.7 million Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road - "Over 1 million"
No data on Melody of Memory, which probably means it sold below those. The other KH mobile games are no longer on the app store, so I don't have numbers for those either.
Anyway, notice something? The numbered games as originally released sold vastly more than the spinoffs. The rereleases are outliers, and yet despite this, the main games are still more relevant than the other games. Let's look at achievement percentages (PSNProfiles), highest percentages:
1.5 (KH) - 60.62% (Seal the Keyhole in Agrabah; not the actual highest one but I chose this as it's around the midway point in the game)
1.5 (RE: CoM) - 39.97% (Clear Castle Oblivion 5F; the actual highest one was "hit an enemy with an object" at 73.41% but that's not tied to completion)
1.5 (Days) - 40.16% (View Chapters 1-37, this is the highest one, though the others aren't much lower)
2.5 (KHII) - This image should speak for itself:
Tumblr media
2.5 (Birth By Sleep) -
Tumblr media
The actual highest is 85.46% for... completing the prologue (lol). If I were to include this, KHII would still have it beat with 87.40%.
2.5 (Re: Coded) -
Tumblr media
This is pathetic!
The playable spinoffs did better than I thought, but still don't beat the main games. And the "movies" don't even come close, despite being some of the easiest trophies to earn in gaming.
Let's see how 2.8 fares. These are the notable trophies for the games with the worst subtitles: A Fragmentary Passage and Dream Drop Distance -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AFP is the outlier, DDD did better than I thought it would but the lowest trophy scores are still worth pointing out. Still, it's to be expected that more people play the main games than the spin-offs. It's not our problem that we mostly (or solely in some cases) engaged with the main games, it's Square Enix's.

Multifandom Silliness: Who's the Lan Wangji in this Series/Ship?
if you don't know your Mo Dao Zu Shi (or its sanitised, webseries adaption CQL/"The Untamed"), allow me to briefly introduce him for the purposes of this Silliness:
LAN WANGJI (courtesy name)
gained the title "Hanguang-jun" during a war, in reference to his "bringing hope wherever the chaos is" AKA being The Cavalry to even the most desperate of fights. the title roughly translates to "Light-bearing Lord" and additionally refers to the brightness/strength of his [sword glare] & his white robes.
had been Gay Pining for decades by the start of MDZS: his white robes now a symbol of grief, acting much like a war widow.
the "gay" part was not public knowledge but LWJ is VERY HOMOSEXUAL.
BUFF (& pretty): LWJZ is buff as all heck, nvm what his Pretty Boy reputation might say. he regularly does one-handed pushups, often while writing with that other hand. MUSCLES.
he is a famously talented musician: he uses this to not only destroy evil but also further his Gay Agenda, composing a love song when he was 15.
Poetic License: LWJ relays his observations & opinions very concisely and poetically, signalling his high intelligence & artistry. this is something lost in translation to english, where being concise is interpreted as being somewhat rude & socially awkward.
is VERY petty, if you have the background context to realise his beautiful words are often veiled insults.
"Equals": is Gay for one Wei Wuxian, someone both infamously evil & famously selfless. WWX is unanimously understood as being a genius: their first meeting involved a moonlit duel where both found in the other their "true equal" in every sense, martial & intellectual.
a romantic & an idealist, one who became Jaded but who eventually found his faith restored via...
spoilers: LWJ & WWX end up happily gay married and are very public in their affections.
NOW THAT YOU UNDERSTAND, let's figure out who Else is the "Hanguang-jun" of their respective Stories!
KINGDOM HEARTS: Riku
"Hanguang-jun": not-so much in the earlier titles of KH but, overall & ESPECIALLY as the series goes on, Riku's Strength is depicted as a literal, blinding Light. he also has white/silver hair.
Gay Pining: while not outright stated, context established Riku as 1) Gay and 2) PINING. it's literally a Plot Point (sometimes even THE plot).
BUFF (& pretty): Riku is just that much older than KH's protagonist, Sora, to ensure Riku is considered Tall, Strong & Handsome. the "pretty" part comes from being an Anime boy.
PETTY: before he felt secure & at peace with his Gay Pining, Riku had A Whole Villain Arc because of an Assumed Love Triangle that was not in his favour. he has technically outrgrown this now but it WAS a big enough deal in the overall plot fo be something he Can Never Live Down.
"Equals": the subject of his Gay Pining is thematically paired with Riku at every opportunity. they fight in-synch, their hearts beat in tune, they are sources for each other's Strength.
while never seen singing or playing instruments, DDD features Riku finding & manifesting his "heart song": it doesn't become "music" until Sora does the same on his side of the dream. the song their hearts make together? the leitmotif of KH as a whole: "Dearly Beloved".
Poetic License: Riku prefers action to words but most of KH's theme songs are from HIS POV. another instance of his relaying great depth with few words? Chain of Memories has 2 poems, one to end each "Side" of its story: Riku's poem is VERY WOW.
Riku is, if the above had not made it glaringly apparent, at heart a romantic: he believes in True Love, in legends about paopu fruit & forever, in sacrificing yourself for who you love. this, uh, kind of blew up in his face upon hitting the "edgelord" phase of puberty: fairy tales are about princes and princeSSES, not knights. Riku's idealism made him susceptible to manipulation as those ideals were put into question.
Riku does not currently believe he can have his own Happily Ever After: he has, instead, resolved to ensure that his Dearly Beloved has HIS (even if it's not with Him).
A Song of Ice & Fire: Brienne
"Hanguang-jun": Brienne is considered the embodiment of all a knight should be... were it not for her being female. she "goes where the chaos is" (the Riverlands, where the War of the Five Kings has left the land lawless & fraught with danger) and saves the helpless. in one of Jamie's dreams, Brienne bears a literal sword of light and so turns his nightmare into [an unrealized crush] sign of Hope. she bears a very shiny Valryian Steel sword named "Oathkeeper".
Gay Pining: while Brienne is female & her love interests male, her FIRST love was a gay man & her SECOND love is VERY QUEERCODED. she pines and she pines in a very "it will never be, he'd never feel the same because of who i am, i am devoted even as he knows it not" manner that is Very Gay Pining-esque.
BUFF (& pretty): Brienne is a giant of a woman & triumphed over older, more experienced men in a tournament melee. SHE HAS ALL OF THE MUSCLES. she is not, however, considered "pretty" and her nickname of "Brienne the Beauty" is meant as a cruelty. Jamie Lannister, however, has Accidentally Swooned over Brienne at least thrice (in the books, doing more than just "swooning" in That Dragon Show).
when Jamie is fevered and delirious at being Unhanded, he finds comfort in Brienne singing to him: it's unknown whether her singing was any GOOD but it makes sense that she'd secretly enjoy music (& that this interest was never encouraged in her childhood).
while she is not an eloquent speaker, Brienne is a romantic & an idealist: she has had moments of profound insight. only moments, however: she's never received the kind of privileged education that LWJ had.
"Equals": Jamie Lannister, undeniably.
...ASOIAF is not kind to idealists & unlikely to give ANYONE a "Happily Ever After". that's what Fandom is for: many a "fix-fic" has been written in response to That Dragon Show, and artists have made truly beautiful images showing Brienne with her dreams realised.
Genshin Impact: Diluc?
"Hanguang-jun": Diluc is very deliberately designed in homage to Batman, the Dark Knight... but his Pyro Vision inevitably results in his brightening the night, where he chases chaos & saves others from great peril.
BUFF (& pretty): while Genshin Impact limits its muscular models to NPCs & enemies, Diluc is ALLEGEDLY "buff" and should be so following the logic of his being 1) a former knight and 2) an active claymore wielder. Genshin, as a very anime-game, makes ALL its playable characters pretty: Diluc's 5-star skin "upgraded" his hair to REALLY push that point home, enabling him to reach Peak Pretty Boy.
Diluc, as a fancy rich boy, PROBABLY knows how to play at least 1 musical instrument: Mondstadt's patron god IS an Orpheus Expie, after all. his various VAs have certainly put their musical talents to use, in fancovers or in other series they've worked in.
eloquent & concise: this varies from dub to dub but the Vibe remains, if only for his Blatant Batman Invoking.
just like LWJ, Diluc is a romantic & an idealist who has grown jaded over time.
Gay Pining? the ENG dub, as all english dubs seem to do, translated Diluc's Very Queercoded Word for what one Cavalry Captain Kaeya once was for him into... "adopted brother". in CHINESE, however, similar if not identical words used to describe LWJ & WWX in relation to each other: their vibe is more "Bitter Exes" than the "Mourning Widower" type of Gay Pining exhibited by the others in this list.
Genshin's story is ongoing, Diluc's home region has had its main story on Hold so as to return with Greatet impact. hopefully Diluc won't end up like EITHER of his Creative Inspirations (Batmab & Murata Himeko) when Genshin's main story returns to Monsdtadt & Diluc.
Voltron Legendary Defender: Shiro or Keith?
"Hanguang-jun": as the Leader of Voltron, Shiro brought hope to the universe. he may have piloted the Black Lion but the grey in his hair Sure Did Foreshadow his hair going wholly white (& his ultimately piloting a "white" lion-esque ship for humanity). Keith is ever connected with darkness: he is Shiro's successor in all things but ever walks in his shadow (very much deliberately).
Gay Pining: Shiro is the character "canonically" gay but it's KEITH who exhibits all the Trademarked Characteristics. Keith has a Dark Phase about his gay pining. Keith accepts his gay pining during his attempt to redeem himself. Keith resolves to ensure his beloved's happiness, often at the expense of his own. Keith spends the entirety of Voltron (epilogue included, ouch) screaming "i am a gay widower whose love died unrealised & now i fight about it".
so it turns out that deep space astronaut training &intergalactic warfare don't give you much time to showcase any musical talent you may or may not have.
Poetic License: as leaders, both have their moments of profound, concise wisdom. Keith is angstier about it though.
"Equals": Keith & Shiro start out on UNequal footing but, during the series itself, Shiro attempts to make Keith his successor for his (believed) inevitable demise: Keith spends his time metaphorically kicking and screaming that NO DYING ALLOWED, the two eventually compromising by BOTH of them taking up leadership roles. all the space/time shenanigans ALSO, incidentally, enable Keith to pull a "not a little kid anymore" on Shiro, cementing their new status as "equals" (again, forget S8).
Buff & Pretty: as anime boys, both Keith & Shiro are Pretty. as an astronaut-turned-supersoldier, Shiro starts out BUFF. post-Space Whale family reunion trip, Keith becomes "buffier "but remains very much in Pretty Boy territory.
Romantic Idealists: Shiro was his academy's Poster Boy for a REASON. Keith screamed of "i am angsty because everything i've dreamed of has died" but seems at least 25% returned from the side of cynicism by the end of Voltron (in s7 because, as above, There Is No S8).

Words: Realms [pg. 6]
Realm of Light ———
A realm inhabited by people that's filled with light. Long ago, it was a single world, but at one point it broke into countless tiny worlds. Each one is covered by an invisible barrier and can only be reached through particular means. Also, it's forbidden as a general rule to casually enter and exit the different worlds, as doing so may throw them out of balance.
Each world has its own "heart." and if the door leading to it is opened, the power of darkness will cause the barrier to break. Pieces of a broken barrier fall in a meteor shower and are used as materials for the Gummi Ship, which travels through the stars.
Realm of Darkness — — —
There is a parallel dimension on the reverse side, so to speak, of the Realm of Light. Generally, no humans exist there, and it's brimming with the creatures of darkness known as the Heartless.
There are two doors connecting the Realms of Light and Darkness: the Door to Light and the Door to Darkness. Only those from the Realm of Darkness can pass through the Door to Darkness, while only those from the Realm of Light can pass through the Door to Light (see facing page).
Realm Between — — —
The realm existing between light and darkness. Unlike the Realm of Light, few worlds are found here. Also, sometimes spatial instability causes Corridors of Darkness to form spontaneously.
Realm of Light: Radiant Garden (Hollow Bastion), Disney Castle, Destiny Islands
Realm Between, in order of closer to light and closer to darkness: Mysterious Tower, Twilight Town, Castle Oblivion (Land of Departure), The World That Never Was
Realm of Darkness: Dark Margin
Tumblr media
Hearts (pg. 7)
“In the world of Kingdom Hearts, all beings, not just humans and animals, are said to have a heart dwelling within them. Kingdom hearts is an enormous heart, the aggregation of all hearts.”
sure we’ll go with it.
Kingdom Hearts — — —
All the realms hearts put together. Also called the kingdom of hearts" and the heart of all worlds, it's said to be a source of great power and a treasure trove of knowledge.
Once, people considered Kingdom Hearts to be "a great heart of light,' and to gain this power for themselves, they started a war so terrible it brought the world to ruin (see page 8). For this reason, the present Kingdom Hearts is firmly sealed off and can't be approached easily. The forces of darkness, Including Master Xehanort, attempt to get close to Kingdom Hearts through a variety of means, and Sora and his friends do battle with them in order to stop them.
Kingdom Hearts of Worlds’ Hearts — — —
(The Kingdom Hearts of KH I)
A collection of all the worlds' hearts. The Keyhole that leads to it can be unlocked by the Keyblade of heart, created from the hearts of the Seven Princesses. In KH I, Maleficent and Ansem create Heartless and steal worlds' hearts in their attempt to obtain the Keyblade of heart.
Kingdom Hearts of People’s Heart — — —
[The Kingdom Hearts of II and 3D]
A collection of people's hearts. The members of Organization XIlI believe that they will become whole if they unify with it, and they gather hearts released from Heartless in order to create the Kingdom Hearts of Peoples Hearts. However, Xemnas, the leader of the Organization, seeks to use this Kingdom Hearts as a medium through which to transplant Xehanort's heart into the Organizations members to create the Thirteen Darknesses (see page 9).
The True Kingdom Hearts — — —
[the kingdom hearts of BBS and 3D]
Not the two artificial ones previously mentioned, but rather the Kingdom Hearts that has existed since the beginning of the world. A long, long time ago, it was fought over in the Keyblade War and was eventually swallowed in darkness, but it's said that its counterpart, the X-blade, can cause it to reappear.
Tumblr media
Keys (pg.8)
How Keyblades Work — — —
Keyblades are a symbol of the heart's strength, and there are as many Keyblades as there are welders' hearts. Since Sora possesses two hearts, he has the exceptional ability to wield two Keyblades (see page 13). Also, he's a rare example of someone who can use a Keyblade without going through the Bequeathing.
Tumblr media
The Forces of Darkness (pg. 9)
Heartless: Pureblood — — —
Heartless who are born naturally. You can release hearts by defeating them with a Keyblade. Most of the Heartless existing in the realms are Purebloods.
Heartless: Emblems — — —
Heartless artificially made by the apprentices of Ansem the Wise, particularly Xehanort, in experiments to create darkness within hearts, They bear an emblem on their bodies that combines a heart with an X, which Xehanort uses as the Recusant's Sigil.
Organization XIII — — —
A group of Nobodies who possess great power and retain their human appearance. It consists of thirteen members, each of whom has a name that's an anagram of their former human name with the addition of the Recusant's Sigil, X
Theyre aware of the imperfectness of Nobodies and seek to unite with the Kingdom Hearts of People's Hearts in order to become whole again, but Sora and his friends destroy them. However as the Organizations secret purpose, replenishing the Thirteen Darknesses, nears completion, it is restarted as the “Real Organization XIII”
Number I-VI were once the apprentices of Ansem the Wise. Xion, the last to join, isn’t a formal member. Rather, she’s designated as “i”, which signifies an imaginary number.
The Real Organization XIII — — —
The Thirteen Seekers of Darkness, consisting of Xehanort and his alternate selves. They consider themselves to be the Thirteen Darknesses and attempt to make a X-blade by clashing with the Seven Lights. At the time of KH 3D, there are twelve of them, of which six have been identified: Master Xehanort, Ansem, Xemnas, Xigbar, Saix, and Young Xehanort.
Post Notes: The Real Organization XIII consists of,
Master Xehanort (I),
Ansem, Seeker of Darkness (II),
Xemnas (III),
Xigbar (IV),
Luxord (V),
Larxene (VI),
Marluxia (VII),
Saix (VIII),
Terra-Xehanort (IX),

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Axel —Aesthetic
Tumblr media
Axel's Character & Personality
Axel is the Nobody of Lea and Rank VIII of Organization XIII. He wields fire and enhances his weapons, twin Chakrams, with his pyrokinesis to unleash powerful rapid attacks. Axel is also in control of the Assassin Nobodies. He's known for phrase, "Got it memorized"?, on multiple occasions. For Axel wishes to be remembered by everyone he meets as a means to forever live on in their memories. At first, he has a mysterious, stoic and calm demeanor. A very good liar, Axel makes a point of keeping himself difficult to read, coming off as fooling around when his mind is at work manipulating the other members around him. After seemingly befriending a member, he eventually has no problem betraying them with no remorse or any hesitation. This is because Axel does what's necessary to keep his actions unnoticed by the rest of the organization in order for him and his allies' goals to be attained smoothly. Overall, he's loyal to those he cares about and any promises he makes them. Even during his earlier days as a Nobody, Axel valued friendship. Thus, overtime, his personality changes drastically because of his two new friends. Axel has a sarcastic and laid-back, "go with the flow" outlook on many things. This includes missions and battles. In addition, he's childish, cocky and competitive. Axel also quite kind and protective towards his friends. He acts like an older brother towards them, being their main source of advice and wisdom. In some cases, Axel will get them out of trouble regardless of his own outcome. Beyond this, he doesn’t like talking about his past. Not even to his friends. Finally, by being close in contact with Sora's heart, Axel began to feel emotions and gained unusual emotional capacity.

If Kingdom Hearts Characters had Digimon
Tumblr media
((Hee ho doods, Prinnyfrost reporting for duty! You guys asked for it and I'm now here to deliver! Honestly, I thought I did this already and when I checked the archive I couldn't find one so fuck it. Here's Kingdom Hearts characters getting Digimon partners! As usual, whenever I cover Kingdom Hearts, I'll only look at characters originally introduced in the series, meaning no Disney/Final Fantasy/Marvel characters, though I might do a Final Fantasy 4/7 one later down the line. I already have something in mind for Sephiroth to go along with his Pichu. And as usual, duplicates will be kept to a minimum as much as possible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let's start off with the protagonist, Sora. Sora is actually one of those characters where pretty much any digimon would be fine for him given his talent for making friends with anyone he comes into contact with. Hell, considering the nature of Kingdom Hearts, you could give him and the rest of the cast more than one, but we're going to stick to just one to start off with. As much as I want to give Sora a Patamon for the Clavis Angemon digivolution line that I just recently found out after watching Karn EX's video on the same subject, who you should check out after reading this post, but I think Agumon would be a fine starter for Sora as it would complement his bravery (which would go well with unlocking different digivolutions like Agunimon), the fact that Tai's Agumon is also pretty good at making friends as shown when he's able to relax BlackWarGreymon when they first met despite being in its rookie stage, and of course to go with the partner that I'm giving Riku.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Which is of course going to be Gabumon. Come on, we both know Sora and Riku using DNA Digivolution to make Omnimon is too good to pass up. That being said, due to the events of Kingdom Hearts 1 and Chain of Memories, it will be a while before they reach that point. Due to Riku's time in the dark side, Gabumon's going to start down a dark digivolution route to Dobermon, Ceberurmon, and Plutomon. It won't be around Kingdom Hearts 2 where Gabumon will access its main digivolution route up to MetalGarurumon and with Riku's balance of light and dark, Gabumon will soon be able to tap into either Digivolution route depending on the situation needed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Up next is Kairi, and yeah she's definitely getting a Gatomon with the Angewomon route. I honestly hate that I'm doing this because it's bad enough that her name is almost exactly the same as Kari's from the Digimon anime, but I can't think of any other Digimon that would suit her better, especially since she's a Princess of Light. And since I'm letting Sora and Riku have their Digimon access different Digivolutions, I think it's only fair I'd do the same for Kairi at least in terms of ultimate stages. MarineAngemon would be fitting to go along with Kairi's training under Aqua, Ophanimon would help in Kairi's role as a Princess of Light, Magnadramon would be great because fuck it, let's give her a dragon to ride on, but I think the most fitting of all given her personality and desire to actually get into some action would be LovelyAngewomon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Now for those worried about Patamon with its ClavisAngemon digivoltion line not getting a partner, don't worry, because I will gladly give it to ya boi, Ventus. Not only is Ventus a completely pure hearted character after having his darkness literally ripped out of him, which is perfect for any angelic Digimon so Patamon getting Angemon and MagnaAngemon will still work here, but both Clavis Angemon and Ventus are wind users and Clavis Angemon's weapon "The Key" could be a reference to the "X-Blade" which was forged from the clash between him and Vanitas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Speaking of Vanitas, you know what's the opposite of Patamon? Tsukaimon! How did Angemon die for the first time in the anime? He clashed with Devimon! Both Vanitas and Neo Devimon wear masks so that checks out too! And for the mega stage, we have DanDevimon as it is formed by assimilating mass amounts of negative data and unleashing it upon anyone that crosses it, which could potentially be a reference to how all the unversed actually spawn from Vanitas and his negative energy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Up next is Aqua. At first I wanted to give Aqua a Lunamon since Lunamon is an easy choice for water specialists and that Lunamon's fear of lonliness could mesh well with Aqua's motherly nature, but I decided against it since I have someone else in mind who I think might be a better fit. Especially since it's doubtful that Master Eraquis would let Aqua have one after finding out it can use darkness in its later stages in its main line. Instead, I'm giving Aqua a Shakomon to start off with to compliment Aqua's craftiness. Its champion stage will be Ranamon as I think it would be fun to see try to act as mature and majestic as Aqua when it's in a good mood, but throws a fit when annoyed, forcing Aqua to try and calm it down. Finally, the ultimate and mega stages will be Mermaimon and AncientMermaimon to keep with the sexy water lady theme.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Now here comes Terra. As much as I want to keep the earth element theme with him, unfortunately, we all know he needs a Digimon with a dark digivolution route. I think Dorumon would be the best bet in this regard as its dark evolution route are the DexDourugamon stages which I can see as Terra thinking Dorumon getting stronger this way is a good thing but is failing to realize that the two of them are drifting further and further into the dark side due to Xehanort's manipulation. That and at least Dorumon is a metal user which one could argue is a part of the earth element, especially any Avatar fans reading this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. Now for my favorite character in the series, Axel (or Lea as he prefers to be called now). Considering his fire element and his relationship with Saix, I think it's only fitting to give him a Coronamon with its main digivolution route to Apollomon. I can see Coronamon trying his best to keep Axel upbeat and energized while on missions but will slowly try to convince him to turn against the organization after realizing that they're actually fighting with the bad guys. Telling him that he should stick with his friends and do what feels right, that sort of thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. Meaning Saix/Isa gets Lunamon with its main digivolution line to Dianamon. I think Saix is actually more fitting with Lunamon than Aqua not only because of his dynamic with Axel, but also because he is at least somewhat associated with the moon given his berserker mode. Not only that, but Saix and Lunamon could probably relate to each other's envy over Axel and Coronamon hanging out with other people. Remember, Lunamon does not like being lonely and seeing Coronamon mingle with other people, thus spending less time with it, could spark some negative emotions. And for those thinking that Saix would abuse Lunamon, the Kingdom Hearts manga has pointed out that he had a pet before so I kinda doubt that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. My first thought was to give Roxas a Clear Agumon to symbolize the fact that he's Sora's nobody, and give him the GeoGreymon line, but I found out that surprisingly, Clear Agumon doesn't evolve into GeoGreymon. So...Toy Agumon? Nah. While Roxas is curious, he's not exactly the most playful person in the series outside of his time with Hayner, Pence, and Olette and that was during a simulation. And since I gave Tsukaimon to compliment Ventus's Palmon...how about a BlackAgumon with a BlackWarGreymon route? After all, BlackWarGreymon isn't really evil. In a way, it's personality is similar to the anime version of Mewtwo's. It's a bit philosophical about the meaning of its life being a clone, though can get aggressive, especially when someone tries to force them on a set path. Actually, that perfectly fits Roxas now that I think about it while typing this up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. On the other hand, Xion would be a pretty decent fit for Toy Agumon. After all, Xion herself is created using Sora's memories (though mainly the ones he has with Kairi) and Xion is sweet and a bit playful once you befriend her, which fits well with how Toy Agumon are usually shy, yet enjoy playing with kids and will protect their companions. As for the digivolution route, considering her final boss battle at the end of 358/2 Days, I think it would be fitting to give her the GeoGreymon line, which will help reference her and Roxas's connection with Sora.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
11. Normally I go with 10 characters at a time when it comes to these topics, but I refuse to end things without bringing up Namine. Since I gave Roxas a BlackAgumon, it only makes sense to give Namine, who is KAIRI'S NOBODY...a BlackGatomon. I can see BlackGatomon having a bit of a teasing Tsun relationship with Namine, poking fun at how Namine spends her time all cooped up by herself in a castle wanting to make friends but is gutless to try to break free from her captors. Deep down, BlackGatomon's actual goal is to help Namine grow more of a backbone and stand up for herself, take some risks, ect. Its main digivolution line to Lilithmon should work, but I can see BlackGatomon occasionally turn into Kuzuhamon whenever she wants to talk about/help Namine with her art and controlling memories.
And that's today's list. Is there any you agree/disagree with? Do you have any ideas of your own? Feel free to let me know. Thanks for reading.))

They had burned her alive. A sacrifice made after an accusation of witchcraft. Betrayed by the man she had loved.
She had begged, pleaded for her life, screamed as the flames licked at her skin and consumed her until the fire finally granted her mercy and took her away from the pain, carrying her down into the darkness that would be the womb of her rebirth.
Foolish mortals.
Thinking that they can curry favour from the elder gods and rid themselves of any curse, if only they find someone to punish in their stead. Almost always a woman, and one whose only crime was to live outside of the expectations they tried to force upon her. How dare she not submit to their will and be an obedient servant.
No, not a servant. A slave.
She wasn’t born in chains, but they had sold her into them. Why? Because she looked different, bore no resemblance to either of her parents. A child of darkness, they had said.
If only they could have foretold that it would be by their own hand that would fulfil that prophecy.
In the dark, she felt nothing, but she remembered everything. Every slight. Every injustice. Every time some man had dared put his hands on her. The memory of their touch sickened her, but no more so than the one she had been tricked into trusting with her heart. He had spun such pretty lies, promised her the moon, told her she was worth more than all of the silver and gold in the world.
In the end, all he gave her was death.
Still, now she was becoming.
The elder gods had seen what they had done to her. They accepted the sacrifice only so that they could give her gifts greater than anything those who sought to use her could dream of. They imbued her with their own power, made her one of them; a patron saint of monsters.
The mother of demons.
When her transformation was complete, and she had learned all that the elder gods could teach her, they let her go to reclaim what had been stolen from her.
Lilith ascended from the darkness, borne up on its glistening black waves that enveloped her like smoke and the embrace of a lover, and returned to the place of her mortal death.
It was night. Not a single soul stirred from their slumber as the woman cloaked in shadow moved through the streets, taking a moment to collect her ire and mark each and every soul that had wronged her, let the memory of her pain and suffering build until she was ready to unleash it.
She gave out a cry of anguish; a scream so loud and so powerful that every person in the village was immediately torn from sleep.
Legend would say later that that scream was heard across the whole kingdom.
None had a moment to come running to discover the source, Lilith bringing upon them the same end they had wrought her, every building immolated in an instant, the force of the inferno so powerful that the entire village exploded, sending a fireball into the sky so high that it could be seen from villages several miles away.
Lilith stood among the heat, the flames caressing her skin. There was no pain or fear this time, only comfort like a loving kiss.
No human would ever treat her with such disdain again.

Nomura. The story for Kingdom Hearts II already existed when we worked on the original Kingdom Hearts. At the time, the story for Chain of Memories wasn’t concrete. Kingdom Hearts II continues where we left off in the original, but a year later. Initially, we weren’t planning on telling the story of that one “blank” year, but the more we started discussing the GBA version, the more we thought it would be to do so in Chain of Memories. -source: https://www.khinsider.com/news/GMR-Nomura-Interview-2004-2563
To this day I wonder what things would be like had they stuck to their original plan. Not just for story reasons but for development.
I may like CoM but I can't deny that it was the true start of spreading the story all over the place. I still remember when KH2 finally hit the US and no one knew who Namine was.

Sonic Unleashed is Kingdom Hearts but if "Ansem" was defeated midway through breaking the planet.
Wait a moment I have evidence for this. It's stupid but you might get a good laugh.
Sonic Unleashed and Kingdom Hearts both involve the planet being broken by the efforts of a powermad scientist. Radiant Garden became a pale mockery of itself, the planet was ravaged into an actually shattered husk. Both had dark entities bleeding out into reality as a result of the experiments and while they were very much not the intention it still happened. And part of the events in those worlds also involve the hero gaining a monstrous body that he can use to fight the dark creatures with (Werehog / Antiform). The fact that the game ends with someone getting sealed beyond reach of mortal hands (into the planet vs Light/Dark realms) doesn't help.
Bonus Round: Sonic 2006 is Kingdom Hearts.
Master Xehanort and Mephiles the Dark are cut from a similar cloth, although KH3 made it out like Xehanort was just a poor misunderstood baby who was innocent all along and that none of the deaths or destruction or suffering mattered. Mephiles has some sympathetic points in that he was used as a science experiment to turn a holy flame into... some kind of enerhy source? And the Duke's experiments not only split a god into multiple demonic entities over horrifically destructive abilities, but we got to see hints of the dark future where the time travelling Mephiles is from. Mephiles and Xehanort's schemes rely on manipulating the heroes and Xehanort for the most part was successful as was Mephiles. And then they were beaten up by a plucky young hero out for their blood and the transformations did not save them.
If you want I also have "KH is Final Fantasy 7 in Mickey Mouse swag" what between Chain of Memories, KH2, and also Crisis Core / 385/2 Days (and to a degree Dirge of Cerberus).
You can't show me Radiant Garden getting wrecked by a powerhungry mad scientist lying to the locals and getting the planet wrecked by risking the destruction of the souls of the world, and watch memory corrupting effects in multiple games, AND throw Cloud and Sephiroth into the area and then show Zack in Greek!SOLDIER duds and whatever the hell is up with Tifa-

Im gonna be honest, I wrote this in 2020 as a joke, thought it’d be funny to post it here becasue theres no char limit. Spoilers of course, this is kinda dumb
