Victor Chaos and Butter's Obvious Control and Autonomy Issues
(where I over analyze south park because I have brain rot)
Tumblr media
Butters as a character is someone who does not have a lot of control or autonomy over his life. His strict and abusive parents who constantly ground him instead of you know parenting. The other children in his life like Cartman who manipulate him.
The "bad ending" in Post Covid I think is interesting because Professor Chaos evolved specifically out of Butters feeling angry at the world.
With Professor Chaos he was trying to gain some of that autonomy to hurt the world who hurt him. It makes sense that as a persona that evolved because of that feeling of helplessness that he assumes Victor Chaos permanently.
Tumblr media
His anger issues manifest in him trying to gain control of his life, there's a reason he became invested in his "brand". A brand is to give control over how others see you. There is insecurity in this feeling of being helpless.
In Post Covid, Butters/Victor Chaos has never had full autonomy for the majority of his life. He went from being grounded in his home to being in a mental institution. He was grounded and then grounded again.
Whether his parents or by an institution, he never had personal autonomy. Not even as an adult where in theory he should have the most control. His entire persona and identity is built around someone who is desperately trying to.
The way Victor Chaos says "I think Butters was a twerpy little loser kid whose parents didn't love him" again this is a defense mechanicism, Victor Chaos is reclaiming space by distancing himself from "Butters"
Victor describes him as a "twerpy little loser" aka the opposite of who Victor Chaos is trying to be because that twerpy little loser kid felt angry at his lack of autonomy and control.
...and yes he did this through NFTS unfortunately.
The reason why I think this is interesting is that it mirrors what happens to people in real life. A lot of the angst and anxiety around being a child is the lack of agency a child has.
As a child there are not many rights available. Your parents decide how they parent you and if they parent you, you cannot choose where you live. You are stuck.
I think a lot of children go through those feelings but it is particularly strong for children with neglectful or abusive parents. But it could also mirror the experiences of disabled people, who are often robbed of their bodily autonomy.
Victor Chaos was his way of getting back at that but in the overwhelming circumstances and trauma Butters became Victor Chaos completely. Which is why he will continue to attempt to exert control even in extremely unhealthy ways...like trash talking people lol.

Uriel Preston: And other stuff
Got inspired by @skenisasleb to make a few outfits for Uriel, a south park oc of mine, and a few episodes for him too! ( They are just the top third of the outfit, sorry! And btw, the quotation marks are names of episodes. Spoilers for post covid and return of covid)
Tumblr media
1-"Pirrup your dukes": (this was when pip was alive) Upset that a kind boy like Pip would be tossed around with no remorse, Uriel decides to train him on some self defense techniques. Despite the genuine goodness of the former, Pip decides to us this training and beat his bullies to a pulp, and Uriel has to stop his friend before things get way out of hand.
2-"Coke flavored fish": When Uriel's parents, Coral and Marco, get back from a more than 20 year monster hunt from their jobs, they gotta make up the time that they couldn't spend with their son. To kill 3 birds with one stone, as they find out his adopted sis is a monster (so they gotta see if she's worth taking care of) and they have to hunt for a beast in a large area of water, the parents decide for a fishing trip. Plot A would be that Uriel fishes with, questionable bait, and plot B would center around Coral's Tension with Trixie, and the shenanigans that follow.
3-"What's best for her": Meeting an exchange student named Yentl, (This takes place before the first future of post covid) he's head over heels as he wishes no only to complete a to-do list from his far-off sis, but also to befriend someone new. However, Uriel is in tough competition with Cartman and is gonna have to duke it out for love( Using gifts of course), but looses at the end when Yentl wants to be Cartman's girlfriend due to her concern that Uriel is going ill from wasting so much energy on trying to please her.
4- Leroy Redhood: His Stick of truth sona. He's an old tavern keeper who wants to unite all creatures of Zaron. His place is where other species can mingle and interact with each other, but is restricted of violence against others inside (There will always be those annoying loopholes). 3 of these customers decide to stay to help with the tavern, and this is where his protective instincts shine (Calling the three his kids and other stuff). You dare hurt one of kids? Well get ready to feel figurative hell! He carries a basket with a spike on the bottom to double as a shield.
5- HoudiNick: In the day? Just an ordinary apathetic but still caring Fashionista, giving customers only the best of fabrics and materials to make a high grade superhero costume. At Night? A ruthless motherfucker that shows no mercy, has an endgame of blowing up earth, and burned his sister once( That was the most extreme instance of sibling wars with Trixie). The reason for turning evil was because he gave up trying to unite both franchises, and turned to the darkness, wreaking as much havoc as possible by trying to get as many secrets the heroes have and leak them to the entire town. His weapons are his trusty double-headed silver spear and his hat of infinity that stores bombs and other interesting stuff. To get him, you have to listen to every single conversation he has. You get limited amounts of dialogue at first, but he will open up to you as the game goes on, deciding to officially join you after he hears news of both franchises reuniting( But not before you defeat him in a battle, the mechanic being that he empty or even use your ultimate meter for his own ultimate when he can).
6- Post Covid(Original Timeline): In the original timeline, with his sister stuck in Canada, Uriel tried to get a list done of "Things to do when your sis is away," the only thing that remains incomplete was getting a girlfriend( Which was Yentl, but they are still good friends). The future sees Uriel as a Butler to Kenny, as he gave him a job of being a butler when almost all jobs got automated by robots. When Kenny dies, the will tells him to help out the other boys when he can. However, Cartman uses the will to his advantage, and makes him steal the machine to use it 'For the greater good( Which is to kill Kyle in hopes to stop this mess.)' Once Uriel finds out the true plan, he pulls out his double sided spear when Cartman fistfights Kyle to stop the two, only to have to put down the weapon when Yentl exclaims her disbelief on how Cartman used to be, and how he is now. (I'll do the altered future Uriel in another post)
I think I started this a week ago, but kept postponing it cause I was lazy. If you want more Info about Uriel and my ocs, don't be afraid to ask.

South Park Concert Night 2! Spoilers + Long Post
The second we got through the main gates to get into the amphitheater - we practically ran into Dian. We were so focused on getting good seats though, we both quickly greeted him and speed walked away 😭. Would have loved to talk to him/get a picture but we were so out of it.
We saw Boogie and Betty again and exchanged waves from across the stage :)
Both nights, Trey would get up and call on a girl named harper or heather or something (it was Betty lol) during the Colorado Farm song. Its a cute moment!
Second night big changes: Governor Polis (Colorado Governor) came out to present Matt and Trey with a certificate declaring August 10th 2022 South Park Day - I might be wrong on the date bc he stuttered on that part lol. But prior to announcing that, he read off of a long script of a bunch of south park references that were tied to Colorado
Other big change: Rush!! Matt was/is a huge fan or Rush, so Trey and the rest of the crew surprised Matt by making him learn a Closer to the Heart. They made him think they were just doing a cover, but then brought out Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. By far my favorite part of the show, and I am sure I will write a lengthy post when the footage drops bc I have a lot I want to say
Trey gave a shoutout to Anne Garefino, who played a massive part in planning. Unfortunately she has COVID and was unable to come :(
They cut Man Up and a few other Primus/Ween songs they played last night :( Not sure if it was a time issue to make room for the Governor/Rush, or if I heard Matt correctly and they decided to alter the setlist for the crowd. It was mostly rock fans and hippies, so it kind of makes sense that maybe something from Broadway would miss - but I’m just speculating.
It was awesome to see Trey (and other performers) stop every now and then and acknowledge how cool this whole thing was. There were more touching moments tonight, and I think it was great for them to have their whole families, friends, and crew right there.
The backup vocalists killed it! I wish their mics were turned up more when they were supposed to be featured, but they all had great stage presence and were fun to watch. The ASL interpreter was great too!
It’s still so wild to me that I was there!! Like with Matt and Trey?? I am so psyched for the videos. They were both so nice and said they had the best fans in the world - and they gave so much love to Colorado.

Kyle Brofkovsky Plays As The Bachelor
In a meta sense, something that Kyle and Daniil have in common is being uwu-bified by the fandom despite in-canon having some of the highest body counts among their peers:
youtube
youtube
Aside from being outlets for fujo projectionism and trans hc's, there's a lot about the Bachelor route and the approach to the problem of a plague that I think would suit Kyle's personality.
I said in my pseudo prologue post that Kyle would immediately pick out this role and want to play as the doctor coming to save the town. To him, that's an easy win and the narrative makes sense! You bring some advanced education and knowledge that can help the people and their possibly backwoods medicine. Why wouldn't that be the OP choice?
Daniil gets a reputation of having the "easy mode" just because he's more respected in general by the authority in the town, or at least is able to start out with a reputation high enough that he can talk to people and do things he needs to do. Kyle also has that benefit from years of being more of a "voice of reason" to his friends. He's also got the stigma of making "gay little speeches" that can persuade the easily-led masses of South Park when all hope seems otherwise lost. That feels in keeping with the Bachelor's education and role when he directs the quarantine of infected districts and tells the orderlies what to do.
youtube
The other side of this is, of course, that they're capable of missing the human connections around them and their importance, occasionally leaving a wake of destruction in their relationships. Its interesting that Bachelor's "true" good ending is SUPPOSED to be that he cares enough about the other healers' bound to save them, let them join the debate in the cathedral, and to choose THEIR ending instead of his own, which (spoilers) levels the entire town in a fit of rage and despair at the creators. That feels pretty similar to the destruction caused by Kyle's own unfocused Millennial despair/anger which ends up destroying a city as well.
youtube
youtube
Both "good ending" Bachelor and "good future" Kyle ended up having to let their own ambition and vision of the world go in favor of appreciating the people around them. Granted, I don't think the Post Covid storyline holds up very well in comparison to Patho's storytelling (or even all that well set apart from it; I wasn't a fan of the specials and they felt either rushed or like 60% of the story was cut last minute), but there's probably a good story in there that COULD'VE been told where Kyle accepts that being "right" isn't as important as listening to and valuing the input of the people he cares about. Turns out the broship WAS important, and he needed to stop nitpickingly trying to "fix" a world that couldn't exist without those people he was so intent on dismissing from his life.

Streaming Wars Part Two (NO SPOILERS)
So I stayed up until midnight and finished the Streaming Wars Part Two. Of course, there are no spoilers since it was just released. Here are my thoughts on it.
For the most part, it's a lot better-paced. Nearly every scene was utilized for the overarching plot. The part I didn't like was a running joke involving celebrities that takes up way more time than it should. Have you heard of the rule of three? Well, this joke appears like six times and probably takes up like ten minutes worth of the event. It's literal padding, and I wished they would've spent more time on the effects of the drought over this running gag.
Randy takes up a massive chunk of the spotlight, but it addresses the Tegridy Weed love/hate with the fans. As someone who hates the TW stuff, I liked what they do with it.
The kids are more utilized in a variety of situations as well as to help drive the plot.
Is there Tweek and Craig? Nope, they don't even appear at all. Nearly all of the secondary South Park characters don't even show up or appear.
But here's the weird part: Stan, Kyle, and Kenny are barely in it. After the first scene, they are practically gone. I'm pretty certain they added the beginning scene knowing that people would be upset about the lack of these three of the four leading kids.
Tolkien gets the best character award. He was great in Part One, and he's fantastic in Part Two.
Cartman's part is kind of weird. They utilize the boobs ALOT almost to the point where the creators are like: see, Cartman's fake tits storyline was important.
Butters is in this quite a bit.
I would say that Tolkien, Cartman, and Butters are the main group of kids.
While the first part was more serious and informative regarding the subject matter, in this part, they go back to the tv show type of interpretation where there is some truth to what they say, but they would instead twist it into something extremely crazy.
Overall, it does a much better job at mirroring the main show's frantic energy and pace than the first part, and everything was resolved at the end. It does feel more like an event and not some two-part episode.
It's better and faster than Part One, but still not as great as the Post COVID events.

Real-Life Variations of a Theme Park (or Why Your Christmas Vacays must be HQ)
CW: TV show spoilers, stories of scams.
Perhaps you have watched the 1994 unaired episode of Dinosaurs, “Variations on a Theme Park.”
The head of the Sinclair household, Earl, notices myriad co-workers working themselves (literally) to death, thus, through a news report, rejoices over the announcement that employers have given their employees like him up to 2 weeks of vacation. Earl wanted to watch TV all the fortnight, but his wife Fran announces that they will be staying at a cabin in a swamp as a family.
But travel plans change for the Sinclairs - when WESAYSO CEO Mr. Richfield hands Earl a brochure of Wesaysoland and he gives it to Baby Sinclair, who pleads (via throwing a tantrum, of course) with Fran to take the family there instead of the cabin.
After Earl trades cash for redeemable currency for non-food items, the family arrives at the park, to find that it’s under construction. His eldest son, Robbie, has a sour experience with the teacups ride (which spins slowly) and his sister, Charlene, is merely tipped over at the rocket ride (which turns out to be a cardboard box).
The family is forced to spend the next 13 days in their hotel, doing off-the-grid activities (because the toilet, the refrigerator, the phone, and even the lighting all have usage fees).
Just when you think that the events in this 90s show are all fictional, some ignorant people experienced the same way the Sinclairs did in real life. That particularly includes Brits, who had lived the unaired episode IN REAL LIFE in the forms of trips to Lapland New Forest and Winter Wonderland Milton Keynes.
Tumblr media
My digital artwork of the nativity billboard in C__pland New Forest.
The Sinclairs in and outside the Chilterns coughed up their hard-earned quid to experience Winter Wonderland when it opened December 14, 2013. They expected what the social media and websites herald - an ice rink, a meet-and-greet with Santa, and dog sleds.
Through those ads (and, presumably, tantrums from kids who saw them), they found something else. The park was erected on a muddy field with mobile carnival rides. The ice rink was tarped up and the dogs were chained. Santa’s grotto sporadically opened, much to the disdain of parents who paid premiums for a photo op.
The fake Santas were the worst -  they were young, slim men who wore red jumpsuits, loose beards and bad accents.
Winter Wonderland Milton Keynes was a foil of a similar park, Lapland New Forest, which opened and closed in 2008. Like the former, their website promised an ice rink, a tunnel of lights, and a photo op with Santa (or, Father Christmas, for that matter). It even promised appearances by Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Goofy Goof, skating on the said rink!
But families, who coughed up their hard-earned quid, saw things that had further tempered their already high expectations upon arrival.
The nativity scene was merely a mural on a billboard. The tunnel of lights is just a tree-lined passageway with a smattering of lights, Santa - whose photo op queue lasted up to 2 hours - was caught smoking, and the ice rink was inoperable.
Like Milton Keynes’s Stinky (sic) Wonderland, according to one of the patrons, Lapland New Forest was erected on a muddy field with shabby carnival rides.
youtube
Britons weren't the only ones making their own real-life takes of "Variations of a Theme Park" from Dinosaurs. Remember the "P-Weak Kids," fellow Aussies? (I wanna make the post as PG-rated as I can here.)
Their skits on The Late Show lampooned theme parks such as Warner Bros. Movie World, Universal Studios, and Disney's Hollywood Studios stateside at Walt Disney World in FL (as P-Weak Movie World); Frontierland in any flagship Disneyland park, including Magic Kingdom, also in FL (as P-Weak Western World); or SeaWorld (P-Weak Marine World).
If Santa’s Winter Village at The Ice Skating Edge in Noarlunga, South Australia, would’ve had an alternate name, it would be called P-Weak Winter World.
Opened and THEN closed in 2020, at the nadir of the COVID-19 pandemic, Santa’s Winter Village cost children 4 and older $38.50 AUD and a family of 4 $120 AUD to take pics in front of a cardboard gingerbread cottage adorned with plastic plates. The replica of The Polar Express was cheaply made, hoisted by a scooter.
Patrons and even some netizens who hadn't EVEN been to Santa’s Winter Village dubbed it the Fyre Festival Of Kids Santa Events, after the event in the Bahamas hosted by con artist Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule in the spring of 2017 THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN.
But longtime The Late Show hounds called it other aliases. Twitter user Steel Sheep was wont to call it "P-Weak World: the Christmas Spectacular."
"We have arranged with the team at The Ice Skating Edge to close Santa’s Winter Village today, stop selling tickets to the event and arrange refunds for those who have been disappointed by the event,” a spokesperson of the rink wrote in a Facebook-posted statement.
"We’ve listened to your feedback and, we agree, Santa’s Winter Village does not meet the expectations of our customers, the broader community or our team at Colonnades and we apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this has caused our customers."
Tumblr media
Lesson learned: if you want to take your kids out to somewhere fun for Christmas, do it early in December. And the place has to be of high quality, good, clean fun. As for theme parks, I strongly suggest reputable ones that open in the holiday season.
"(Lapland New Forest owner Henry Mears) and the rest of the Lapland gang should give all their disgruntled customers an all-expenses-paid trip to a real amusement park," Amy Sondova concluded on She is Beloved, "That’s right, I’m talking (Walt Disney World) - because despite what Lapland’s tag line says, Disney World is where your dreams really do come true."
But if you really can’t go to a reputable amusement park that hosts those Yuletide offerings, just remember to take those wise words of wisdom to heart:
Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays 'Cause no matter how far away you roam If you want to be happy in a million ways For the holidays You can't beat home, sweet home
And simply taking a staycation for Christmas surely beats a real-life variation on a theme park any year.
Tumblr media
And let’s end this post with a moment of silence for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at DHS, taken 12/10/2015.

I saw in your stick of truth art you said you play baldurs gate? Im interested to know if you have any south park crossover ideas?
I have been playing lately!! well, not really 😅 a friend from d&d has been streaming it to me but once I have my own gaming PC I will be buying and playing it on my own a lot 😏 but since i can’t exactly access it on my own i don’t know the whole game’s plot so no spoilers please!! however i will say……. wyll my beloved 🥺
(putting further ideas below the cut in case anyone else wants to play but can’t and doesn’t want any spoilers at all!)
speaking of Wyll, i do definitely get Gregory vibes from him. like, the fact that he’s a runaway noble who was forced to run bc he sacrificed himself (or at least his soul via a pact)…. big martyr vibes. and now he just goes around helping the downtrodden for no reason other than that it’s the right thing to do?? ABSOLUTELY Gregory. but i will say that the way Gale talks is more Gregory’s vibe.
Christophe….. idk honestly. i will say I’ve seen that one foreign kids in bg3 crossover thing that has Christophe as Shadowheart and i think that is pretty much the MOST wrong choice lol. i know she has trauma with wolves and Christophe has trauma with guard dogs but that’s where the similarities end. Shadowheart’s a cleric. her whole thing about devotion to a goddess. Christophe’s arguably biggest defining character trait is his hatred for God. if i had to pick a main companion person to align Christophe with it’d maybe be Karlach..? but idk. maybe he’s not meant to be in a bg3 AU.
for general SPxbg3 and not just my two main SP boys tho, I really vibe with the idea of Stan as Halsin… strong, kind, loves animals 🥰 kind of the perfect fit! also the fact that he’s a bear and finn has all the art with post covid Stan as a big ol bear. for Kyle, my heart wants to say Astarion since i love vamp Kyle and for style/halstarion reasons BUT Kyle is not as mean spirited as Astarion is at first ofc so i think he’s sort of similar to Gale..? well meaning but comes off as kind of pretentious, bad luck in romance, and kind of a nerd.
Kenny is Karlach, no doubt about it. loves to party and dance, excellent vibes, but cursed in ways that involve destruction of their bodies. circling back to Astarion, honestly i think this could be Craig! i mean, Damien fits really well too but i’m trying to think of more major characters for this theoretically crossover lol. Wendy seems like an obvious choice for Shadowheart visually at least, but i think she’s a bit more like Wyll! assuming that it’s not Gregory haha. they both care deeply about issues of justice and are willing to fight for what’s right. Shadowheart then i feel could be Bebe… both perfectly bitchy but also badass. and tell me Bebe wouldn’t be the type to cut and dye her hair after a dramatic moment!!
then there’s Lae’zel who honestly I’m a bit stuck on 😅 to be frank she’s my least favorite character so far. the tav my friend and i have is a cleric of lathander who believed that the guardian in the prism was his god (before learning The Truth lmao) so the combination of the githyanki occupying the temple of Lathander and wanting to kill the guardian made me not like her much. but maybe she could be Red bc Red is my favorite SP girl so that will help endear her to me 🥰
i know nothing about Minthara bc my friend loves Halsin so we killed Minthara basically the moment we met her. doesn’t help that she’s a drow and personally as a D&D player I hate dealing with drow. come back to me about her when i play on my own and don’t kill her straight away.

The south park fandom was a highly inappropriate space for me to be in at the age I was (very early middle school, first half of 6th grade don't worry I got smarter fast) but my dad and I watched the post COVID special (pt. 1 so no spoilers plz) and there was something so near and dear to me about seeing Kenny regarded as exactly the kind of amazing man I always thought he would be. My dad was laughing at all the future stuff and granted it was funny but something in my heart just broke and fixed itself when I really got to see what younger me thought about so much. Cartman you didn't deserve the wife you have in 4th grade but she is beautiful and if she's decided you're worth it I'm just happy for you both. I guess I'll just be taking this show the wrong way forever but right now it's working pretty good for me

Ok so this is so really great character development
Tumblr media
Before when they were kids, Craig had to coax Tweek to talk about his emotions and what was making him feel that way.
Tumblr media
And now, Tweek just says how he’s feeling and what’s making him feel that way.
“I have a lot of anxiety being back with all these people!”
He acknowledged his emotions and said how he feels and said he feels that way because of all the people.
This is character development at its finest :)
