🦌 WHUMP CONCEPT 🦌

Okay okay okay so I grew up/live in a rather rural, redneck town full of hunters and farmers, surrounded by woods and farmland. I mean, in school we literally had a "tractor day" where folks drove their tractor to school. There were multiple pages in my highschool yearbooks full of dead animals and dudes in camo holding guns. Well maybe not the gun part I dunno if they could do that, but you get the idea. (Nope, I went back and checked — guns are, in fact, present!)

So anyways, I was listening to Southern gothic inspired playlists while driving around town at night after work and I had an IDEA.

Whumpee is an animal/nature lover who enjoys hiking and camping and such. They're an animal rights activist and believe in protecting and respecting nature. They're vegan, pure of heart, and volunteer at shelters. Maybe they're even going to school to be a veterinarian. The woods are their happy place, and they're friends with the local deer. Wildlife just seems to trust them.

Meanwhile, whumper is a sadistic hunter who does it for every reason one would hunt — for food, for the trophy, and for the fun of the sport, for that thrill of killing, taking a life. They don't care how they capture their prey, whether it be by the trigger of a gun, elaborate traps, or illegal contraptions. Maybe they make clothes out of deer skin and craft necklaces from their bones. Maybe they're strictly carnivorous. Either way, the woods go dead quiet whenever they enter them, as nature can feel the threat they pose.

One day whumpee is taking a walk through the woods when they step into a bear trap. When whumper comes to check their traps the next day, whumpee is relieved to receive help and be rescued.

Unfortunately for them, that won't be happening. For whumpee is whumper's latest, most treasured prey.

Their sweet little Fawn.

Let's spread some love 😘. What are some of your top five favourite cs fics?

Okay Anon, so I genuinely haven't been ignoring your question, and I truly do LOVE to sing the praises of our many, MANY talented CS and OuaT fic writers, but it is so hard to have an answer of only 5!!! I would honestly say it is pretty much impossible!!! (Krystal @kmomof4 did force me to give her a Top 5 list this summer, but I only did it because she insisted it was necessary ;p and I'm still not sure it would always be the same five, depending on mood and what I'm JONESING for - ha ha, that pun was unintentional! - at the moment!)

In all seriousness though, even at that, I had to make up multiple brackets, like "normal" people do for the NCAA Sweet 16, to try to narrow down my choices. For real! I had several different sheets just to try to narrow it down somewhat: One Shots, Two or Three Shots, Short MCs, Long (Epic) MCs, Enchanted Forest fics, Modern AU Fics, Missing Moment/Canon Compliant Fics, Canon Divergent Fics, Whump and Hurt Comfort fics, you get the idea....It went on and on!

14- get up bambi “ —poiler. Come in. Spoiler.” It didn’t sound right, muffled and quiet. She fumbled around on the floor for the volume. “Spoil— Stephanie.” “Wh,” she breathed. -- Unsurprisingly, that scene from Bambi with his dad has my undivided attention every time I watch the movie, and I want a fic inspired by that (@batbirdies also adopted this idea; I think she's further on it than I am lol). The premise is "Batman remotely coaxes a robin through escaping a deadly situation while injured," and Steph seems like a fun choice. Bruce trying to find the sweet spot of commanding and cajoling?? Desperately agreeing to mumbled negotiations for daily coffees and private islands in exchange for feet and inches of crawling?? Stephanie going above the limits of human endurance out of sheer spite??? Could be good...

19- barbed wire Would you believe that is a little Duke Thomas and Jim Gordon whump thought?? lol Basically, Jim stumbles upon Signal, who, under the influence of some hallucination-inducing substance like fear gas, has gotten tangled up in some barbed wire at an unattended construction site. I don't know if I'll ever come back to this one, but it's a neat thought I might work into something else sometime.

22- the pine box boy the backwoods au nobody asked for Ooh okay so, this is more of thought that I like to vibe with sometimes than a wip haha It's a historical fiction/southern gothic kind of batfam au. It's centered around Jason's inexplicable return to the land of the living, but it's set in the pre-1850 east texas area. Bruce's occasional vigilantism is related to this local drama of the time (not necessary to understanding this premise, but there's the historical orientation) This came about because of listening to The Pine Box Boys, purveyors of bluegrass murder ballads (I suggest preparing to listen ironically because it might be an acquired taste lol. Otherwise, the gist is that the songs are typically upbeat, ironic horror stories in which there are horrible occurrences). To borrow a phrase from this article, I think the Batman/Gotham mythos shares their "molten core of avant-garde freakishness" and so adapting Batman to a corresponding setting gives me intriguing thoughts. Most of those thoughts pertain to the Joker as some guy who lives in a shack and is a community menace, Ra's as another some guy who's the topic of mystical rumors since it seems like he should have died a long time ago, Jason and Bruce on his Red Hood character arc, and Bruce getting no rest because he insists on raising a weird little found family in the same woods as bona fide crazies.

𝙞.  i manage a book store and, because of this, i own way too many goddamn books. i have books for days and i know exactly where each book is located. they line the walls of my house and my book shelves are over flowing.

𝙞𝙞.  i was born on a leap year at exactly noon.  on the years there isn’t a leap year, i celebrate it on the 28th of february.

𝙞𝙞𝙞.  music is my life blood. i’m mainly into punk music, but the 70′s rock n roll scene is also of great interest to me.  gene sim*ons wife went to my high school so for the four years i went to the school, we’d see them every year. he signed my guitar at the local bowling alley and he’s much, much uglier in person.

i started roleplaying when i was freshly 12.  it was super cringey super hero oc stuff and then i moved onto hetalia:  my friend from the hetalia fandom told me to come to tumblr (i was roleplaying on bebo) and i’ve been here ever since! i made my first account in maybeee, 2012? i roleplayed the tenth doctor for a good 3 years, which is kind of my first real splash into the tumblr rp community.  my old dw account is still up and i cringe at it every 3 years, just to remind myself how far i’ve come lmao.

i prefer writing male villains.   if they’re a serial killer or a criminal, i’m into that.  i find myself enjoying darker characters that come from darker books. characters from literature are my brand.

horror: everything i adore and more. southern gothic horror? gorror plots? thats my jam, i live for scary plots.  if it’s got blood and a haunted house, count me in.

smut: i enjoy smut if i enjoy the interaction.  if i’m not enjoying the interaction, it kind of falls flat on my end.  reading other people’s smut is kind of a secret pleasure of mine because i enjoy how people write their intimate moments, which kind of makes me enjoy writing those moments? because i know my partner enjoys reading it as much as i do. sometimes i throw a lil kink in there that i know they like and i just wait >:)

angst: angst is probably my least favorite of things to roleplay,  but if it gets physical i enjoy it a lot more.  i’m a bit into whump though, so really........any bodily harm turning into angst or vice versa kills me <3

i prefer to plot if both our character’s are from different series/shows.  it’s easier to wing it with in canon character’s or oc’s that belong to the fandom, but plotting definitely helps things along in terms of world building between writers!

Texas Whump

I always hear about hypothermia or being warmed up after being very cold but what about the opposite? The relief of sinking into cool water after being overheated, the effects of sunstroke, sun burn, or dehydration.

A rattlesnake bite or a scorpion sting? Even better.

Texas has giant swaths of land where there is nobody around, nothing but the sun, dirt, and brush. Nobody can hear you scream and the only way you’re escaping is a truck or car, and that’s if you’re lucky and know how to drive off road.

Add in the religious nuts and you have a perfect southern gothic whump story.
