Thinking about how we didn't get one scene of Mike in his basement in s4, though we got almost everyone else in the party down there (Lucas, Max, Dustin, Steve, Robin, Nancy).

At the start of s4, we got Mike in his room and in the kitchen getting pop-tarts out of the pantry (near the phone on the main floor), but nothing of him in his 'sanctuary'.

Considering Mike and Will and that damn basement metaphor, it makes me wonder if that was entirely intentional.

Because although there is a phone in the kitchen, I highly doubt that's where Mike made all his calls to Will since the Byers moved, most of which went unanswered. That's very likely the kind of thing he would do in the basement...

Makes you think they're saving Mike in his basement again for the last season, bc what we'll see is something that'll definitely shock the average viewer... something the Duffers had to wait until the end to reveal.

never thought i'd see people try to argue or analyse wriothesley's murder in regards to his personality. i think people are missing the point. the situation has nothing to do with him and has everything to do with an extremely traumatic environment that made a small boy think the only solution so save himself and the people he cared about was to take the life of his abusers. it's not supposed to be rational, it wasn't premeditated, it wasn't about getting away with it. if you read his description of the murder you can see how out of it he was. his goal was to protect himself and his siblings and that's what he did. that's why he admitted to the crime so easily and why he is keen to associate the fortress as a rebirth place. he was just young, lost and traumatised and that's about it when it comes to the extension of it all.

My neighbors might hate me because I love singing while doing everything. Playing phone games? Music. Cleaning? Belting like I'm performing a concert. Walking? You can bet your buttons I have a karaoke track playing.

But I also have the horrible habit of playing one song on loop, and if I don't know then I learn it by picking up that way. But I only know certain lyrics for most of it.

So my neighbors have been hearing bits and pieces of Chronically Cautious all morning. Mostly "So if I'm honest, I think I'm beginning to question how much I want this," which I'm sure is not how they pictured their morning going. And I ended up playing a karaoke track, so that they got to hear the full thing about four times.

At least I'm a decent singer?

#i can hear one neighbor playing video games 24/7 amd another likes to slam his cupboards like they wronged him #so i dont feel too bad #and i keep it within decent noisy times #its noon rn and i started at about 11 or 11:30 #ive been hella productive this morning which has been lovely #i got like six hours of sleep and then took an Adderall so today is going to be great #i showered. washed my face. did an exfoliating face mask (that didnt do much of anything. my skin might be beyond saving) #cut my nails. practiced Chronically Cautious about 50 times while getting dressed #i got dressed in cute af cozy clothes #now im about to go to the coffee shop to do some work on my computer #i have to be the most fuckable person at the coffee shop obviously #eventually i have to clean my tub and tidy and make dinner and a couple other things #i havent had an appetite lately... whovh is bad because i use Hellofresh #they send meals every week and my meals have kind of been stacking up because i dont feel like eating #i should do my dishes... #if i were rich. ill be honest. i would hire someone to clean for me #im a bit of a messy person and it just stacks up #especially since my apartment is pretty small. theres nowhere for the mess to go except places that a mess doesnt belong #especially my table... thats pretty bad. and my dishes. and laundry all over the floor #i have my apartment divided into spaces for different things. right. #table is for eating. desk for working. rug for recreation/crafts. bed for sleeping (im srill bad at not using my phone there tho) #but my table gets messy so its hard to eat there and my rug gets laundry so i dont want to sit there (and i need to vacuum it) #i need either an actual Adderall prescription (im used ti get it from a coworker but we dont work together anymore so im almost out of it) #or a bigger apartment. or enough money to hire a housekeeper #none of these are very feasible #but at least im productive today. so maybe ill get some cleaning done #i just realized im addicted to parentheses today #maybe i should get a library card... i live right next to a library why dont i have a library card? #sorry that was fairly unrelated. anyway have a good day i love you all

Okay -- with that sorted, we are into the update proper! Let's see how my favorite trio celebrated Egg Day:

-->First things first -- someone had to plant the new items that I’d dropped into the planters! And as Smiler was the one who was both closest and awake (making more mechanisms and computer chips, as they do), they got the job – AFTER they took a moment to try and stop Shock from drinking one of Shadow’s pee puddles right outside the barn doors. Surprise hasn’t quite gotten the message, but at least they stopped drinking that particular puddle? *shakehead* Anyway, Smiler got everything planted and did some watering and weeding – and while the plants haven’t INSTA-grown, like they did the last couple of times I planted something (one of the mods I use to stop things reverting to dirt piles also sometimes made plants grow super-fast), they’re still growing at a pretty decent rate. Soon we’ll have coconuts, pineapples, black beans, soybeans, noxious elderberries, and poison fireleaf to add to our stores of stuff! :D

-->While that was happening, Victor ended up getting up super-early because he was hungry and craved leftover meatballs. I allowed him to have his early breakfast, then sent him outside to try and appease a wandering specter with a jar of lovely honey. The specter wasn’t appreciative of his gift, though, and Victor ended up having to not only avoid the specter, but calm down Surprise when, having recently been called back home from her nocturnal wanderings, she took offense to the specter’s presence. *sigh* Why do specters have to be so hard to appease sometimes...

-->Alice woke up shortly thereafter, and after taking a moment to brush up on her vampire lore (as she’s trying to get two more skills up to 8 to fulfill an aspiration milestone on Renaissance Sim as her New Year's resolution, and that’s an easy skill to level), she had a hankering to go play ping-pong with Victor! Normally I cancel out these interactions (as my Sims are low-key obsessed with the ping-pong table), but this time I was like “Hell with it, go have a game, I’ve got nothing better for you to do.”

And so they did (once Victor was done being stuck at the top of the stairs into the party barn area for some reason)! With Smiler joining them to practice their bar tricks in the background (they've certainly gotten bottle stacking down!). Alice took an early lead at the start, but Victor rallied back after the midpoint, and managed to take the win. I had Alice give Victor a suave victory kiss and a hug after that – and a hand-hold after she got a Want for it. :) They’re so cute~

-->With that done, it was officially time to start both Egg Day and the usual morning chores! Victor Transportalated himself down into the greenhouse to tend the various plants (fulfilling the “Gardening” tradition of the holiday along the way) and check on his bees, while Alice let out a somber howl to keep the Fury in check and did a little egg hunting in the couch (getting a yellow-and-blue-striped decorative egg) before going downstairs to clean off a dirty Moory. Smiler, as usual, flew down to check on the chickens, spreading a little feed for the chicks and telling a few jokes (getting up to Comedy level 8 in the process, nice). Typical Valicer farmhouse stuff!
