shout-out to Astronomy Picture of the Day
this site has been updating daily for literal decades now and its format has stayed the same the entire time.
there's always something fascinating to read about, and/or you can just look at some pretty fucking cool pictures. 11/10 highly recommend Astronomy Picture of the Day.

As much as I love space stuff, sometimes I get this deep primal fear when I look at fields of galaxies or just the vastness of space or whatever. I guess part of my brain just freaks out over how small I am lol

Starfield brings up the questions of people adapting to different planetary cycles (and does nothing to answer it).
Like, how do people adapt to a day lasting 47 hours? When do they sleep? When are work hours?
Starfield's answer to work hours seems to be "FOREVER", but I just SLIGHTLY suspect that's purely a gameplay thing.

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE TONIGHT!
This eclipse will be visible to most of North America, Asia, and Oceania! If it's visible to you i highly recommend watching!
Here is more info:
A total lunar eclipse is also known as a Blood Moon, because the moon turns red at the maximum point!
This occurs because when the moon falls completely into earth's shadow, the only light that can reach it has been refracted alllllll the way around earth's atmosphere! All of the blue light gets scattered around, which is why the sky is blue, and once all the blue is gone, the oranges and reds of sunset/sunrise are all that's left!
So basically, the light of every sunset and sunrise in the world is falling on the moon! Isn't that just the coolest?
