That Letter I Wrote To John Williams - Fourth Attempt, First Success

Dear Mr Williams,

I write to you today to express my most ardent admiration for your music. Your body of work has doubtlessly touched innumerable people and mine is simply a voice in a chorus, yet I find myself compelled to write this letter in the hopes of being heard over my betters, if only for a moment.

I do not know of a time where your voice did not have a place in my heart. From the restrained beauty of Jane Eyre through to the marches in The Phantom Menace, it has been the constant throughline in my life. Chief above all these is Spacecamp. The bleakest of New England winter turns to a deepest horizon of forever spring, of tall grasses and warm alpenglow. Like a favorite blanket or thought-lost photo, it brings a very personal sense of joy and nostalgia often absent in adult lives. I will never be able to thank you as much as is deserved and it is my most ardent wish that this short letter may convey a small measure of grace that I feel when I hear "In Orbit" or "Re-Entry".

I had the luck of speaking to Director Harry Winer who said that all the people who made the film offered something special, that "their spirits are what permeates the film". The music exceeds that descriptive, as it speaks to an optimism and awe that reaches beyond celluloid or narrative. It is not just fulfilling but transformative: an audience is made different and better for having heard it. Once prisoners, now set free.

I have included an album cover in the hope you have the time to sign it. I apologize for my selfishness but I hope this letter explains why I am taking that risk.

Once again, thank you for your music and your time reading this. The best to you and yours in everything.

౨ৎ would definitely soft launch all the time, like pictures with an extra hand in it or your shadows, small things

౨ৎ he’d use spacecamp to hard launch for sure, like announcing a new flavor or wtv and he puts on a coat of it then walks over to you and ends it with a kiss of the cheek like AWWWHH

౨ৎ if he had a long or stressful day he’d definitely call you up just to cuddle and be with to forget about the day

౨ৎ would definitely stand in a parking lot while you show off your truck and then do donuts and then y’all would make out 🥰 (this one is a joke)

౨ৎ always asks your opinion of his outfit and gives you very unfiltered “advice” about yours 💀 he’d help you style things though fs

౨ৎ both a listener and speaker as you are, like when your telling him something it’s both y’all talking over each other on accident, conversations flow into random topics very easily

౨ৎ when your in a video with them and matt or chris try to speak over you or smth, even on accident, nick will yell at them to shut up so you can speak even more than he already does LMAO

౨ৎ you would both spoil each other so much, like you’d give him random gifts all the time and like if you two are out and you’re like “this is cool” or wtv he’d definitely get it for you without you asking

6 months. 6 fucking months and two weeks since I’ve seen my brothers. I understand that they have a career and a new life, but would it really hurt to call? Even text once a week just to let me know they’re alive. If it wasn’t for their stupid posts 3 times a week i could have thought they would be abducted by aliens.

I love my parents, I really do, but I haven’t seen them very often either. They’re either always working or going to LA to help their favorite money making sons. Justin and I aren’t very close, the age gap is just too big.

so I’m left alone. No friends, no parents, no triplets. All they left me with was their belongings.

I lay with one of Matt’s stuffed animals in my arms, one of Chris’s beanies that still smells like him, and some lip balm that Nick just launched.

I haven’t left my room in more or less 48 hours, but that anyone would notice.

all I can think of is how much I miss my brothers. Why would they leave me? How could they just forget about me?

Nathan was a huge help at first, but he got bored of me eventually.

I’m startled when my bedroom door creaks open. Are my parents checking in me?

my heart skips a beat when I hear Nick speak. “y/nnnnnnnn” he says drawing it out in a song like manner.

my head shoots up, and my body is about to when I see his phone rotated sideways. I just turn away and start crying.

They finally came home, but all I am to them is fucking content.

“awww she’s so happy to see us!” Chris squeals.

I feel the weight on my bed shift and feel Matt rubbing my shoulder. I just shrug it off.

“we’re home! Did you miss us?” Matt says.

“get off me.” I whisper

“what?” He says, taken aback.

“Get the Fuck off me and get out of my room!!” I scream at them. By the look on their faces I can tell this was the last reaction they expected.

“why are you acting so much like a brat? We came home just to see you!” Nick shouts.

“you came home to use me for content. Get out” I say laying back down.

“fuck you y/n” Chris says as they walk out.

“AND TAKE YOUR STUPID FUCKING PITY CHAPSTICK WITH YOU!” I scream at the top of my lungs, chucking the spacecamp at bucks head.

he slams it before it can reach him.

I just lay back down and start wailing into my pillow.
