All Plans Fly Out the Window
There’ve been quite a few long lost twins Damian and Danny meeting at galas, right? All very cute, happy, relaxed, etc.. Well what if we add a little twist?
——————————————————
Vlad Masters.
A very suspicious figure that only in the last few years rose to wealth and power from almost thin air. Companies that were doing decent simply handing over the keys. No court has ever been able to prove foul play, all judges siding with Masters even when counter mind control measures were in place.
Any evidence or stories implicating Masters were either retracted or removed with great speed.
Bruce did not want another Lex Luther to deal with, and yet he first needs evidence. All of his computers were tightly secured with little connection to the Internet, and the ones that were refusing to be hacked. (“It’s almost as if it’s… alive, B.”)
Therefore, while risky, a more hands-on approach was needed.
Tim and Bruce were to stay in the spotlight, keep Masters eyes on them. While Damian would sneak away and snoop under the pretense of, “being bored”.
However, all of this went out the window when Masters introduced his godson, Daniel Fenton who when shaking their hands said in the League of Assassins dialect in a pleasant tone,
“What the **** are you doing here?”

This is your advice to block @chuugly-hate-page because they are not above actual hate speech
Tumblr media
I've blocked and reported them but I cannot fucking believe the shit they're pulling, especially with what's happening in the world right now.
Hating a fictional character is one thing. Making shit up about said fictional character is another. But it's all stacking up on them now and they're disgusting. I could make an itemised list of the things they've said and done, but I'm not even going to entertain them anymore because they don't deserve any attention.

There is a woman at my job, a client, who is Japanese. She married an American man and moved to the states roughly 20 years ago. She comes in regularly with their dog who needs a lot of care.
She came up to the desk earlier in the week and said she always appreciated that I greet her directly (rather than just choosing to talk to her husband) and that I always take the effort to say her name and that she’s delighted I say it correctly. I told her of course, and I only know how to pronounce it because I’m a Japanese student myself.
She was delighted, absolutely ecstatic, she ran over to grab her husband and told him all giddy that I speak Japanese, she excitedly wrote out her contact information for me and urged me to contact her at any point to practice Japanese with her. I asked if she’d been back to Japan since marrying her husband and she normally goes back to visit her folks every year, but hasn’t since the pandemic began. She asked me if I’ve ever been and I said no, but it’s on my list of places I’d love to go visit once I’m more comfortable speaking. “Please do!” she urged over and over “Come and visit, you can even come with me when I go!”
Today she was back and it was just her so I greeted her in Japanese and we had a very brief conversation. She was so fucking happy. She apparently had a hard time focusing on the dog’s appointment because she kept telling the techs and the doctor over and over how happy she was to speak Japanese with someone. She told me I was clear and understandable when I told her I’m sure I have a bad accent (I think she’s just being nice tho lmao) and when I told her I want to sign up for classes but they’re expensive it was “ME! USE ME!!! I’m FREE!!!!!! Seriously! Please!!”
This is a woman who has a considerable accent- she’s understandable but Americans are racist. Her name is very Japanese but probably one of the simplest to learn how to pronounce properly (no one at my job does). And judging by her delight in finding someone to speak her language with, it seems like she rarely is able to be on equal (or higher tbh) footing when speaking here in the States.
I’m excited to take her up on her offer, having someone to speak regularly to will improve my skills immensely, and it seems like it’ll let her have something she’s been missing since she came here.

Hey, I started a language learning club at my local library so that there is a space for language learners to practice, share resources and be with like minded people. Made an eventbrite program for it so that it will be easier to share it.

I genuinely think a lot of Latines in LatAm have this stereotyped version of Latines born outside LatAm in their heads that they just assume we must ALL have the exact same experiences (aka didn't grow up speaking spanish so lets ridicule that very sad forced assimilation, being like 2-3+ generations removed from an immigrant ancestor, being disconnected from their individual Latine cultures, not knowing LatAm's histories of colonialism and US imperialism, basically being "yankee-fied") and tbh even IF some or even a large part of us fit that, why the fuck would you deny us community? Like how is that remotely helpful? Especially to those of us who aren't white latines, that have to deal with racism in our respective communities outside LatAm?

Did PB hire translators for the German versions of their books or...?
And if they did hire translators, did they hire native speakers?

Why is the average person so bad at translating? I get it if you aren't a native in the target language, but if you are translating something into your own language it should sound like something a native speaker would actually say. Like, you speak and write in that language every day, you know how it works and it's clear from your poor attempt at translating that you know the meaning of the text in it's original language, so where's the problem that's causing your translation to be so awkward?
