So it really does look like he brought him cakes. Some theorize he's wearing a turtleneck in the shot where he's going into the shop, so it's possible it's a cut from later in the series after he knows Gabriel is there and it's not cakes? I think it's likely it is cakes, but who knows. All I can say is this reached farther than I thought and I'm gonna be so disappointed for all you and me if it's not cakes he's brought his angel (maybe from the coffee shop? idfk)

so @theeminentlyimpractical and i were yodelling at each other in the DMs last night talking about general time-fuckery stuff in s2 and trying to riddle it all out, and i mentioned that i had noticed something that only now seems obvious from the s1 scriptbook (and im sure that someone pointed it out in 2019 but im wondering how relevant it still is):

everything is running late.

working backwards chronologically in s1, we have when newt arrives at jasmine cottage:

unfortunately the line isn't in the show, but in the interest of pooling all resources, the scriptbook says the following:

NEWT - I swerved to avoid Tibetans in the road. At least, I think I did. I've probably gone mad.

ANATHEMA - If you have, noone's going to notice. You're twenty minutes late.

we then know that crowley was late for arriving to collect the antichrist:

which the scriptbook doesn't elaborate on/give a timeframe, and may be extraneous to the previous and next example, but the antichrist is reportedly part of the Great Plan, so im including it for the moment.

but the kicker is agnes nutter, right?:

a precise and accurate prophetess who doesn't foresee that pulsifer would arrive late to execute her? how?

so when it came down to it, i started to wonder where something might have happened that has shunted the timeline along, between 10-20 minutes... maybe something in eden? but no - laure cracked it:

now. all of the times don't match up completely, but the general sense is that the world may be running a little behind schedule, compared to what it should be - ie. the timeline that agnes predicted, and ussher/his team calculated.

we know that adam reset everything at the end of s1, but:

given that he's not omniscient, would he know that the world is 15 mins behind schedule (and therefore, when s2 starts, are we still running late)? probably not, so does he revert things back but keeps the world on the original clock, so to speak?

alternatively, did he reset the clock, and is the universe that we see in s2 actually on the correct time?

this might not mean much, if anything at all (see: it's just all for The Bit), in the grand scheme of things... but im now starting to wonder if it does. because what would have happened if everything had run on time? because maybe it's not so much thinking about individual events, and how they would have played out otherwise if the world had been on the 'correct' timeline all along, but maybe just the sheer possibility that there is an 'alternate reality' in which those 10-20 minutes meant things played out very differently?

ive talked about the chair (x), and ive talked about the sideburns (x), and ive talked about how crowley somehow seems to be existing at a different time to everything else around him (alternatively - whickber street itself is running in a different... reality? timeline?), as well as the random moments where time seems to disappear entirely/the clock swaps its hands around in ep6 (x). about crowley's comment about it being "too late", and how he seems to act slightly odd just before aziraphale tells him about the metatron's offer (x)... but is it all somehow interconnected? and connected to the 13-minute delay?

and if it is... what caused it? what might have delayed god by 13 minutes, or what might have gone wrong to cause the delay, that has then had a hypothetical knock-on effect, whether it be because adam did fix it, or didn't fix it?

question about lancer tactics: with some modification, could it theoretically be used as a more automated version of a VTT? i've had the idea of making something similar to a tactics game, except multiplayer, the npc's are controlled by the dm instead of ai, and it'd have to be more of a framework you could easily add in any abilities/weapons you'd need, but part of me wonders if it's worth building the whole thing from scratch (as someone who would have to learn coding as well)

Not by us. Adding remote multiplayer is a huge swing (and has been the death of many projects), and we already are at capacity with the scope of "do a 100% port of Lancer to a CRPG".

For reference, Stardew Valley had an experienced dev from Chucklefish dedicated to adding multiplayer for more than a year (this was posted one year before the 1.3 multiplayer update released). We don't have anywhere near that level of resources.

That said, there's a neat project called IsoCON that is doing something like what you describe for Icon. The rules automation from what I've seen is very light (closer to having in-game reference ability text than AI-controlled units), but I think is a great model for what an game-specific indie VTT can realistically look like.

It's either TimBer or TimBerKon, I can't remember rn. It's primarily Bernard's POV, but there are several scenes Kon's POV, and maybe one or two from Tim's?

The plot is that Bernard and Kon are internet friends, and Kon likes to mess with people on online superhero-related forums because nobody ever really believes him. At some point, Bernard finds out (or maybe Kon reveals it to him) that his internet buddy is Superboy

Early on there's a scene where Kon is texting Bernard while at the tower hanging with YJ and sends Bernard a strategically taken selfie so that he doesn't accidentally reveal any identities.

At some point, there's a scene where Kon accidentally calls Bernard late at night to rant about something while he's working on the farm. It's at this point that Kon realizes his online friend is not a girl, which he had assumed based on the nickname he'd given Bernard (blondie? or something like that?). The conversation makes Bernard start to wonder about what life is like for superheroes outside of heroing.

Eventually, Kon lets a detail slip that Bernard uses to make a conspiracy video on his YouTube channel, and the video blows up big time. Kon finds out and puts two and two together and gets upset because he felt like Bernard was using him.

There's like apologies and things get resolved, and I can't remember how it ends (hence not remembering if Bernard and Kon's relationship ends platonically or romantically).

But yeah, if anyone knows this fic, pls let me know because I would very much like to read it again and I forgot to bookmark it, ig.

I’m kind of embarrassed for taking the relationship stuff so seriously as now it’s clear that this is basically high school drama. it doesn’t excuse any other shit she might’ve done or anything but I don’t really think that alex deserved to have her entire career destroyed over the shit I see every day from Bug with a split dye who just broke up with Knife with an Amazon spike collar. Zoronxie start life as a tadpole in a cleanwater* pool. They shed throughout their life, growing limbs and eventually becoming terrestrial, and even later, bipedal. They also go from hairless babies to having fur back to having their hair fall out when they’re old.

When does a zoronxie start to be aware of themself? Around the 12 week mark, sometime before they leave the water.

When can they start to talk? They start to mimic sounds at a year and a half. Zoronxie commons, a language made up of the surviving native languages, can be learned and spoken at around 3 years. Languages that rely less on mimicry, like Zornxian and galactic standardized, take longer to learn, but can generally be spoken before the 5 year mark. Sign languages made for the zoronxie body plan can also be learned once a child is steady enough on two feet.

When do they become an adult? Areas with Enithian influence have a child looked after by a caretaker until they’re bipedal, after which point they go into an apprenticeship. Areas with a more traditional skew, like the House, tend to let a person fend for themselves once they can steadily walk on their forehooves. Zoronxie growing up off-planet can oftentimes pass as an adult once their horns start growing in.

*clean being clear of the carnivorous microbacteria found in Zornxia’s rivers and oceans, not fresh like freshwater.

revamped a few things regarding gut stuff + a taste of angels' fuckass technology heehee ^^

angels have a completely liquid brain thats contained in a thin membrane, supported by a sheet of cartilage thats absolutely PACKED with nerve endings. having a liquid brain allows them to take a lot more damage to the head without fear of brain damage. theyre fucked if their skull gets pierced however, as once air gets in their skull, the membrane will pop and send brain soup everywhere. luckily for them though, their skulls are both thick as hell AND have a layer of fat and muscle to pierce through first.

their sails can fold down now, as well as their front teeth now being able to move similarly to a parrot beak(LOOK UP PARROT SKULLS THEYRE FUCKIN WILD) allowing them to grip onto prey better. angels eat rocks in order to strengthen their bones so i changed up the coloration of their bones to reflect that. depending on what minerals they eat, angel bones can vary in colour as the colour of the original rock gets mixed in with the original calcite bones. old angels will also eat gemstones and other sparkly minerals so that when they die, their bones(mainly the skull) will be extra sparkly for funerary reasons. some angels will eat gemstones regardless of age just because they like the idea of their bones being extra pretty, even if no one can/will see them.

ever since angels figured out how to harness the processing power of their liquid brains, theyve been using it in almost all technology ever since.

rather than writing things down, angels will use this liquid to store information in a computer-like fashion, and by sending off specific signals into it they can program the liquid to do just about anything. depending on the amount used, these "brains" can record and store memories, open doors, pilot ships, and even replicate and store whole entire people! as long as they have a constant stream of nutrients and regular monitoring, these brains can live almost indefinetley. in order to activate/talk to it, you must be touching any exposed part of the membrane. the tech may not work correctly with other aliens however, due to it being so closely connected to angel biology.

brains that have a consiousness integrated into it are called BUIs(bio-unital intelligence), and are the angels' equivalent to sentient AIs. not gonna go too much into detail about them now since i wanna make a separate post on them, but theyre often created to do more complicated tasks, such as governing highly populated ships and running ground settlements, but theyre also made when an angel's body has been life-threateningly damaged and they dont want to die just yet. this is only done if said nearly-dead angel agrees to it beforehand, as the integration is both painful AND permanent. BUIs dont need to be touched directly to function, and will perform tasks independently of other angels.
