FINALLY. The REAL anime Harry potter is here. Man I wish I could’ve streamed my reaction to this first episode because I’ve been waiting for and pushing this Light Novel for so long. Tears in my eyes man.
J.C staff did an amazing job introducing you to this incredibly complex and intricate magical world as well as the characters. This series has one of the most detailed magic systems ever and I can’t wait for people to really experience all it’s got to offer.
The art, animation and pacing were all very solid. When it comes to JC Staff you just never know but this time it seems they got it right. They been on a roll since Railgun T and it looks like this could be among their best.. I just pray the quality stays this good throughout.
Pacing is going to be the big test for them here. The first volume in particular is quite thick and has a lot of world building. I hope they don’t pull an Index.
Cautiously optimistic.

I made Wolfram a job stone for his Spellblade class! It's basically a mix of PLD/RDM. I chose Rose Quartz since it's pink like Magick Barrier (his shield). While he doesn't use job stones and created the class from mixing years of training I like to think he carries a stone around in case he needs to pass down the knowledge one day!
More about Spellblade
Wolfram doesn't use job stones, he has mixed the skills he’s gained over the past 40 years to create his own fighting class. I call it Spellblade. It’s mainly a mix of Red Mage and Paladin with a little Dancer thrown in.
Shortly after their marriage, Raubahn gifted Wolfram a longsword with an aether focus pommel. Joking that he kept breaking his rapiers by blocking with them. Wolf can now switch between DPS and Tank seamlessly. He doesn't use a physical shield and is an evasion-based tank. If one is needed he will cast a small concentrated Magick Barrier in front of him or above him. His tank LB3 is an impenetrable Magick Barrier concentrated directly in front of him, wide enough to shield the party.
As for DPS - Rather than casting Jolt he's learned to imbue it into his blade, similar to Tizonia. After a few hits, he's stored up enough aether to dual-cast one of his heavier-hitting spells, which he does using the sword exactly like traditional red mages do the rapier. As such he is a melee-heavy caster. When he builds up enough dark and light aether he unleashes a powerful melee combo that looks more like the paladin combo before leaping back to instant cast his powerful spell combo finisher and then charges right back into melee range. His DPS LB3 is still Vermillion Scourge because it's the BADDEST limit break in the game.
He's not a dedicated healer but can assist in a pinch and will often dual-cast VerCure if the healer is busy. Outside of combat if he focuses very hard he can still use his conjury skills like Esuna but he's so rusty he can't pull them off in a fight and as they say - The best mitigation is damage.
He's been known to throw the occasional chakram in a pinch, having learned his lesson of not having a backup weapon in his fight with Ilberd. Usually has a few hidden daggers too just in case.

My Characters 6: Ressik
Today’s entry is a little bit more tied to the Golarion setting than most, in part because he was meant to be used in an Iron Gods game that fell through.
Scavenging can be a hard life, especially in a land long ago devastated by the crash of a titanic alien vessel. Still, Ressik’s clan persevered and survived as all ratfolk did, with determination and ingenuity.
When Ressik was a boy, an ill-fated scavenging run led to a berserk robot chasing the survivors back to the warren that his people were living in at the time. Caught in the crossfire, he saw the defenders of his clan fight and die against the mechanical menace, a sight which scarred him. However, an image from the event stuck out in his mind, when the defenders finally damaged the thing’s reactor, and cosmic fire streamed out in a beam that carved gouts in an material the beam touched like a sculptor cutting away excess clay.
Years later, he would begin training to become one of the clan’s defenders as well, but he wasn’t content to just master a weapon, he wanted to recreate that cutting light. Scavenged technology was out, as he didn’t trust it, but magic, on the other hand…
So he set about the path of the magus, and eventually perfected a way to project a short-ranged beam of force from his fist, about the size of a dagger, which he could still cast spells through while wielding another weapon.
Ressik could have lived out the rest of his life defending the clan, but years of hearing stories of adventurers defend the world from great evil made him realize that there were ways to protect others without being close by, so he left, seeking a worthy cause.
A serious and quiet figure, Ressik is confident in his abilities, seeing no reason to brag. However, privately he does enjoy the fruits of his study and practice. Though he keeps his mind on the task, he does open up and relax with good friends and a tight community. Few things can disrupt his cool, the most notable being dangerous robots and other machines.
Sporting brown fur and ears missing pieces here and there, Ressik bears the scars of a hazardous upbringing.
He tends to favor light, practical armor and clothes, particularly those that integrate material salvaged rom other garments, including patches, straps, and the like.
Ressik is naturally a ratfolk magus with the spellblade archetype. I’d build him with buffing and opening debuff and control spells in mind before he sacrificed a spell or arcana point to create his force athame and wade into battle, enhancing both weapons and punishing foes with a flurry of attacks.
And with that, this week’s special has come to a close! Tune in next week for more archetypes!
