Spencer Reid x Reader -- Sweatshirt
Class: Fluff, Romance, Slight 18+ Includes: Fluff, minimal 18+, cuddling, Spencer’s favorite sweatshirt, sappiness Plot: Reader gets cold during a movie night and wants to wear Spencer’s sweatshirt. He refuses-- let the games begin. A/N: My first Spencer Reid x Reader oneshot! Let me know what you think, and if you have any requests! -------------------
"I've got the popcorn! Start it!" Spencer jumped onto the couch beside you, grinning ear and causing you to squeak in surprise as you almost fell into him.
An easy laugh slipped from your lips as your eager boyfriend nestled in beside you, resting the blue plastic bowl of popcorn on the coffee table. He pulled you into him, trapping you against his chest with deceivingly strong arms. You laughed again, squirming a bit to get more comfortable before starting the movie-- Pet Sematary. Spencer had convinced you to watch a horror movie with him, as his favorite Holiday was quickly approaching and it would help set the mood for it. He didn't actually own a television, so your house was the only option.
"Did you know," the doctor began, a common introduction to another info dump session, "Pet Sematary--the book-- was actually so unsettling to Stephen King that he wasn't even planning on publishing it in the first place? He only did so to fulfill a publishing contract he wanted to get out of. It was also inspired by a real life situation, too. Back when he was a resident of..." and he rambled on, and on, and on. You usually didn't stop him, because you couldn't. You found your heart swelling with affection every time he did this, and you hung onto every word he uttered. However, he was still info dumping when the first scene rolled around.
You placed a gentle kiss on his lips to silence him, and you felt his body tighten then relax as a result. He looked dazed when you pulled away, and you couldn't help but chuckle. "The movie is starting, Spence." "O-Oh. Sorry," he responded sheepishly. "Don't apologize," you smiled warmly before snuggling back into him. He placed a kiss on top of your head and settled in.
This was bliss. You couldn’t think of anywhere you would rather be than here with him-- granted, you weren’t thrilled that he insisted on a horror movie, but the way his face lit up when you agreed to it made it worth it. You really couldn’t express how much you adored him... well, actually, you could. You wanted so badly to finally tell him that you loved him, but you didn’t want to overwhelm him. He was easily spooked, and was relatively new to the dating game. You hesitated because you didn’t want to scare him off. Saying it too soon would do that, no doubt. It had been five months, but there was no guaranteeing that Spencer was ready yet.
It was getting harder and harder with every passing day.
You hadn’t realized how distracted you’d been until you felt a shiver run through you. It was colder in the house than you realized. Spencer was warm, but not warm enough to keep a chill from nipping at you. You squirmed a bit more in his arms, which he loosened a bit to give you more free range.
“Are you okay?” He asked. “Yeah, I’m fine,” you assured him, “just cold...” you eyed his baggy sweatshirt, one of his favorites to lounge around in. You knew it to be very fuzzy on the inside because he once made you feel the inside of his sleeve. He squinted at you, and it didn’t take him more than a beat to realize what you were looking at and why. You wanted to wear his sweatshirt.
“No... no, this one is my favorite one!” “Please!” You begged. He shook his head and moved his arms off of you to cross them over his chest, as if protecting the sweatshirt. “No! I won’t see it again for a month!” “Don’t be such a drama queen. Give,” you grabbed at the fabric of his sleeves. He laughed and remained stubborn, even sticking his tongue out at you mockingly. You gasped. Spencer managed to wiggle himself free from under you and bolted into the kitchen. You scrambled to your feet and chased after him, leaving the movie playing for an empty couch and untouched popcorn.
When you made it to the kitchen, your boyfriend was standing at the far end, his arms still crossed. He narrowed his eyes at you. “Why can’t you get one of your own? You have six of them... and that purple snuggy,” he tried to reason.  “Four of them are in the dirty laundry, actually.” “Fine. Two sweatshirts and a purple snuggy. Why does it have to be mine?” He tensed up as you neared him. When you lunged to wrap your arms around him, he swerved quickly (though not gracefully) around you. You narrowly missed, stumbling and whirling around to see that he was already backing towards the other end of the kitchen.
“Spencer!” You laughed through his name. “Stay away!” He tried not to laugh, but the wide smile and bright look in his eyes gave away how amused he was by your failed attempt to grab him. Spencer ran, and you followed him, all the way into your room and around the rug in the middle of your floor. He nearly slipped in his socks on the hardwood, but he managed to steady himself. You closed some of the space between the two of you during his clumsy display, but his long legs carried him back out of your room and into the living room where it began.
Your heart was racing, and you couldn’t wipe the smile from your face.  “Just give up and give me the sweatshirt,” you said lowly. You both stood still, trying to stare the other down.  “Never.” “Spence.” “It’s not happening! Sorry, you’ll just have to go get one of yours.” “Why don’t we trade? You can wear my green one with the blue sleeves, and I’ll wear yours?” “That-- literally makes no sense! You would be going to get the sweatshirt to give to me, so why not put it on?”
You pouted, but Spencer remained stubborn. You paused to think about what might get him to break. You began to formulate an idea, putting together a quick and easy plan.
You walked up to Spencer, slower this time. He backed up, about to make another run for it. You held up your hands in front of you. The nerdy agent squinted at you, testing the waters by staying still.
“Fine, fine...” you said slowly. “You look really cute in it anyway.” “I-I do?” Spencer was hesitant. You felt your heart in your throat now, anxious about what you had planned. You tried to hide it though. You swallowed your heartbeat, and by the time you were close enough to reach out and touch him, he was turning red. Maybe it was the devilish smile that crept its way to your lips, or the way you looked his lanky figure up and down. In the few times that you slept with Spencer, you had learned that he was typically submissive in situations like the one you were creating. You were going to work that to your advantage.
“Mhm. What? Haven’t I told you that before?” you questioned him with a coyish glint in your eyes. You stepped closer to him, reaching up and tracing your fingers along his jawline. Your eyes met his before wandering to his mouth. You brushed your thumb against his bottom lip, causing his breath to catch in his throat. He swallowed hard.
“I know what you’re trying to do.” Spencer’s words came out in an almost breathless rush. You grinned, meeting his hazel eyes again.  “Mm~hm, of course you do. You know everything... you and that big brain of yours. I mean, I can only think of one thing bigger,” you grinned cheekily and flashed a glance down, then let your eyes roam his face as your thigh pressed against him. Spencer let out a gasp, leaning into you involuntarily. You cupped his face, bringing it closer so you could kiss the bridge of his nose.
“Your big heart.”
Spencer’s eyes narrowed. Clearly that wasn’t the answer he expected. You blinked at him with mockingly innocent eyes. “What? It’s the thing I love most about you, Spencer~”
And there it was.
You hoped he hadn’t caught it, but you knew you weren’t lucky enough for that. Spencer stared at you, wide eyed and slack jawed for a different reason now. You stepped away from him and threw your hands over your mouth.
“Did-- you just...?” Spencer stammered. You nodded slowly in response. He seemed thoughtful for a moment. You mustered up the will to tear your hands away from your burning face.
“I... I’m sorry. It just slipped out! I wasn’t thinking and--” “Well... did you mean it?” He asked, looking at you with knitted brows.  You were silent, but you nodded sheepishly. “Well then say it,” he placed his hands behind your elbows. You met his longing gaze, one that gave away the beg in his request. Suddenly, you realized your hesitation had been unjustified all this time. Spencer had expressed his love for you in many ways, as you had for him. It was only a matter of saying it now.
“I love you,” You breathed with a growing smile.  Spencer grinned ear to ear. “I love you too!” Excitement dripped from every word of his proclamation. His hands moved slowly to cup your face. The smile didn’t leave his perfect lips, even as he pressed them against yours. You allowed your eyes to flutter closed on instinct, and everything began to melt away. As corny as this felt, you loved every bit of it. That was when the television roared, causing you to scream shortly and whirl around. Even Spencer jumped a little. But you both sighed in relief when you realized it was just the movie you’d left playing.
Spencer doubled over laughing at your reaction. You crossed your arms and swatted playfully at his arm.  “Not funny!” “Uh, yeah it actually was,” he insisted when he finished laughing at you. “Don’t act like you didn’t get startled, too!” “No, I did! But at least I didn’t scream like a little kid,” he gave you a playful shove. You scoffed and buried into him again, muttering “Rude” lowly, but loud enough for him to hear. Spencer hugged you tightly, sighing happily and swaying side to side with you.
“Can I have the sweatshirt because you love me?” You blurted out. Spencer tilted his head back and laughed, then groaned in defeat. He let go of you to slip the sweatshirt over his head, revealing a white t-shirt that clung to him. He pulled the sweatshirt over your head, trapping your arms inside. You smiled broadly as you were pulled back into him like before, your arms still trapped inside. You hummed, satisfied with your victory and the total fluffy warmth that enveloped you.
You would be sure to express the depth of your gratitude to him later.

Request: OPEN/CLOSED
Summary: One misheard conversation turns Y/N and Spencer’s perfect friendship upside down. Now, she needs him to play pretend for her parents wedding. Will their friendship last this one little hiccup? Or will it change how they see each other forever?
A.N Guess who's back in the house?? Sorry for my long hiatus I didn't have a way to write for a while but now with my new laptop. I plan on writing a lot more! reply to this if you want to be back on my taglist. Love, Cia
Chapter 3: I know you were way too bright for me
You sprinted across the quad at record speed. In fact, you’d be surprised if a track coach didn’t try to recruit you because you knew you had to be breaking some type of record. You saw Spencer walking from his Advanced Physics class when you tackled him from behind, sending him toppling over.
Spencer sputtered for a second before turning over realizing it was you. “Y-Y/N, What the heck?!”
“Shut up.” You say, from your perch on top of him. You pull the folded piece of paper out of your back pocket, shoving it in the taller man’s face. “Read it and weep.”
Spencer squinted slightly at the paper. “This is a C…”
“Hell yea, it’s a C!” You say, excitedly. “In calculus! Effectively bringing my D up to a low C.”
“And we’re happy?”
“Yes!” You say, shaking the man by his shoulders. “Because I never have to take that shit again, which means we’re going out tonight.”
Spencer groans which you mock. “Don’t you think you should be studying instead? To bump that grade up.”
“Nope, C’s get degrees, so I’m getting shots. Which means you are too.”
“Fine… but you’ll have to let me up first.” Spencer says. You mumble a quick ‘oh yea’ as you get up off the man’s lap. He brushes the dirt off his pants as he stands with a small frown on his face.
The two of you walk in silence in the direction of the bar just off campus before Spencer looks over at you.
“I’m proud of you for getting a C, Y/N.” Spencer smiles down at you. “I know you were struggling with Calculus. You should be proud.”
You smile up at the man. Spencer doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to the supernova you seemed to hide behind your teeth. “Thank you, Spence.”
—-----------------------------------------
“Let’s just tell her we both died.” You say, as you drive down the road that leads closer and closer to your childhood home. “We’re in the FBI, she’ll believe it.”
Spencer laughs. “Faking your death won’t solve our problems, Y/N.”
“Fine… witness protection then.”
“We’re gonna be fine, our story is air-tight, we prepped for this, and it’s only for a week.”
You sank more and more into your seat as Spencer turned down Cherrytree Drive, your childhood street. You couldn’t help the dread that entered your heart as you passed the big tree you used to climb as a kid which was also how you broke your arm in the 7th grade.
Spencer parks in your parents' very expensive, long driveway. Your parents were both doctors and did fairly well for themselves even after retirement due to some good investments. Spencer looked over at the petrified look on your face and gave you a pity smile.
“Look, if you want we can say there was a last minute case and we can turn back. But it’s your parent’s anniversary and even though you don’t like the circumstances, I know you’d be more upset if you missed it.” You blew a breath, you knew Spencer was right, as he often was. “I’ll be right here… Whatever you want to do.”
You sigh again. “Fine, let’s just get this over with.” You say, before swinging the car door open.
The first person you see is your sister running down the front steps, her mellow-demeanored husband following shyly behind her. You run halfway to meet her as Spencer grabs your bags.
“Y/N!” The wind is knocked out of you slightly as the 2 of you collided. “God, it’s been too long, how come you never visit?”
“You know, my work schedule. We’re just lucky the serial killers took a break this week.” You laugh at your sister’s scared expression. She never liked the details of your job, being one of those people who thought Serial killers only existed in the 70s.
She changes the subject almost as soon as possible. “I see you roped Spencer into saving you from the Momster. Do you really think you guys are gonna pull it off?”
“Well, Spencer seems to think so and he’s smarter than me, so.”
Your sister hums for a second. “You know, I think you two are gonna pull it off.” She says, in a way that almost sounds sneaky, you raise an eyebrow at her. “You wanna know why I think you’re going to pull it off?”
You decide to indulge her. “I don’t know, why Rachel?”
“Because I don’t think you guys are going to make it through the week before realizing you’re madly in love with each other.” She says, making mock kissy faces at you which you push her for.
“Don’t be ridiculous, Rach, You know me and Spencer are just friends.”
She holds her hands up in mock defense. “Hey, I’m just saying. I don’t look at any of my friends the way the two of you look at each other. I’m just saying maybe this weekend, the party, all the Romantic energy.” Rachel says, wiggling her eyebrows at you. You roll your eyes at that. “Maybe you’ll see what I see.” Rachel shrugs.
“And what do you see?” You say, deciding to indulge her.
“A man who's completely in love with you.” She says, turning to the two men who were getting your bags from the car. Well, Jacob was getting the bags from the car while Spencer excitedly explained ancient marriage traditions. You can’t help the smile that spreads across your face. You look over at your sister who is smirking at you, you roll your eyes at her again.
“Come on, let’s go find mom.”
You find your mom standing at the kitchen counter baking while your little sister, Isabelle, was sitting on the other side of the kitchen island studying. You walk up and tussle her hair.
“Hey Squirt!” You say, excitedly.
“You know, I’m an adult now, right?” She says, hands moving up frantically to fix her hair. “I don’t like being called Squirt.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, Izzy.” You say, watching her grumble a soft ‘my name is Isabelle’ under her  breath before turning your attention to your mother. “Hey Mama.” You say, softly as you go into her waiting open arms.
“Oh, my baby! I’m so happy you were able to make it!” She says into your shoulder. She pulls away holding you at arms length. “So… where is he?” She questions in a kind of sing-song tone.
“Where’s who?” You say, deciding to play dumb to mess with your mother. She just levels you with a look. “He’s getting our bags with Jake.”
Your mother lets you go to swat at you. “I can’t believe you didn’t tell me you were dating Spencer! Of all people!”
“Yea, I know, Mama.” You say, already starting to feel bad for lying to your mother. “It’s just new and we work together… we just wanted to keep it under wraps and all.”
“And it’s not a problem? Working together?”
You shake your head. “Spencer and I work well together.”
“No, I mean dating and working together. Your coworkers don’t mind?”
“Oh.” You say, understanding her question now. “No, none so far. But we do different things for the team.”
“Oh, I know they were probably rooting for you crazy kids as much as we were. When I told your dad, he even smiled.” She says, happily. It doesn’t sound like much but for the stoic man it was practically jumping for joy.
As if on cue, Spencer walks in and your mother immediately forgets you exist. “Oh, Spencer!” She says, smiling brightly at the young man.
“Hi, Ms. Y/L/N.” He says, softly.
“Oh, honey, you can call me Abigail.” The older woman says. “Or even Mom if you’d like.”
“Ma!” You say, slightly embarrassed. “Do you think we could go upstairs and unpack? We had a long trip.”
“Of course, honey. I set up the guest room for you guys, unless you want to sleep in your old room?” Your mother asks. You frown at the thought of sleeping in your eye-draining bright pink room with Tween Beat posters probably still on the walls and shook your head.
“We’ll take the guest room.” You say, practically pulling Spencer away.
Once the two of you are secluded in the room, you take the first sigh of relief you had been holding.
“We can still back out if you want.” You say, as Spencer sets your bags down. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know my mom would be so… pushy immediately.”
“I did.” You give Spencer a confused expression. “I’ve been preparing for this since you asked me. I know what your family’s like, it can't be any worse than what we do everyday.”
“It could be. It’s my mother.”
As if you were speaking of the devil, you hear the familiar rapping of your formative years on the door before your mother just fully walks in half-covering her eyes with her hands.
“Hope everyone’s decent?”
“We’ve been up here for 4 minutes, Ma.” You say, rolling your eyes while Spencer smirked at the antics of your mother.
“I just wanted to see what you were wearing tonight.” Your mom smiled. You and Spencer looked up shocked.
“Umm, what’s tonight, mother?” You say, eyebrows raised. Your mom holds her hands up in mock surrender.
“I know we said we were only having the two parties for the vow renewal but I was so excited that you were coming home and bringing Spencer. I may have invited a couple of people over for dinner tonight.”
You clench your jaw, knowing your moms game. “Uh-huh, a couple of people… And how many is a couple people?”
“Like… maybe 50… or 70?”
“Mom! We’ve been traveling all day, I hardly think we’ll be the best entertainment.”
“Oh, I’m sure you’ll be fine. It’s only dinner anyway.” Your mom says, tapping your cheek in that enduring this is not open for discussion way she tends to do. “Now, try to look presentable, people will start arriving by 6.” She says, leaving without another word.
“Shit!” You exclaim, frustratedly, face planting into the bed “Spencer, honestly if you want to leave right now, I wouldn’t blame you. I should’ve known she’d pull some shit like this.” You say, muffled into the clean sheets.
You feel a hand at the small of your back. You ignore the warm feeling that travels up your spine at Spencer’s touch. You knew this weekend was gonna be a test of your self-control but if a hand on your back was going to make you dizzy then maybe you needed to be the one to back out this weekend.
“I know who your mom is too, so I already anticipated it. However, if you just want to leave, we can go.”
“But then I’d feel bad, I dragged you out here, made you help me with a ruse…”
“You need to remember, I came here for you. I decided to go along with this for you, because you asked me to. I care about you. I’ll do whatever you want.”
You turn over and look up at Spencer and you can’t help but feel your heart sink. Here was a man, who had done nothing but make sure you were okay the entire duration of your friendship and all you could think of was the softness of his eyes. How the light in the room danced in his eyes, how his jaw looked in his position above you. Spencer was a good friend, your best friend, and he was here because he wanted to help his friend. And here you were unable to stop the fluttery feeling in your stomach when he looked at you. You knew you liked Spencer but you also knew you didn’t deserve Spencer. As a friend or… anything else. The absolute least you could do was try to be a good friend, so you swallow that feeling before smiling up at Spencer.
“It’s just the weekend, right?” You say. “Nothing changes.”
Spencer looks slightly remorseful, only for a brief second before smiling back at you. “Yea.. nothing changes.”

I'm dream ending for Spencer from criminal minds: he gets a boyfriend and they adopt a baby girl. Spencer so should have been a dad.
Spencer should’ve get to become a parent most of all of them. Like, he’s the only one who clearly, repeatedly stated his desire for it, constantly connected with every child he met and went into full on protective mode over them.
I’ve never really shipped him with anyone, but I’ve read SpencerXReader fanfics, so my ideal ending is him with me 🤪😂😂

Masterlist I Requests
The receptionist had been incredibly helpful, directing you to your destination succinctly and perfectly. You had allowed yourself an extra ten minutes, wanting to be on time but doubting your own ability to navigate an unfamiliar environment. The building, at least the parts of it you saw on your journey to Spencer’s office, was grandiose in a strangely cosy kind of way. Although, you thought distantly, the patter of rain upon thick windows always inspired a cosy feeling.
The corridors were rapidly emptying as you wandered against the flow of quickly exiting students. Wistfully, you remembered these days; rushing from the building on a Friday night to ignore your impending assignments in favour of some disappointing party that ended in you throwing up in your dorm room. And now, here you were all these years later, on a Friday night rushing to meet your husband.
Time really is a funny thing.
Your existential musings paused as you reached his door. The sight of his name on the door made you smile as you tapped your knuckles against the door. Spencer answered quickly. An affection softened his gaze as he recognised you and quickly ushered you inside. Behind the privacy of a closed door you smoothed your hands over his chest and raised precariously onto your tiptoes to peck his lips.
“Hi,” he gave when you dropped down to your heels, his hands lightly placed over the curve of your hips.
“I missed you,” you responded with a smile.
It was true; you had missed him terribly. Now that his presence on a case was not an inevitability that you could count on, you struggled through each day away from him with nothing but his voice on the phone to keep you company. You honestly could not understand how JJ had managed all these years.
Spencer ducked his head to kiss you, confirmation enough that he had missed you too. “How was it?” He asked quietly.
You shrugged with a sigh. He knew as well as you that your cases were never able to be summarised in a selection of light-hearted footnotes. “It was…heavy.”
He nodded his understanding, lips pursing in concern as he sent a sweeping gaze over your figure. “But you’re okay?”
“Yeah,” you told him, because you were; despite the purple-green bruise flowering over your ribs that he could not see beneath your shirt.
The air felt heavy, your reunion weighed down by the still unshared details of this last case. You tried to lighten the mood, change the topic; the case and all it’s paperwork were not going anywhere and would still be awaiting you Monday morning. “Are you not gonna give me a tour, Professor?” You asked, a teasing smile leaving you, as you sent a brief gaze over your surroundings.
Spencer laughed with a nod, stepping back from you as he looked over the space. “Sure,” he prefaced, moving to gesture at his desk. “This is my desk,” he told you, obviously.
Hiding your giggle behind the back of your hand, you moved to the chair tucked behind the desk. With the most puzzled expression you could muster, you pointed to it and asked; “What is this?”
Lips twisting, he played along. “That is a chair.”
Tutting, you gave the chair a light push and absently watched it spin. “Aren’t you supposed to stand up more at work or something? Sitting is the new smoking, right?”
“Actually,” you smiled to yourself as you looked up to watch the lengthy explanation you were sure to receive. “Despite numerous studies into that claim, no link between sitting at work and poor overall health have ever been made.” You nodded, watching and waiting for more as you dropped into his chair. “It’s actually widely considered to be socioeconomic factors linked to when, why and how often individuals-“
An almost timid knock upon his door interrupted his spiel of impressive, if not obscure, knowledge. A little disgruntled at this interruption, you peered at the door. “Sorry,” he told you, as though the interruption were somehow his fault, moving to open the door.
Just before the door clicked open, you gave a reassuring, “it’s okay.”
From your position seated at the desk you could not see who was standing on the other side of the threshold. You ignored their conservation, attention roving instead over the finer details of his office. Books were piled on almost every available flat surface, their spines pointed towards you with names you couldn’t hope to decipher. On his desk there was a picture of the pair of you; it was almost funny, in a sweet kind of way, that he even thought to include that. Could Spencer not merely close his eyes and conjure the perfect image of you?
You were in the middle of making a mental note to ask him about that when your ears caught upon the conversation still happening in the doorway.
Spencer, strangely, sounded confused. “From what I understand, your grades are perfectly fine.”
“But,” came an oddly lowered voice, “extra-credit couldn’t hurt, right?”
Your eyes widened and mouth dropped open as you wondered if this were really happening right now. Surely, you were placing intentions on the girl’s words that were not actually there. Surely.
If Spencer had come to the same conclusion as you, he very kindly pretended that he hadn’t and offered her a way out. “I don’t think you’re actually in my class.” The way he phrased it was strangely thoughtful. He most certainly would remember if she was in his class but his act of uncertainty may save her from embarrassment. Well, you thought wryly, more embarrassment.
She did not take the offered escape route. Voice dropping even lower, sounding now as though she had a substantial cough rather than the seduction she had likely hoped for, she pushed further. “Oh, but surely there’s something I can do for you?”
Something in the way she said it made it impossible to stifle your laughter. A cough escaped you as you struggled against your fit of giggles. Realising that the conversation at the door had entirely stalled in response to your laughter, you slapped a hand over your mouth - still quietly giggling.
The girl’s voice sounded again, significantly higher in pitch. “Who’s that?” You could almost imagine the deer in headlights expression overtaking her at the prospect of being discovered in her misguided attempts to seduce a professor.
“Oh,” Spencer gave, a lightness in the tone as his head turned to look at you. “It’s just my wife.” You had risen from the chair at this point, darting around the desk to catch sight of the poor girl and sending her an awkward wave as you did so.
She looked very nice, you had to admit; she had chosen a skirt, of course, but had paired it with such a nice shirt that you almost wanted to ask where she had bought it. “Nice to meet you,” you told her instead.
“You…I-“ she stuttered out, mortification overtaking her youthful visage. Quickly, she shot out, “thanks for the help,” before almost running away down the corridor.
Spencer lingered at the doorway briefly, expression indicating that his mind was busy trying to decipher a reasonable explanation for the interaction. When he closed the door you allowed yourself laugh more fully, secure in the knowledge that the poor girl would not hear you now.
Raising your eyebrows at his lack of response, you asked; “has that happened before?”
Looking back at the door, eyes crinkled in confusion, he shook his head. “I’m not even sure what happened.”
You rolled your eyes at him. Stepping closer, you smoothed a hand over his arm in an attempt to reassure that you were not about to get mad about a student trying so hard to seduce him. “Oh, come on, sweetheart.” You pushed.
His confusion did not abate even with your prompting.
“Really?” You asked, disbelieving. “You, an experienced FBI profiler, cannot work out what just happened?”
Your insistence seemed only to confuse him more as he looked back at the closed door once more as though it held the answer. When, somehow, his brain remained without a solution you huffed another laugh.
“God,” you began, feeling a little awkward with no understanding as to why. “I don’t know how to explain this nicely. She was…” you pinched the bridge or your nose, “flirting with you.”
At your words, he looked utterly taken aback. “Why?”
Hands smoothing over his chest, dipping beneath his blazer, you cocked your head with a smirk. “Oh, I don’t know,” you murmured wryly, “why would anyone want to flirt with their handsome, smart, sweet Professor who explains things with his large hands as much as he does with his mouth?”
Eyebrows raised, he swallowed thickly at the seduction you sprinkled into the words. “I-uh-I don’t think that’s what she was doing?”
You knew him well enough to recognise that he really was being sincere. You felt a little stab of guilt as you looked at him. He had been definitively stuck in to minds over this partial reassignment, part of him almost excitable at the prospect of academia but another part anxious to be away from cases, the team, and - of course - you. You didn’t want to ruin this positivity by informing him that at least one student was more interested in sleeping with him than his syllabus. “Well,” you started diplomatically, “maybe your wife is a little biased.”
He seemed unconvinced by this change in your words. You weren’t entirely surprised, you had been so adamant earlier and were now trying to change your tune. You really didn’t feel like spelling it out for him but he was leaving you with little choice. You decided to play it coy; you could at least have some fun with this uncomfortable discussion.
Batting your eyelashes, you ducked your head to look up at him through fluttering lashes. “Oh Professor,” you gushed, leaning into him, “there must be something I can do.” Reaching up, you loosened his tie - fingertips lightly tapping against the thrumming pulse in his neck. “There’s really nothing I can do for you to get an A?”
Arching a brow at him, hoping you managed to get your point across, you smirked as he let out an almost laughing breath. “I-uh-think I get it.”
Pressing your lips to his cheek, skin tickled by his dusting of stubble, you giggled. “I always forget you went to college at like… four.”
He laughed properly at that, “I wasn’t four,” he all but scoffed.
“Close enough,” you muttered with a shrug, redoing his tie where you had loosened it. “I do like this professor look on you though.”
His warm hands squeezed your waist as he smiled at that. Brow suddenly furrowing in what you recognised as contemplation, he quickly asked; “wait, so did you… proposition your professors?”
You giggled freely at the question. “No,” you let out between laughter, just managing to tuck his tie back beneath his blazer. “I did ask for extra credit though.”
“You did?” He asked, watching you with great interest as you smoothed his collar and pushed back his hair.
You hummed your affirmative, before adding with a wry smirk; “I didn’t come to the tail end of their office hours in a mini-skirt and with hot red lips though.” After a quick, affectionate, swipe of your thumb over his cheek, you stepped away to collect his satchel from behind his desk. “I turned up in floods of tears, mascara tracking down my cheeks, basically on my knees begging them not to fail me.”
His lips quirked up. “That’s quite an image.”
“What, me crying and hyperventilating over my shitty grades?” You asked, winking at him. “Or me on my knees and begging?”
Head falling back slightly, hands lazily slung into his pockets, he looked over your figure with a delicious gaze. His smirk was answer enough. Lithely, you slunk back to stand before him. “I like the way you think, Professor.”
You reached him, fingers walking up his chest and doe eyes blinking up at him. “Your bag,” you offered, hanging the item from his shoulder.
Greedy hands pulled you closer, arms winding around your waist as his large palms pressed against your shoulder blades, keeping you flush against him. After all this time you would have thought that you would be used to kissing Spencer - but you weren’t. Butterflies still fluttered through your stomach, your heart still swooped, and your head still swam with an excited dizziness. Hands in his hair, forgetting where you were and where you were supposed to be, you opened your lips beneath his.
A sudden, unexpected vibration buzzed in the space between you and you pulled back with a breathy laugh. “And what is that, Professor?”
Reaching into his pocket, revealing his buzzing phone, he muttered an almost strained reply. “Please, stop calling me that.”
“I kinda think you like it,” you whispered as he answered the phone, “Professor,” you murmured into his other ear.
The way his eyes burned so passionately into yours told you that you would end up reaping the benefits of this game at some point in the near future. You pressed your lips softly against the hollow of his neck as he spoke into the phone.
“Uh- yeah,” he stuttered into the receiver, struggling against your ministrations. “We - uh- we’re on our way.”
He hung up quickly after that, the tinny voice on the phone getting cut off mid-sentence. “Sounds like we gotta go.”
“Unfortunately,” he eked out, sending a last set of kisses against your jaw.
“Stop distracting me, Professor,” you purred. “And let’s go.”

AN2: sorry if there are any errors, i honestly didn’t check lol enjoy!
---
Reader’s POV:
I could feel his hands on me all night.
First, his hands were on my ass, squeezing it tightly between his hand and then rubbing it gently to ease the delicious bruise that was sure to show up the next morning.
Then, his hands were snaked around my waist as he leaned down to place a small kiss on my shoulder then neck. I could feel him smiling lovingly at me as I talked with Penelope about our sleepover the next weekend.
Finally, by the end of the night, half of Spencer’s body weight was resting on me as he kissed a line down my neck and to the tops of my breasts. I stifled a moan, clamping my thighs together as he sucked the sensitive skin; not caring about our team laughing and cheering him on.
To be fair, I wasn’t really aware of them either.
“Spence,” I huffed lightly, trying my best not to jump his fucking bones in the middle of a crowded bar. I pulled him off of me and he whined, his hands gripping my waist then ass. I stood on my toes and kissed his red lips. “Let’s go home, baby.”
Spencer nodded, but attached his right hand to the side of my breast, cupping it. He kissed the top of it, his other hand going to my thin dress strap, pulling it down, trying to get more skin. He sat in front of me, blocking any stares from onlookers.
I hesitantly pushed him off, adjusting my strap. I wanted him badly, but I wasn’t about to get naked in a bar in front of our coworkers, who were now grinding on each other or minding their own business!
“M’sorry, love, I didn’ wanna make you uncomfortable I just need you.” He whispered, sending chills to scuttle down my spine like spiders.
I sloppily kissed him, and he reciprocated, kissing me back.
“I wan’ go home,” I whimpered, and he nodded against me, cupping my jaw. “Can we go home, Spencie?”
Spencer’s demeanor changed and he smiled against my lips, kissing them.
“Let’s go home, my love.”
--
We had just made it into our apartment after taking a taxi home, when Spencer pressed me against the wall, kissing my lips hungrily.
“I want-- I wan’--” Spencer slurred as he kissed down my neck, rutting his hips against mine as we made it to the carpeted floor of our living room.
I knew exactly what he wanted.
I kissed him as I quickly pulled to straps of my dress down to my naked breasts. Spencer attached his lips to my nipple, circling the pierced bud and flicking it with his tongue as he massaged my other breast with his hand.
I moaned, my pussy throbbing.
My moans built louder and louder and, unexpectedly, my body washed over with a mind-numbing orgasm as Spencer switched between breasts.
He moaned against my skin, his hips not moving one bit as he took care of me.
“Fuck,” I whined, combing my fingers through his hair as I tried to catch my breath.
I never had anything like that, and from the way Spencer looked up at me, I could tell he was proud. Of both me and him.
I giggled lightly and sat up, getting ready to give Spencer his reward before he stopped me.
“I-I might’ve already-”
I looked down from his flushed face to see that he had already came.
“I-I’m sorry! J-just the sounds you were making were so nice an’ I just-!”
I cut his rambles off with another heated kiss.
“Don’t apologize, baby,” I whispered, kissing him softer this time. “Just fuck me.”
A switch flipped in Spencer’s head and he smirked, his pupils darkening.
“I thought one orgasm was enough?”
That smug bastard.
I smiled sweetly back.
“It’s never enough with you.”
Spencer chuckled as he connected his lips with mine, beginning our stumbling to the bedroom. “You’re insatiable, my love.”
“Says the one sucking my tits at the bar!” I scoffed, and Spencer turned red.
“S-sorry about that, I didn’t wanna make you uncomfortable or anythi-”
Again, I cut him off.
“Spence, stop second-guessing yourself. Look where your heavy-petting led us.”
Spencer smiled and I reciprocated the look as he pushed us onto the bed, unbuckling his belt.
“If this is how you react to me kissing you at the bar, I’m gonna do this all the time.”

Right Here, Right Now
Heyyyy guysss :) Not only is this my first post to this blog this is the first time I’ve written in a long time. I was listening to Kiss U Right Now by DUCKWRTH and a small idea I got from the song turned into this! I recommend playing the song when you get to that part of the story ;)))
Description: You've always been able to feel his eyes on you, his presence when you're in the same room is unmistakable. Yet he never gets too close to touch. Until right here, right now. Warnings: angst, case discussions, alcohol Word Count: 4.6k
Tumblr media
Part 1
You could not wait for today to be over. It's been filled with paperwork that always seems to be never ending, which turns into never ending coffee, which turns into you fidgeting for most of the day. Unwinding at Garcia's place tonight was all you could look forward to. Starting to zone out you stare blankly at your computer while twirling your pen in between your fingers. You are finally pulled away from the screen by Emily approaching your desk. She sits on the edge of your desk and you watch her roll her eyes.
"So how many bottles of wine do I bring to girls night tonight?" She sounded just as fed up with today as you were.
You chuckle and hold up all ten fingers raising your eyebrows as you both begin laughing. As you turn to face Emily you notice Spencer looking at you. It was subtle with his head down and eyes up not wanting anyone to notice, especially you. He quickly glances away, eyes darting back to his work while biting his cheek. The two of you seemed to share these small unspoken conversations more than you actually talked. You try to focus back on Emily telling you about her bad nights sleep. Luckily JJ serves as your distraction from Spencer as she walks up to your desk.
"Garcia wants to know everyones snack choices for tonight. I'm bringing a variety pack of chips. Henry's soccer team will just have to settle on fruit snacks tomorrow." JJ says as she raises her eyebrows and tilts her head. You all giggle but you can feel Spencer peeking up at you again. You've always been able to feel when his eyes are on you.
"Well you can tell Garcia mine will be that amazing ice cream she can only seem to find." You smirk.
"You know I can't pass up the chance to indulge in some oreos." Emily says as she sticks her tongue out from the corner of her mouth.
"Ohh you kill me every time with the oreos. My guilty pleasure!" JJ groans before heading off to relay the snack list to Garcia.
Emily pats her hand against your desk a couple times before heading back to her own. Suddenly you hear Hotch announce "We've got a case" from above. He marches over to the conference room. Emily looks at you while groaning, and you drop your head in defeat.
"Well that was fun while it lasted." You mumble as you all begin making your way across the bullpen.
As you all file into the room you see Spencer right behind you. Taking a second you notice how nice he smells you say a quick prayer in hopes he sits next to you. Suddenly Rossi plops down in the seat instead replacing Spencers cologne with the smell of cigars. You glance up at Spencer for a split second and he returns the quick exchange taking the seat across the table. Suddenly he feels so far away.
"How is that every time I get a fresh set of cigars we get a case?" Rossi sighs. Normally you would joke with him but you can't help but be a little annoyed.
"Maybe it's a sign to stop." You say dryly the annoyance more apparent in your voice than you meant it to be. He frowns at you along with a few others, obviously surprised by the reply from you. Feeling guilty you go to say sorry before Spencer cuts you off.
"Studies show cigar smoking causes 9,000 premature deaths annually." He says turning to stare at the screen.
"Well I think with this job I'm willing to risk the odds." Rossi says as he leans back in his chair. The team is quiet for a second. Still feeling a little embarrassed you glare at Spencer before Garcia walks in. As the files are being passed around the table she starts explaining the case.
"3 bodies have been found around the Myakka River in Florida and they think the cause of death was poison. All random, all within the past 4 months. If the unsub sticks to his timeline we have a week to find him before he strikes again."
"Why are we just now hearing about this?" Derek asks.
"2 of the victims were found by alligators in the area. So running tests on them took longer than normal." Penelope replies sadly.
"He's betting on the alligators finding them, not people. The alligators clearly didn't want much to do with them though." Emily looks over they pictures in her file.
"So whatever they're being poisoned with is strong enough to stop hungry alligators?" JJ says doubtfully.
"It's more likely that the alligators were able to detect they were sick in some way before fully... continuing further." Spencer says as the team groans in sympathy.
You wait for Hotch to give the go. "Alright, wheels up in 30."
                                       ________________________
Stepping onto the jet you notice the back of Spencer's head in his seat. You make you way over and sit in the seat next to him.
"Um so why did you defend me earlier? I was kind of a bitch to Rossi back there." You peer at him still feeling slightly embarrassed from the team seeing what happened. Your thumbs twiddling in your lap. He just stares at his book and scrunches his nose. You wait for a response before letting out a sigh and standing up.
"Just making sure he knew the facts." He stays focused on the book and doesn't elaborate any further.
You move to the back of the jet waiting for the rest of the team. It's so hard to read Spencer. He doesn't talk to you as much, but you can always feel his presence when you're in the room together. Frustrated in him not wanting to talk more you rest your head on the back of the seat and twist your hair around your finger, he glances at you one more time as the team files in.
After going over the case on the jet Hotch starts pairing you off into groups. "Prentiss and Morgan head over to the M.E to see what else you can find. Rossi, JJ, and I will head to the dumpsites. Reid and Y/n set up at the station and start working on a geographical profile."
You felt your breath hitch for a moment as you glance over at Spencer to acknowledge the pairing. He keeps his eyes on Hotch. As the flight lands everyone begins pairing off into their groups. Getting to the SUV's Spencer climbs into the passenger seat and you quickly start driving. You were feeling a little nervous with Spencer now. It had been awhile since you've been teamed up even though you two tend to work well together. Despite the lack of personal conversations the two of you had, working with him was easy. The silence was finally broken when you worked up the courage to speak.
"I noticed you were writing down some notes earlier. Do you want to share?" You asked, biting the inside of your cheek.
"Why were you watching me?" He looked over at you finally.
"I- I wasn't watching you. I just happened to notice." Furrowing your brows you glance over at Spencer.
"The bodies all seem to be within a 15 mile radius of one another. There's something within that area of the lake he's attached to." He says with a frown staring out the window.
"Well we've ruined whatever plans he's made finding his dumpsites." You start to call Garcia.
"Sugar, spice, and everything nice. Hello Blossom to my Buttercup!" She says with such excitement you can hear her smile.
"Um I'm pretty sure you're Blossom, Garcia." You reply letting out a little laugh. Moving your phone to its car mount, your arm gently brushes against Spencers for a second. He quickly moves his arm to rest by his side and tugs on his seatbelt. You notice a heat rushing over his cheeks.
"Garcia you need to do a search for anything of significance that has happened in or around the lake in the past year." Spencer speaks up.
"Okay, but lets try asking a little more politely?" Garcia replies in an annoyed tone.
"Uh- please." Spencer clears his throat.
"There we go. Your wish is my command!" She says before hanging up. You can't help but let out a quiet laugh. He frowns at you before looking back out the window.
Making your way into the station you greet the local PD. They go over the latest victim and you are led to their conference room. You start putting notes together and pictures on the board. Spencer is staring intensely at the map, his finger held up to his mouth.
"Can I borrow that marker?" He sticks his arm out waiting for you to hand it to him.
"Wow for an eidetic memory you sure do forget to say please a lot." You turn your head to him as he looks at you slightly annoyed. Instead of just handing the marker to him you take a step over and look at the map. Keeping hold of the marker you begin pointing.
"So he's dumping the bodies here, here, and here?" You turn your head with the marker purposely pointing at the wrong spot. As you turn to look at him he's still staring at you. Locking eyes you notice his jaw clenching.
"No, here." He says still staring at you, leaving barely any space between your hand and his. It starts feeling hot in the room. You normally don't act like this with one another, but you feel something stirring inside you. Feeling your nerves take over, you can feel your cheeks blushing deeply. You stand there for a second longer before you finally hand him the marker.
"Thank you." His eyes look you up and down before marking the map.
Becoming flustered you turn and tuck your hair behind your ear searching the table for something to break the tension. A breath of relief washes over you as Emily and Derek enter the room. Sharing their new found information you start putting more pieces together. Eventually it's time to head to the hotel.
Grabbing your keycard from JJ you plan on taking a nice long shower to clear your mind. Stepping off the elevator onto your floor you say goodnight to JJ. You notice Spencer down the hallway, your nerves rising back up. As you approach him he slows down and stops at the door which happens to be across from yours. You can see him peek at you from the side of his eye as he unlocks his door. You begin to open your door and turn back to look at him. He stares back at you before closing his door.
Dumping your bag in your room you try relaxing your muscles and take in a deep breath. Quickly undressing you head to the bathroom bringing your toiletries with you. Turning the shower on you bite your lip thinking of the feelings between you and Spencer today. He always seems to be slightly frustrated around you, which made you feel confused. It's hard to ignore the way you feel when you catch him looking at you, but you try to calm the butterflies down convincing yourself he doesn't feel the same way. Stopping yourself you step into the shower and feel the warm water wash over you, taking your mind off of how confusing today was. Finishing your night time routine you make your way to the plush bed, scrolling through your phone before trying to fall asleep without thinking of Spencer.
                            ____________________________________
As Spencer closed his door he let out a loud huff and put his bags on the bench in the room. He stuck his arm out to lean on the wall. Dropping his head down the need to feel her touch is firing off of him. His pent up frustration caused his pants to grow tighter. Thoughts of her keep racing in his mind, all the times he catches her before she catches him, when she softly brushes past him in hallways, the way she plays with her hair while she's deep in thought. He starts taking deep breaths to try and stop thinking about her. Still too afraid to admit his own emotions to himself he steps into the bathroom. Feeling hot while trying to ignore his growing bulge he undoes his tie and pulls his sweater off. Rolling up his sleeves he starts splashing cold water on his face. Leaning over the sink he lets the water drip off his lips and nose. Something about the way she catches his attention scares him because he feels like he could lose control at any second. He closes his eyes and continues breathing slowly. After cooling down he dries his face and goes to change. Grabbing his book from the plane along with 2 others he makes his way to his bed, forcing himself to read.
                             ____________________________________
Waking up to your 5:15 am alarm clock you groggily turn it off. You get a text as you pick your phone up.
Hotchner: Good morning everyone. Be up and ready in 30. We will meet down in the lobby.
You begin to scroll over the rest of your notifications until you jump out of bed and stretch your arms up. After getting your thoughts together you go through your morning routine with a slight jitter in your hands as you begin to think about Spencer. Luckily it wasn't enough to keep you from messing up your eyeliner or mascara. You slip on a pair of black jeans, your favorite black boots, and a white tee shirt. Completing the look you holster your gun, and pop your blazer on. Giving yourself one final scan in the mirror you finish with a quick spritz of perfume and head out the door. Stepping out in the hallway you notice Spencer waiting down by the elevator. Dressed in his usual sweater, button down, tie combo you take him in. He's fiddling with his bag and doesn't seem to notice you nearing.
"Good morning..." You say softly hoping not to startle him. He continues searching his bag without returning a hello. Biting your lip you can't help but ask what he's looking for.
"Did you lose something?" You keep your voice quiet not wanting to annoy him or the people still getting to enjoy sleep so early in the morning.
"No." He finally replies, giving up on his search. You nod and the elevator finally dings, its doors open. He looks a little more tired and stressed than usual so you choose to stay quiet.
"It's just a small bottle of some cologne. It was a gift from my mom, otherwise I wouldn't really care if it went missing." He presses the L button and the elevator starts moving. You were a little surprised he elaborated on his answer.
"Oh, well I'll make sure to look out for it. She has good taste, it smelled nice." Your face immediately goes red, you look down in hopes your hair will hide your blushing cheeks. You could smack yourself for letting that slip out. As the doors to the elevator open you feel Spencer's finger brush against yours so softly you hardly felt it. You shoot your head up as you watch him exit, almost forgetting to get off as well.
Spencer's finger is burning as he takes off down the lobby. Clenching his hands around his strap he tries to keep his focus on the team ahead but he can't shake the feeling away. His mind is yelling at him for his actions, but his chest is about to burst. The burning from his finger getting a touch of your skin is overwhelming him. The butterflies he's kept caged forever are starting to stir. Reaching the team he hears her footsteps approaching making his heart beat faster. Tucking his hand in his pocket he takes a gulp. Hotch starts breaking down the day but as hard as he tries to listen he can't. All he can pay attention to is the smell of her perfume; sweet and warm. It matches her personality perfectly. Staring at Hotch he sees his lips moving but doesn't hear a word he's saying until he hears his name. "Reid and Y/n head to the latest victims house." He bites the inside of his cheek as he fights his feelings in his head. Preparing himself for another day of controlling his urges, he makes his way for the door. Hopping in the car he stays silent, as does she. The air feels like its on fire and he begins to wonder if he's made the wrong move.
You can still feel his touch as you grasp the steering wheel. All it took was his pinky gliding over yours to put you in a tizzy. You peek over at him but this time you're too nervous to speak. Resting your arm on the center console, he places his arm next to yours. Leaving the smallest bit of space between the two of you again. Your hand clutches the steering wheel tighter too afraid to move. You both stay silent the entire ride over.
Walking up to the house you flash your credentials to be let in. Your mind is finally able to shift gears. Entering the house you follow him into the main room carefully taking a look around. The home was filled with plants of every shape and size.
"It's a shame most of these plants are probably going to die after being so cared for." You say in a bittersweet tone while appreciating them. Pausing for a moment you feel a thought brewing. "Wait, what if our unsub is creating his own poisons? I'm seeing some dangerous plants here, I think that could be our connection." You say walking further around the house.
Spencer scans over the bookshelf in the room and calls you over. You walk over and stand closer to him than normal. He pauses for a moment before pointing to a picture setting on top of the shelf.
"Do you know what that is?" He asks quietly, still scanning the picture.
"The plant? Umm not specifically, no." You return matching his quiet volume.
"It's nerium oleander, an extremely toxic plant that is poisonous to both livestock and humans. The toxic principles are two glycosides, oleandrin, and nerioside. Symptoms if ingested can be severe, cardiac irregularities can begin, often characterized by an increased heart rate. However, a slower heart rate is often detected in the later stages. Each dumpsite had this species of flower growing around it." He says quickly scanning over the rest of the shelf.
"I think we just found our secret ingredient." You stare at him for a second admiring just how smart he is before calling Garcia.
                            ____________________________________
Spencer's discovery of the flowers lead to the break in the case saving the life of one more victim. The unsub was an alchemist abducting customers from the greenhouse he owned. Finding him didn't take long once you knew where to look. The team gleefully boarded the jet since the case was a fast one. You all were able to leave before the day was even over.
"I think a quick case calls for some celebration!" Derek says.
After excitedly agreeing you sat with JJ and Emily. You couldn't help but notice Spencer deep in thought while reading.
"What about you pretty boy?" Derek shoves Spencer's shoulder. Spencer glares at Derek and replies to get him to back off.
"I'll think about it." He says before quickly glancing over at you before looking back at his book. You turn your attention away from him and back to the girls.
Spencer feels the cage rattling in his stomach again. He tries making it stop but he doesn't want to miss the chance of seeing her celebrate tonight. He starts replaying the first time she went out with them in his head. Her laugh filling his ears over the loud music, her smile beaming from across the room. His biggest regret was leaving early when she finally sat down to take a break from dancing. She was tipsy and breathing a little heavy from dancing. When she sat next to him she let out a soft moan of relief when taking a sip of her drink. He clutched his glass harder hearing her.
"You don't look like you're having much fun Doctor!" She rested her hand on her chin looking at him and then his glass of water. He was clenching his jaw and began to remove himself from the table.
"I'm not so that's why I'm leaving." He noticed her frown before turning to walk away. He forced himself to do the exact opposite of everything he wanted to do. His fist clenched in his pocket and he stepped outside waiting for a taxi to appear. After realizing how worked up he was becoming he told himself to stop. This time there would be no seeking advice from Derek, no getting too close, no butterflies. That was the plan he set in stone and that was the plan she was now quickly unraveling after all this time.
Pulling himself back to reality he peeked at her every now and then the rest of the way home, catching her eye from time to time.
                           ____________________________________
Having a little spare time you decided to get ready with the girls at Garcia's place before heading to the bar. You always kept a backup outfit in your car for times like these. She was the best person to get ready with, always hyping her girls up.
"Y/n that dress is capital H.O.T." She beams at you while slipping her shoes on. You wink at her and pull out your makeup bag. You had to admit the dress hugged you perfectly and made you feel confident. Popping your lipstick on you turned to the girls and shook your head.
"I think we all look capital H.O.T" You smirk before turning to leave. You could feel your nerves rising as you all gathered into the car, you tried to calm down since you weren't even sure if Spencer was coming tonight.
Spencer was unsure of what to wear for tonight. After trying a few things on he opted in on a simple light blue button down and rolled his sleeves up. He was fumbling with his hair as his phone buzzed knowing it was Derek. Before heading out he made sure to spray on a little of his no longer missing cologne. Hopping in the car Derek noticed a little shift in his demeanor.
"What's got you all nervous?" Derek asks with a smirk after driving for a bit.
"Nothing, I just haven't gone out in awhile. This isn't really my thing you know." He kept his eyes on the road.
"Well maybe if you drank with us you wouldn't feel so awkward every time." Derek let out a little chuckle.
He felt his palms getting sweaty as they pulled up to the bar. Seeing Penelope's car he knew she was already here. He wiped his palms on his knees quickly before getting out of the car. Making their way in the bar Derek yelled out "Now the real fun can begin!"
Everyone cheered in return as Spencer searched the room for her. Once he found her at the bar his eyes took her in before she could find him. He's seen her dressed up before but this time he was truly appreciating just how beautiful she is. Once her eyes met him he felt his heart thumping. Spencer tried to distract himself by taking a seat hoping no one noticed his staring.
The team talked for a bit while enjoying some drinks. They finally got up and started heading to the dance floor. You felt yourself a little confused as it seemed like Spencer was avoiding you. He was quiet and didn't seem to be engaged in any of the conversations. Instead of heading to the dance floor you made your way over to the bar asking for a water.
"You know I don't think anyone has said good job to you yet on breaking the case." You held out the water offering it to Spencer. Surprised by your presence he cleared his throat.
"What? Oh... thanks. You deserve credit too." He gave you a small nervous smirk and took the water. You sat down across from him shrugging.
"Once I saw that photo it was so obvious. I can't believe I didn't notice it sooner." He frowned.
"Spencer, you don't give yourself enough credit. You can't put that pressure on yourself to connect every dot right away. Don't be so hard on yourself, please. Maybe consider celebrating with us tonight?" You smiled and raised up one of your eyebrows.
"I think I'm good for now." He pushes his water between his fingers slightly. You sigh and get up from the table.
"Well as long as you don't leave early again..." You say and down the rest of your drink before walking over to JJ, Emily, and Penelope dancing. You can feel his eyes focused on you.
Dancing for so long you start to lose track of time, letting the warmth of the alcohol take over you. Enjoying dancing with your girls after while you decided you needed a slower song to take a break. You walked over to the DJ and requested a song you knew would grab Spencer's attention. The DJ said ok and started playing "Kiss U Right Now" by DUCKWRTH. You walked back over and smiled slightly. Penelope let out a loud "OOOO! I like this!" As she began dancing slower. You found Emily and started dancing closely with her. You both giggled a little bit as you swayed your hips against each other. Feeling your dress inching up your thigh you peek over at Spencer. You knew he was already watching you, you could feel it. As your eyes met his, he got up from the table and took off towards the bathroom.
"I need to pee!" You said in Emily's ear before heading towards Spencer. She nods and joins Penelope and JJ.
As you finally made your way through the crowd you saw Spencer stepping out of the restroom. He didn't even bother to look at you but as he passed you, you felt his pinky brush against you again. You hooked your pinky around his and he stopped dead in his tracks. You turned to look at him as he stayed frozen for a second. Your heart was pounding waiting for him to make a move.
Spencer felt his entire body tense up. The small heat in his chest turned into a wildfire. He turned and pushed you up against the wall. His hand moving to the hem of your dress, his hot hand touching your thigh. He kept his other hand intertwined with your pinky. His heart was thumping as he moved his lips close to yours. He could feel your heavy breathing as his eyes were locked on yours. You gripped his pinky a little tighter to pull the rest of his body closer.
You can feel the heat pooling in your stomach as you stare Spencer down. His gaze told you everything you needed to know. The song booming as it narrated both your thoughts. He wanted this just as much as you did. You wanted him to prove it, he was killing you as he hovered over you.
"You need to get back to the girls before they wonder where you are." He whispered before letting go of your hand while backing away from you. He passes the table pushing towards the door. You glance over at the team to see if they notice, if they do they're not acting like it. You take a breath and decide to follow him.

A.N well guys I’m back, it’s been a minute but I’ll update you. I’m a big girl with a big professional office job now so I haven’t really had time to write how I want. However, my friends suggested I get back into hobbies I enjoyed before dating my ex so I’m back to writing in my spare time, which is limited with my workload. I am going to be updating a lot more or at least trying so my request are open but bare with me as my laptop was stolen so this was all posted from my phone. So sorry there’s no breaks. It’s hard out here. Happy reading and make sure to reply if you’d like to be tagged. Much much love -Cia
Chapter 2: Take me back to the light
You were sitting in your physics 201 class, bored out of your mind. Anyone could tell physics was not your favorite class but you still enjoyed it because Spencer was the TA. And watching your friend talk passionately about something was always something you enjoyed. You were taking notes on things you wanted to ask Spencer about later when you heard Stephanie behind you.
“God, he never shuts the fuck up.” She groans as her friend snickers next to her.
“Come on, Steph, don’t be rude.” Her friend laughs next to her.
“Seriously, it’s fucking annoying. He never lets Professor Tegarten teach his own class without going on a 30 minute rant like a fucking nerd. Bet he’s a virg--”
“Hey, Stephanie!” You interrupt loud enough to gather her and a few classmates attention. “Do you ever shut fuck up?”
You don’t miss the quiet gasp that leaves the class. Spencer’s head snaps up when he hears you, looking at you with a shocked expression.
“Ms. L/N! I’m sure Mr. Reid would like to continue his lesson if you’re done being a distraction.”
“I’m sorry Professor Teagarten, Mr. Reid.” Spencer gives a weird look when you refer to him by his formal title. “I wasn’t trying to be disrespectful I was just letting my classmate, Stephanie know that if she focussed as much in the class as she did being a vapid cunt she wouldn’t be failing.” That induces a few laughs and an open mouth expression from Stephanie.
“Ms. L/N!” Language like that will not be tolerated in this course. Either apologize to Ms. Langley or leave at once.”
“Yea, I won’t be doing that.” you say, picking up your bag. “I will however apologize to you and Mr. Reid. Sorry for causing a disturbance.”
You wait outside the lecture hall with a book until the class is long dismissed, giving Stephanie a look as she passes by you. You look up when Spencer is heading towards you with an angry expression. You chase after him when he just walks past you.
“Aw come on, Spen, don’t be like that.”
“That was incredibly embarrassing.” Spencer says, crossing his arms. “Why couldn’t you let it go?”
“You knew Stephanie was talking shit about you?”
“Yea, she does it every time I speak.” Spencer shrugs.
“And you want me to just, what? Let that happen?”
“Yes, Y/N. It’s not the first time I’ve had to deal with people like that.” Spencer says. “Happened all the time in High School.”
“Yea well this isn’t high school, it’s college. I’m sorry kids are cruel but you’re supposed to be respected here. And if I have to make sure of that, I will.” You say. You hear Spencer mumble something and that makes you look up. “What was that?”
“Nothing, I just… wish we met sooner.” He says. That makes you smile wide.
“I wish that too.” You smile.
--------------------------------------------------------------
You were sitting across from Spencer on the jet on the way back home from a relatively easy case. You immediately noticed the file in his hand he was reading from despite not having a new case yet.
“What’s that?” You asked, leaning up. “Cold case?”
“No, it’s your mom’s facebook page.” He said, turning it towards you and sure enough, it was. “I asked Garcia to print it for me since I don’t like technology.”
“Uh-huh…..” You trail off, confused. “... May I ask why?”
“I need to learn about your family and who’s going to be at the party before it happens.”
“You couldn’t just ask me? I could’ve told you.” You say, shrugging. Spencer gives you a look.
“Really? What’s your little sister’s major?”
“Art science.” You supply.
“Nope, she changed to Sociology last winter.” He says, laughing and handing you the file. “Wanna brush up on your family?”
You mock his laugh, flipping him off. “I don’t need to brush up on my family, thanks. Why are you reading up on them though? They already know and love you.”
“They haven’t seen me since I was 22, I’d like to think I’m a little different now.”
“I mean, hardly.” You laugh at the bored expression Spencer gave you. “Spencer, my family already loves you. You have nothing to worry about.” You say, handing him the file back and heading to the back area to make a cup of coffee.
You’re halfway making your and Spencer a cup when you see Emily coming towards you with her own cup.
“So..” She starts. “Spencer’s meeting the family this week.”
“Spencer has already met my family when we were in college. He’s just coming with me this week to make it less miserable being around my mother.”
Emily nods, understandingly. “You know, that kid would do anything for you, right?”
You turn and level Emily with a weird look. “What are you getting at, Emily?”
Emily just shrugs. “I’m just saying maybe this week will be eye-opening for the both of you. You’re both so clearly in love with each other—“
“What?!” You cut her off. “You know, this trip is purely to get my mother off my back. There is nothing and there will be nothing going on between us, got it?” You say, with a pointed tone that makes Emily lift her hands in self-defense. The seatbelt light shines indicating you take your seats. You return with your and Spencer’s coffee, handing it to him and locking your seatbelt. He takes note of your annoyed expression.
“You okay?” He asks. You nod briefly.
“Come over tonight?” You ask, Spencer nods and returns to his file for the rest of the flight.
----------------------------------------------------------
You and Spencer we’re halfway into your Thai dinner when you broach the subject.
“Hey, what’s our story?” You say, stuffing chicken pad thai into your mouth.
“Story?” Spencer questions. “We met in study hall at Caltech because you were failing Calc, and have been friends ever since.”
“I know how we met, genius.” You laugh. “And so do my parents. I mean, what do we say when they, you know, ask how we got together?”
“Oh, that?” Spencer says, leaning back and thinking briefly. “Maybe… after a tough case, someone got hurt, made the other realize they should confess their feelings. High pressure situations seem to bring that out of people.”
“Hmm..” You nod. “Who’s confessing to who?”
“Me, Obviously.” Spencer said, looking incredulously. “We could say it was after the Oregon case.” You remembered that case. You had gotten hurt while chasing after an Unsub with Spencer. He stayed by your bedside the entire time.
“You?!” You scoff. Spencer looks mildly insulted. “Please!”
“So what’s that supposed to mean?”
“Spencer, come on.” You laugh, leaning up. “I love you, bud but every person you’ve dated since I’ve known you, I’ve had to set you up on. My parents aren’t going to believe you asked me out.”
“Okay first, you realize I don’t need you to set me up, Right?” Spencer says, “I mean, I let you and Garcia do it because it makes you happy. But I don’t need help getting girls. Never have.”
“Alright then, do it.”
“Do what?”
“Ask me out.” You say, leaning forward into him. “Since you seem so confident that’d you’d be the one doing it. How would you ask?”
Spencer looks uncomfortable for a moment. “I don’t know if I should--”
“Oh come on, Spencer.” You plea. “Just for fun? I wanna see what you mean.”
“Fine.” He sighs. “I guess I’d say… Y/N, You’re my best friend and I never want to say anything to lose you but I almost lost you and I decided that I can’t go on without telling you how unbelievably in love I am with you. I never expect you to feel the same and if you want to go back 20 seconds and forget I ever said anything that’s fine but I don’t want to go another morning, another lunch in the office, another dinner on the phone with you not knowing you are the single light in my life. I’m in love with you and I need you to love me back.” Spencer finishes his monologue with a deep sigh looking you intensely in the eye. There’s a brief moment in your shared gaze where you think of how badly you want his words to be real. How badly you want to be in love with someone, in love with Spencer.
But you lived in reality
And in this reality, Spencer was just a friend. A friend who wants to help.
“Wow uh…. That was good, Spence.” You laugh, nervously. “Okay, We’ll say it was you.”
“I think we should kiss.” Spencer blurts out.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“I mean, we’re a fairly new couple. I think your mom’s going to expect us to be at least a little all over each other.”
“We could just tell her we’re not big into PDA.” You provide.
“We could but if it does come up, I don’t think our first kiss should be in front of everyone. That’s a big way for us to end up caught in the lie.” Spencer says. “Plus, do you really think that ‘No PDA’ rule is going to work on your mom? You know how she is.”
You sigh for a moment, Spencer was right. Even though you wanted him to be wrong. You knew how your brain worked. If Spencer kissed you and you liked it. You could never go back to how you were before.
“Okay.” You agree. “Do you want me to…?”
“No, no. I-I could..I mean, i-if y-you want to--” You smiled as you listened to him stammer and stumble to try to find the words. Spencer was adorable sometimes.
“Just kiss me, Spence.” You laugh and as if all he needed was a cue, Spencer hand is circling around your neck pulling you towards him. He hesitates for a moment, to see if it was something you still wanted. You give him a small nod and his lips are crashing on to yours. A small moan of surprise leaves your lips as Spencer cups the sides of your faces with his hands pulling you impossibly closer to him. It’s almost impossible for you to not lose yourself in the feeling of Spencer tongue gliding against you. He kissed you like a drowning man’s last breath of fresh air. You were enjoying it too much, you knew this. But you couldn’t help yourself. It was Spencer.
Spencer pulls away for a moment, leaning his forehead on your briefly before backing up, surveying your face. “Was that--? Are you okay?”
No, you wanted to say. You completely flipped my world upside down. All I can think about is how you kiss, how your hands felt, how they’d feel in other places--
You cut off your own thoughts. “Oh, yea. I-I’m okay.” You shake your head to clear your mind. “What about you? You okay?”
Spencer clears his throat. “Y-Yea, I’m good.”
“Good…” You trail off. “We should probably focus back on our story again.”
“Y-Yea.” Spencer stammers. “So...where was our first date?”
“Hmm… Stagilliano’s?” You muse. Spencer gives you a weird look. “What? It’s the place we eat the most.”
“Yea, but it’s not a place I would take a date!” Spencer exclaims.
“I went on a date to Stagilliano’s last week!”
“Well, your standards are a little low, Y/N.” Spencer says, you exclaim a small ‘Hey!’ “But I don’t want your family thinking I’d take you to a 2 for $25 penne vodka.”
“Fine then, Casanova. Where do you take all these dates that you apparently don’t need me to set you up on?”
“Planetarium.”
“The planetarium??” You say. “You take every date to the planetarium? To what? Bore them to death?”
“Well, not every date. But if it’s someone I like, yes.” Spencer says, taking a drink of the long forgotten beer you had given him when he came over. Spencer didn’t drink much but he figured if this was going to be a long night immediately followed by a longer week with your family, he needed the edge. “You’d be surprised. A lot of girls like space.”
“A lot?” You repeat, narrowing your eyes. “What exactly are you saying, Spence?”
Spencer smirks. “Just that it’s never not worked.”
You pause for a second before realizing the innuendo. “Ugh, gross. You know I don’t like thinking about you having sex!” You exclaim while Spencer goes into a fit of child-like giggles. It was a lie though, you often thought about Spencer having sex… mainly alone… in the comfort of your bedroom.
You shook your head, manually erasing that train of thought. “Let’s move on to something else, please.” You plead.
Spencer takes mercy on you. “Alright, pet names. Do we use them?”
You muse for a second. “Do we have to? I don’t even use pet names when I’m actually dating someone.”
“Alright, Snookums” Spencer chuckles, causing you to roll your eyes.
The two of you spend the rest of your night ironing out your stories until it’s a freshly pressed shirt. You’d feel confident if your exhaustion hadn’t taken over hours ago.
“Alright, we should call it a night. You can crash here if you want.” You say to Spencer as you start clearing the table.
“Yea, I’ll crash on the couch.”
You have a heinous idea that you try to hold in but it explodes out of you anyway. “You know, you could just sleep with me.. in my bed, I mean. We’re going to be sharing at my mother’s anyway. We might as well… practice.” You hate the words as they come out because they were lies. You didn’t need the practice, you just hated sleeping alone.
“Y-Yea.” Spencer stutters, before following you into your tiny bedroom.
The two of you lay stiff for a while, on opposite sides, both of you not daring to touch the other. You look at Spencer’s silhouette in the dark, sensing the obvious discomfort.
“You can move closer, you know.” You whisper into the dark. “I know my bed is too small for you. I don’t mind.”
Spencer responds by turning towards you, bending his legs inward. He mumbles a small ‘thank you’ close enough to the back of your neck that it makes you shiver before falling asleep, leaving you wide awake, silent and wrestling with your emotions.
And when he pulls you closer in the middle of the night, you still say nothing.

Socks
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Y/NxSpencer
Author’s Note: Thank you to @coffee-and-stories for the prompt, that I finally got around to writing.
How the hell was she going to tell Spencer?
That’s the first thing that popped into Y/N’s head when the little pink plus showed up on the test.
She knew it had to be really cute, like one of those Youtube videos.
She went on to do a few chores around the house while she was thinking.
She started folding the laundry, when she began “pairing” Spencer’s socks, the idea came to her almost instantaneously.
She walked into the Target, and went straight to the baby sock display. She carefully picked a set of 3.
When she returned home, she carefully wrapped the socks how she wanted, and waited.
She was making some dinner when she heard his key in the door. She was nervous and excited, she was worried she would let it slip before he even opened the box.
“Hi, honey” Spencer said as he gave Y/N a hug and a kiss.
“Hi, sweetie, I missed you.” Y/N replied.
“Is this for me?” Spencer asked pointing to the inconspicuous box sitting on the kitchen table.
“Yes”
“It’s not even my birthday or anything”
“I know”
“It’s not an anniversary of ours.”
“Also true, just open it”
Y/N kept cooking as Spencer undid the little bow, lifted the lid, and pulled back the tissue, to reveal 3 tiny pairs of mismatched socks.
“Wh...why are they…” before he could even finish the sentence his face went from confused to elated. He jumped up from his seat at the table and gave Y/N a huge bear hug, then looked straight into her eyes and said, “Really?”
Teary eyed Y/N nodded .

🌹The Talk (Spencer ReidxReader)🌹
A/N: requested by @graygublerreid hope you like it❤
You sat on the couch curled up next to your husband of sixteen years, kissing every now and again enjoying the silence from your two children (Y/S/N) was about five years old, and (Y/D/N) was sixteen. She was doing what every average teenager did, which made Spencer and you nervous for her well being. You trusted her as much as you could trust any teenage girl in highschool. There were times Spencer would still check on her at night, he never wanted his little girl to grow up.
Spencer was protective over both of your children, he tried to protect them from the darkness of the world. You were spaced out thinking about life, you barely even notice when (Y/D/N) came in. She spoke breathlessly “ Mom, what is sex like?” You looked at her in disbelief as your heard your husband in the kitchen choke on his drink. Spencer angrily stormed into the living room “(Y/D/N.) Garcia Reid! You will not sleep with that boy! I swear to god you will not leave your room until you are eighteen! I will not let some stupid decision ruin your life! Go to your room! Now!”
You looked at your husband in disbelief, “Spencer, I can't believe you, that was way to bitter. Sure she was out of line for asking that, but Spencer you were mean.” You cautioned, you gave your husband a very disapproving look as you stormed up the stairs and stormed up the stairs quietly. You approached your daughters room with extreme caution. You knocked quietly “(Y/D/N) come on, open the door, please it is just me baby.” You heard her bed creak softly and the door squeal as she opened it. You stepped in slowly and sat on her bed as the bed sighed underneath your weight, you sat next to her. Spencer walked in slowly as you looked at him and got up slowly.
“ Watch your temper Spencer Reid.” you muttered sternly as you leaned against the wall. “You are aware I did not mean to be that hateful, you are just too young to be having sex… I mean I can not stop you but if it is what you want to do, there is really nothing I can do. I can promise if I find out that you are having sex in this house he will not be allowed back. (Y/D/N) I have made it my entire life goal to protect you and your brother, I swore on my life that I would keep you two safe. I do not want you having sex yet. I want you to stay my little girl a little longer.” he confessed. Your daughter looked at her father with love, “ Oh, dad you’re silly, I will always be your little girl.” she gleamed. You watched as the two embraced. Spencer left the room slower with the knowledge that he will always be her father.
Later that night you got out of the bed to use the restroom and saw Spencer at your daughters door, looking in. You came up behind him and wrapped your arms around his waist and accompanied him in watching your daughter sleep. “ Spencer, she will always love you, you will always be her role model in ways you’ll never understand. You are her Father Spencer, Nothing will ever change that. You are the best father in the world” you hummed. You knew that your daughter would always look to her father for help, and as her hero.

Signs
"You know what?" JJ said looking at you. "I think Spencer's into you" she grinned.
"i think....you're crazy" you told her, shaking your head.
You were all in Penelope's office. it was one of your rare 'days off' and you had finished your paper work so you decided to hang out with the girls for the weekly gossip.
"Come on, (Y/N). This is classic Jason." she told you.
Penelope and Emily looked at you, both confused. "Who's Jason?" they asked.
Emily laughed and you glared at her but she told them anyway.
"Jason is one of the many boys who were into (Y/N) but she didn't notice. He used to sent her flowers, chocolates, compliment her every day but she was too oblivious to notice his crush on her" she finished laughing.
"He wasn't into me! and Spencer and i are just friends!" you told them.
"i agree with JJ on this." Emily said. You looked at her with wide eyes " oh come on! Friends don't look at you like he does."
"And 'friends' don't treat you like you treat eachother" Penelope added.
You scoffed. "he's Spencer, he cares about people all the time"
At this point, you were kind of trying to convince yourself more than them. He didn't like you...did he? I mean, you were pretty close but that was just because you had so much in common, but that was it, right? it wasn't-it couldn't...
A knock on the door snapped you out of your thoughts. "Hey, (Y/N) i'm going to get coffee now, you want anything?" he asked.
Before you could say anything, JJ walked to the door. "Yes, (Y/N), maybe you could go with him so you can get that thing that you really wanted" she said wiggling her eyebrows at you.
You narrowed your eyes at her. "She'll be right out" she told Spencer and closed the door on his face.
"No" you said. "you are not going to do anything like set us up and all that stuff you guys do. He's my friend"
"Alright, but did you see his feet? a guys feet point at what they want and his were pointing right at you" Penelope said.
"Why wouldn't his feet point at me?" you groaned. "otherwise he's standing like...a penguin or something" you stood up and left.
____________________
Spencer held the door open as you entered the small coffee shop and walked to the counter behind you, he ordered your drinks and you decided to lean on the bar as you waited for your coffee.
"So what were you guys talking about?" he asked.
"Oh, not much, just um girl stuff, you know" you said trying to act casual.
A young couple caught your attention, they were talking outside the coffee shop and you couldn't help but notice the way the man was standing. Your watched his feet were pointing at her.
You vaguely heard Spencer said something but you missed it for being to occupied on other couple of old people.
You shook your head, the conversation with the girls already playing with your head. Dammit JJ. "...huh? i'm sorry, what did you say?" you asked him.
"i asked you what was the thing you really wanted from here?" your gaze unconsciously shifted to his feet, they were facing you.
You panicked and before you could think about it, you moved around him but every time you walked behind him he faced you again.
"what...what are you doing?" he asked you, weirded out.
you thought about a good excuse for your weir behavior. "i'm just...walking like a friend" you mentally kicked yourself for how stupid that sounded but kept moving.
He grabbed your arms to hold you still. "Hey, calm down" You looked at his hand, resting softly on your shoulder. Your heart already racing as you stared at him. "What's going on?"
You sighed. "The girls just planted a stupid idea in my head" you told him. "That when a guy's feet point at a girl, means he likes her or something" you explained.
He frowned in confusion. "Wouldn't he look like a penguin otherwise?"
"Yes! that's exactly that i said" You laughed. "And they think you like me"
He tensed up and thought for a second before speaking again. "I mean...i would be lying if i said no" he said, looking st you sheepishly.
"You like me?" he nodded.
"How can't  i? you're funny, kind and...so beautiful"
You couldn't talk. Spencer liked YOU? He sighed and took a step closer. You swallowed thickly watching him lean forward painfully slow. His face stopped millimeters from yours and after you nodded your head in approval, he finally kissed you.
If you said you didn't feel anything, you'd be lying. The way his hands caressed your cheeks as he slowly kissed you made you ache for more. But before he could deepen the kiss (if that was even possible) the barista called his name, announcing your drinks were ready.
He grabbed both of the cups and handed one to you. Your hands were still shaking when you took your drink murmuring a small 'thanks'.
"I think you got that thing you really wanted" He winked at you making you blush furiously.
"I sure did".
